So we appreciate you. You're the only reason that we get to do what we do and have fun doing it. So make sure you leave a comment, go ahead and tell us who you want us to talk to, what topics you want us to talk about, and we'll make sure we go ahead and get that rolling for get to the opening drive. All right, people, the opening drive this week is about Arch Manning. That's right. The generational talent that had his season debut against Ohio State, the number three team in the country in Ohio State. And it was not pretty. The bottom line is Archie Manning struggled. And it's okay to say that, but people built him up just for this very reason to tear him down. So when you look at Arch Manning, yes, he struggled, yes, he didn't read with his feet. What that means is he wasn't going through his progressions and being on time with the throws that he was making. And when he was on time with the throws that he was making, a lot of times he looked like his shoulder was hurt or he was sidearming throws or not getting all the way through them. So his ball kept diving towards guys ankles. And when I watched that, I said to myself, okay, if he's not hurt, then this is just a situation where he's a young kid who's had three starts in his college career and he struggled. And he's allowed to struggle. For instance, Colt McCoy, one of the greatest college quarterbacks of all time, struggled in his first Power Four matchup against Ohio State. He went 19 to 32 for 166 yards, one touchdown and one interception in a 24 to 7 loss. So if Cole McCoy struggled in his first matchup against Ohio State, a highly ranked team, why can't Arch Manning? Oh, you're just making excuses. Nope, no excuses. For Arch, he struggled. And it's okay to say that. We watched the tape and you can see that he missed some throws and he missed some reads. But you know who else struggled in their first game against a power 4 turn opponent? How about Peyton Manning. That's right. Peyton Manning struggled in his first matchup against number 17 Washington State in a close 10 to 9 game where Tennessee did win. But Peyton was 7 of 14 for 79 yards, no touchdowns and no picks. Last time I checked, both of those guys ended up becoming all time greats in college. And Peyton ultimately became one of the greatest quarterbacks ever in NFL history. So yes, Arch struggled. I don't know how many times you can say that. Nobody will cap for Arch Manning and say that he actually played great. He didn't. But how he responds will determine the trajectory of the Texas Longhorn season and also his career as a quarterback. Because moments like this can either make you or break you. But people, let's, let's dive a little deeper here. People are actually using Arch Manning struggles to take shots at the Mannings. You see, Arch Manning has become a hate watch like, like I've never seen before. You know, like people used to watch Floyd Mayweather Jr. Fight and they, they would really watch because they wanted to see him fail, they wanted to see him get knocked out, they wanted to see him lose. And it just never happened for Floyd. But here's Arch Manning getting all the praise, people building him up saying that he's, he's going to be the number one pick in the draft. He still could be. Heck, I said that. I think some teams are trying to tank to get him and they just might be. Heck, the Browns were, were in attendance and last time I checked, owners don't go to see pass rushes and tackles play, they go to see quarterbacks play. So they were either there to watch Arch Manning or watch Julian saying. Cause Jeremiah Smith can't come out till 2027. So they gonna have a lot of chances to see him. But I digress on that. People are watching Arch Manning because they want to see him fail. A lot of people in the media in particular are taking this as an opportunity to attack the Mannings because for so many years they haven't had a chance to. Why? Because Peyton won two Super Bowls or Eli won two Super Bowls and they haven't had an opportunity to go after them. Because the Mannings are considered the first family of football, they're rarely criticized. Peyton and Eli are enjoying retirement, doing the TV stuff in the media game, having a Good time doing the commercials. Everyone's laughing and having a good time, but some of those people that have been laughing and having a good time with them have been waiting for an opportunity, just waiting for an opportunity to attack that name of the Mannings. And quite honestly, it's been sad to see because they've been doing a lot for them retweets and them likes going after Arch Manning, a young man who isn't even Peyton or Eli's son. He's Cooper Manning's son, a young man who's earned it every single step of the way. As far as him being the starting quarterback at the University of Texas, a young man who sat and bided his time behind Quinn Ewers, learned the offense and he struggled in their first game. There's nothing wrong with that. To. To tear down his future. To say that he cannot amount to anything now because he lost a game to Ohio State, to the Ohio State Buckeyes, and he struggled in that game. He. He now cannot do anything for the. For the rest of his football future is wrong. I mean, I. He missed a few throws and came up short in the game, so now all of a sudden, he can't play football and he won't ever be good at football. That's not right. But life's not fair, and Arch is going to have to overcome this. But I think Archie Manning will be fine. As long as he learns from his mistakes, he will be fine. But to watch people hate. Watch this young man because they want to get back at Peyton and Eli. I even saw a meme that had Peyton and Eli with, you know, a little angry face pointing, and it said he's adopted, essentially saying, this guy can't be a Manning. Well, I think that's a little too far. But Arch Manning is going to have to prove everybody wrong. And what I would encourage Arch Manning to do is to not overreact to one bad game. Young man, you're here for a reason. You're playing for a reason. And it's up to you to show everybody that that reason isn't just because of the name on the back of your jersey. But please, Arch, please remember everyone who came at you and attacked you, who was smiling in your face, and make sure when you are successful, you force them to go on those same TV networks, those same radio airwaves, those same podcasts, and have to sing your praises. And when they come to shake your hand, you don't gotta shake it. You just keep going and doing your thing because they didn't believe in you. I believe in you, Arch Manning. Texas Longhorns believe in you, Arch Manning. Go prove us right. Viral spiral. Taylor Townsend versus Jelena Ostapenko. Now, if you guys don't know, this story has been going viral online. Taylor Townsend Defeated Jelena Ostapenko, 7561 at the US Open. At the end of the match, they approach each other, customary, you know, shake hands. Good match, go your separate ways. You know, the winner obviously gets celebrated with the crowd. The loser packs their bags, has to walk of shame. Okay, so when this is going on, they got into a verbal confrontation. Both players went back and forth, and Ostapenko ended up waving her finger in the face of. Of Taylor Townsend. And Townsend eventually ended up walking away from Ostapenco, threw her racket on the ground, and celebrated with the crowd. Right? Everybody's going crazy. Well, after this, Taylor Townsend ended up calling out Ostapenko, telling the people what Osapenko told her, essentially saying that she felt like Osapenko was being a sore loser, and then followed it up with Ostapenco, said that she had no class and no education. And they'll see what happens when they face off head to head outside of the U.S. now, this thing took off because, really, with everything that black people have been through in America, especially black women, when somebody says something to the effect of, you have no class and no education, it becomes something of racial stereotyping towards black women. And the bottom line is Osapenko came out and apologized because she said she's never been racist a day in her life. But Osapenko was wrong. At the end of the day, when you're in sports, all the young athletes out there and the parents, when you win, you get to celebrate however you want. As long as it's not breaking the law, you get to celebrate however you want. So if you're on the losing side of that, you just have to take the L and move on. Take the L and go about your business. If you don't want to see them doing whatever they're doing, don't watch. If you want them to not celebrate, win. And in this case, Ostapenko didn't win. And then she proceeded to be a sore loser and said something that she claimed was only pertaining to tennis, but it had the background history of in America being a racial stereotype. And that, to me, is just word to the wise. You go to a foreign country, you got to know the customs and the traditions and the history of that country. So Ostapenko Coming over to America and telling a black woman that she has no class and no education isn't just a massive mistake. It's not knowing how to read the room. And in this case, she was dead wrong. Take the L and move on. If you don't like what your opponent is doing in celebration of winning, stop him by winning. Period. Viral Spiral the Dallas Cowboys are trying to make you forget that they traded away Micah Parsons by paying cornerback Daron Bland. Now, I ain't never mad at a guy for getting his money. Daron Bland led the NFL in interceptions and pick sixes, should I say, a couple seasons ago, and got a massive extension this past week from the Dallas Cowboys. I'm happy for Duron Bland. But when you trade away your actual generational talent at defensive end who's done something in his first four seasons that only Reggie White has done when it comes to getting at least 12 sacks in each of those seasons, paying Duron Bland an extension is not going to make people forget about that. Let's put it this way, who has a better chance of winning the super bowl now? The Dallas Cowboys without Micah Parsons. But with Duron Bland or the Green Bay packers with Micah Parsons, I would say that the packers have a better chance of winning the Super Bowl. Yes, they've got some question marks at wide receiver of who's going to be healthy and who's going to be available. But that's why you have Jordan Love there and that's why you pay Jordan Love to be able to make up for the lack or having people in and out of your roster at wide receiver. What Micah Parsons does is he gives the Green Bay Packers a closer. You see it all the time. Remember when Aaron Donald in the in the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl. Aaron Donald was quiet most of the game because they were double teaming and doing all these things. But when the Cincinnati Bengals had to drive the ball down the field to try to go win, who closed out the game? Aaron Donald. Micah Parsons has that level of impact on a football game. So no, paying Duron Bland is not going to make us forget about the decision you made to get rid of your generational talent and only get back two first round picks. And Kenny Clark. Shout out to Kenny Clark, great player, great run defender. But if you trading away Michael Parsons, you got to get at least three to four first round picks. And guess what? The thing is those two first round picks that the Dallas Cowboys ended up getting, you know who you're hoping they become when you draft them. You're hoping they become Michael Parsons. But Micah Parsons isn't some 33 year old football player who's only got a couple years left. Micah Parsons is 26 and in his prime. Payne Duron Bland isn't going to make us forget that you made the Green Bay packers better while making your football team worse. Let that sink in. I'm happy for Daron Bland, but I'm extremely sad for Cowboys fans. Viral Spiral Tom Brady gets his Broadcasting Restrictions lifted by the NFL. What does that mean? Well, last year the NFL said that Tom Brady would not be able to take part in production meetings with the individual teams because of his ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. Essentially, he wouldn't be have the chance to sit down with coaches and players to prepare him for the broadcast. Now, the world of calling games is a little mysterious. People don't know that much. But if you asked any experienced broadcaster, the information that you get from the players and the coaches in those production meetings is about 70 to 80% of what you use on the air. Why? You're watching tape, you're breaking it down, you're understanding the scheme. But part of being a broadcaster is telling the stories of the players and the coaches. And yes, there's a lot of information out there that is readily available that anyone can read. But nothing is better than the firsthand information you receive from a player about his own story or a coach about his own thought process. So this is going to be huge for Tom Brady. We already saw Brady, who is who I'm now teammates with and honored to be teammates with at Fox Sports. We saw him grow and evolve throughout the year as a broadcaster. Him now being allowed to be in those production meetings is only going to make him that much more exponentially better. I'm excited for Tom Brady. I'm excited for Fox Sports because not only are we family, but Tom Brady's the greatest football player of all time and he is on a quest to try to become the greatest in the booth as well. I'm right there with him and I know just how much these meetings mean to the craft. Congrats to Tom Brady. I don't think it's a problem. I don't think his ownership stake in the, in the Raiders really has any bearing on on his ability to call a game or not call a game. The NFL wants Tom Brady to be successful because Fox Sports is such a big partner for them. So if he can be better in the booth by being in the meetings, I understand exactly why they're allowing him. All right, people, let's get to the Deep Route brought to you by the RG3 foundation, where we are helping end food insecurity. We're going to bring you the biggest stories in sports and take a little bit of a deeper dive into them. And today we're going to talk about how it was a mistake for Nico I Amalieva to leave Tennessee. If you don't know the story about Nico, I call him Nico Lama Llama, but his last name is actually pronounced Nico I Amalieva. He left Tennessee because there was a dispute between him and the university about how much money he was making. So as he entered the transfer portal, he transferred to ucla. If you look at the California laws, whatever you're making in California, it has to be significantly more than what you'd be making in Knoxville, Tennessee to warrant it Just being more money. Now, there were always also some rumblings about how Nico did not love the offense that was being run there at Tennessee, but to the general viewer, they saw that he left and went to UCLA on the perception that it was just for more money. Now, whether that was right or not, we live in a world now of nil and college football where players are being pressured to do things just for the money. And I'm not saying that that was Nico's case, but sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side. For instance, UCLA, in their first game of the season, lost 43 to 10 to Utah. Nico was 11 to 22 for 136 yards, one touchdown and one pick with a QBR of 50.4. Wasn't great. He ran the ball 13 times for 47 yards. Tennessee ended up beating Syracuse 45 to 26, and Joey Aguilar, who was at App State the year before, lit it up. Many people actually believe that Joey Aguilar might be a better fit for Josh Hypo and Tennessee's system. I can't go so far as to say that yet because it's only been one game, but what I can say as the overall feeling coming out of week one was that Nico Lama Lama made a mistake. I had a coach tell me recently that they had a player who was told that if he went into the transfer portal that he would make $800,000. There are a number of schools that were offering him $800,000 a year to transfer to them, and when the athlete got into the portal, they realized that their agent had lied to them. Now, this athlete loved the school that they were at. They loved being there, but they're like, oh man, I'm not making 800,000 here, and my agent is telling me that I can make 800,000. There's multiple schools offering that to me. I'd be a fool not to go into the transfer portal not knowing that that agent the entire time was simply just trying to get them to go in the portal so they could have another crack and making more money off of them and moving a player into the school that they were already at for more money. That player ended up at a university that was a step below the school that they were at, making the same amount of money with less opportunity. So when I look in Nico's situation, Nico has always been deemed one of the best quarterbacks in the country. Six foot five, big arm, unlimited potential because of his mobility and his arm talent. But Nico is a cautionary tale that it's not always the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Sometimes as an athlete, you have to make yourself uncomfortable so that you can get to greatness. Greatness is not easy. Greatness is not given. Greatness is earned. Sometimes with the transfer portal and nil, it doesn't allow athletes to find greatness through the grind. I'm hoping for Nico and his family that things at UCLA work out for them. Because for Nico, I amelieva, the only way that he can prove his doubters wrong now is to go be better and try to lift up a program in UCLA that's been downtrodden for the last few years. I don't want other athletes to have to go through what Nico's going through right now. As I saw him walk off the field with his head down, you could feel the weight of the world on top of him because he knew what people were going to say. And now the only thing that he can do to get it to go back the other way is to win. Go win, Nico. That's the only way you're going to rewrite the narrative. Prove yourself through your play. Let's get to the feel good story of the week. And this week's feel good story of the week is Florida State upsetting number eight, Alabama. And I know Greta is very upset that she can't be here for this one because she's a Florida State Seminole. Not to feel bad story for Alabama, but we'll get to that in a second for Florida State. We sat down with Mike Norvell and we're going to play a clip for you guys where he talks about what he used to tell, what he tell what he told recruits last year as they were in the midst of a 2 and 10 season. Listen here, I told him, same thing, I go, come here, go somewhere else. We're going to win and you're going to watch us win. Mike Norvell was fully convinced that they were going to get out of the rut that they were in and you're either going to come and win with us or you're going to watch us win. For a coach to come on a podcast in the midst of a 2 in 10 season with that level of confidence not only shows you his faith in God, but it shows you the faith that he has in the staff and his recruiting ability and it all showed up. And their ability to coach when they knocked off number eight Alabama, bringing in Gus Malzahn, the former UCF head coach who has a little bit of experience beating Alabama probably didn't hurt. But I know there were a lot of fans at Florida State who wanted Mike Norvell fired in the midst of that 2 and 10 season. I wonder how they feel now. Mike Norvell has always been a great coach and in this ever changing world of NIL and the transfer portal, it really does become a year to year thing. And what you're seeing is that when you hit on the quarterback in this NIL transfer portal era, it does unbelievable dividends and, and way and, and sways the, the, the scales for you as a team. Last year they didn't hit on DJ Uiyangalalay. This year they hit it out the park with Thomas Castellonis. Castellonis calling his shot in June and saying Alabama doesn't have Nick Saban anymore. We can throw this graphic up. Alabama doesn't have Nick Saban anymore. He ain't there to save him and I don't believe they can stop me. Then he came back at ACC media days and said we standing 10 toes down on what I said. We're not backing down from it. And then to go out there and lead your team to victory, a two score victory over the number eight ranked Alabama, Alabama Crimson Tide, that's some real gangsta shit, some real gangster. And I'm happy for Florida State fans that they have a quarterback that instills confidence in the rest of the team. And not just that, he instills confidence in the voting committee. If Florida State does what they're supposed to do the rest of the season, they will not have a repeat of two years ago where they were left out of the College Football Playoff because everybody believes now. But when you look at Alabama, we can put the sad music on because It's a sad situation. Look at this station. And we'll throw this up there as well. Nick Saban coached 230 games at Alabama, and he had four losses to unranked teams during that stretch. Kaylin DeBoer has coached 14 games at Alabama and has already lost four games to unranked opponents. Now, Kaylin DeBoer is one heck of a coach, but it's not a slap in the face to say that he's not Nick Saban. Nick Saban is the greatest college football coach of all time. And my Heisman brother, Johnny Manziel actually said something that. That. That really, really was true. He said, nobody fears Alabama anymore. And I agree the fear for Alabama is gone. But I also believe Alabama is at a tipping point right now. Alabama is on the verge. Let me. Let me say. Let me. Let me get ready. Alabama right now, post Saban is on the verge of becoming the New England Patriots, post Belichick and Brady. Kaylin DeBoer has September to prove that that statement is not true. Because you see, right now, the belief is that there's only one way to coach Alabama, and that's to coach them with an iron fist. That's to say when you see those plays on tape and those guys aren't hustling you, grilling them, you're grinding them, you're in their face, you're yelling at them in front of everybody so everyone can feel the intensity and know that you mean business. That's not Calyn DeBoer's demeanor. Caleb DeBoer has been a winner everywhere he has been. But 9 and 4 might be okay in other places. 9 and 4 is never okay. At Bama, there is an expectation of greatness, and that expectation of greatness is national championship every single year. Anything short of that isn't acceptable. And I remember training with Trent Richardson and Mark Barron, and Alabama used to have monsters out on the field. And you know why there were monsters running around, hitting people, just destroying them. You see the locker room images of these players just like savage beasts in the locker room giving motivational speeches. You know, they look so intense. You know why they were so intense? It's because they were coached that way. Not just on the field by Nick Saban, but also in the weight room by the strength coach. Alabama used to grind guys down so much that they would only last two to three years in the NFL because they had nothing left to give. That might not have been great for those players, NFL careers, but in college, they won national championships. In college, they Won a lot of games. Training with Trent Richardson and Mark Barron showed me that. In 2011, going into the 2012 draft, Trent Richardson had a busted shoulder, he couldn't bench press. He had a busted knee, he couldn't squat. Mark Barron had a destroyed shoulder, he couldn't bench press. He had, I believe, a sports hernia, he couldn't work out. And when I talked to them about their training protocols, they say, yeah, man, we're in the weight room. So squatting 600, 700 pounds, bench pressing, 400, 500 pounds, they turned us into genetic freaks on the field. But it wasn't conducive to our NFL careers. Yes, we dominated our college competition because we were bigger, faster and stronger than everybody else out there. But it took a toll on our bodies because they demanded so much of us. That is the Alabama that the Alabama fans are used to. That is the Alabama that would strike fear in the hearts of the people that they played against. Oh, you gonna get a 15 yard gain. Cool. You might get a 15 yard game, but you're gonna get a concussion to go with it. You might get a 15 yard gain, but I'm gonna give you a deep thigh bruise when I hit you with my shoulder pads. You might get a 15 yard gain, but you gonna think twice about coming across the middle. Those days of Alabama seem to be gone. But it doesn't mean that Kaylin DeBoer cannot win in his own way at Alabama. It just has to happen now. They're not going to accept another nine and four season. It doesn't matter how big the payout is, how much the, the, the, the cost that it'll be to get out of that contract. They're not going to accept another one. So the only thing that Kaylin DeBoer can do is win. Because sometimes, sometimes it's not that the coach isn't a good coach, it's that the fit isn't right. We've seen it countless times with players. They go from one system to another and they excel. Michael Penix Jr. Goes from Indiana to Washington, excels. Bo Nicks goes from Auburn to Oregon, excels. Some guys excel wherever. Caleb Williams excelled at Oklahoma, excelled at USC. Sometimes it's for the coaches as well. If Kaylin DeBoer is a great coach, but it's not working at Alabama. It could just be because of the fit. But the only person who can determine that moving forward is Kaylin DeBoer. Anything short of making it to the College Football Playoff for Alabama this year is going to have Kaylin DeBoer not at Alabama. That is just the truth. Despite the fact that he is a winning coach, despite the fact that he is a good coach. Replacing Nick Saban at Alabama comes with a massive amount of pressure. And if Kalen DeBoer cannot get Alabama into the national championship picture this year, they'll pay $70 million to get them out of there. Let's get to the hometown highlights and boy, oh boy, people, was it amazing and great to be back in the TV booth calling games for you guys this past week. Got a chance to call the Baylor Auburn game where Auburn came out and ran the ball down Baylor's throat with Jackson Arnold being their leading pass passer and also rushing for 100 yards, making a lot of people believe that Auburn may actually have what it needs this year to not just compete in the sec, but to work their way into the national championship picture. But I got to say thank you guys because the love has been unbelievable. The support, the. The cheers. Have a amazing crew to work with with Jason Benetti and Alexa Landa Story, our producer Bo Garrett and our director Darren. Really, our entire crew made me feel comfortable, made me feel a part of the team. And that's what I miss most about calling games in the booth is just that team atmosphere, being with the camera guys, being with the people who drive the trucks from game to game, the electrical people. Everyone on the team has a role and they do that role to a T. I missed that. I missed being in the pageantry of college football. I missed the moments, the breaking down the game, what the coaches should do, what they did do, how they're attacking the defense, how they're attacking the offense. And to be back into that is truly something special. So I want to say thank you guys for that. This week we're going to be calling the Colorado Delaware game. The Buffaloes versus the Fighting Blue Hens. Kaden Salter in Colorado gonna break that down for you guys and how they can maximize his ability. And then on the other side, Nick Mineguchi from Delaware is a baller. Can't wait to break down him. And what coach Ryan Carty is doing there with Delaware as they make the step up to the Division 1 level for the first time. Being in Conference USA, that's going to be a fun one. But all that aside, what I'm most excited about this week is our daughter Gamaya is turning six years old. Yeah, that's right. She's turning six. Can't believe it. Time is flying. We now have a 10 year old, an 8 year old, a 6 year old to be and a 2 year old and I'm still working for that boy, y'. All. Don't worry. I'm laying down the game trying to get the boy to come. But don't tell Greta that she's not here right now. She'll see it later. But yeah, man, just extremely blessed. Gamaya is an amazing child. Extremely gifted, smart, sweet, fun. Being a dad changes you in ways that very hard to explain. But as your girls get older and older, you start to have these thoughts of like, when they're gone, who, who are they going to marry? And it breaks you down a little bit. So I want to encourage all the dads out there to make sure you enjoy every experience you get with your children. Because at some point they're, they're gone, they're out of the house, they're living their own lives and they're not asking you to come play video games with them. They're not asking you to come draw with them or build Legos or dance or watch them do a spin move. Enjoy those moments. Those moments are everything. And all of our girls have shown us that. So just want to go ahead and give a nice, amazing happy birthday. Leave a happy birthday in the comments for Gamaya, if you don't mind, and celebrate our daughter with us. All right, now let's get to the op Top dogs. All right, so this is what we got here, people. Football's in full swing, so we're going to go ahead and give y' all our list of tops this week. Okay? First one, we're going with our top eight Heisman front runners. Number one, we're going with Garrett Nussmeier, quarterback at LSU. Helped LSU upset the Clemson Tigers going 28 to 38 for 230 yards and one touchdown. On the road. Number two, we're going with Thomas Castellonis, the quarterback for Florida State who upset the number eight ranked Alabama Crimson. Todd. Yes, he was nine to 14, but he had 152 yards off those nine completions and then 78 yards rushing in one touchdown. Number three, we're going with Miami quarterback Carson Beck. That's right, 20 at 30 for 209 yards and two touchdowns as they beat the number six ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Number four might shock some people, but I'm going with Jackson Arnold, the quarterback for The Auburn Tigers. 137 yards rushing and two touchdowns with 108 yards passing against a very good Baylor team. On the road. Number five, we're rocking with Gunner Stockton, quarterback at Georgia, goes 14 to 24 for 190 yards and two touchdowns. And then guess what? He has to add another 73 yards rushing in two touchdowns. Leading passer, leading rusher for Georgia as they defeated Marshall. Number six. Amen. Gotta watch out for this guy this year. We're going with Taylor Green, quarterback at Arkansas. He was 2431 for 322 yards and six touchdowns and also added another 41 yards rushing against Alabama A and M. I don't care who you're playing, those numbers deserve some Heisman recognition. Number seven, we're going with Marcel Reed from Texas A and m. Quarterback was 22 or 34 for 289 yards and four touchdowns. He was also A M's leading passer and leading rusher. And last but not Least, at number eight, we got Maverick McIver, quarterback from Western Kentucky, 401 yards, three touchdowns and 305 yards and five touchdowns in his first two weeks of the season. I don't care where you play at, where they draw the lines. If you got eight touchdown passes in the first two weeks of the season and 700 yards passing, you deserve to be in the Heisman. Conversation. So congratulations to Maverick. Next up, we got our top 12 college football teams. These rankings are indisputable. Okay, number one, we're going with Ohio State. Yes, they knocked off the number one team in the country in Texas, so they become the number one team in the country. Number two, we got lsu. LSU beat the number four team in the country in Clemson. So I'm putting them at number two. Then I'm going with Miami at number three. They defeated Notre Dame, highly ranked opponent. I think it's only right that it's one, Ohio State, two, lsu, three, Miami. Then at number four, I'm going with Penn State. They got a good victory, but I'm not. I'm moving them down just because the other teams played more difficult opponents and came out on top. Number five, I'm going with Georgia, also came away with a win. Number six, Oregon, came away with a win. And then I'm switching to Texas at number seven. Yes, they lost to the number three ranked team in the country, but their offense sputtered and struggled so much. I'm gonna go ahead and put them at seven, followed by Clemson at number eight. Now, this next one might surprise you, but I'm going with the Florida State Seminoles at number nine. They upset the number eight Alabama Crimson Tide. I don't care if you think that Alabama shouldn't have been there. Or whatever they were. Number eight, Florida State should be a top 10 ranked team and that's why I have them sitting there at number nine. At number ten, I'm going with Notre Dame. It was a good game. They did lose, but they lost to a top ranked team. So I'm going to put them at 10. Number 11, I'm going with Arizona State. And number 12, I'm going with Illinois. Those are the rankings. Go ahead and debate and give us your top 12 teams and in the comments and let us know why you think they should be in there. If I left. For any of the teams that you have in or if you have a different order, give us your order and tell us why. Now let's get to the top five college coaches of the week. This is a new segment for us. So number one, I'm going with Mike Norvell, Florida State head coach. After what happened last year for Florida State to come back and knock off number eight, Alabama in the first week of the season, no one gave them a chance except for Lee Corso and myself and my wife. But no one else gave them a chance to win this game and they did it. He is the number one coach of the week. Number two, I'm going with the defensive coordinator for Ohio State. Matt Patricia held Texas scoreless in the first half and only gave up seven points. And those seven points are at the very end of the game on a on a goalball that Arch Manning threw. But Matt Patricia was dialing up the defenses like he was stealing candy from a baby. Heck of a job of him. And if Ohio State can play defense like that all year, they might be right on their way to repeating his champs. Number three, I'm going with the defensive coordinator from LSU, Blake Baker. Hell comes into 10 points and stopped them on fourth and four to win the game with a masterfully set up blitz that had an overflow, not an overflow, but had the defensive line slanting to the offense's left while looping Harold Perkins Jr. Around the right side. Knowing that Cade Klubnick would try to escape the pocket and he would be flushed right to Harold Perkins Jr. Just a beautiful design and I think he deserves his flowers. At number four, I'm going with Auburn offensive coordinator Derek Nicks. Now I know Hugh Freeze calls the plays, but Derek Nicks apparently does all the first down calls and they averaged over six yards a play on first down and they also ran the ball for 301 yards on the Baylor Bears. Despite having one of the best wide receiver cores in the country they stayed patient. And if Derek Nix is the one suggestion the first downs he stayed patient in running the football on first down and didn't get greedy or or too impatient or too hungry to throw it to them stallions they have on the outside and Cam Coleman, Malcolm Simmons And Eric Singleton Jr. That to me is worthy of your flowers. Do what is working that night. And he did it. And my number 5 coach is cow head coach Justin Wilcox. Why? Because he has a absolute baller at quarterback and J. Ron Kiwi sack politely Taylor second. How I messed that name up. Let's try it again. Jaron Kiwi or Jeron Kiawe Sagapo Lutele Sagapolutelle. Now I don't know if I got that right but by the end of the night I'mma have it right because this guy is unbelievable. Let me tell you a little about his story. He ended up committing the cow in July before he flipped last July before he flipped to go to Oregon on December 4th last year. So he ends up going to Oregon. So goes through the bowl process with them, is in the Rose bowl preparation, standing on the sideline and he sees like I don't know if I have a future here at Oregon based off of who they brought in and who they're catering to. So at the last second he transfers, enters the trans transfer portal and goes to Cal. Shout out to head coach Justin Wilcox for allowing him to come back because Sagap emphasized wanting to play early in opportunities and development. And when you go sit somewhere for multiple years, it doesn't always allow you to develop if they're constantly going to be bringing in the next great transfer quarterback every single year. So Kyle got him and he went out and absolutely balled out against Oregon State, throwing for over 200 yards and three touchdowns, slinging the ball down the field with accuracy and confidence. If you don't know his name or don't know how to say his name like I do sometimes, you will by the end of this year. This young man is extremely talented. And last but not least, I got a rock with my top five teams on the rise after week 13 in college football. Number one, Florida State. Number two, Iowa State. They don't get the credit that they deserve. They don't always win pretty. But Rocco Beckett, quarterback reminds me so much of Brock Purdy it's crazy. And, and he's showing that he might be one of the best quarterbacks in the country. I think Brock Purdy, being such a successful NFL quarterback will lead more teams to give Rocco Beck an Opportunity to despite the fact that he's only six one. Number three, I'm going with South Florida. You saw him in our our viral spiral. Byron Brown, quarterback, South Florida put it on Boise State and I think they might have a real chance to jump into the rankings here in a couple of weeks. Number four, I'm going with Texas Tech. Texas Tech has the most expensive roster in all of college football and they went out there and dropped 7,000 points on their opponent this past week like they should have. So I think they're on the rise. And if they're gelling like that going in the Big 12 play, they could be real contenders for that Big 12 title. And then number five, I'm going with Tennessee. Joey Aguilar throwing the football accurately down the field. Josh Hypo in that system. Tennessee looks poised to make some noise, but they gotta continue to build. It wasn't all pretty against Syracuse, but it was pretty enough for them to get on this list. Now let's get to the couples goals segment where we do a viral couples challenge every single week. And this week, our viral challenge is me going to take care of my wife. She's not feeling well right now. That's why I had to do the episode by myself. So if you guys leave some prayer hands in the comments, I'm gonna go be a husband, be a great partner and take care of my wife in the best way possible. Thank you guys for tuning into the show.
