At today's briefing, Levitt was asked about the mistake the administration made in deporting a man to El Salvador even though he had protected status in the United States. Levitt said it was an administrative error. She says it's also the administration's position that the man belongs to a violent gang and will not be returning to the US Kilmar Abrego Garcia's lawyer, Simon Sandoval Moshenburg, is pushing back.

On NPR's Here and Now, he says his client was denied his right to challenge the government's allegation. First responders are on the scene of a box truck crash in Boston's Chinatown neighborhood. Police say the truck slammed into a building and struck pedestrians, causing multiple injuries. A 17 year old Palestinian held in Israeli jail without charge died under unclear circumstances this week, making him the first teen to die in Israeli detention. Israeli forces have rounded up thousands of Palestinians in the west bank since the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel, and many are still in jail without charge. NPR's Hadil Al Shalchi has more.

A group that represents Palestinian prisoners in the West bank said 17 year old Walid Ahmad was healthy before being arrested last Sept. For allegedly throwing rocks at Israeli soldiers. The Prisoners Club accused the Mejiddo prison where Ahmed was held for ignoring a recent health crisis at the prison. Aya Shaytech is with the Prisoners Club. Shreyata said that a virus that caused vomiting and diarrhea had spread in the jail at the time of Ahmed's death. The Israeli prison service said that the details of his medical condition remain confidential and that an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of death. It's NPR News. A SpaceX crew of four is orbiting the earth over the planet's polar regions after launching from Florida's Kennedy Space Center. Last night marks the first time humans have ventured to this orbit. Central Florida Public Media's Brendan Byrne with details.

The mission was chartered by cryptocurrency billionaire Chun Wang, who was born in China but is a naturalized citizen of Malta. Joining him on the mission are a Norwegian film director, German robotics researcher and an Australian adventurer. The four will spend up to five days traveling in this polar orbit conducting nearly two dozen experiments inside their SpaceX Dragon capsule. Some experiments will focus on how humans adapt to spaceflight and include taking the first X ray in space. For NPR News, I'm Brendan Byrne in Orlando.

When the Trump administration suspended migrants ability to claim asylum in the U.S. it left those already in the country awaiting court hearings in legal limbo. NPR's Jason DeRose reports that religious congregations care for those who fled to the U.S. despite the uncertainty, dozens of houses.

Of worship in Southern California are sheltering migrants in a variety of legal situations. One of them is Heritage United Methodist Church in South Los Angeles. In the past, the church housed Haitians fleeing turmoil and now houses Venezuelans. Pastor Ivan Saviano leads the congregation. In a biblical way is a demand that is presented on the Old Testament to welcome the strangers because of God's solidarity with migrants.
