Oh, These fries are a little bit locally famous. They are fried in duck fat, and they have parmesan cheese and rosemary on them. They are super good.
B
They smell amazing.
A
Oh, they are amazing.
B
All right. Well, I'm thinking I shouldn't order the large.
A
It's okay.
B
Rebecca, people often ask me, what is franchising and why do people do it? What's your view on that?
A
Well, I think I have a really good view on that because I didn't really know anything about franchising before my journey. I really thought fast food, right? That's what a lot of people know, fast food restaurants. But then I got exposed to it, and what I really realized is franchising is a structure that you can basically pick a business model, a support team, and then you can be your own business owner with all the support of a bigger organization.
B
What has been the most difficult thing for you so far during the process?
A
The leap of faith at the beginning was really hard because leaving a steady salary, a paycheck every week, just kind of jumping into the unknown, that was pretty scary. But once it got through that initial shock of the whole thing, then it's been fun.
B
If somebody contacted you today and asked for your advice or experience on franchising, what would you tell them?
A
I would tell them it's really important to research the brand that they're going to buy. Not all franchises are created equal. 8. And I've heard some pretty scary stories, actually, about franchises that didn't live up to what people were expecting. But throughout the process, if you call and validate with current franchisees, that's really your best first step to understanding if it's gonna be a fit for you. So something I would also want people to know is that your skills from corporate do translate really well. That was what I was nervous about too, because I wouldn't have called myself entrepreneurial without before. But now I'm like, oh, all these skills that I learned, they do apply. And having that system and the product to work with it just like married right together. I remember during my validation of the designery talking with the brand president, and I was like, well, I don't really know cabinets. And he kind of laughed. He goes, oh, we can teach you cabinets. That's not the problem. So I think also people shouldn't be afraid if they're exploring a brand that maybe they don't know fences or cabinets or they never cleaned a window before. It doesn't really matter. Yes, a good franchise will teach you the nuts and bolts of the product, but if you have the enthusiasm, the energy, the passion wanting to get out your community and do the work. That part's the easy part.
B
Oh, sky's the limit. Especially in property services, where good companies are hard to find. So. So if you bring your leadership, you bring your curiosity, you bring all those years of corporate training that you've had, and you bring that to bear in building a great. Being a leader in your community, in that industry. Sky's the limit.
A
Yeah, absolutely.
B
We're so proud to be in business with you and Ted and the boys, and this has been an incredible visit. It's a wonderful town. We've been treated so well, and I know that you're going to be a mainstay and a fixture of this community for many years to come.
A
Absolutely. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you.
B
Yeah. There's only three words that are left to be said, and you know what they are.
A
Yeah. That's a wrap.
B
That's a wrap.
A
Yeah. Maybe later. I'm kind of busy right now.
B
Do you want me to take care of them? Great looking, great looking young man. I don't know what to say about this guy. I just, you know, handsome. Very handsome. Handsome. No, we've. That's why I stopped. All right, Rebecca. Well, we're here at the Habitat. This is I. Blah. So the next step. Blah. They're golf balls, they're. Then they're softballs, then they're golf balls, then they're softballs.
A
Okay. Yeah. Why don't we go now? Okay.
B
All right, let's. Great. Lit's great. Lit's great right now. Do you have any cheese?
A
That's great. Ra.
