Details@Capital1.com Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Korva Coleman. President Trump has posted a video online of large explosions. He didn't explain anything about it. The Associated Press reports this is a likely U.S. attack on the Iranian city of Isfahan. NPR's Emily Feng has more.

Posting without context or a caption, President Trump shared on social media a video of two successive explosions, one leaving a giant cloud of smoke. Around the same time, several social media videos from within Iran were shared with diaspora websites despite a widespread telecommunications blackout in Iran. And and they show what appear to be secondary explosions around a military site in Isfahan, including a possible munitions depot. Iran's Navy said it had struck a container ship in the Persian Gulf it claimed was owned by Israel in response to Israel's repeated strikes on Tehran this week. Emily Fang, NPR News Fan Turkey the

average cost for a gallon of regular gas has now gone to $4. That's according to Motoring Club AAA. That's an increase of more than $1 in just a month since the war against Iran started and and Americans are paying that cost. Leslie Sherman Shafer is an Uber driver in the San Francisco Bay Area. She says her monthly gas costs have jumped. When I pay extra for gas, yes, it's me absorbing the cost. And in order to compensate for that extra $200, I have to work extra hours. The average for a gallon of diesel is now nearly $1.79 more than it was a month ago. Diesel prices will affect the cost of goods that Americans need, such as food. TSA agents who have lost pay for more than a month are now getting some of their back paychecks. President Trump used an executive order to find funding for their wages, but the Department of Homeland Security is still partly shut down. The House and the Senate and Democrats and Republicans still disagree on how to fund it. The the U.S. supreme Court will hear a case tomorrow on the potential future of birthright citizenship. NPR's Selena Simmons Duffin reports on the effect this case could have on maternal and infant health.
Bruce Leslie
Bruce Leslie is president of First Focus on Children, a bipartisan advocacy group for children and families, which submitted an amicus brief.
Selena Simmons Duffin
In this case, it's in the words birthright citizenship. So this is about babies.
Bruce Leslie
He says the effect a change in policy would have on babies is missing from the arguments over this issue. Which is a serious oversight.
Selena Simmons Duffin
This impacts every baby born in America without birthright citizenship.
Bruce Leslie
The family of every baby born in the US Would need to prove their citizenship. All new parents would have a new bureaucratic hurdle and eligibility for health insurance, food and social support. And more would be thrown into question in the critical early days of life. Selena Simmons Duffin, NPR News.

On Wall street, in premarket trading, Dow futures are higher. This is npr. The CEO of Air Canada is going to step down later this year. Michael Rousseau was heavily criticized after speaking only in English following the deadly crash of an Air Canada jet at New York's LaGuardia Airport this month. Air Canada is required to provide all of its services in English and French. Both are official languages in Canada. NASA could launch its Artemis 2 mission tomorrow evening. The the crew of four aims to fly around the moon and back. From Central Florida public media, Brendan Byrne reports the countdown is underway.
Selena Simmons Duffin
For the first time in more than 50 years, the clock at Kennedy Space center has been turned on for a crewed lunar mission. Mission managers say that all the issues with the rocket, like its leaking hydrogen and faulty helium system, are fixed. Launch director Charlie Blackwell Thompson says they'll keep a close eye on the rocket and and only launch when ready.

But certainly all indications are right now we are in excellent, excellent shape as we get into count.
Selena Simmons Duffin
Once that count hits zero, NASA's massive SLS rocket will launch the Orion space capsule and its crew of four, three US astronauts and one from Canada. The 10 day mission will test out key systems of the Orion vehicle as it travels around the moon and back, taking the crew farther into deep space than any other mission. For NPR News, I'm Brendan Byrne in Orlando.
