He would not want us to be overcome by despair. He would want us to carry the message forward to honor his memory and to expand the legacy they left behind.

Today is 9, 16, 25, and it's special because each number is a perfect square. 3 squared is 9, 4 squared is 16, and 5 squared is 25. But that's not all. According to reporter Ari Daniel, it turns.
NPR Reporter Ari Daniel
Out that 3, 4 and 5 are a Pythagorean triple. That is, if you sum the squares of the first 2, 9 plus 16, you get the square of the last 1, 25. Sound familiar? It's the Pythagorean theorem. A squared plus B squared equals C squared. And there are no other dates this century like this, so most of us will experience it just once. Terence Blackmon chairs the math department at Medgar Evers College.
