This is just a short preview of this week's bonus Patreon episode that is available@patreon.com Otherworld We've actually been posting a lot of bonus episodes recently, and I always forget to promote them. This one is a story that comes from a guy named Rick who had a UFO encounter with his friend Mike while they were in middle school. They were outside at dusk in a rural area when suddenly they saw some sort of craft falling from the sky. Not only is this episode about UFOs, it's also an episode about how funny male friendships can be, especially when you're young. I really enjoyed talking to these two and thought that this story, aside from the UFO part, really reminded me of my own childhood and growing up. I loved it. I think you will too. So back when I was 12, it was just going to be another typical day, going up to Mike's hanging out, running around, hunt for frogs and salamanders in the pond next to next to his house and stuff like that. So just a pretty typical, typical day. And it was winding down, the sun's starting to go down. And I remember the detail that I remember most is that Michael had this crush on this girl. And we're sitting under that willow tree on that. On that swing set. It was just him. He was on the set, swing set, and facing out towards the fields while I was facing towards the road. I'm kind of just listening in on the conversation that he's having with this girl, just being his hype man, I guess. And I remember the cut. Maybe the conversation ended and he. We're just talking about it probably, and he points over my shoulder and he just says, look. And I turn around and there's this thing falling from the sky. It looked like a satellite, like things protruding off of it. Probably the way I described it was size of like a prop plane. And at first I really did think it was some kind of plane that was falling that maybe had engine trouble or something that was crashing to the ground. So immediately it was kind of scary because that's just a terrifying thing to either watch or be a part of. And then started to notice that it had some things coming off of it that don't make up the shape of a plane. The shape of the craft reminded me a lot of the rook piece from chess and Then on the craft, there were just a lot of these weird, I guess you could call them antenna or some shape just protruding off of it. I remember that distinctly just because of how of a weird of a shape it was, and so unnatural it was. And it had lights all around it. Not in, like, a circle or something like that, but like, just randomly kind of around on it. And they were all changing color at the same time. Green to red to blue, orange. And they weren't rotating. But I feel like I can make this make out the shape just a little bit. And they were just in that, like, a bulbous kind of shape. So that's another reason why I knew it wasn't a plane, because I was like, those lights don't add up to what a plane would have. These ones were just kind of placed all over. The only color of the craft that I saw was, again, those lights. But other than that, it was pitch black as we're watching it fall. I mean, my jaw must have been on the floor, and it was terrifying. It really was. It was just falling at such a steady pace that I swear it was gonna crash pretty much right in front of us, and we were gonna at least hear it. But as soon as it dipped behind the tree line, it just disappeared. There was no sound and absolutely no kind of sign that anything was there.
