Scott Simmons with the State Emergency Management Agency says there are reports of hundreds of structures damaged, including the agency's own emergency operations center.

Tornadoes reported in Wilkinson and Adams Forest County. Doing the preliminary assessments, we talked about as many as 815 structures between Franklin and Lincoln county suffering some damage right now.

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves says multiple tornadoes have been reported in central and western Mississippi, with a major one reported in Franklin county, where damage is said to be widespread, with reports of people trapped inside damaged homes. People President Trump is seeking to pressure Iran into reaching a deal to end the war, warning that the US Will start bombing again if Iran does not agree. But in a social media post, Trump said a deal is very possible. A ceasefire officially remains in effect, but the US Military said it disabled an Iranian flagged tanker in the Gulf of Oman Wednesday, saying it was trying to breach the US Blockade of Iranian ports. minister said in a statement that Israeli forces targeted the commander of the militant group's elite Ridwan force. It did not give his name or say whether he was believed to have been killed. There was no immediate comment from Hezbollah. Video from Beirut's southern suburbs showed people searching for survivors in the rubble of what appeared to be a residential building. Lebanon and Israel agreed to a ceasefire April 16, but Israel has been escalating attacks, most of them in Bor border areas in south Lebanon. Jane Araf, NPR News, Beirut.

A new NPR PBS Marist poll finds President Trump at the lowest point in his presidency politically as people across the US Deal with high gas prices linked to the unpopular war with Iran. NPR's Domenico Montanaro has more.

Eight in 10 of the more than 1300 respondents say the recent rise in gas prices is putting a strain on their household budgets. The war in Iran has led directly to those prices surging, and most are blaming President Trump for the increase. As a result. The poll found Trump with just a 37% approval rating and 59% disapproving, his worst score in the poll of either presidential term. His economic approval is down to 35% and on his handling of Iran, it's just 33%. Democrats appear to be benefiting. When respondents were asked who they would vote for if congressional elections in their districts were held today, they sided with Democrats by 10 points. Domenico Montanaro, NPR News, Washington.

Financial markets in Asia sharply higher on Thursday, trading Japan's benchmark Nikkei leading the way, crossing the 62,000 mark for the first time. This is NPR. A federal judge says the Justice Department does not have to return the 2020 election ballots from Georgia's Fulton County. They were seized by the FBI from a warehouse near Atlanta. The judge issued the ruling Wednesday. Lawyers for Fulton county had argued for their return, saying the seizure was improper and unconstitutional. Fulton county is at the center of unfounded election fraud claims by President Trump. The deadly cruise sh the relationship outbreak of hantavirus is a strain called andy's virus, and NPR's Gabriela Emmanuel reports it is known to spread human to human.

People are typically infected with hantavirus after inhaling virus particles from rodent, urine, feces or saliva. However, Andy's hantavirus is known to be transmitted between people who are in very close contact. Kari Debink is at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

The World Health Organization says personal protective equipment has been brought on board. Three passengers have died and there are five other patients, including one in a hospital in South Africa and another in a hospital in Switzerland. A cruise ship is now heading to Spain's Canary Islands, departing the waters off Cape Verde after three people were evacuated. Two arrived at Amsterdam's airport Wednesday evening and were driven off in ambulances. Health officials in the US Say they are closely monitoring the situation with Americans on board the ship.
