Massey referring there to Ed Gallerin, President Trump's hand picked challenger. Trump had targeted Massie over the Epstein files and for criticizing the war in Iran and voting against Trump's tax legislation last year. Mass Nancy's ouster followed the primary loss over the weekend of Louisiana Republican Senator Bill Cassidy and losses by state lawmakers in Indiana primaries earlier this month. In Georgia, former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has won the Democratic nomination for governor. She will face the winner of a June 16 Republican runoff between two Trump backed candidates. Capitol Hill Republicans control the Senate, but they advance Tuesday, a Democratic resolution to force President Trump to end the Iran war while Louisiana Republican Bill Cassidy a crucial vote. NPR's Eric McDaniel reports.

Presidents have 60 days to consult Congress on military action. President Trump's war on Iran has extended well beyond that. And now, after a string of unsuccessful measures, the Senate passed the latest Democratic led proposal that would force the war to end. Senators Rand Paul, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski had come to support those efforts. And now Senator Cassidy fresh off a stinging primary loss orchestrated by President Trump. Chinese join them. Here's Cassidy conceding his race last weekend.
C
Our country is not about one individual. It is about the welfare of all Americans and it is about our Constitution.

Eyes are on the House, where a similar measure failed on a tie vote just last week. Eric McDaniel, NPR News, the Capitol.

Law enforcement officials in San Diego say that the perpetrators of a deadly moss shooting, quote, did not discriminate on who they hated. NPR's Odette Yusup reports that online material, materials that appear tied to the attack show typical hallmarks of violent white nationalism.
E
NPR has reviewed a 75 page document and a live stream video that extremism analysts believe are connected to this attack in the video, the individuals appear to copy many aspects of a violent white supremacist's 2019 attack on worshipers at two mosques in New Zealand. Matthew Kreiner is with the Institute for Countering Digital Extremism.

Three people were killed in Monday's attack on the Islamic center of San Diego. The teenage attackers found dead with apparently self inflicted gunshot wounds. This is NPR. The U.S. government has agreed to permanently drop tax claims against President Trump. The Justice Department has posted a one page document to its website that says the government is forever banned and precluded from examining or prosecuting Trump, his sons and the Trump Organization's current tax issues. The document is part of the deal to resolve Trump's $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS over the leak of his tax returns. A new book about truth in the Age of A contains fake quotes that were generated by artificial intelligence. NPR's Jeff Brumfield has more on what happened.
C
The book is called the Future of Truth. According to its website, it explores how artificial intelligence is poised to replace human complexity with, quote, catastrophic robotic certainty. Robotic certainty appears to have been catastrophic for the book's author, Stephen Rosenbaum. He used AI to help write the book, only to have it make up false quotes by prominent journalists and academics. That's according to the New York Times, which broke the story. In a statement to npr, Rosenbaum said the misattributions were unintentional. If this serves as a warning about the risks of AI assisted research and verification, he said in his statement, that is why I wrote the book. He says the quotes will be fixed in future editions. Jeff Brumfiel, NPR News.
