Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Dan Ronnan. President Trump Wednesday night said he intends to nominate acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to the role permanently on Thursday. Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a new ceasefire deal. It will include a series of pilot security zones where Hezbollah fighters would. This according to a joint statement released after the fourth round of U S mediated talks in Washington. Israel's ambassador to the US Yaikel Leiter, says under the agreement, Hezbollah fighters will have to leave the area around southern Lebanon with Israel.
Yaikel Leiter

NPR's Claudia Grosales reports. This is the clearest rebuke yet of President Trump's handling of the conflict and the subsequent fallout.
Claudia Grosales

Yaikel Leiter
We're at the point where you have to put people, the American people over politics.
Claudia Grosales
One of those Republicans, Pennsylvania's Brian Fitzpatrick, argued once a conflict passed the 60 day mark, it violated the War Powers Act.
Brian Fitzpatrick
I follow the law. People have a hard time being consistent around here. They apply different rules to different presidents, different wars, different eras. The law is the law.
Claudia Grosales
For now, the vote remains symbolic. Even if it were to pass in the Senate, too, Trump would be able to veto it. Claudia Reesales, NPR News, the Capitol.

Nevada can take it through their intake at Lake Mead or it can travel south through the Central Arizona Project into the communities of Phoenix, Tucson, et cetera.
Dan Denham
The next step is for water officials to negotiate prices and other terms. For NPR News, I'm Katie Anastas in San Diego.
