Live from NPR News, I'm Dale Willman. Hamas has given its response to a Gaza cease fire proposal from U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff. As NPR's Hadil Al Shulsi reports, Hamas is agreeing to some, but not all of the terms.
Hadil Al Shalchi
In a statement, Hamas said that it has agreed to release 10 living and 18 deceased hostages. This is in exchange for Israel to release an agreed upon number of Palestinian prisoners. The US proposal calls for a 60 day ceasefire. Israel accepted Witkoff's proposal earlier this week, but it's not a done deal. Hamas is still seeking other demands. According to reports in Arab and Israeli media, it says it wants a comprehensive withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza and a permanent end to the war. More than 50, 24,000 Palestinians have been killed since the war began in Gaza 20 months ago when Hamas militants attacked Israel. Hadil Al Shalchi, NPR News, Tel Aviv.

The International Atomic Energy Agency says Iran has further increased its stockpile of uranium that's been enriched near weapons grade. In a confidential report, the agency calls on Tehran to change course. The report comes as the Trump administration is trying to reach a deal with Iran over its nuclear program. President Trump's tariffs are beginning to be felt in many parts of the country. For some black women, it means they're starting to pay more for hair care. Tanya Washington is a law professor at Georgia State University. She says that industry is larger than many people imagine.
Tanya Washington
The black hair care business is like a $2.5 billion industry, and we know that a lot of the products are imported from China and other places that will be subject to tariffs. And so there is an anticipated increase in the cost of those products that would include products that are applied to the hair as well as hair extensions, wigs.
Dale Willman
Some hairdressers across the country are already reporting an increase in prices because of those tariffs. You're listening to NPR News. Sweden's Maya Stark holds a one shot lead going into Sunday's final round of the Women's U.S. open Golf Championship. The 80th edition of that major tournament is being played at the Erin Hills Course near Milwaukee. Chuck kwimboff, member station WUWM, has this.

Maya Stark
I play scared, that's when I mess up. And you can't really play scared at a course like this.
