Live from NPR News in New York City, I'm Dale Willman. The Trump administration this weekend deported 10 more people to El Salvador. They say they're gang members. The deportations come just days before Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele visits the White House. NPR's Luke Garrett reports.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio says 10 members of the Ms. 13 and Trenda Aragua gangs arrived in El Salvador Saturday night. Rubio then praised the alliance between Trump and Bukele. The secretary of state gave no other details about who these individuals are or what crimes they committed. In March, the Trump administration sent hundreds of migrants to a prison in El Salvador. Among them was Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, who was mistakenly deported. The Supreme Court upheld a lower court order that the administration must facilitate Abrego Garcia's return. Meanwhile, the Salvadorian president landed in Maryland this weekend and is set to meet Trump on Monday. Luke Garrett, NPR News, Washington.

Hundreds of refugees and aid camps in Sudan have been killed in recent days by the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces, which is now at war with Sudan's army. That's according to the local human rights groups. The fighting has taken place in Sudan's Darfur region, where the group has been accused of genocide. NPR's Emmanuel Akinwatu reports.

More than 320 people in two aid camps have been killed by the RSF since Thursday, according to Local Emergency Response Rooms, a network of activists supporting local communities. The camps are in the city of Al Fashir, the last major city in Darfur that the RSF do not control. The city and its camps have been bombarded by the RSF for several months. The casualties include nine medical staff from the aid group Relief International, who ran the only remaining medical facility in Zamzam camp, which hosts more than half a million refugees. The latest violence comes almost two years since the civil war erupted, causing the world's largest humanitarian crisis and worst famine in decades. Emmanuel Akimotu, NPR News.

And this is NPR News. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be back in New York later today. That's when jury selection in her defamation suit against the New York Times begins. NPR's David Folkenflick has more on our story.

Palin filed the suit more than seven years ago after the Times published an editorial against heated rhetoric. It linked her political action committee's online ad to a mass shooting in Tucson, Arizona, that gravely wounded then Representative Gabby Giffords. No proof was ever found that the shooter was motivated by or even knew about the ad. While jurors were deliberating, the presiding judge said in open court that he would rule against Palin regardless, saying she hadn't proved she had a credible case. The jury found the Times not to be liable, but several jurors admitted receiving push alerts notifying them of the judge's decision before their verdict. The appellate court sent the case back. Abc, CNN and MSNBC have made payments to settle cases in recent months. The Times says it will vigorously defend itself against Palin once more. David Folkenflick, NPR News.
