I want to go up and, you know, passing touchdowns and rushing touchdowns, definitely yards and completion percentage as well. I think all that being said, I need to eliminate the turnovers for sure. It's been talked about and I know it's obvious, so just that eliminate turnovers for myself and not making bad plays worse.

My legs? No, but LSU is a good team. But, you know, I have confidence going in every game and it's fun being able to play in a scene like that. Death Valley, get to go back this year. But, you know, there's a new coach there now. They got some new players, so we'll see how this one goes.

as quarterbacks at A and M. I think completion percentage is kind of universal one for quarterbacks, and I think that's an important one to me. You know, taking those for sure, for sure passes and not passing them up for maybes is something that's really important for me this year.

Noah Gross from kxan. How do you describe the frustration of the final two games to end last season and maybe how that kind of fueled you guys here heading into this fall? Yeah, definitely frustrating. Last two games, losing to a rival and then losing the first round of the playoffs, it's not fun. But I wouldn't say it's too much fuel because you can't really take anything from last season into this season. But, you know, there were two good teams and we were a good team. But, you know, the people we had last year aren't the same people we have this year. And I think we've had some improvements over the off season. We've got a new oc, I got a new quarterback coach. So just continue to develop. Having that experience now and just growing in my own character, in my own way of playing football, I think is going to be a change this year for sure.

And going off those last two games of the Year, it just seemed you hit a wall, like you just couldn't move the ball the same way you had all year. So for you personally, when you what did you take from those games and what were you missing during those last two performances?

Yeah, just like how you said it, we weren't able to move the ball. Couldn't get the ball in the end zone. I think we had maybe one or two possessions in the Texas game where we could really move it. Other than that, we were punting almost every possession. And then Miami game, we moved it slightly. Well, got it down the red zone a couple times. But everybody knew how the win was in that game. And there were some missed field goals from both, both ends. So, you know, couldn't really capitalize on that. But it was an unfortunate event and yeah, we lost and got to move on from it.

Tyler Shaw with KBTX and Brian College Station. You said earlier with confidence, you know, you feel like you are one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. How important is it to you to have that kind of mindset and then do you believe that, you know, this team can go as you go?

Yeah, I mean, I think it's really important to have that mindset. If you don't, you shouldn't be playing in the country, you shouldn't be playing in college football, you shouldn't be playing in the sec. So I've always had that confidence growing up. I've always played with guys older than me, so I've never been afraid of anybody. I've never been afraid of a name. I always go out there and know what I'm capable of and play the game that I love. So, yeah, I think I'm always going to have this confidence. I'm never going to let anybody tell me I can't do anything. And I think this team's going to be. This team's going to go obviously where I'm going to, like where I'm going to be. I think, you know, being a captain now, I have a voice that these people are going to follow. And then we have four other ones as well who have done a great job this offseason of speaking up and just being able to lead this team. And we have the players to go do it. We just have to buckle down and be consistent this year.

Corey Mullis, ABC Sports in Austin. Marshall, I just want to ask about something you mentioned earlier and having a new oc, new quarterbacks coach. What's been the biggest transition since losing Coach Klein. And is there something that he may have taught you that you're still utilizing to this day? Yeah, it hasn't been a crazy transition. You know, going into every single off season, there's an install and everything. So you got to learn new things every single year. But I think the change this year was just, you know, we changed up our verbiage a little bit, and, you know, that's always how it goes. People get your number, so you gotta. You gotta change it up every single year. But, yeah, nothing really drastically different. I'm in the room with Coach Wiggins and my quarterback coach, Coach Lynch, a lot this offseason, just trying to pick their brains a little bit, let them pick mine. And so we're on the same page when it comes to each and every weekend this year. So really excited for it. Still going to be explosive. Still going to have really great offense. So, yeah, looking forward to it.

Donovan Bridgeford, TXA in 24 News. You guys are heavy favorites in week one. What will you guys learn about yourselves in that game? I think, you know, we'll learn a lot. That's definitely like the. We'll get the jitters out in that game. No matter who the opponent is, we still have to go out there and execute. So, you know, we're going to see all the preparation that came through winter, spring and summer and fall camp come out in that game, and that'll tell you a lot about, you know, I think, how the season is going to go and definitely what we're going to have to clean up going into the weeks after.

Travis Tyndall, espn Austin Marcel, what are you most excited about with the new offense this year and what do you see as the biggest hurdle?

I'm really excited to get the ball to my receivers again. We have some really good guys outside returning guys. Ashton Beltaroman, Mario Craver and Terry Bussey, and then Isaiah Horton coming in. Being that big X receiver is a good pickup from the portal. I don't think they're is a, you know, roadblock or speed bump anything in our offense. I think we have a lot of guys. You know, o line might be what people talk about, but we have our returning center who's been a center for us for five years now, and he understands the game. He's been in Coach Kush's offense before, so he's able to help out the people around him. And then we also have some experienced SEC guys That came in throughout the portal, so I think we're going to be just fine. There's nothing that really, you know, concerns me going into the season. I'm just really excited to get play.

Hey, Marcel. Travis Brown, kbtx, your first quarterback to represent A and m here since 2019. And Kellen, what does. Does that mean something to you, and does it mean something to you to be kind of stability in a position that has been a little bit unstable for the Aggies for almost a decade?

Yeah, means a lot. Whenever you're a coach, you know, picks you to do something to represent the team and yourself. I think it's really important. And I'm also, you know, representing my family, my faith. You know, without God, I wouldn't be here at all. So, yeah, just happy to be in this position for sure. As well as getting the captain's badge, I mean, that's something that your coach and your teammates, you know, give you credit. So, yeah, I think I've worked to be in the position that I'm in and, you know, this is just the proof of what I put in for it for sure.

Hey, Abby Miller with the reflector from Mississippi State. The transfer parole has grown its popularity over the years, but you chose to stay at Texas A and M. Why was that?

I don't think there was a reason for me to leave. You know, a lot of people, you know, may have things outside of football that they got to worry about. And, you know, with NIL nowadays, you know, people will leave for money and stuff, or the coaching situation might not be good. But I think that, you know, when Elko came in, I saw his vision and I saw that what he wanted to do with the program. So I chose to stay then. And then Coach Klein left, took his job, which I respect, because it's his alma mater and he wanted to be a head coach. So Coach Wiggins is somebody that I've known about. He coached a lot of good players at Alabama, so trusted him. And then Coach lynch, who's my quarterback coach now, always had a relationship with him while he was at Vanderbilt, being the offensive coordinator there. I went to school about six minutes away from Vanderbilt, so known him for a long time, got to understand him, come become close with him and his family. So there was no reason for me to leave. I had everybody that I needed in my corner. And, you know, like I said, I love my team. I love College Station. There's no reason for it to happen. So.

Yeah, Tyree is, I mean, very light on his feet, which I think is really good for a tackle. He moves really well. He has the length, he has the hands. And we joke around all the time. That's one of my favorite guys. Tyree's awesome. Really excited that he came to join Aggieland and, you know, he's gonna. He's gonna protect me this year. I know that for sure. He protects me in the locker room, so really excited to have him on my side.

I'd say, you know, the quarterbacks at LSU are going to coach with a lot of experience. Coach Kiffin has been in the college game long time. Also NFL career too. But yeah, getting a good coach. Solid guy.

Yeah, you know, come back to Ole Miss, I feel like I wanted to stamp my legacy there. I feel like it was unfinished business. And, you know, things that GM should know about me is I feel like each year in, each year out, I feel like I've, you know, ultimately gotten better. You know, whether it was at Ferris State and, you know, here at Ole Miss, and I'm the ultimate competitor, put my head down and do whatever it takes to win.

It's going to be great playing Oxford. I'm not going to miss those cowbells, you know, ringing every play. But, yeah, I'm just excited to play, you know, the Egg bowl, you know, in Oxford. Kind of get a both of both worlds, I guess. You know, playing at Starkville this past year and then now get to play him, you know, in Oxford. So just super excited for our fan base and you know how electric that game will be.

Yeah, I feel like, you know, whatever the case or whatever the decision was going to be, you know, God willing, I was going to play football regardless whether it was in the NFL or, you know, in college back at Ole Miss. And I guess the lowest point in the times where I was down the most is just the uncertainty of it. Didn't know where I was going to be. I just wanted to kind of know where I was going to go and where I was going to be so I can, you know, I guess, put my best foot forward and most of my effort into that time, second row

Yeah, I feel like, you know, individual success and the awards that come with it are only based off, like, how good your team is and how far your team goes in the playoffs and the accomplishments that your team makes. So, yes, individual awards are nice, but, you know, I'm nothing without my team. I'm nothing without my offensive line. I'm nothing without my defense, and all the people that have poured all their time and energy, you know, into making the team the best.

Yeah, I would just say, you know, for me personally and for this team, we just like to work hard. Really can't get too caught up on, you know, the outside noise stuff that's outside of our football facility because at the end of the day, that's out of our control. We just know, you know, Ole Miss football, and that's what we're going to do day in and day out.

Second row, during the coaching change, you know, how the locker room and then you, you know, how did you guys, you know, kind of go through that together? Like, what did that do to make you guys stronger heading into this season, especially with the new coach and Pete Golding?

Well, it was nice to know who our coach was, and we were familiar with pg. He was already our defensive coordinator, so I guess it was. We didn't have to meet a new individual, so that was nice. And throughout that year, we knew how good of a coach PG was. I mean, he's been along in the game for a long time now. A lot of experience and, you know, for a team aspect, we just were fine with it. You know, we knew that PG just wanted to win and would do whatever it takes to win. And that was our same mindset for the team.

Personally, I would just say, you know, it's a dream come true. I've said that before. Me, personally, I'm biased, but I think it's the best conference, you know, in. In the nation. And yeah, it's, it's. It's something that, you know, you, you know, put your hat on and it's pride, you know, I mean, playing, you know, in front of the Ole Miss fans and playing in the SEC and playing against, you know, the Georgia Bulldogs, it's, It's. It's really cool, and I'm grateful for that opportunity.

Not too much has changed. I feel like pg, when he was going through that, you know, process of hiring oc, he wanted stability within the scheme and within the. The offense and jdb, you know, in his experience, he was at Ole Miss before, so kind of knows and understands what our offense is, and it's ideally the same offense as last year. There's some new terminology and some new plays that we might, you know, mess around with here and there, but at the end of the day, it's ideally

Yeah, it's been great. I love that I got an offseason under my belt. I guess you could say it's more comfortable, you know, every time I'm, you know, heading to the facility in the morning, you know, watching film with jdb, coach, judge and all the other coaches as well. So that was good to, you know, I guess create that bond with, you know, the new transfers and new guys that we got and just. Yeah, it was great to have a great off season on the aisle, then

Yeah, you know, the standard at Ole Miss is winning a national championship. But, you know, we can't get too ahead of ourselves. Last year is last year. That's done with. Nobody cares about what we did and what we accomplished last year. It's a new year. So now we're just, you know, looking forward to fall camp and attacking that, you know, as hard as we can. And then, you know, week one in Louisville.

You're a former head coach last year, obviously an offensive minded guy. Pete Golding was a defensive coordinator, so naturally he's a defensive minded guy. What's the difference in relationships between a starting quarterback and an offensive minded head coach, and a starting quarterback with a defensive minded head coach. And does it force you to kind of get closer to your position coach or your offensive coordinator at all?

I think it's awesome. You know, every time that I go to practice, I think that I'm playing, you know, the best defense in the sec. PG is a defensive mastermind. And honestly, it's like playing chess out there between ourselves, and it's cool and I love it. It's iron sharpens iron. And I would just say the difference is, you know, I guess I'm not talking to PG as much as in our scheme. You know, offensive wise, he's more defensive, but other than that, you know, it's great, you know, day in and day out. I love, you know, going up against our defense and seeing what type of variations we could see defensive wise. So that just helps me when I'm facing Georgia or Texas or any other defense in the nation.
