We've just learned that a California jury has unanimously voted to dismiss all claims in Elon Musk's lawsuit against OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and other OpenAI leaders and funders. Musk alleged Altman and others breached their duty to OpenAI's nonprofit mission and unjustly enriched themselves by building a for profit company on top of it. The jury found that Musk had not filed his lawsuit within the three year statute of limitations for making a claim of breach of charitable trust. This is an advisory jury, meaning their decision is non binding. The US And Israel may soon decide whether to resume their full scale war with Iran. NPR's Daniel Estrin has the latest from Tel Aviv.

Against the backdrop of an energy crisis stemming from the war in the Middle East, a mega energy merger is underway in the US NPR Scott Horsley says Nextera Energy is taking over Dominion.
Scott Horsley
Nextera Energy is offering to buy Dominion Energy in a $67 billion deal that would create the nation's largest electric utility. Nextera is the parent company of Florida Power and Light, while Dominion's territory includes Virginia, which is home to a large number of data centers. The proposed merger comes at a time when demand for power and utility investment are surging. Meanwhile, the price that consumers pay for electricity has jumped more than 6% over the last year, outpacing overall inflation.

Samantha Max, when local police arrested Mangione at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, they found a cell phone, a loaded magazine, a passport and a chip in his backpack. Judge Gregory Caro says a jury cannot see those items because police found them through an illegal search. But jurors will be allowed to see a gun, a silencer and a notebook that officers uncovered. Later, the judge says that surge followed proper protocols.

Dutch authorities have made quarantine arrangements for the ship's skeleton crew of 27 people that have remained on board throughout the ordeal. The Dutch flagged luxury ship had been carrying 150 passengers and crew from 23 countries when it reported three deaths from hantavirus earlier this month. Ship's operator Oceanwide Expedition said everyone still on board is asymptomatic and being closely monitored. Some will stay in quarantine facilities at the port while others will self isolate at home.
