Man, the biggest misconception in crypto. That's right. Is that the companies that build these systems because they already have everything they need. You know what? I don't actually think that's true. I think they're actually building them because they know what's coming and they know they're going to need more and more and maybe a little bit more.

Yeah, I mean, that could be an interesting way to look at it, because nobody really spends years integrating infrastructure. I mean, partnering with banks, you know, working with payment companies, launching tokenized assets unless they're expecting demand on the other side.

That's right. Exactly. Now think about this. Right? Think about MasterCard, JP Morgan, Ripple, Ando, grayscale. I mean, I can keep listing these off, but none of these customer or companies are actually acting like spectators. They, they're acting like participants. Now, participants don't actually prepare for a future they don't believe is coming. And these guys are all getting ready. They're preparing. So they know what's on the horizon.

Yeah. And that's kind of why tonight's lineup is a little bit interesting. Every story is a little bit different, but each one points to the same type of behavior. All right, welcome to on the Chain. This is Jeff here with co host Chip. What is going on? Chip, what's going on? Everybody out there in the on the Chain community? Big question. First question of the night. How many drinks did you have while you were watching the World Cup? That's the big of. Of the. Of the night.

World cup final, man. It was great. It was great. Not that, not the game so much, but the drinking. I was sitting on the beach at the T bar, and, you know, it was a rough. It's a rough life, but someone's got to do it. And a lot of people gathered around cheering from the different bars, you know, in Spain scored, but half were rooting for Argentina, half were rooting for Spain. And you guys know how that ended. Now, let's. Let's actually kick this off. Chip, let's start with what I think is actually the biggest story of the week. Not because Ripple announced another partnership, but because of who is actually standing right next to them. And we've got MasterCard, got JP Morgan, we got Ando, we have OkX, we have Grayscale. And when you actually step back and you look at the list, these guys aren't crypto companies trying to get into finance. They are actually financial infrastructure. And they're all building together. Right? That's what it looks like. Now that is a completely different conversation that we typically hear.

Yeah. And that's kind of like, kind of what jumped out of me too. Because people hear partnership and then they think, well, it's just like a press release. I don't, I see companies that move trillions of dollars asking that same question, like, well, how do we move value in the next generation of financing? Like, more importantly, Jeff, I think it's what about infrastructure? Are we going to build it on? Right.

You know what, that's a great question. I love that. I love the idea of infrastructure, I love the idea of development, I like the idea of growth. Now what I think tonight's title is so appropriate and actually this is, you know, key, right. This is that they need more xrp. Why do they need more xrp? Because if these companies are actually building systems to scale, this really isn't about buying XRP because it's speculative. It's actually about having asset access to the actual asset that is going to help power the network in general. Now that's a very different way of thinking about it. Why? Because Most of the YouTube fanboys out there are thinking about what? Oh yeah, they're thinking about the speculative nature of the XRP asset. Well, in actuality, as we start connecting all the dots and you start seeing all the companies and the infrastructure that are building. Right. They're actually building the network. Much, much different thought process that goes into that. Sometimes you gotta be able to connect the dots like we do. And I think Chip and I are the only ones that seem to do that over here on YouTube. Now let's start with this grayscale interview because I think it actually gives us a window into exactly how Ripple has positioned itself for institutional adoption.

with mastercard, with JP Morgan, with Ondo Finance, where trades are settling on the XRP ledger. Very exciting. Last week we had a big announcement on OKEx specifically for our stablecoin rousd for both spot and derivatives trading, use of collateral, a number of different things we're doing with them. And so from a stablecoin perspective we launched a little over a year almost coming up on a year and a half, very strong momentum not only in market cap growth at 1 billion6 but more importantly to us the longer term utility that we're seeing a lot of focus first on getting availability around all the major exchanges were we're basically everywhere we want to be. Market makers are there. The custodians are starting to support it more and more. And so now that we've got availability and infrastructure built, now it's really focusing on long term use cases.

Legacy asset managers continue to build in the crypto space, despite the pullback in prices. That's a good point. That's something that, you know, needs to be talked about. You're not kind of like, whoa, let's time the market. No, no, just release it and let it work.

You got batch BE batch transactions. You got confidential transfers. That's for privacy. Good. Sponsored fees and reserves. You got permission, delegation, dynamic MPT and a bundle fixed a bundled fix. Performance improvements up to 40. Memory reduction on some machines. Best case, at least 10 to 15 though. Big fluctuation there. I guess it depends on what you're running. And then reduced likelihood to get out of the sync for nodes and validators and lots of other splashy type improvements of the XRP ledger code base. So a lot of stuff happening. Jeff, I like, I like to get some definition of what the M dynamic MPT is, but I'm liking the idea of the confidential transfers. I like the idea of being able to batch, you know, I like a lot of the general improvements across the xrpl, you know, that are really critical, especially, you know, as we're starting to move more into smart contract and rolling this out in real time. So there you go. Dynamic multipurpose tokens. Dynamic MPTS refer to the proposed XLS 94 standard, which allows issuers to mark specific token properties as immutable during creation, while standard MPTs have immutable onchain metadata. Once issued, dynamic MPTs empower issuers to modify selected attributes as business needs evolved. I like that idea.

And you know, it's so funny. Like for some reason I'm gonna see if I can find the original post here because it might be important to. You know, it's weird because I was looking for this earlier. Let's see. You know something, I know minus posted this, but it's got a lot of pickup. There's been a lot of weird stuff going on about flare lately. You know, people doubting flare, wondering about flair. I mean, pretty much anything and everything. So I'm gonna try to see if I can find his post about this. I don't know if I can find it because I know I even commented on it, but when I'm looking for it, let's see, was it today.

But we've seen, we've seen kind of this, this idea notion of people kind of backlashing against flair ever since the Songbird airdrop And then the 30, imagine it was a 36 month rollout. And I can remember, we look back at that period of time, we're like, oh my God, 36 month rollout, that's going to be forever. And then all of a sudden this past year it ended and you look back, you're like, holy, 36 months just flew by. And in the terms of crypto development and ecosystem and software expansion, all the things that are going on, Chip, if We look back 36 months ago to where, you know, a little more now because that ended, you know, not, not just recently, but if you look back at the overall development within the crypto space, it was all crypto, crypto, crypto blockchain. It was kind of the forefront of all the development, all the technology. We're thinking about smart contracts and we're thinking what else could outdo blockchain? And then all of a sudden what rears its head? AI. And now AI coming to a completely different level. Now we have agentic payments and we have all these other things that are, are happening that now we have to see more development. I think the development of crypto blockchain coming more in sync with traditional financial infrastructure and then AI being able to tap into it. Now if we think about how we can expand on crypto blockchain and fast payment infrastructure, crypto or AI definitely agentic payment definitely needs streamlined fast payment infrastructure cannot live and exist on legacy infrastructure. So we're going to see, you know, definitely, and we've talked about this for weeks, the combining of these two technologies. Lots and lots of things happening. Crypto. What does crypto and AI have in common? Big data centers. You need big data center. A lot of production or a lot of calculation. You need validators. You need it to be on a global scale. AI obviously at a much higher infrastructure requirement. But still, you know, all the hashing power and computer power and this dynamic of where we're moving Chip, I think, you know, we're onto something that, you know, I've watched a lot of videos recently that are talking about how we're out of sync in our timelines. Like something happened maybe 2012, maybe a little bit forward and it seems like, you know, things went out a little bit out of sync and you know, we have kind of the nuts, you know, coming out of the closet, politically speaking, and, and elsewhere. But it just seems like things maybe were out of sync, you know. But we look at this development and the pace of AI, at how fast AI is developing. I don't even know how you stop it at this point or not stop it. But you know, it Chip, where, where do we see this going, you know, in this interface between AI and blockchain? I, I feel like, you know, it's all happened like in the past 24 months.

Yeah. I mean, plus these frontier models, you got things coming out of China that are besting it. Less price. They're flooding the market with this, with, with Chinese stuff. And you know, the Chinese are, are notorious for stealing IP intellectual property and people are like, oh, it's all the rage because there's no. You can, you can. It basically ignores all copyright restrictions and there's no sensitivity. You want it to auto code and do, and, and do a security audit. Yeah, no problem. Yeah, it's no problem now. But just imagine what's coming. I mean, I think at some point the government has to let off. You can't try to hamstring innovation. It's like innovation or it's not. And the right people have the right stuff in place to counterbalance it. Because the open model, open source models that are coming out of China are just too powerful. There's been two. You had Kimi three, you had this other one that was just released yesterday that's way too powerful. You're not going to stop in a special open source. Now, open source isn't the, It's. I don't even know if it's. It was open source. Like the Kimi 3 was open source for a little bit. Then also they were stripped, stripped the open source. And then when people started actually analyzing, one guy said it did, it ran for 10 hours straight. It did all of his bugs, all of his security improvements because he said that when he tried to run it on, on Fable, which is Anthropic's frontier model, it kicked it down to Opus 4.8 and he said so that wasn't what I wanted. But you know, obviously that's what happens when you have the guardrails in place. This guy that ran it through Kimi3 said he spent $250. I thought it was kind of high. I was like, it doesn't seem like it's that much cheaper. But that's because he ran through open router and he also ran with Bitcoin. So he's no kyc and he was Kind of like basically being anonymous. But I mean, if that stuff's running back to the cloud, they're taking. They're analyzing your code, right? So that's the part of it. If you're running something, you got something that's next level, you're running, making a new SaaS product, whatever it is, it's auditing your code, it's looking at your code. I mean, if it's heading back to the cloud, don't think that. That. I don't think that. I mean, do I trust any AI company? No open AI, anthropic. I trust them a lot more than I trust the Chinese model, Jeff. And. And when it. And as applies to blockchain, we got the same thing in play, right? Blockchain will keep all of the AI basically honest because it's all on the blockchain. It's all recorded. It's. It makes a lot of sense. But we're getting to the point right now where, I don't know, 2026 is an inflection moment when it comes to AI. And when I see the AI wars and I see all my. I'm in a group chat with a bunch of AI people who are pretty amazing and building freaking awesome things, and they're like, the Chinese models. Europe, the U.S. is dead. Forget the U.S. i'm like, yeah, we'll root against the U.S. all you want. You know, I wouldn't root against Elon Musk. You want to know why? Because anything he puts his mind to, he conquers. And he was the co founder and OpenAI. And it was supposed to never be a for profit, and then it became a for profit, and Elon Musk went to court and sued, and nothing came of that. So he went out and settled in 2047 to build my own. Oh, he is. And I would think his models are going to be pretty superior because he has a lot of money to throw at it, but I think they'll be more efficient too. A guy that can catch the largest rocket ever flown with chopsticks and then launch it again, that's the guy I'll put my money on.

Well, you already won the World cup, man. Good job, Good job. And I kind of thought Spain was gonna win. Three minutes into the game, I said, spain, if Spain doesn't win this, it would be a travesty because Spain dominated that game. It was just it was, it was domination. And I gotta say that the keeper for, for, for Argentina, man, there was so many nice things I thought would have been goals. He stopped at 20 shots and then landed, you know, a bunch on goal. 20 shots being had. Meanwhile Argentina had zero. Okay, so Spain, absolutely 100 deserved to win that.

Mike, John is saying if the Clarity act doesn't get signed by August 7, then XRP is a dead horse. I don't think Clarity Act, I think there's a lot of talk, they're, they're trying to get it aside, but I think if it doesn't it then it moves on to the next Congress. And so we're looking at 20, 27 kind of where, where that's going. I don't, I'm not confident that it gets signed in the next two weeks.

Well, that's because the problem is they start, look, the Democrats start raising all this stuff. The ethics issue, the ethics issue. Oh, they're never concerned about the ethics issue and the amount of money they make with stocks. Right. Every one of them goes in there poor as hell and all of a sudden they become multi millionaires. They have all the inside information. If you and I were to do that would be inside stock, insider trading. But not them. No, no, they have advanced information. They say that, oh, they don't do anything. They can make one call, they're whatever, you know, companies running their stocks for them. But they all do it on both sides of the aisle. But they're worried about Trump because Trump made over a billion dollars in, in crypto. So what, what are you gonna do? You can stop them from making money in his hotels too. What are you gonna do? You stop making from money in the, in the open market.

Who's actually making money with these other frauds? They don't have businesses, they're not producing anything. They do nothing to make money except for defraud the American people. Then they go out, get a book deal, they get kickbacks, they come out, get a consulting gig, their family member gets a consulting gig, their family member sells art. The whole thing is a fraud. I mean it's, it's such a high fraud. Think about what's her name? Elon OMAR. They reported 30 million in, in, they in, in, in value. And so you know, if you think they're reporting that they had a net worth of $30 million and then they're. This so called winery wasn't producing anything. Then they went back, redid their accounting. Why? Because USA disappeared. But they go back, redo their accounting and what it, what was it like a net loss of like $3,000. So it went from a net. They, they had a 30 million like loss, right? Net value of 30 million. They were a net worth of 30 million to. They're worth nothing. And why is that? Because they were anticipating the kickbacks. Just like Joe Biden's kickback with this book deal, which is a fraud. His son with Art Obama with his book deal when he was running for president back in, in 27, 2007 for, you know, when he's elected in 2008, he had a book deal, they front of him a million dollars. I mean the whole thing, it's all, we were talking about this a lot, you know, and you were talking about how they put the New York best bestseller. And then they're at Costco, they're stacked, you know, floor to ceiling. Basically nobody buys the books. But it's such an easy way deceptive practice of laundering and moving money. It's such a, such a fraud. And so here we go now, you know, we have. And so they hyper focus on Trump who actually has, you know, businesses that are producing lots of money that aren't run by him at this point, but, you know, do bear his name and you know, it's all part within the Trump family. So that's what they're going to hyper focus on. But this is again coming from political elected bureaucrats that have never worked a day in their life. They've been career politicians like Bernie Sanders has never worked an honest day of his life. Joe Biden should have failed out of law school when he was caught, you know, cheating. But he didn't fail at a law school when he should have, he should have, you know, he should have never been able to run for another elected office when they found out that he was plagiarizing. And so they found they caught him plagiarizing. He had to stop running for elected office because of plagiarism twice. And yet he still runs again. And so this is the, either the American electorate are stupid and they're going to keep electing fraud and, and, and career criminals, you know, or they, they love the fraud. And I think that's probably what it is, you know, on the left at least, and I know it's on the right as well. I know there's Republican rhinos out there that are out there specifically and strictly for the money. And you look at like a Marjorie Taylor Greene who left office and all of a sudden her net worth increases in double digit millions. But you look at These types of individuals, the corruptive nature of these people once they get into political office and it's such a deceptive practice because then they hyper focus again on Trump who spent his entire life in business making money. And yet these people have done zero to benefit the economy, have never hired anybody, and here they go, you know, they kind of get away with it. And then like you said, they're hyper focused on, on crypto. Oh, crypto. Let's not let people make money on crypto. While Nancy Pelosi's made tons and tons of money out of the stock, you know, stock market. So go figure. It's crazy, crazy stuff.

Says Jeff Rome says, hey, just an FYI, even when Clarity gets signed, it doesn't get enacted until 360 days. No, that's not exactly true. What, what happens once it gets established? There's a phase compliance rollout. So you think about like this, the SEC and the CFTC have 360 days to actually like make do the rulemaking part of it, however, what, what it really does, it buys a full year for companies to get in compliance. So it will be the law of the land. But again, it's more like the enforcement doesn't take effect, but everything else in it takes effect. So everything that we're relying on as far as companies are concerned takes no effect. So you got that kind of partially right. But it's not like, oh, it's not going to take effect. Like there's like a big a year waiting period. It really comes down to the sec, cftc, I don't say it the reverse way. CFTC will probably be, you know, according to the Clarity will be the, the governing body. In some instances it will fall to the sec, but it's very rare because most of the regulatory body will be the cftc. And it's kind of good, you want to give enough time for these other companies, for companies that are doing to kind of come into compliance. Right. So it's kind of like it's buying them some time. But one, once it gets signed, as far as the rules of the road, consider them to be in place. So there's, that's part of it.

It is not going to solve our energy problems. The reason why I think that it is good that Burnham is more positive about this and we will see exactly what he's going to say over the weekends. We just had speculation and briefings, briefings and counter briefings and then U turns. Let's just wait and see what the Prime Minister is going to say, what the new Prime Minister is going to say. I want. I want him to give the green light for more drilling in the North Sea, but it's not going to solve our problems. And this is where I think that the intervention from Donald Trump is so negative. I think that it makes the problem worse. I think that it makes politically more difficult to take good decisions.
