News in Washington, I'm Nora Rahm. Spirit Airlines is grounded for good after federal bailout talks failed to pan out. The Spirit announced early this morning all flights are canceled. NPR's Amy Held reports the already struggling budget airline couldn't overcome jet fuel prices roughly doubling since the US Attacked Iran.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy spoke Saturday morning at Newark Airport, but not everyone had gotten the memo in time. Spirit announced their closure around 2 in the morning Eastern, leaving some travelers surprised and upset when they arrived at the airport. Those who paid by credit card were promised refunds, and other US airlines offered to cap tickets for them at $200. But problems run deeper.

appeals court is restricting access to one of the most common means of abortion. It's blocking the mailing of mifempricetone, one of the medications used for abortion or for the treatment of miscarriages. The Food and Drug Administration had allowed the pills to be mailed after an online or phone consultation. The makers have directly appealed the decision to the Supreme Court. NPR's Selena summons defin reports. This affects the whole country.

This is a really big deal. First of all, a decision from a panel of judges in New Orleans changed how Americans all over the country can access an FDA approved medication. That's unprecedented in terms of abortion access. This severely restricts access in states with abortion bans, but it also affects people in states like California, Maryland, Massachusetts, who have come to rely on telemedicine, too.
