Live from NPR News. In Washington, I'm Dave Mattingly. President Trump is signaling a shift in his view on the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. The president says he now believes Ukraine can win back all of the territory it's lost to Russia in years of fighting. The president posted his remarks on Truth Social following yesterday's meeting with Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the UN General assembly meeting. Trump added he thinks Ukraine can achieve it with financial support from Europe and NATO. And he called for patience. The Trump administration has tried repeatedly to work out a ceasefire between Moscow and Kyiv without success. President Trump says he plans to meet with the president of Brazil in the coming days. As Julia Carnero reports, the two had a brief encounter yesterday at the UN Meeting in New York.
C
President Trump and Brazilian President Luiz Inasu Lula da Silva rubbed shoulders briefly in between speeches at the UN General Assembly. Trump said the two leaders had embraced and there was, quote, excellent chemistry and they agreed to meet next week. The Brazilian government has wanted to negotiate with Washington for weeks, ever since President Trump slapped 50% tariffs on Brazilian exports in August. The fallout came with the trial and recent conviction of former President Jai Bolsonaro, criticized by Trump in his opening speech at the un Lula censored the, quote, unilateral and arbitrary measures against Brazil's institutions and economy and said Brazil's sovereignty was non negotiable. For NPR News, I'm Julia Carneiro in Rio.

Jimmy Kimmel was back on ABC's airwaves last night, days after the Walt Disney Company pulled his late night TV show over Kimmel's remarks about the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Steve Futterman reports.
D
After the applause, this was Jimmy Kimmel's opening line.
E
As I was saying before I was interrupted.
D
The most moving moments came when Kimmel became emotional. His voice cracked when he said he never meant to make light of Charlie Kirk's death.
E
You understand that it was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man.
D
And there was more emotion later when he referred to Kirk's wife Erica, offering forgiveness to her husband's killer, a selfless.
E
Act of grace, forgiveness from a grieving widow. It touched me deeply.
D
On a serious note, Kimmel said comedians should not be targets. For NPR News, I'm Steve Futterman in Los Angeles.

The chairman of the Federal Reserve says there's still a lot of uncertainty about inflation in the US Economy. Speaking in Rhode island yesterday, Jerome Powell said the Fed's job going forward will be to manage the risks of higher prices. Powell was speaking nearly a week after the Fed cut interest rates for the first time in nine months. They cut the rate by a quarter point. This is NPR News. Pediatricians and other health experts across the US Are responding to President Trump's warning linking the use of tylenol to autism. NPR's Alison Aubrey has more.
F
There is no evidence that taking Tylenol while pregnant causes autism in children, which the FDA has acknowledged. Dr. Nicole Baldwin is a pediatrician who says Tylenol has been shown to be safe and left untreated, high fevers can cause complications for the mother and the fetus.
G
We don't want parents to just tough it out, you know, we want moms to be treated.
F
Some studies have pointed to a link between autism and Tylenol, but these correlations could be a fluke or coincidence. Baldwin says both shark bites and eating ice cream increase in summer, but that doesn't mean that one causes the other. She says correlation is very different from proving that something causes harm. Ryan Ruth is facing life in prison after being convicted by a jury in Florida of trying to assassinate then presidential candidate Donald Trump last year. Outside Trump's golf course in West Palm beach, jurors deliberated for two hours before finding Ruth guilty on all counts. When the verdict was announced, Ruth tried to stab himself in the neck with a pen and was quickly subdued by officers who dragged him out of the courtroom. Ruth represented himself at trial and did not testify. He will be formally sentenced in December.
