Live from NPR News. In Washington, I'm Windsor Johnston. Demonstrations are taking place across the country today to protest the policies of the Trump administration. No King's Marches are underway in Washington, D.C. new York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and smaller cities like Fort Myers, Florida. That's where John Simon joined a crowd gathered downtown for today's rally.
Protester
I protest because I'm alive. That is all you need to see what's going on with the government. If you're alive, you should be out here protesting what the government is doing.

Organizers say more than 5 million people turned out for no Kings marches back in June. NPR reporter's Ron Elving says these demonstrations come in a long line of protests against the White House.
Ron Elving
Organizers this year expect crowds in more than 2,000 locations, and attendance they hope, will be in the millions. Those earlier protests were largely driven by advocates for abortion rights and women's rights. The current protests cover a wider range of issues, the rule of law, individual rights under the Constitution. At the same time, the overarching issue today is rejection of autocracy.

That's NPR's Ron Elving. Republican critics are blasting the demonstration as anti American. The sale last week of Dominion Voting Systems caught many of the state and local governments that used the company's equipment off guard. NPR's Miles Parks reports. The announcement seemed geared toward people who are skeptical of elections.
Miles Parks
NPR has spoken to voting officials in numerous states who say they found that the servicer of their elections equipment was changing hands. From reading about it in the media, it didn't help that the buyer of Dominion Voting Systems, former Republican election official Scott Leyendecker, seemed to lean into some of the unfounded suspicions surrounding the company since Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. As of today, Dominion is gone, read the first line of the press release announcing the sale. It's unclear what's actually changing, though. Company representatives in Georgia sent an email to counties there that said Liberty Vote shares the same values as Dominion. Same team, same support, different name, the company wrote. International aid group say humanitarian supplies still aren't reaching Gaza despite Israel's promise to increase deliveries under a U s brokered ceasefire. NPR's Jane Araf reports.
Jane Araf
It has been allowing aid through two other crossings, but there it's a bit of a numbers game because Israel refers to all trucks as aid trucks. So just to give you an example, two days ago, the figures show 950 trucks entered Gaza, but a Trump administration official shed some light on that. It appears that only about 10% of that figure were UN or international aid organizations.

NPR's Jane Arrap reporting. This is NPR News. In Washington. President Trump has commuted the prison sentence of former Congressman George Santos. The New York Republican was released late last night from a federal prison in New Jersey, where he was serving his term after pleading guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. The Los Angeles Dodgers have advanced to Major League Baseball's World Series. Chuck Kornbach reports. The Dodgers swept the National League Championship Series last night, beating Milwaukee.
Chuck Kornbach
The Dodgers defeated the Milwaukee brewers by a score of 5 to 1, sweeping the team's National League Championship Series. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says Shohei Ohtani's hitting and pitching was probably the best performance ever in postseason baseball.
Dave Roberts
And there's been a lot of postseason games. And there's a reason why he's the greatest player on the planet. You know, what he did on the mound, what he did at the bat.
Chuck Kornbach
Next up for the Dodgers in the World Series will be the winner of the American League Championship Series between the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays. For NPR News, I'm Chuck Kuernbach.

Authorities in Cincinnati say at least 10 people were taken to the hospital last night after a third floor balcony collapsed. Police say one person is listed in critical condition and five others suffered injuries. The building is located near the University of Cincinnati. It's described as a place where a lot of students live. Photos and videos posted online show the balcony on the ground. I'm Windsor Johnston, NPR News, in Washington.
