Authorities in Utah believe the suspected gunman captured in connection with Charlie Kirk's assassination acted alone, but they're still sifting through evidence and conducting interviews to learn as much as they can about why it happened. NPR's Ryan Lucas has more.

Secretary of State Mark Rubio is in Israel this weekend to discuss Israel's military strength this week in Qatar. The attack targeted Hamas leaders there for peace negotiations. Rubio spoke with reporters about expectations for his trip as he boarded a plane at Joint Base Andrews outside Washington, D.C.

Israel's attack on Qatar sparked international condemnation. Israel's increasing airstrikes in Gaza City. Health officials in Gaza say at least 32 people, including 12 children, have been killed so far this weekend. The strikes are part of an offensive to take over the city. Israel says the area is the last remaining stronghold for Hamas. One of the strikes hit a house, killing a family of 10. More than two years into Sudan civil war, the US is signing onto an international proposed roadmap for an end to the fighting. Michael Koloki has more in a joint statement.

The U.S. egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are proposing a three month humanitarian truce in Sudan fighting followed by a permanent ceasefire and a nine month transitional process to establish civilian led governance in the country. It calls on all sides to facilitate humanitarian access and assistance across Sudan. Since April 2023, when fighting broke out between the Sudanese armed forces and the paramilitary group that Rapid Support Forces, or rsf. Tens of thousands of civilians have been killed. Earlier this week, the U.S. treasury Department imposed sanctions on Sudan's finance minister, Jibril Ibrahim, accusing him of undermining a democratic transition. The California legislature has voted to extend that state's cap and Trade program through 2045. The program has been a major tool in the state's efforts to meet its climate goals. The lawmakers also committed funding for high speed rail systems, affordable housing and community air protection programs. You're listening to NPR News. A march in London organized by far right activist Tommy Robinson turned violent Saturday. Police say officers were assaulted and cans and bottles were thr by the crowd. At least 26 officers were injured and 25 people were arrested. Robinson, who's known for his nationalist views, said the march was a demonstration for free speech. The Trump administration is launching a pilot program that it hopes will accelerate the use of vehicles now only dreamed about sometime in the future. NPR's Chandelyse Duster has more.

The Department of Transportation says a new pilot program through the Federal Aviation Administration will help test electric flying air taxis that could one day be used for transportation and emergency response. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says safely testing electric air taxis and other types of advanced air mobility vehicles can improve how the traveling public and products move. The program will include at least five pilot projects and will run for three years after the first project is up and running. The Transportation Department says at least two aviation companies have said they intend to participate. Shondalyse Duster, NPR News.

In college football, number one Ohio State had a slow start Saturday night. The score against the Ohio Bobcats at halftime was 13 3, but the Buckeyes used a strong fourth quarter to overwhelm the Bobcats 37 9. Kicker Aiden Burr, meanwhile, was the hero Saturday for Georgia Tech. He hit a 55 yard field goal as time ran out to give The Yellowjackets a 2421 win over number 12 Clemson.
