At least tens of thousands are expected to take to the streets in New York. The protests come against the backdrop of a government shutdown, now in its third week with all three branches of government under Republican control. Pussy Riot, the rebellious punk rock ban from Russia, is expected to perform here, but the time and location have not been publicized. For NPR News, I'm Bruce Kahnfiser.
