A lot of it comes down to a decision. Decision to step over how real an OCD thought feels, how much it's trying to get you, how horrible the content is. To step over it and say I'm done. I always used to say slam your fist on the table and say I'm done reacting to this stuff. This is nonsense. I've reacted for years. I am done. I'm choosing to ignore. I'm choosing to disregard. You have the to make the choice to say no and let the thoughts keep knocking on the door. Let them keep trying to come in. You need to stay strong and saying I'm done giving them power. Because again, you are the one who gives them power. With the Grayman method, we approach it from the position of your rumination. The power that you give through rumination plus the power that you give through compulsions plus the power that you give through avoidances you equals the power that OCD has to give you anxiety and the power that OCD has to actually survive. So you are the one in control. Don't give it power. Emergency session is available. The link is in the description.
