LIVE from NPR News, I'm Dale Wilman. President Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Florida on Sunday. The two discussed a revised 20 point plan for peace in Ukraine. Afterward, Trump want to work with Europe to devise a security plan for Ukraine after the fighting stops. And he said they also had a phone call with several European officials.
C
We spoke to all of those great leaders. They're all great leaders and we had a great talk with them. After we were completed, we thought it was appropriate to speak with them. And our meeting was excellent. We covered somebody would say 95%, I don't know what percent, but we have made a lot of progress on ending that war, which is really the certainly the most deadly war since World War II.
B
Trump also spoke with Russia's president before meeting with Zelensky and called that conversation productive. Two helicopters collided in New Jersey midday Sunday. One of the pilots was killed in the crash and the other is now in hospital with life threatening injuries. That's according to police in New Jersey. NPR's Frank Lankford has this update on the accidents.
D
The helicopters collided just before 11:30am near the Hamilton Municipal Airport between Philadelphia and Atlantic City. Visibility was good. Cell phone video showed one helicopter spinning as it fell into a wooded area bordering a field. Jeff Gazetti is a former aircraft accident investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board, or ntsb.
E
It appears that helicopter was hit on its tail because if you take out the tail rotor, the main rotor will cause the body of the helicopter to just turn round and round and round like a corkscrew.
D
Gazetti says collisions like this are exceedingly rare. And NTSB investigators will seek out eyewitnesses who can describe how the helicopters manage to hit one another. Frank Langfit, NPR News.

A bomb cyclone storm over the Midwest and Great Lakes regions is creating a mix of severe weather right now, including a winter storm during the busy holiday travel season. This type of system builds fast and usually means big amounts of snow and ice are left behind. NPR's Kristen Wright has our reports.
F
The bomb cyclone is bringing a lot of snow to Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. Places like Marquette in the Upper Peninsula could get a foot or more and blizzard whiteout conditions. National Weather Service lead forecaster Bob Oravec says the bomb cyclone is impacting cities and towns in the Great Lakes with snow and more snow at this time of year.
E
The lakes are also not frozen yet, so you can actually have stronger lake effect snows. And the lakes don't always freeze.
F
Freezing rain is icing up roads in northern New England and New York State and down to New York City and surrounding areas still digging out from a weekend snowstorm. And there's arctic air in North Platte, Nebraska, and Fargo, North Dakota. Wind chills are plunging way below zero. Kristen Wright, NPR News.

And you're listening to NPR News. The Trump administration has just announced a $2 billion pledge for humanitarian aid to the United Nations. The money is a small fraction of what the US has contributed in the past, even though the administration insists it's a generous amount. The announcement comes as Trump officials continue to slash much of the US Foreign assistance programs. China is applauding a ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia that just took effect. Top diplomats from all three countries, meanwhile, many met in China on Sunday. NPR's Emily Feng has that reports.
G
China's top diplomat Wang Yi said the ceasefire was, quote, an important step towards restoring peace. Wang Yi is also hosting both Thailand and Cambodia's top diplomats in China's province of Yunnan, which borders Southeast Asia. The on and off again border dispute between Cambodia and Thailand has flared several times since this summer, and Thailand hit Cambodia with airstrikes as recently as this Saturday after weeks of deadly fighting which killed more than 100 people on both sides. China enjoys close political and economic ties with Cambodia. And Thailand has been currying closer ties with China after the country's king paid the first ever royal visit to Beijing this past November. Emily Feng, NPR News.
B
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is heading to Washington, D.C. for a Monday meeting with President Trump. The two will be discussing a second phase for the ceasefire in Gaza. The first phase took effect on October 10th. It was expected to bring a surge in humanitarian aid for Gaza, including shelter for residents. But much of that aid has not yet found its way to Gaza. I'm Dale Willman, NPR News.
