Robert Francis Prevost spent two decades in Peru, first as a missionary and ultimately as archbishop of Chiclayo, the South American country's fourth largest city. In 2015, he became a naturalized Peruvian citizen. 28 year old Ximena Valdivia is part of Chiclayo's youth ministry and says she can't stop smiling. I screamed when I heard his name, she says. God is great to have given us such a humble man as pope. Peruvians are posting multiple memes claiming Pope Leo theirs, including pictures of the new head of the Catholic Church wearing the national soccer team's jersey, eating Peru's national dish ceviche and drinking an Inca Cola. In return, the UK is removing a tariff on US ethanol imports. President Trump first announced the deal from the Oval Office with Starmer on speakerphone. One thing all the sides appeared to agree upon was that the technology surrounding artificial intelligence has the power to significantly transform business, culture and geopolitics. A lawyer for Smokey Robinson is denying recent allegations of sexual assault against the R and B legend. Four former housekeepers for Robinson have filed a lawsuit alleging he repeatedly raped them. NPR's Andrew Limbong reports. Robinson's lawyers called the allegations false and vile.

In a statement, attorney Christopher Frost calls the lawsuit a ugly method of trying to extract money from an 85 year old American icon, adding that they will be addressing a number of aspects of the complaint that defy credulity. The allegations date back to 2007. The four women listed as Jane does all describe similar repeated instances of Smokey Robinson waiting for them to be alone in one of his homes and then raping and sexually assaulting them. His wife, Frances Robinson, is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit. The plaintiffs alleged she knew about the assaults and that her conduct was willful, wandon and malicious. British rockers the who now say they're planning their final goodbye tour in North America for this summer. Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townsend confirming today the group will perform hits from its six decade career called the Song Is Over North American Farewell Tour.
