The Israeli military struck one of the last functioning hospitals in southern Gaza. The military says it was targeting a senior Hamas figure inside the hospital. Hamas says the official had been receiving medical treatment at that time. Gaza's health officials say the strike set fire to part of the hospital, wounded hospital staff, and killed a teenage patient. It came on a day of intensive Israeli bombardment which sounded like this. Health officials said six members of one family were killed. They were sleeping in the tent. This is part of Israel's strategy to pressure Hamas into releasing hostages under terms that align with its own interests. Anas Baba, NPR News, Gaza.
