Police say that Mangione was found with a ghost gun and a three page document that indicated some, quote, ill will toward corporate America. Mangione also left a social media trail as Ivy educated tech worker. His LinkedIn page says he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science. Mangione's social media activity indicates interests in tech, wellness and masculinity focused self help gurus. A Goodreads account in his name also left a positive review for the writings of Theodore Kaczynski, also known as the Unabomber. Kaczynski also harbored ill will toward corporate America. One of his targets included a president of United Airlines. Maria Asp, NPR News, New York.

Thompson was shot six days ago outside a hotel in midtown Manhattan. A jury in New York City has acquitted US Marine veteran Daniel Penney of criminally negligent homicide in the death of Jordan Neely. The verdict came three days after the trial judge dismissed a more serious count of manslaughter against Penney for the chokehold death of Neely on a subway train in May of last year. People on the train testified Neely was acting erratically and shouting threats when Penny subdued him. A federal bankruptcy judge in Texas will continue hearing challenges today to the auction of conservative commentator Alex Jones. Infowars Media company Jones and the losing bidder argue that auction was rigged against them. The winning bid was placed by the satirical news outlet the union. NPR's Tovia Smith has more.

Jones and First United American Companies, a firm with business ties to Jones, call the auction a mockery, arguing the onions bid violates auction rules. They say First United's bid was the higher and better offer. The auctioneers and the bankruptcy trustee overseeing the sale insist it was fair and the onions bid was more valuable. Jones was forced into bankruptcy after a group of Sandy Hook parents sued him for defamation for spreading lies that the 2012 school shooting never happened. Jones now owes them over a billion dollars in dam. Most of the families want the Onion to win and shut down Infowars. The losing bidder would more likely hire Jones to continue spreading his brand of conspiracy theories under the Infowars name. Tovia Smith, NPR News.
