See Terms Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Jeanine Herbst. WHITE HOUSE borders are Tom Homan says a small federal security force will remain in Minnesota as the major immigration enforcement operation in the state. Dr. He made the remarks on CBS's Face the Nation, saying this force would stay for a short period of time. NPR's Alina Selyuk has more.

Homan says more than a thousand immigration enforcement agents have already left and several hundred would be removed early in the week to get back to, quote, the original footprint. Exceptions beyond that footprint, he said, will include investigators who will stay to finish the probe into allegations of fraud, as well as the protests that had disrupted a church service. Plus, Homan said an additional security force would stay to protect attacked immigration agents to respond when they get surrounded by agitators and things get out of control. He did not specify the size of this force beyond saying small, and he said he hoped this contingent could also be removed fairly quickly. Alina Seluk, NPR News, Washington.

The Israeli cabinet has approved a new measure allowing the Israeli government to claim more land in the occupied West Bank. NPR's Daniel Estrin reports.
Daniel Estrin
The Israeli cabinet said the decision would allow the government to register large swaths of territory as state land. Critics of the decision said Palestinians would find it hard to prove land ownership under the Israeli criteria. This follows a series of other measures Israel took last week to strengthen Israel's grip over that territory that Palestinians want for a future state. President Trump opposes formal Israeli annexation, but has not stopped Israel from taking these steps as he focuses on Gaza. Trump says countries have pledged more than 5 billion for Gaza and thousands of personnel for peacekeeping forces there. Lethal Israeli strikes continued in Gaza today. A big week for Wall street is coming up with the latest GDP data likely to give investors important clues about the strength of the U.S. economy. NPR's Rafael Nam reports.

For a long time, there's been a difference between how Americans feel about the economy and what the data actually shows. A long period of high prices and uncertainty about the labor market has left many households feeling a little skittish about their future. The data, though, largely have shown the US Economy is expanding at a very solid pace, growing more than 4% in the summer and early fall. On Friday, we'll get the latest GDP report, this one covering from October to December. That's going to give investors a good report card on the economy, including on consumer spending and the impact of tariffs. Another important clue will come on Thursday when Walmart will report earnings, giving us another good view of consumer spending. Rafael Nam, NPR News.

The FBI says a glove found about two miles from the home of Nancy Guthrie, the 84 year old apparently kidnapped from her home two weeks ago, appears to match a glove worn by a masked suspect and in surveillance video at her house in Tucson. The FBI says it's awaiting final DNA test results on that glove. From the box office numbers, it looks like the whole world celebrated Valentine's Day. And Pierre's Bob Mondello has more.

But the filmmakers wanted their swoony romance to play in movie theaters over the Valentine's Day weekend, not just Stream. Turns out they were right, with women making up 75% of the audience.
