Earlier this year, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Dismissed all the previous members from the panel and he handpicked his own, many of whom, like Kennedy, have long questioned the safety of vaccines that have long been in use. Netflix has struck a deal to buy Warner Brothers Discovery, the Hollywood giant behind Harry Potter and HBO Max. The $72 billion deal would bring together two of the biggest players in television and film and potentially reshape the entertainment industry. It would also put two of the world's biggest streaming under the same ownership. But as NPR's David Folkenflick reports it still needs to be approved by regulators.

This will trigger an extraordinary degree of scrutiny in Washington, even in Donald Trump's Washington, and that's because both on the merits, this would be an extraordinary consolidation of like minded properties. There are ways in which you can interpret that more narrowly, but nonetheless, on its face, it would seem to invite a strict and lengthy level of antitrust review.
