Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Luis Schiavone. Federal immigration agents have made dozens of arrests in New Orleans this week. The city is the latest target of the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration. NPR's Matt Bloom has more.

Department of Homeland Security officials have declined to share precisely how many arrests they've made in their operation underway in southern Louisiana. In a press conference, Mayor Elect Helena Moreno said she and other local leaders sent a letter to U.S. border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino requesting data on people detained.

We've constantly heard on the news claims that this operation is about going after rapists, pedophiles and murderers. But is it really casting a much wider net?

A federal vaccine advisory committee has voted to end a long standing recommendation that all US Babies get the hepatitis B vaccine on the day they're born. Now a CDC panel is recommending the birth dose only for babies whose mothers. Dr. Richard Besser is a former acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He urges parents to consult with their own pediatricians.

Besser says hepatitis B is extremely contagious, and he's concerned the new recommendation might lead to more cases. Millions of Americans 65 and older are finalizing their 2026 Medicare enrollment. From member station Nebraska Public Media, Macy Byers reports on the choices.

Some private insurance companies offer Medicare Advantage plans with low monthly premiums and extra benefits. But analysts say premiums and out of pocket costs are expected to tick up nationally next year. Nebraska Hospital Association President Jeremy Nordquist works with seniors navigating those costs.
