Live from NPR News, I'm Dale Willman. The Trump administration Sunday renewed its request for a federal appeals court to allow Trump to fire Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors. Cook says the attacks against her are meritless. Trump also continued his attacks on Fed Chair Jerome Powell and told reporters he's already considered several possible people who could replace him. Well, he's incompetent. The Fed chairman's incompetent. Sure. I have three people that I like a lot. Any one of them would do a good job. Officials in Utah are releasing more information about Tyler Robinson. He's the alleged shooter of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Robinson is not talking with investigators, but police say his roommate is helping authorities. NPR's Luke Garrett has more.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox tells ABC News Robinson was living with a transgender person. We can confirm that that his roommate was indeed a boyfriend who is transitioning from from male to female. Cox says the roommate, along with Robinson's family are all assisting the authorities in their investigation. But the Utah governor says Robinson himself has not admitted to the assassination. He is not cooperating, but all the people around him are cooperating, and I think that's very important. He expects more information to be released Tuesday when the FBI forensic report is filed in court. And top of mind for Cox is learning how Robinson, who he Says was a 4.0 student from a close knit family, ended up in this situation. Cox also criticized social media companies for stoking conflict, and he compared their products to fentanyl. Luke Garrett, NPR News, Washington.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said this weekend that Ukraine's security service struck a major oil terminal in Russia. He says it was an attempt to weaken what he calls the Kremlin's war machine. NPR's Dranika Kissis reports from Kyiv.
Joanna Kakissis
Speaking in a video address on Sunday, Zelensky claimed Ukrainian forces damaged the Russian oil terminal in Primorsk, the largest on the Baltic Sea. We have significantly restricted Russia's oil industry, and this significantly restricts the war, zelensky said. He added that Russia's oil, gas and other energy resources fuel the Kremlin's war literally and economically. His comments come after a Russian drone violated the airspace of Romania, which borders Ukraine. It's the second time in a week that Russian drones have violated the airspace of NATO countries. Ukraine is urging its allies to further sanction Russian oil and those who buy it. Joanna Kakissis, NPR News.

The World Health Organization says vaccinations have begun in southern Congo. That's where an Ebola outbreak began earlier this month. At least 16 people have died so far. World health officials say there are another 28 suspected cases. Those exposed to Ebola have been given the first vaccine doses along with frontline health workers. The country has only been given 400 doses of the vaccine so far. You're listening to NPR News. The annual Emmy awards were revealed Sunday night in Los Angeles. NPR's Netta Ulaby says a number of winning actors were also first time nominees.

Chloe Zhao's drama Hamnet has won a People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film explores William Shakespeare's marriage along with the death of his 11 year old son. Hamnet stars Paul Mescal and Jesse Buckley. The latest in the Demon Slayer franchise broke box office records in its debut weekend, bringing in $70 million at North American theaters. That makes it the biggest opening ever for an anime film, surpassing Pokemon, the first movie, which opened with $31 million in 1999. Demon Slayer also brought in $178 million from sales in 49 international markets. The Conjuring Last Rites finished in second with $26 million in ticket sales, followed by Downton Abbey, the grand finale. I'm Dale Willman, NPR News.
