https://nachumsegal.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Sports-Update-11-25-25.mp3 Every Tuesday morning at 7:20 ET Nachum Segal presents Elliot Weiselberg on JM in the AM to deliver the Yeshiva League Sports (YLS) Update. Tune in for the latest Yeshiva League Sports information, as well as, the occasional update on other sports happenings in the Jewish world. The transcription for this morning’s update is below. Thanks Nachum! Undefeated teams get pared down in all leagues as most teams get ready to hit the half-way point of the Winter season. Straight ahead on the Tuesday Morning JM in the AM Sports Update, DRS and Magen David vie for the last 0 in the loss column in Varsity Basketball, and Frisch and SAR get set for a JV/Varsity hockey doubleheader that should put a crooked number up in one team’s loss column. All that and more, good morning, I’m Elliot Weiselberg. We start off in Varsity Basketball, where only one undefeated team now remains, as DRS downed Magen David 63-46. The win was one of three for the Wildcats this week, who also knocked off HANC and Waterbury and stand at 5-0 at the top of the East. DRS will square off with Barkai tonight in their final November contest. In other action in the East, Flatbush and North Shore up their records to 4-1. The Falcons dropped Hillel 62-57 and the Lions throttled the Thunder 56-40 behind Charlie Sassoon’s 20 points. North Shore will round out the month for the Yeshiva League hosting fellow 1-loss team HAFTR, presently at 3-1. Out West, Frisch rode Jesse Reinhart’s 19 points to a 54-41 win over SAR to jump into a tie with Ramaz at 6-1. Moving over to hockey where the interesting results continue. In varsity, Ohr Yisroel continues to raise eyebrows despite not having a victory yet. The Flames, however, have played several close games, including this past Saturday night, when Ohr Yisroel took a 1-0 lead into the third period, but ultimately could not hold it as the division-leading Sting came back to take a 2-1 overtime win. SAR stays undefeated, tied with Frisch at 6-0, also their next opponent, as the two will meet up as part of the massive 7-game schedule next Monday. Also on tap will be HANC and HAFTR. HAFTR, the last undefeated team in the East, sits at 3-0 after narrowly defeating Rambam 1-0 last night, the Ravens taking their second loss of the season. HANC was not as lucky, dropping to 2-2 following a 5-1 loss to YDE. YDE’S win avenges their loss to the Hurricanes earlier this month and lifts them into a tie with DRS at the top of the East. In JV, a wild Thursday night saw 4 of the expected top teams in action, In a matchup of the last two JV Champions, the 2024 winners knocked off the defending champs as SAR rode 3 third-period goals to a 4-1 win over DRS. On the same night, the Route-4 Rivalry provided lots of action, but not a lot of satisfaction, as Frisch and TABC could not reach a decision, finishing in a 1-1 deadlock. SAR now sits at 6-0, but not without some pressure, as winless YDE took the Sting to the limit in a 6-4 SAR win Saturday night, and the Frisch, TABC tie, which puts both teams at 4-0-1, gives the Sting a bit of an edge in the race for a top seed. Frisch and SAR will precede their varsity counterparts on Monday night with the winner starting December off on the right note as JV Hockey heads quickly toward the playoffs. And that was your Tuesday Morning JM in the AM Sports Update, I’m Elliot Weiselberg. The post Yeshiva League Sports Update with Elliot Weiselberg on JM in the AM appeared first on NSN.
