Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Rylan Barton. President Trump says he'll accept the Supreme Court's decision expected tomorrow on birthright citizenship, even if it goes against him. But as NPR's Franco Ordonez reports, Trump says such a decision

in a major test for the 14th amendment. The Supreme Court is expected to announce Tuesday whether Trump's restrictions on birthright citizenship can stand. The 14th Amendment has long been interpreted to guarantee citizenship on all those born on U.S. soil. At the White House, Trump struck a somber tone about the pending court decision. Well, I guess I have to accept. It's the Supreme Court, so I'll accept. I think it's very bad for our nation. We're the only nation that does it, actually. According to the Pew Research Center, 32 other countries around the world have similar birthright citizenship. The president has not been shy about his feelings, though, pressing justices to back him and even attending a high court hearing on the case. Franco Ordonez, NPR News, the White House.

Arizona Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego has been cleared of a misconduct complaint by the Senate Ethics Committee. Republican Congresswoman Ana Paulina Luna championed the case against Gallego, alleging campaign finance and sexual misconduct, as NPR's Claudia Grisales reports.

In April, Senator Gallego told reporters he had regrets about a long friendship with California Representative Eric Swalwell, who was facing a wave of allegations that eventually forced his resignation. However, Gallego told reporters there was no wrongdoing on his part, a stance he's maintained.

The fire that killed three firefighters over the weekend in Colorado continues to burn with zero containment. Colorado Public Radio's Stina Seeg says locals remain poised to evacuate in the tiny community nearby.

Lauren Ransom saw giant columns of smoke on Saturday, then chains of flames from her home in Glade Park. She said the winds were the worst she'd ever felt in her little high desert town of only a few hundred people. That's Pyrotechnico CEO Steven Vital, whose company is putting on the big show. Some fireworks will be launched from barges in the Potomac. The show will last 40 minutes, more than twice as long as usual, and it will start later, around 10:30pm Eastern. Vital says he's using fireworks from all over.

Paraguay's men's soccer team has pulled off one of the biggest upsets in recent World cup history, defeating powerhouse Germany in a nail biting shootout, the first of this year's tournament. Germany has won four World Cups, is ranked 22 places above Paraguay. Paraguay will face France or Sweden on July 4th in the round of 16. This is NPR News from Washington.
