Live from NPR News, I'm Lakshmi Singh. President Trump is on an unprecedented second state visit to the United Kingdom. King Charles employs tiara diplomacy in the pursuit of strong ties between Britain and the US Complete with a carriage procession and guard of honor in welcoming Trump and first Lady Melania Trump to Windsor Castle today. As the royal family rolled out the red carpet for the US Leader, anti Trump protesters rolled out a symbol of the Epstein scandal that has dogged the president. Overnight, an image of Trump with the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was projected onto the outer walls of windsor Castle, which four people have been arrested. NPR's Lauren Frere has more details.

Video of Trump and Epstein lit up the castle walls after dark.
And this is a film about Trump's relationship with the world's most famous pedophile.
But it's not just Trump. King Charles brother Prince Andrew was also friends with Epstein. So was the UK Ambassador to Washington who last week was fired for Epstein ties. Other protesters, climate activists burst into a Republican dinner here in Windsor yelling.

You drill, baby drill, how many will you kill? Polls Show More than 60% of Britons have an unfavorable view of Trump. Protesters are marching in Windsor and in London where balloon copies of a giant baby Trump blimp that was hoisted during a previous presidential visit are bobbing above the crowd. Members of the Senate are hearing this hour from the ousted director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Susan Menarez. Minares says she was forced out of her job only weeks after she started because of growing political interference in the agency's science based work, including vaccine recommendations.

I resigned because CDC leaders were reduced to rubber stamps, supporting policies not based in science and putting American lives at risk. Secretary Kennedy censored CDC science, politicized its processes and stripped leaders of independence. I could not and good conscience remain under those conditions.

Kennedy's allies have accused Menara's of spreading false information and undermining President Trump's agenda in the wake of political violence acclaimed conservative activist Charlie Kirk's life last week. A House committee is now scheduling a hearing next month on what it describes as the radicalization of online forum users. The CEOs being asked to testify include the head of Discord. It's the forum. Utah authorities say Kirk's alleged killer, Tyler Robinson, used the day of Kirk's assassination. Robinson made a brief court appearance yesterday, and he is now facing aggravated murder, firearms and obstruction charges. From Washington, this is NPR News. The Federal Reserve's policymakers will wrap up their meeting today, widely expected to have lowered benchmark rate by a quarter percentage point to a range of 4% to 4 and a quarter percent. A reduction would mark the first rate cut in nine months. President Trump has been pushing the Fed to significantly lower the rate as he attempts to put his own stamp on the central bank, which is set up to be independent. White House economist Stephen Myron is the newest member of the Fed's governing board. Meanwhile, President Trump is trying to get Fed Governor Lisa Cook fired, and she is fighting that in court. Eli Lilly is working on a new obesity drug, but instead of an injection, it is a pill. New data offer a glimpse into how well it works. NPR's Cydney Lupkin with details.

Patients taking the highest dose of Eli Lilly's experimental obesity pill lost an average of 11.2% of their body weight. That's according to a new study of more than 3,000 patients, patients with obesity taking orphaglipron for almost a year and a half. It was published in the New England Journal of Medicine Tuesday, funded by Eli Lilly. The study also suggested the drug had similar adverse events to other obesity drugs on the market. Eli Lilly announced results of a related study in August. The company's stock tumbled when the drug resulted in less weight loss compared with Novo Nordisk's Wegovy injection. Sidney Lupkin, NPR News.
