Live from NPR News, I'm Dale Willman. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on the Iranian people to, quote, stand up against the regime there. His comments late Friday came as Iran launched retaliatory missile strikes against Israel after Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities and military targets. NPR's Adil El Shalchi has more from Tel Aviv.
Benjamin Netanyahu
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Iranian people that Israel's attack on their country was, quote, clearing a path for them to, quote, achieve freedom.
The nation of Iran and the nation of Israel have been true friends since the days of Cyrus the Great. And the time has come for you to unite around your flag and your historic legacy by standing up for your freedom from an evil and oppressive.

Israel's military has ordered evacuations for the area where Gaza's biggest functioning hospital is located. As NPR's Aya Batari reports, Gaza's Health ministry says people needing emergency care are now unable to safely reach it.
Aya Batari
Israel's military says people are required to leave this area of Khan Younis due to an offensive there, but that the hospital itself is not required to evacuate. Gaza's Health Ministry, however, says the hospital is now surrounded by tanks and, quote, effectively under siege. Nasser is the biggest hospital in Gaza still functioning. It was receiving up to 2,000 wounded people a day in recent weeks. The health ministry says the hospital is currently treating 500 patients, dozens of them in intensive care. The eight group doctors without Borders says Nasser Hospital has the last functioning intensive care unit for children and newborns in southern Gaza. And for the fourth straight day, Internet and phone lines are down across the Gaza Strip after what Palestinians say was an Israeli strike on a main fiber cable route. The blackout is hampering vital rescue and aid efforts. Aya Boltzraawi, NPR News, Dubai.

It's also President Trump's 79th birthday. And as NPR's Kat Lansdorf reports, there are hundreds of protests against the parade planned nationwide.
Kat Lansdorf
Organizers are calling them the no kings protests. They're currently set to take place in around 1500 cities across the country. There is not one planned for Washington, D.C. although there are several other protests planned in the city. President Trump has warned that any protests at the parade will be met with, quote, very big force. The military parade comes as Trump has sent the military to Los Angeles in reaction to protests there. D.C. has been preparing for the parade all week with armored vehicles and tanks streaming into the city and significant road closures already in effect. Kat Lansdorf, NPR News, Washington.

Assistant as part of the government's racketeering case against combs in as NPR's Isabela Gomez Sarmiento reports, Jonathan Perez worked for.
Isabela Gomez Sarmiento

Other witnesses have testified these were drug fueled sexual performances in which Combs allegedly coerced women to have sex with male prostitutes. Perez said he did not know the details of what happened in these rooms and considered it Combs private life. He also said one of the alleged victims, a woman who testified under the pseudonym Jane, did not seem hesitant about participating in these nights. Notable Quotes:
Details: Despite the Israeli military's directive to vacate the surrounding area due to ongoing offensives, the Health Ministry of Gaza maintains that Nasser Hospital remains open. However, the hospital is now treating only 500 patients, including dozens in intensive care. Additionally, the interruption of internet and phone services across Gaza, attributed to an alleged Israeli strike on a primary fiber optic cable, has severely hampered rescue and aid operations.
Reporting: Aya Batari reported from Dubai, highlighting the dire situation within the hospital and the broader humanitarian implications of the siege and communication blackout.
Key Developments: A grand military parade is scheduled to march through downtown Washington, D.C., to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and President Donald Trump's 79th birthday. The event will feature tanks, thousands of troops, and aerial flyovers.

Perez maintained that he was unaware of the specific occurrences within these events and characterized them as part of Combs' private life. Contrarily, one alleged victim, identified as Jane, did not appear hesitant during her testimony. Another former assistant is slated to testify in the following week, potentially strengthening the prosecution’s case against Combs.
