Iran's Joint Military Command is warning that all oil tankers moving through the Strait of Hormuz must use its approved routes or face what it calls a forceful response. It comes after US And Iranian negotiators met separately with mediators who said positive progress has been made to resolve the conflict started by the US And Israel in February. Ship passage through the Vital Waterway is continuing to rebound even after Iran attacked two commercial vessels last week that circumvented its routes. But traffic remains far below pre war levels. Russia launched a massive drone and missile attack on Kyiv, killing at least 21 civilians in the city and injuring many more. It comes after Ukraine launched long range strikes on Russian oil facilities that have disrupted energy supplies and created long fuel lines in Russia. A grand jury in Orleans Parish indicted the state's Republican attorney general, Liz Merrill, on eight counts of malfeasance in office and eight counts of intimidation. The letters went to five Democratic City council members, the mayor, the city attorney and a retired judge. The dispute began after the state legislature combined the parish's criminal and civil cler offices. Murrell argued the parish's civil court clerk should take over, and she warned the city officials that she'd take legal action to remove them from office if they moved to fill the seat. Murl calls the indictment, quote, retaliatory, meritless and unconstitutional. Republican Governor Jeff Landry posted that he would, quote, pardon her as fast as the law allows. The initiative started in April and closed at the end of June. It offered a one year renewable residence permit to those with a clean criminal record who have lived in Spain for free five months.
