In a social media post, the attorney general says this horrific violence will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Separately, Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino says the bureau is fully engaged on the ground in Minnesota and is collaborating with local and state partners. The U.S. army celebrated its 250th anniversary Saturday in Washington, D.C. with the big parade filled with tanks and more than 6,000 troops. President Trump and Vice President J.D. vance spoke briefly at the close of the parade. NPR's Frank Lankfit was on the National Mall.

At the end of the day, several hundred of those attending the rally moved to other parts of downtown. The police issued an order to disperse. A small number refused to leave. Some tear gas was used, and there were arrests. For NPR News, I'm Steve Futterman in Los Angeles.

Police in Salt Lake City, Utah, now have one person in custody related to a shooting Saturday evening in that city's downtown area. The shots were heard during their no Kings protest. It's not known, though, at this time whether the shooting was connected to the demonstration or one person was critically injured in the shooting. Some 10,000 people were marching to a federal building at the time of the shooting. Demonstrators were told to disperse after the gunshots were heard. You're listening to NPR News. Israel launched another assault on Iran Sunday morning. Officials say they were targeting Iran's Defense Ministry headquarters in Tehran, along with sites it alleges were associated with a nuclear weapons program. Iran, meanwhile, launched a new set of missiles at Israel. Tehran says they were aimed fuel production facilities for Israeli fighter jets. Gaza's health ministry says another 40 people have been killed since Friday while they were trying to get food. NPR's Anas Baba reports on the risks some of Gaza's 2 million people are taking due to extreme hunger and Israeli restrictions on aid.

The UN Says most of its aid allowed by Israel into Gaza this past month has been taken off trucks by hungry people. Fatima Abdul Al says her son Mohammed was desperate to get a sack of flour for his six children, who she says haven't eaten bread in over a month and are surviving of only lentils. She told NPR from the morgue he was killed by Israeli fire with a bag of flour in hand from a UN truck. Gaza's health ministry says nearly 300 people have been killed by Israeli forces while trying to access food aid since late May. Most have died near Israelis and U S, backed privately run sites where food boxes have been distributed in the military zones of Gaza. Israel says its forces have fired warning shots.
