Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Jeanine Herbst. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is resigning from her post overseeing the country's 18 spy agencies. In a letter to President Trump, she says she will leave the job June 30 because her husband is battling a rare form of bone cancer. The veteran and former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii was an outspoken critic of foreign interventions. And she was largely sidelined from Trump's national security team amid his war in Iran that started in February. And in written remarks to the Senate Intelligence Committee, she contradicted Trump, saying there was no effort by Iran to rebuild its nuclear capability after US Attacks last year. Today, Trump said she did an incredible job and that he will miss her. And he named Deputy Aaron Lucas as the new acting director. There's apparently growing discord in the gop. House Republicans called off a vote last night on a resolution restraining President Trump's war powers after Speaker Mike Johnson failed to muster enough Republican votes to defeat it and Senate Republicans didn't pass. Trump's top priority funding immigration enforcement for the next three years, angry over Trump's $1.8 billion taxpayer funded program for those who feel they were politically persecuted. The Trump administration wants Iran to store its enriched uranium abroad and pause its nuclear program. Iran is demanding a permanent ceasefire that lifts US Sanctions and gives it more control of the Strait of Hormuz. Dee Hadid, NPR News, New Delhi.

The news of the deal has ricocheted around the fashion world because Everlane and Shein are a case of opposites attract. Everlane had built its brand around, quote, radical transparency into how it made the clothes and how it priced them. Everlane clothes are minimalist basics and natural fabrics, the category of affordable, affordable luxury. Meanwhile, Shein is huge. It's fast fashion. It's the hottest TikTok micro trends with ten dollar skirts and $15 dresses. And it's faced allegations of unethical labor practices. But Shein's purchase is a lifeline. Foreverlane, which has mounting debt and intense competition, Everlane CEO says the brand, even under Sheehan, would remain independent and committed to sustainability. Alina Seluk, NPR News.

Filling the tank will cost more. The average price of regular gasoline is $4.55 a gallon. That's up about $1.36 from this time last year.
