If you want to hear the full thing, which I highly recommend, sign up for our patreon@patreon.com Otherworld you could hear this one and all of the other bonus episodes that we have up there. The story you're about to hear is one that I've been holding onto for quite a long time, and I'm pretty excited about it. I love this story, but at the same time, it's definitely far out there. It's about a woman named Carrie who is a hairstylist. And at the time, she was traveling out of State to St. Louis for about a month, I believe, for a series of training courses for the salon that she worked at. During this training, her and the other stylists would stay at a hotel together, and they got to know each other pretty well. She hit it off with a stylist named Polly, and one night, things take a very sharp turn when Polly asks Carrie if she believes in aliens. I'm going to leave it there because I don't want to spoil anything. Like I said, I'm very excited about this one. This episode is called Poly, and you're listening to the Otherworld Patreon.
Carrie
I remember the second week that Sheri wasn't as involved with us. She had a lot of stress from being away from home because she had kids. And I think that she was just, like, exhausted. And she would go back to her hotel room a little bit earlier and talk to her husband and her kids. And so that would just leave Polly and I after class. And sometimes I would be in her hotel room, other times she would be in mine. And so the two of us would really talk a lot about some really crazy experiences. And she had tons of them. She had so many stories. And very quickly that second week, I want to even say that first night back that she started telling stories about things that she would see while she was living in the desert and all of this other stuff. And immediately I was like, okay, love you. But I can't hear that. Like, that is the one thing that I am so afraid of. And she's like, really? And I was like, yeah. Like, I have no shame with it. I am terrified. I don't want to hear anything hard. No. At first she was like, okay. She's like. But, you know, this part was sort of always stuck out to me. She's like, you know, there's energy in everything. And all you have to do is just understand the energy behind it and you'll be fine. And to a 19 year old girl, I was like, what are you talking about, energy? Like, what? And then she, she's like, yeah, energy, like it just pours out of you, like all you have to do. And she was so matter of fact about it that I was just sort of swept up in whatever she was telling me. As long as we weren't talking about aliens, I was along for the ride, you know, just so relieved we weren't talking about aliens anymore. And I was like, oh, okay. What do you, what do you mean? She's like, well, if you hold out your hands, you can build up energy in your hands and you can even feel it. And. And then she would hold her hands and she'd be like, here, put your hands under mine and you can feel the energy coming off of my hands. And I would be like, okay. And she was like, do you feel that? And I was like, yeah, I do feel that. Why do I feel that? And I remember like thinking like normal people do, they feel stuff like this, is this something that I just don't know about? And she's like, now, now like cup your hand and like really like pretend like you can build it up in your hand and I'm gonna push it down. And when she did that, I felt like this really strange static. Like, you know when you like go to touch an elevator button and it's that static and it's like sharp on your finger and you're like, ah. I felt that in the middle of my palm and it almost like sparked like there was only one lamp on in the room. It wasn't like everything was lit up like a Christmas tree. It was dim enough where you could almost see like static. And I was like, oh my gosh, it must be so dry in here for having static that strong. And I pulled my hand, I remember pulling my hands out and I was like, okay, that was weird. And she's like, yeah, it's just energy. And I was like, okay. And I'm sure we talked about other things, but we didn't go back to that because I was like, no, thank you, I'm done with that. That was weird. The next night came and again. She immediately brought up aliens and the experiences. More stories about living in the desert at this point. She talked about how she had a brother who had some really strange experiences living out in the desert. He still lived there. And I'm like, again, I can't hear this stuff. And she just kept bringing it up to the point where. I remember that last night that we hung out, I almost had, like, a little bit of, like, not anxiety, but, like, nervousness, like, to talk. Because I was like, she's gonna bring it up again, and I'm not gonna be able to sleep. It's gonna be a whole thing. I gotta travel. You know what I mean? Like, I just. I knew she was gonna bring it up again. And I remember we would be going in and out of the balcony, and it was just a very basic hotel room. There would be. There was a desk with a lamp on it, with a chair. There was, like a. The comfortable reclining chair and a bed. And then she had the balcony doors. And so we were kind of going in and out of the balcony. Cause I would go out and smoke. And especially that evening, I was really, really nervous. So I kept doing it. Like, I was just. Like, I just. I was so antsy talking to her. And I remember we stood out on the balcony. The air was fine and cool because it was very muggy. It was St. Louis, so it was just really hot and muggy. And so the air in the evening felt a lot better. And. And finally, I'm just sort of. I remember leaning on the rails and I can see, like, the, you know, the parking lot and, you know, some of, like, the landscaping. And she started talking about the difference between aliens. I remember her mentioning specifically green aliens and the gray aliens.
