U.com NPR LIVE from NPR News in Washington, I'm Giles Snyder. Special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Trump's son in law Jared Kushner are expected to be in Israel tomorrow. The White House says the two will try to mediate the return of the remains of Israeli hostages under the U. S Brokered cease fire. Hamas turned over two more late last night. NPR's Rob Schmitz reports that 16 remain.
C
The first of the two deceased hostages identified by Israel was that of Ronan Engel, who was killed while trying to protect his family during the October 7th attack two years ago in the border kibbutz of Neroz. His wife and two daughters were freed by Hamas in November of 2023. He was 54 years old at the time of his death. The second deceased hostage identified by Israeli authorities is Sontaya Al Qarashri, a Thai national who was also killed in the October 7 attack. Israel's government says 16 deceased hostages remain in Gaza. In a statement, it said Hamas must fulfill its commitments to return the rest of these hostages as part of the US Brokered ceasefire agreement. Rob Schmitz and Pyrenees Tel Aviv.

President Trump says he's no king.
D
This is not a king. You know they're saying they're referring to me as a king.
B
I'm not a king. Trump speaking there on Fox Business on Friday. However, earlier today he posted an AI image of himself on social media wearing a crown, flying a King Trump fighter jet and bombing a crowd of protesters this weekend. Snow Kings rally saw people packing the streets of cities and towns across the nation. Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders spoke to the crowd at the protest in Washington, D.C. objecting to Republic Republicans calling them Hate America rallies.

Millions of Americans are coming out today not because they hate America. We're here because we love America.

Demonstrations in all 50 states were largely peaceful and festive. There have been no reports of violent incidents or arrests. The government shut down now on its 19th day. And as it wears on, food banks and other groups that serve military families are seeing a surge of new clients. From member station Wh in Norfolk, Virginia, Steve Walsh reports.
F
Armed Services YMCA operates 22 food banks near military installations. They have seen a 30% jump in demand in the last couple of weeks. Pantries have had to close early for the day because they have run out of food, says Doreen Ocam with the group.
G
I mean, that's the reality of the fact is there are more people than there is food today.
F
Groups that provide emergency loans to troops have also seen a surgeon, even though troops did not miss a paycheck. Anxiety over the possibility is forcing cutbacks. Dawn Cutler with the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society points out that many military spouses have also been furloughed, cutting household income. For NPR News, I'm Steve Walsh.

And you're listening to NPR News. Thieves have broken into the Louvre in Paris and stolen jewelry. The Louvre has closed for the day. The BBC's Hugh Schofield reports that officials say at least one stolen item has been recovered at around 9:30 this morning.
H
So when the museum had already opened, the gang of three or four men armed with cutters, they broke into the Apollo Gallery, which is where what remains of the French crown jewels are kept. There they opened two display cases and made off with several items of jewelry. The whole operation took seven minutes and the men left the scene on motorbikes. It's not known what precisely were the items stolen, but the Interior Ministry said they were of inestimable historical and cultural value.
B
The BBC's Hugh Scofield reporting there from Paris. A French interior minister says the thieves knew what they were doing and appeared to be highly trained. A British lawmaker has raised the alarm after a deep fake AI video seeming to be of him was widely circulated on social media. Vicki Barker reports from London.
I
George Freeman has been a conservative member of Britain's parliament since 2010, but a deep fake video has been circulating on Facebook in which he seems to announce his defection to the pro Brexit IT anti immigrant reform UK Party. Freeman says he's reported the video to the police and has urged any other victims, whether private citizens or public servants, to do the same, telling the BBC, quote, this sort of political disinformation has the potential to seriously distort, disrupt and corrupt our democracy. For NPR News, I'm Vicki Barker in London.
