In Pennsylvania, Police have a 38 year old man in custody in connection with a fire set at the governor's mansion overnight as the family sleep in the house. Cody Balmer faces charges including attempted murder, arson and terrorism. Police say he jumped a fence, avoided police and got inside the house and set it on fire with a homemade device, then fled. Colonel George Bivins is with the Pennsylvania State Police.

There's no word on a motive. China says it welcomes the US Exempting most Chinese electronics and semiconductor components from new tariffs. NPR's Emily Fang reports. The change came after the U.S. levied 145% import taxes on Chinese goods, which has sparked a ferocious trade war between the world's two largest economies.

China's Commerce ministry said the U.S. tariff exemption was a, quote, small step towards correcting the, quote, mistaken approach the US had taken on trade. The exemption announced by the Trump administration late Friday, excludes electronic goods like smartphones, computers and semiconductor chips, items which China either makes or assembles and which the US Cannot readily make itself.

320 people in two aid camps have been killed by the RSF since Thursday. According to Local Emergency Response Rooms, a network of activists supporting local communities. The camps are in the city of Al Fashir, the last major city in Darfur that the RSF do not control. The city and its camps have been bombarded by the RSF for several months. The casualties include nine medical staff from the aid group Relief International who ran the only remaining medical facility in Zamzam Camp, which hosts more than half a million refugees. The latest violence comes almost two years since the civil war erupted, causing the world's largest humanitarian crisis and worst famine in decades. Emmanuel Akinwotu, NPR News.

The women led group was formed in 2023 and was trying to make it easier for other women to start and stay in this male dominated field. The council was working on solutions like child care and changing fitness requirements for pregnant and postpartum women. The Trump administration is rolling back government programs related to diversity, equity and inclusion. The 22 women on the council were all Forest Service employees. They signed on to the work in addition to their jobs, but but the agency wouldn't answer questions about their employment status.
