Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Dan Ronnan. President Trump Wednesday night said he intends to nominate acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to the role permanently on Thursday. Blanche is Trump's former personal lawyer and has been actively pursuing the president's agenda while leading the Justice Department in an acting role since the president fired Pam Bonte. Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a new ceasefire deal. It will include a series of pilot security zones where Hezbollah fighters would. This according to a joint statement released after the fourth round of U S mediated talks in Washington. Israel's ambassador to the US Yaikel Leiter, says under the agreement, Hezbollah fighters will have to leave the area around southern Lebanon with Israel.

Israel and Lebanon plan more talks beginning June 22 in an attempt to reach a permanent ceasefire deal. A bipartisan majority in the Republican led House is voted to end the war with Iran. The the San Diego County Water Authority has added to its water supply by desalinating seawater. Dan Denham is the water authority's general manager. He says that could allow the agency to leave some of its Colorado river water in Lake Mead for other states to buy.

Eleven years after the Supreme Court legalized same sex marriage, a new Gallup poll shows support for same sex marriage and relationships has declined slightly from 71% in 2022 and 2023.
