Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Lakshmi Singh. The head of the International Energy Agency says more than 80 energy facilities across the Middle east have been hit since the US And Israel waged war against Iran about a month and a half ago. NPR's EH Batrawi reports. The top IEA official warns it could take up to two years to repair the damage.

The International Energy Agency's chief, Feteh Barol, told an audience at the Atlantic Council that more than 80 oil and gas fields, refineries and energy terminals were damaged in six weeks of war. His comments come as the Qatar based Al Jazeera Channel released footage for the first time of Iran's March missile attack on the Ras Lafan gas complex in Qatar and damage to the El Adeid air base where some 10,000 US troops were stationed before the war. Iran's state news agency, meanwhile, says Iran wants financial compensation from four Gulf Arab states and Jordan for hosting U.S. troops that attacked it during the war. Some Arab Gulf states say it's Iran that should pay for Region One damage. Aya Boltrawi, NPR News, Dubai.

Two members of Congress say they will resign following allegations of sexual misconduct. Texas Republican Congressman Tony Gonzalez and California Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell, who has been accused by several women. Swalwell has already announced that he is suspending his campaign for California governor. NPR's Elena Moore reports on an ongoing debate in Congress about how to hold lawmakers accountable.

NPR has not independently verified the allegations against Swalwell, which were first reported by the San Francisco Chronicle and cnn, and Swalwell has forcefully denied them. Still, it sparked almost immediate political backlash, especially as Swalwell is one of a handful of members facing controversy right now. For weeks, there have also been calls for Texas Republican Congressman Tony Gonzalez to resign over a past affair with a staffer who later died by suicide. Gonzalez has since said he will not run for reelection. But shortly after SW announced he was resigning, Gonzalez said in a statement that he planned to file his retirement from office.
