They should raise their shadow standards.
Robert Griffin III

Greta Griffin
Baby, we're going to opening drive and a cat is sitting in front of the damn monitor. All right. The Cleveland Browns have more controversy at qb. You think it's not possible, but it is so. In a newly released hit piece the Athletics Cleveland Browns columnist Jason Lloyd shared a few days ago, multiple resources inside the organization have raised serious concern about Shadow Sanders preparation habits, specifically his ability to process what he sees on tape. The hate for this man just does not stop.
Robert Griffin III
Unbelievable.
Greta Griffin
So that promoted Shadour to tweet this out. Learn to value the opinions of those who care about you, not the noise from everyone else. What is happening with the Cleveland Browns organization at QB once again? And who do you think should start for the for the Cleveland Browns at qb?
Robert Griffin III
I think the Cleveland Browns need to start Shadir Sanders, bench DeSean Watson and trade Dylan Gabriel and here's why. Right now, the Cleveland Browns are doing what dysfunctional franchises do. When I play for the Baltimore Ravens, the main thing they did so well was they supported their players. And you rarely ever heard a leak come out from the organization. So for the organization to come out and basically repeat the same stereotypes that have been said about black quarterbacks for generations, about Shadir Sanders, it's not just disheartening. They're undercutting themselves. So you look at Deshaun Watson, they paid him 260, 80, whatever, millions of dollars to really not play well. And he hasn't played in two seasons. I don't think that they should put him at the forefront because not only do the fans not want him anymore, the locker room isn't really behind him. And Shadir Sanders has the favor of both. He has the locker room, he has the fans, and he has the bravado and the moxie to lead this organization out of the dysfunction that they currently have. Not only that, Todd Monken is also a really big fan of Shadur Sanders game and actually wants him at quarterback. So the easiest way to clean this up is to trade Dylan Gabor, who I do believe is still a promising young quarterback, trade him to the Atlanta Falcons with Kevin Stefanski. That's the guy that wanted him constantly, you know, bang the table for him, let him go over there and work with Tua, Michael Pennx Jr. The other lefties, and allow Shader Sanders to go in there and grow and develop. And if he doesn't pull it off this year, as your starter, at least, you know, hey, he's not the guy. They've rebuilt their offensive line. You know, they brought in, in free agency, yes, they're, they're kind of, you know, limited, but they brought in Titus Howard, brought in Tevin Jenkins, Elton Jenkins and Zion Johnson. They locked them in to, to really help a young quarterback grow and develop by protecting him. So for me, you look at Shadir Sanders salary as a fifth rounder, you look at his ability as a, as a young quarterback to galvanize the locker room in a positive way. Those guys played hard for him down the stretch. Why as an organization, would you anonymously be cowards and undercut the young man by coming out and saying things that everyone that's ever been around him as a player knows isn't true? We, we were there in Colorado. They covet his ability to read defenses. They covet his ability to work hard in his preparation and how much he is dedicated to his craft. This young man last year wasn't getting any reps at quarterback in practice, and he was going off to a. A local high school, bringing his receivers out there and getting his own practices in because he wanted to make sure he was prepared for his moment. That's why I believe the Cleveland Browns need to full send and commit to Shadir Sanders being their starting quarterback and stop trying to back him into a corner every single chance you get, because there's certain people in the organization that don't want him. What do you think?
Greta Griffin
It's just so hard for me to believe in the full organization of Cleveland Browns anymore. Like, from the moment we were there to everything going forward. Like, I feel like everybody that leaves Cleveland flourishes. Yeah, but when you're in Cleveland, you might be the same player, but there's just something there that doesn't allow you to flourish. And there's been coaching changes. There's been. I don't know if there's been ownership changes, but there's been big changes in the organization, and I still feel like nothing has changes. Like, take Baker Mayfield, for example.
Robert Griffin III
Like, exactly.
Greta Griffin
Baker has done nothing but flourish there since he left the Cleveland Brown. So, like, I don't understand what it is with this, with the organization, and I do honestly feel like everybody that gets out just it's gonna go to a better situation. Like, and I kind of feel like you always feel bad for almost all the guys that get drafted to those to the Cleveland Browns, because there's just something about it. Like, when you were there, they played five QBs in, like, three games. What did they do last season? They played five QBs in, like- three games. I don't know what it is, but, like, it's just. They need to figure something out or, like, just X out the organization. Like, there's 31 NFL teams now.
Robert Griffin III
And this is why I was saying, like, this is what dysfunctional franchises do. They come out and they undercut their players. We were both there in Cleveland, like, till this day. One of the best experiences from a city standpoint that we had.
Greta Griffin
Love Cleveland. Absolutely love Cleveland.
Robert Griffin III
We love Cleveland. The fans in Cleveland are incredible. It's not the fans. It's not the city. It's the organization. And I think the fans are starting to see that. So, you know, we spent the beginning of this conversation talking about how the Browns need to start Shadir Sanders, but you talked about Baker Mayfield, and, yeah, it took him a few years after he left Cleveland, goes to Carolina, goes to the Rams, finds his way to Tampa but he has proven that they made the mistake of giving up on him and really pulling off one of the. The worst trades in NFL history, going and getting DeShawn Watson with everything that happened with him. So I think if you're the Browns organization, why would you, anyone in that organization, say what they said to James Lloyd? Yeah, it makes zero sense unless you're planning on trading Shooter Sanders. I agree, but even if you're trying to trade Shooter Sanders, why would you undercut his trade value? I never hear anybody say anything about Dylan Gabriel's ability to read a defense. As much as Josh Rosen got killed when he was in Arizona for that one year that he was a starter. I never heard anybody say, hey, he can't read defenses. I never heard anybody say that Sam Darnold can't read defenses. Even when he was seeing ghosts and he admitted he was seeing ghosts in, in New York, they never said, man, he, He. He just can't read defenses. He doesn't work hard. So why is it that those negative stereotypes seem to always be reserved for guys that look like Shadir Sanders, that have the bravado and the confidence in their ability, and they're like, you know what? Let's try to knock them down a couple. A couple notches. No one said that Daniel Jones couldn't read defenses. Oh, he just. It was. It wasn't the right situation. The offensive line didn't protect him, and he goes to the Colts and he. And he excels.
Greta Griffin
Yeah.
Robert Griffin III
But it was never a narrative of, oh, he can't read defenses. He's not working hard enough. That's. That's never been the case. So I feel. I feel personally connected to the Shadir Sanders thing. Not because my dad was a famous NFL player, not because my family is like hall of Fame royalty, but because I know that work ethic that Shadir Sanders has. I know the work ethic that a lot of guys that. That look like us black quarterbacks have. And they get torn down in a way that is really repeating things that aren't necessarily true. I don't know how I, as a player went from being this guy at Baylor University who was smart, great teammate, does all these things, reads a defense so well, went from being a runner as a freshman to a thrower of 4,000 yards as a. As a senior. And then all of a sudden you get to the NFL and they're like, oh, he can't do this, he can't do that. He can't redeem. He doesn't work hard. And I'm like everyone that knows me in the same way that everyone that knows Shador knows that's not true. So why is it being said? It's being said because they're purposely trying to hurt him. So I'm looking at the camera right now and if you're the Cleveland Browns, the best thing for your organization right now is to start Shador Sanders. Stop trying to tear the young man down from the inside out. And if you're going to do that, just trade him. Trade him somewhere to a team that actually wants him and believes in him and wants to develop him. Because if you're not willing to do it, I'm almost certain there is a team out there that will take on that responsibility because the young man is special. And I think he's going to show everybody that this year.
Greta Griffin
We could make an entire episode just talking about that. But we're not because we only have 33 minutes. So we're moving on.
Robert Griffin III
Oh yeah, 33 minutes. Here we go. Let's go. Come on.
Greta Griffin
Viral spiral number one. The rest of the NFL hates the Baltimore Ravens right now.
Robert Griffin III
Oh yeah.
Greta Griffin
The Ravens backed out of a blockbuster trade for star defensive end Max Cross Crosby with the Las Vegas Raiders for two first round picks due to him not being able to pass his physical examination after concerns were raised about his long term health concerns about his current knee injury. Lots of speculation has happened and many have accused the Baltimore Ravens of playing dirty and breaking the honor code in the NFL of good faith dealing. Do you think the Baltimore Ravens will regret not trading for Max Crosby?
Robert Griffin III
No, the Baltimore Ravens will not regret nixing the trade for Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Max Crosby for two reasons. One, if their concerns about his long term health, about his knee injury are true, which I believe they are, then giving up two first round picks for that is not worth it. Anyone that tells you, hey, this trade wasn't about the the future. This trade was only about 26 and 27. No, no, no, it's not.
Greta Griffin
Yeah.
Robert Griffin III
If you're giving up two first round picks, those two first round picks can affect your organization for a decade.
Greta Griffin
Absolutely.
Robert Griffin III
All right. Plus in some cases. So that's the first. Second reason is they got a better pass rusher in Trey Hendrickson and got to keep their two first round picks. So as an organization you feel the void of what you were trying to to do with Max Crosby, of getting you a game changing pass rusher because you got Lamar Jackson at quarterback and you know your super bowl window is now okay and you get Two first round picks and a strong draft for pass rushers, for playmakers that you can go ahead and use this year and next year without having to give up so much, so much leverage. And I look at this in a way and I'm like, how can you make this make sense to the masses of the difference between a Max Crosby and a Trey Hendrickson? By the numbers. Hendrickson is a much more efficient pass rusher, but he's not as good of a run defender or overall disruptor on the defensive side of the ball.
Greta Griffin
It's like if you took. You take Mariah Carey and Taylor Swift.
Robert Griffin III
Okay.
Greta Griffin
Mariah Carey is known for her vocals, right?
Robert Griffin III
Yep.
Greta Griffin
But that doesn't mean that Taylor Swift is. Taylor Swift, I would say, is not a better vocalist than Mariah Carey, but Taylor Swift is a better show woman.
Robert Griffin III
She's better performer.
Greta Griffin
Exactly. She puts on. She's known for her like, what is a song called that she has the showgirl, whatever.
Robert Griffin III
She's known as a. She's known as a performer. When you go to a Taylor Swift concert, you're like, you expect the show.
Greta Griffin
Exactly. For Mariah Carey, you expect All I want for Christmas is you.
Robert Griffin III
The vocals.
Greta Griffin
Yeah.
Robert Griffin III
Right. So that's a great. It's a great way to break that down. Because Trey Hendrickson has this elite trait, like a Mariah Carey. Her vocals are like, oh, my goodness, what did I just hear? Like a Whitney Houston, like, national anthem. Like, oh, my goodness, what did I just hear?
Greta Griffin
Exactly.
Robert Griffin III
But with Taylor Swift, she's. That's more of the Max Crosby mold because Max is a better run defender, he's a better tackle for loss getter. He's a better disruptor in the backfield, and he's a solid pass rusher in the sense of he's top five in the NFL as a pass rusher. Top five, top 10. Trey Henderson, just as a pass rusher is a little bit better. So.
Greta Griffin
And you wouldn't regret going to either one of one of their concerts.
Robert Griffin III
Exactly.
Greta Griffin
They're different. But you wouldn't regret going to either
Robert Griffin III
concert because you know what you're going there for. And the Baltimore Ravens said to themselves, okay, Max Crosby, we saw something in his injury that we don't trust. Okay. How can we still get better at pass rushing in the way that we need to? Trey Hendrickson, I gave him a four year deal. He passed his physical. Boom. His elite trait is rushing the passer. That's our Mariah Carey. Okay. We're not gonna get our Taylor Swift this time because Max Crosby hopefully can. Can come back fully at full health, and he's gonna be a monster now because he feels like he got slided by the Ravens with the Raiders, and he can be there. Taylor Swift.
Greta Griffin
You would have loved to see Max Crosby.
Robert Griffin III
Yeah, I really would have.
Greta Griffin
Swagger and the city and the culture so well. And I feel like that's what everybody was so excited about, like, when they posted the picture. Like, this is not a shot at Trey of any sort, but you saw the picture on Twitter where it says aura versus no aura. And I'm not saying Trey doesn't have aura. It's just for the Baltimore Ravens, Max Crosby would have been such a good fit.
Robert Griffin III
I mean, let's just call it what it is. Most people think Max Crosby is black. Okay? He's a white guy, tattooed up, you know, been sober for, I think he said, six years now. Congratulations, Max, on being sober for six years. That is incredible. But Baltimore was excited about it because he represents a lot of what black culture likes to be. In your face, bravado, confidence, swag.
Greta Griffin
But the NFL wants to tear down when you're confident and you have swag.
Robert Griffin III
But with Trey Hendrickson, it's more, hey, he's gonna bring his. He's gonna tie his boots on and put his hard hat on and go to work. And like, that. That's what he represents, and that's how he plays. So I. I totally understand where you're coming from with that, but I think the saddest part of all this, like, Max Crosby is going to make $28 million, $30 million this year as a player. Like, he's not really hurt by the Ravens not, you know, going through with that trade. Trey Hendrickson's going to make 20, 25, 23, 24, something like that type of millions this year. He's not hurt by the Ravens not bringing in Max Crosby. But you know who does hurt from all this is the fans. And I don't mean in the sense of, man, we really wanted Max Crosby. It's. It's more the reporting that's been going on around this whole thing where, yeah, there's some teams out there who feel a certain type of way because maybe they wanted Max Crosby, maybe they altered their plans for free agency because Max Crosby wasn't available because he got traded to the Ravens. Yeah, but there's always this natural distrust from the fans with NFL insiders. And I think what Diana Rossini has been doing during this whole debacle is something that. That fans exemplifies why fans don't trust NFL insiders sometimes. And not just NFL insiders, but all insiders. She tried to say and dig for dirt on this situation and said that the Ravens were going to extend Max Crosby once the trade went through. And his own agent came out and tweeted this and said, that's fake news, it's not true. Because a lot of fans believe that these insides are just an extension of the organization, an extension of the agents, and they basically say what they want them to say to maintain those relationships. But when you have these types of moments, I always feel like it's not the job of us in the media to paint a picture that's not there or to paint the picture that we
Greta Griffin
want to be there, and that would just get clicks.
Robert Griffin III
It's our job to not fight for those clicks, per se, but it's our job to provide the truth.
Greta Griffin
Exactly.
Robert Griffin III
And if you're not providing the truth, it actually hurts your credibility, and that becomes a problem because they talk about journalism and all this other stuff. But if. If I'm out here reporting and saying, hey, this is fishy business, that's my opinion, you're more. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. But if I'm now presenting things as fact, and I know Eric DaCosta in the Baltimore Ravens weren't going to extend Max Crosby, I know that they went through the process and had true concerns because I've talked to them about it. So to paint that picture, I feel like it just does a disservice to the industry, and it's something that's been going on a lot. We even saw the legendary Holly Row accidentally posted, literally, a direct quote from her source on Twitter. And it's like, where is this information coming from? How's it being framed? And I just don't think that it is our job to go out there and try to paint a picture that's not true.
Greta Griffin
Absolutely.
Robert Griffin III
That. That. That, to me, is not the way it should be done. And hopefully, you know, you know, Diana Rosini's been in the biz for a really long time, and hopefully she learns from that. But I. I just. I don't agree with it. I don't love it when those things happen.
Greta Griffin
Viral spiral number two. Caitly Clark and the USA Women's basketball at the FIBO Women's World cup qualifier. Okay, you see this picture of Caitlin Clark, Angela Reese, and Paige Pecker. Let me do that again. Let me do that again.
Robert Griffin III
Oh, my goodness. Hold on. What was that? All right, starting over. Here we go. Virus number Two.
Greta Griffin
Okay, ready? Viral spider number two. Kon Clark and the USA Women's basketball at the FIBA World cup qualifier. So you see this picture of Caitlyn Clark, Angel Reese and Paige Beckers checking into the game together and just the excitement around women's sports.
Robert Griffin III
Yep.
Greta Griffin
Why do you think these three women are essential to the rise of women's basketball?
Robert Griffin III
I think that Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and Paige Beckers represent different aspects of American life. Okay. So for Caitlin Clark, it's rural America. She's an exciting player. She's the most exciting player in women's basketball. She shoots the three point ball and her game, it reminds everybody of Steph Curry.
Greta Griffin
Uhhuh.
Robert Griffin III
For Angel Reese, I think Angel Reese reminds the, the, the black community of what you can be when you can be the best at your position, the best at something that you do. And it gives them something to rally behind. And I think with Paige Beckers, she has a mix of both of them. Paige Beckers is, is really connected to the black community not in the way that she plays, but her family, the way that she carries herself, the community work that she, she does. But she's also a white female that understands the plight of the black community. So I think all three of them together, they are going to be essential to the, the rise of women's basketball together. And it's, and it's crazy to me because the best player in women's basketball right now is Asia Wilson. And yes, Asia Wilson has a shoe. Asia Wilson is, is in a relationship with Bam. Out of bio. And any one of them would tell you, I don't want a guard. Asia Wilson, she's that good. But because the new age and the way the game is played, they would rather watch Caitlyn Clark play basketball, they would rather watch Paige Beckers play basketball because the most exciting play in women's basketball isn't the dunk.
Greta Griffin
Yeah.
Robert Griffin III
It's not the alley oop. It dang sure ain't the layup or, or, or the rebounds. It's the three point shot. It's the ability to make plays happen that they see in men's basketball. The, the logo, three pointers, the step back fade aways, the crossovers, breaking their ankles and then pulling up right in their face. That is what makes women's basketball exciting to the masses. And it's the most exciting place. The people who do those plays typically are the most popular players. And that is where Angel Reese is extremely popular, an extremely popular player on and off the court. She's just not as popular as Caitlyn Clark because of their playstyles. Same for Asia Wilson. Same for Kalia Copper. Same for Chelsea Gray. All these players there, they have set the foundation for players like Caitlin Clark and Paige Beckers and Angel Reese. But they can take it to two new levels because of their style of play. What do you think?
Greta Griffin
I agree. I think the more you give the platform or the shine to these three young women, the more women's basketball will rise, the more women's basketball will shine.
Robert Griffin III
Right.
Greta Griffin
Like, you take the Caitlyn Clark, Angel Reese rivalry, right? People just. They just. They just want to see it so bad. Like, even if it's not there, they manufacture it and be like, it's there.
Robert Griffin III
Oh, she. She missed her hand on the. On the. On the high five, walking on the court. Even if they didn't see each other, it becomes a thing.
Greta Griffin
Yeah. So I think, like, people don't want to see Caitlyn Clark and Angel Reese get along and be friends or, like, you know, I mean, like, high five each other because they thrive off of these two not getting along or missing a high five or, like, being like, oh, there's drama. Like, we know the world thrives on drama. Oh, everybody. That's why reality TV exists, because everybody just wants drama. If your relationship is. Is good, you have no problems. You don't need to go to therapy. No one's gonna want to watch it. People want to watch their bad stuff, the drama, like, you know, whatever. So. And I think, like, the more you highlight these three young women on and off the basketball court, like you said, like, Angel Reese is extremely popular also off the basketball court. She walked in the Victoria's Secrets fashion show. Like, that is a huge accomplishment. And I think that only helps women's basketball the more eyes you bring to it, everything. So I think they just keep doing what you're doing, you know?
Robert Griffin III
Yeah, I. I think to your point, there's, like, when you're a competitor that you're on the court and, like, you're trying to annihilate the person that's across from you. Yeah, right. Like, you want to be the best. Caleb Clark wants to be the best. Angel Reese wants to be. The Paige Beckers want to be the best. And guess what? Council Plum wants to be the best. You know, Chelsea Gray wants to be the best. All these players, Asia Wilson that we talked about, they want to be the best.
Greta Griffin
Of course.
Robert Griffin III
And there's already enough animosity and competitiveness that you don't have to manufacture situations that aren't Necessarily there now, you know, there's. There's history between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, but when you have, you know, even our guy Dave Portnoy, when he's going out there and, you know, we're teammates at Fox Sports, when he's going out there and he's saying to the masses, man, I don't know if. If Caitlin Clark saw Angel Reese, but I really hope she did. And she just ignored her like, there's no need. That is. That's not gonna take women's basketball to the pinnacle manufacturing something like that. When they play against each other in WNBA or wherever, it's gonna. It's gonna naturally be there. The competitiveness is naturally gonna be there. We don't have to push that. We know we remember this, right? Remember the. The college battle and. And last year and everything that happened. Like, it's there. It's fine. They're competitive women. We don't have to force the issue when it's not there. Yeah, that's kind of how I feel about it.
Greta Griffin
All right, let's talk about the winners and the losers of the NFL free agency. Who do you think is the biggest loser of this year'? Free agency?
Robert Griffin III
Yeah, the biggest loser for NFL free agency this year was J.J. mcCarthy.
Greta Griffin
Okay.
Robert Griffin III
And I say that in tandem with the Arizona Cardinals, because what are the Arizona Cardinals doing at quarterback? You get rid of Kyler Murray, you kind of step on JJ McCarthy's ability to be the quarterback in Minnesota. I know there's doubts there and there's questions, but if you're the Arizona Cardinals, did you really get rid of Kyler Murray so that you can have Jacoby Brissette and Gardner Minshu duke it out for the starting job? Like, or. Or are you planning on getting a quarterback in the draft and kind of throwing him into the muck of it all as well? Because what they're doing at quarterback right now makes zero sense. And I. Look, Gardner Michu and Jacoby Brissette are solid veteran NFL quarterbacks, but they're not going to inspire the Arizona Cardinals or lead them to. To a division title when they got to play against The San Francisco 49ers and the LA Rams, like, that's just not. And the Seattle Seahawks, who just won the Super Bowl. That's not how you get it done. So I say that to say for J.J. mcCarthy, you almost feel terrible for him. He's our guy. Like, he's a Michigan guy. I've known JJ For a really, really long time. Um, he's a great young man. But because they brought in Kyler Murray, it makes me feel like the Minnesota vikings should trade JJ McCarthy to give him an opportunity to grow, to go grow somewhere and learn somewhere and develop without the pressure of playing right away. So for me, you talk about the Green Bay packers with Matt LaFleur, have him sit behind Jordan Love. Look at what that did for Malik Willis, who's now, you know, millionaire, multi, multi 20 millionaire, playing for the Miami Dolphins because he backed up Jordan Love, and he was able to develop after he left Tennessee, who didn't really give him a shot. Right. And you look at the rams with Sean McVeigh and Matthew Stafford. I think for J.J. mcCarthy, getting a chance to sit behind Matthew Stafford for one, two years and learn from Sean McVeigh would be an incredible experience for him so that he can actually develop. Right now, it feels like JJ McCarthy just can't catch a break. He can't catch a break with injuries. He can't catch a break with veteran quarterbacks wanting to come in and work with. With koc. Kevin o', Connell, you know, Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones. Now you got Kyler Murray. You know what J.J. mcCarthy's situation reminds me of right now is that meme. You know, the meme of the guy who's holding the girl's hand.
Greta Griffin
Oh, yep.
Robert Griffin III
And he's. And he's looking back at the other girl and he's like, oh, well, guess what? J.J. mcCarthy right now is the girl holding the guy's hand that he's not paying attention to.
Greta Griffin
Yep.
Robert Griffin III
KFC looking at Damn Jones like, oh, that. Now I see it. Now he's looking at Sam Bradford. He's like, now he's looking at Kyler Murray and all that talent that he has, and JJ is the girl holding his hand, not getting any of the attention. So I'm a believer in J.J. mcCarthy. They call him Nine, his alter ego. And I know he's had a lot of doubters and a lot of haters, but you don't bring in a talent like Kyler Murray. If you truly believe in JJ McCarthy, trade JJ McCarthy, give him a chance to go grow somewhere else. Because as long as he's in Minnesota right now because of everything that's happened, and Sam Darnold just went and won a Super bowl when you could have held on to him. And Daniel Jones just won and had the. The Colts in prime position to go to the playoffs and go deep in the playoffs before he got hurt. J.J. seems to be the odd man out, and the story lines around him in Minnesota seem like they've already closed. Open it back up for him, allow him to go somewhere else, allow him to have his Sam Darnold moment, his Baker Mayfield moment. And I know that might be tough for the organization to. To swallow, but it's the best thing for J.J. mcCarthy.
Greta Griffin
All right, so who do you think came out as the winner from this year's NFL free agency?
Robert Griffin III
I mean, the winner was the Washington Commanders.
Greta Griffin
Okay.
Robert Griffin III
All right. And here's why. This is a make or break year for Dan Quinn in Washington. It just. It's the reality of it. You go to the NFC Championship game in Jaden Daniels rookie year and your first year as the head coach for the Commanders, and then last year was an utter disappointment. Like, couldn't have gone more the other way than the previous year. And what they did in free agency this year was I felt like they addressed all the concerns that they had in the past.
Greta Griffin
Okay.
Robert Griffin III
All right. If you have a old defense, what do you do when you come into the next year when it found. When you found out. Ah, speed and. And age is a problem for us. You get younger.
Greta Griffin
Younger. Yeah.
Robert Griffin III
So they got younger. All the guys they brought in, the nine guys they brought in, you're talking about Leo Chanel, Odaf O, Clavon Chon, Tim Settle, Charles Ominous. And then Richard White, Rashad White. My bad. And then Amik Robertson. All these guys come in and they're under the age of 29, 29 or younger. That's how you get youthful. The defensive guys they brought in can all play multiple spots on the defense. So now you're younger, you're faster. You brought Diami Brown back, who was a receiver that I thought really excelled with Jaden Daniels. You brought in his college teammate, former college teammate Rashad White from the Tampa Bay Bucks, at running back, a guy that can help you running in between tackles and catching the ball, the backfield, and you address the concern of what happens if it doesn't go right this year. At least we still have youth. So I think Adam Peters is not preparing for Dan Quinn to fail or to not be there in the future. But I think the way that he attacked Adam this off season protects them in case he's not the coach in the future. Because the number one determining factor will not be how any of these guys play. It'll be Jaden Daniels. If Jaden Daniels doesn't stay healthy this year, Dan Quinn will not be the coach. And it. And it sucks because I. I think Dan is a great coach. I think their offensive Coordinator David Blow, first time coordinator. He's got to figure it out. Durante Jones, the defensive coordinator, they got to figure it out. But there's a reason that they went and overhauled their entire defense there. There's a reason that they went and they got Diami Brown and speed because they know what Jaden Daniels needs at receiver to pair with Terry McLaren. There's a reason they got Chega Quanko the tight end, because they needed youth and speed at tight end. I think there's two things left for them to do that would be. That would make it the funniest offseason and the best offseason that the Commanders have had in quite some time.
Greta Griffin
Okay.
Robert Griffin III
One is go get Brandon Iuk.
Greta Griffin
Okay.
Robert Griffin III
From the SAM 649ers.
Greta Griffin
All right.
Robert Griffin III
Former teammates with Jaden Daniels as well at Arizona State, that would be two different former teammates. And then they could go draft Jordan Tyson, the Arizona State rookie receiver who's gone, who's in the draft. So then you'd have a trifecta there of guys that have all been former teammates. And then to really top it off, go get Brian Thomas Jr. Trade for him. Now you got Terry McLaurin, Brian Thomas Jr. You got our guy Brandon Iuk and Jordan Tyson. That'd be. Might be one of the best four receiving core guys in the entire NFL. I don't think they can do all of it, but I think there has been a concerted effort by the Commanders to surround Jaden Daniels with the guys he's most comfortable with. What do you think about what the Commanders did?
Greta Griffin
No, I like it. I kind of want to go off topic for a second and talk about Jaden Daniels.
Robert Griffin III
Okay.
Greta Griffin
And the upcoming Fox flag football game this weekend.
Robert Griffin III
Oh, yes, yes, yes.
Greta Griffin
Why would you let Jaden Daniels playing that
Robert Griffin III
like you.
Greta Griffin
So one of those guys in that game is going to forget that this is flag football and forget that he's not allowed to tackle or something like, Jaden Daniel still dealt with so many injuries this year, and when I saw him on the COVID of that with Tom Brady, I'm like, why would you. Or like, what was that conversation like with the coach? Or if. If it even was a conversation to be like, hey, this is what I want to do. This is what I plan on doing. Or like, I don't know, maybe he don't plan on playing. Maybe he's just the face of it. I don't know. But I think that's just. I don't think you should do that.
Robert Griffin III
Yeah, I mean, it's tough because I don't know, like, what are the rules going to be, how hard are they going to be playing? But there's a lot of NFL stars that are in there, a lot that are going to be playing and obviously it's Brady. I think Joe Burrow's playing. You got Jalen Daniels, you got Jalen Hurts in there. So I don't know how that's all going to work out. But I know if you're the Commanders, you, you don't want him doing anything. It's not like you want them wrapped in bubble wrap. It's just you don't want him doing anything in the off season because he had so many injuries last year. Exactly. Especially with the dislocated elbow. Now I don't anticipate he'll, he'll be getting hit because flag football is a non contact sport. But don't forget. But I would agree with you in that sense. Listen, these guys are making money in the off season and I know they're all probably making money to go to this event. So I understand it. I get it. I for one would have said, nah, there's, because of everything that happened last year and what the focus needs to be on, probably shouldn't be doing this one. I don't even know how much he's going to play.
Greta Griffin
Yeah.
Robert Griffin III
But the bottom line is his health is the number one thing that should be the focus and, and not necessarily this flag football event. But I'm not gonna get in the way of any guy, any guys making money. And speaking of guys making money, they also have one of our old companions, Adafe, owe that the Commanders ended up picking up. And, and I'll say this about Adafe because I know there's a lot of concern in Washington about how much money he's making because last year, the first five games of the year, he played with the Baltimore Ravens and had zero sacks. But then in 13 games with the Chargers, he had seven and a half sacks. And then he broke the Chargers franchise record in the postseason for three sacks in one game in a playoff game. And now he got a huge payday from the Commanders. So if you're the Washington Commanders and you're Durante Jones, what you do with Adafe, always, you line him up in a wide nine, you let him rush the passer, you don't try to get cute, you don't drop them into coverage. You don't peel them on on backs when they free release into the flat. You line them up and you say do what you do best. He's a freakish athlete. Allow him to go rush the passer. And I think that in itself would make him worth all the money that they spent because they, they're paying Odafe away to get Jaden Daniels the ball back and give him more opportunities to go score.
Greta Griffin
Yeah.
Robert Griffin III
So I think right now the Commanders have a sleeper build in free agency. You guys notice the build is all right. They got pass rush help with Oway and Chase on. They got run defense help with Tim Settle. They got youth at middle linebacker, which there was a lot about Bobby Wagner being the middle linebacker. Older player. Leo Chanel is a great player. 25 years old and you got to put on Chanel. I agree. Go ahead and sing that song, girl. Then they got secondary help. You got a Meek Robertson. They got youth at tight end. I really think the Washington Commanders, and I'm not just saying it because I was a former player there, I think they won free agency this off season.
Greta Griffin
Okay. All right, guys, here are some feel good moments of the week and we have quite a few for you this week.
Robert Griffin III
Yeah, let's get the video up right now. Let's run it. Here we go.
Greta Griffin
All right. A nine year old just deadlifted 180 pounds. A nine year old, Lucy Milgram deadlifted 180 pounds at Arnold. She owns three American records for her division in the squat, 131 pounds, bench press, 73.8 pounds and deadlift 165 pounds.
Robert Griffin III
Oh, my goodness.
Greta Griffin
She. She is her.
Robert Griffin III
Yes, she is her. And for anybody out there that's criticizing this young lady 9 year old for lifting weights just because you wouldn't do it, just because you don't want your kid doing it. Stop it.
Greta Griffin
She did. That's more than me.
Robert Griffin III
Celebrate. Celebrate this accomplishment. It's what she loves to do. Look at the look on her face. She's happy. That's all we want for the kids. Want to be happy. Let's celebrate. Lucy Milgram.
Greta Griffin
Good job, Lucy. All right. An 81 year old just ran 2970 in 200 meters. What? A 81 year old Kenton Brown is closing in on Robert Lita's world record of 2915 for 80 year olds in the indoor 200 meter. That was set in 2017.
Robert Griffin III
Oh, my goodness. Okay. Yes. This guy is an absolute inspiration.
Greta Griffin
Absolute inspiration.
Robert Griffin III
Brown shout out to you, but there's 80 year olds who are having trouble getting it up and this guy is out here running 200 meter dashes faster than some high school kids.
Greta Griffin
What driver meant by that is getting up from bed.
Robert Griffin III
Yeah, getting out of. Yeah, getting up, getting out of bed, all that. Okay. And Kenton Brown said, I'm not worried about that. I'm about to go break this record. We are rooting for you. And when you break it, we're gonna put it on the show again.
Greta Griffin
An 18 year old just ran 1990 in the 200 meters. These young men and women are getting absolutely ridiculous on track. Blake Hamilton ran 1990 in 200 meters at the Blue Bonnet Invitation in Texas A M. And also he plays for Robert 7 on 7 football team.
Robert Griffin III
Yeah, he's in.
Greta Griffin
He's a runner, he's a track star,
Robert Griffin III
he's in our organization. But my Lord, Blake, I mean that's just a loss for us. 1990 as an 18 year old is absolutely astounding. There's pros that could never run that. So. Holy cow. What are these kids eating?
Greta Griffin
Oatmeal. Astounding. 16 year old. It keeps getting better. A 16 year old just ran nine 88 in 100 meter dash. Dylan Mitchell, a 16 year old high school sophomore, just blazed the D track running 988 in 100 meters. Also another player that plays for RG3.7 on 7 football team. Yeah, our boys are killing it.
Robert Griffin III
Come on. Dylan Mitchell. I mean listen, 19, 1988, it's absolutely insane. I don't care what kind of wind you got, with you, behind you, on the side of you. That is an incredible time for a 16 year old to be running. Dylan, we can't wait to see you at OT7, baby. Keep doing your thing and track.
Greta Griffin
First week of OT7 is this weekend, guys. So tune in. Naji 3707 will be represented.
Robert Griffin III
All right.
Greta Griffin
Bruno Fernandez is the best Manchester United player in the last decade. He just broke David Beckham's Manchester United single Premier League season assist record with 16. And only needs 5 more assists to break Terry Henry's and Kevin De Bruise single season Premier league record of 20 assists. And Manchester United still has eight matches left.
Robert Griffin III
Eight matches left. Hey, Bruno Fernandez is gonna break that record.
Greta Griffin
Legend.
Robert Griffin III
He is literally, you said it. He is the best Manchester United player in the last decade. That, that's big. That's something really huge to say because man use had some unbelievable players. But you know, we tapped into the soccer and we can't wait to keep covering this stuff for you guys as we get closer and closer to the World Cup.
Greta Griffin
And now let's watch Bam Adebayo score 83 points. Not in the season, not in five games, not in three games in a single freaking game.
Robert Griffin III
Yeah.
Greta Griffin
So let's watch the video of Kobe Bryant talking about the records are, you know, there to be broken.
Robert Griffin III
Do you think. You think.
Greta Griffin
You think Kobe is happy right now for Bam, or do you think he's over there, like, God damn it?
Robert Griffin III
No, I think Kobe Bryant would be happy for Bam out of bio, and I think that video says everything he said. It'd be juvenile for someone to be upset about somebody breaking their record. So I know, like, there's a lot of personal ties that everybody has to Kobe Bryant and the mama mentality, and we all want him to still be here, but the bottom line is we got to stop tearing down Bam and Adebayo because you didn't like the way he got the record. You didn't like the fact that he didn't respect Kobe enough to stop at 80 points so he wouldn't break Kobe's record. Like, that's nonsense, guys.
Greta Griffin
That is nonsense.
Robert Griffin III
Celebrated. I. I even heard that. That Bam Adebayo broke the record on the. On his grandmother's birthday. Like. Like, we should be celebrating this story, not tearing him down because of an affinity that we have for Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant was an incredible player and has left his mark on the NBA world and really the world in general. But if you listen to his words and you want to honor Kobe, then honor what he said.
Greta Griffin
Records are literally there to be broken.
Robert Griffin III
Celebrate the fact that Bam Adebayo broke that record, and that makes it special. It's now Wilt, Bam, Adebayo, and Kobe Bryant. That, to me, is something that should be celebrated. And shame on anybody out there that's trying to tear him down for breaking it. If you had a chance to break that record, you would do it.
Greta Griffin
Facts.
Robert Griffin III
I would do it, too. Yeah.
Greta Griffin
And I know, guys, we are way over 33 minutes over here, but we
Robert Griffin III
appreciate you guys hanging with us.
Greta Griffin
Last segment we have is called the Deep End. And now let's listen to Russell Westbrook defend his teammates against beat riders that he feels went way too far in their critiques of the team. All right, what are your thoughts, baby?
Robert Griffin III
Yeah, I mean, was Russell. Was Russell Westbrook right in his assessment, in the way he handled the situation? I think he was. I think Russell Westbrook has been in the league for an extremely long time. He's one of the greatest point guards in NBA history. He's a surefire hall of Famer. He's got the most triple doubles we've ever seen, and he's had people make fun of his name. Call Him, West, Brick, which he felt like was infringing on his legacy, which he was. Right. And as a former player, you hear this complaint from a lot of current players that the former players don't act like they were former players before, you know, like they were players. And there are times when players, former players, beat writers who never played go way too far, way too far. And the reason they go way too far is because we live in this world that is all dominated by clicks, views, who can say the most outrageous thing and who can be the most interesting. And sometimes people hide behind that. They. I was just trying to be interesting. I was just. And what they end up doing is with the power of the pen and the power of the word, they end up hurting the player. So, yes, the Sacramento Kings are one of the worst teams in the NBA. And Russell Westbrook acknowledged that in his conversation with the media as the cat is in this camera shop. Hey, Peach. Hey, Peach. Peach, Peach. Peace.
Greta Griffin
She cleaning herself?
Robert Griffin III
Oh, she's good. Russell Westbrook acknowledged that in his conversation with the media, so. Well, the cat is a distraction now. Peach, you gotta get down. Come on.
Greta Griffin
Come here, girl.
Robert Griffin III
Come on. Nope, nope. All right, stay there. And I think when you look at this from the media standpoint, it's okay to say that a player, as she continues to groom herself right in front of my face. All right, we're gonna pause for a second.
Greta Griffin
Peachy, come here. Peachy, girl, come here.
Robert Griffin III
There you go. All right, let's start that whole segment over. It's just too fragmented.
Greta Griffin
Okay, you ready? All right, our last segment today is the deep end. Let's listen to Russell Westbrook defend his teammates against the beat riders that he feels went way too far in their critiques of the team. What do you think about that?
Robert Griffin III
No, man, I think Russell Westbrook is 100% correct. He, you know, he defended his teammates because at times, players, the former players that are in the media now, media members, beat writers who never played, they go way too far in their assessments of what's going on. And, yes, they'll hide behind the fact that, hey, I was just trying to be interesting. I was trying to provide some insight. You know, I talked to these anonymous sources, and this is what they told me. But just the same thing you saw with Shadir Sanders when we talked about this earlier in the episode about, like, why. Why would anonymous source go tear down a player? There's usually an objective to that. It's to undercut the player. Why would. Why would an anonymous source talk to someone about Something that's happening inside the building that all the players are not just saying didn't happen, but they're also showing that it didn't happen because they have camaraderie on the court and they have no beef. And, yeah, sometimes teams just aren't good.
Greta Griffin
Yeah.
Robert Griffin III
And Sacramento Kings are not a very good basketball team. But Russell will. Russell Westbrook, as a leader on that team, is doing the right thing by stepping up and being the voice for the younger guys who don't quite have the. The experience to do it or the credentials to get it done. So, yes, I think whenever it becomes personal and you're now talking about a guy on a personal level and you don't know that guy personally, or you're talking to someone on background or as an anonymous source that is telling you they know this person personally, you have to always take into account why are they telling you this. Yeah, there's been a number of times that I've had sources come to me and say, hey, this is what's going on. And I've never shared that information. That's not me doing a disservice to the fan. That's not me doing a disservice to. To my ability as an analyst or as a journalist. That's me taking the information and assessing what is necessary for me to do my job. And I think that's what Russell Westbrook is saying. You can't just make stuff up, because when you make stuff up, it hurts the players. And that's not our job. Our job is to get to the truth, not to make up the truth. So I applaud Russell Westbrook for defending his teammates, defending his team, and I think his teammates have responded in that in a very positive way because they know this vet's got my back.
Greta Griffin
Exactly.
Robert Griffin III
And all he's asking from the media is, yeah, do your job. If they play bad, talk about why we. How we played bad, talk about what we did wrong, talk about what you think we. We need to do better, but just don't make it personal. And I think that's a lesson for all of us in life. We can do our jobs without making it personal.
Greta Griffin
Exactly.
Robert Griffin III

Good girl. Peachy.
Episode: Browns Need to Make Shedeur Sanders their starting QB + Ravens are better without Maxx Crosby trade
Date: March 17, 2026
Hosts: Robert Griffin III (RG3) & Greta Griffin
This episode dives deep into quarterback controversies in Cleveland, the Baltimore Ravens’ decision to back out of a blockbuster trade with Maxx Crosby, the rising stars of women’s basketball, and an in-depth look at the winners and losers of NFL free agency. RG3 and Greta bring their signature insight and candid takes, centering player perspectives, organizational dysfunction, and the importance of authenticity in sports coverage. The episode wraps with feel-good sports stories and a defense of Russell Westbrook’s fiery stance against harsh media criticism.
[01:42-10:20]
“Learn to value the opinions of those who care about you, not the noise from everyone else.”
“When I played for the Baltimore Ravens, the main thing they did so well was they supported their players. ...For the organization to come out and basically repeat the same stereotypes that have been said about black quarterbacks for generations, about Shedeur Sanders, it’s not just disheartening. They’re undercutting themselves.” [02:27]
“This young man last year wasn’t getting any reps... going off to a local high school, bringing his receivers, and getting his own practices in because he wanted to make sure he was prepared for his moment.” [04:20]
“I know that work ethic that Shedeur Sanders has. I know the work ethic that a lot of guys that look like us, black quarterbacks, have. And they get torn down in a way that is really repeating things that aren’t necessarily true.” [08:43]
[10:25-19:08]
“If their concerns about his long term health, about his knee injury are true… then giving up two first-round picks for that is not worth it.” [11:01]
“If you’re not providing the truth, it actually hurts your credibility... Fans believe these insiders are just an extension of the organization. ...It's our job to provide the truth.” [17:42]
[19:08-25:30]
“Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and Paige Beckers represent different aspects of American life.” [19:52]
“It's not the alley-oop… it’s the three-point shot. The people who do those plays are the most popular players.” [21:27]
[25:30-37:19]
[25:41-29:39]
"Did you really get rid of Kyler Murray so that you can have Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew duke it out for the starting job?" [25:47]
[29:44-37:19]
“They got younger… the nine guys they brought in… are all under the age of 29." [30:14]
“If you’re the Commanders, you don’t want him doing anything in the off-season because he had so many injuries last year.” [34:18]
[37:19-43:04]
“She is her!” – Greta [37:48]
“There’s 80-year-olds struggling to get up, and this guy is out here running 200-meter dashes faster than some high school kids.” – RG3 [38:35]
“What are these kids eating?!” – Greta [39:35]
“Records are literally there to be broken.” – Greta [42:44]
“If you listen to [Kobe’s] words and you want to honor Kobe, then honor what he said.” – RG3 [42:19]
[43:12-48:46]
“At times, players, the former players that are in the media now, media members, beat writers who never played, they go way too far… It's okay to say that a team is not good, but don’t make it personal.” [46:59]
“When you make stuff up, it hurts the players. And that’s not our job. Our job is to get to the truth, not to make up the truth.” [47:35]
RG3 on the Browns’ internal leaks:
"Why as an organization, would you anonymously be cowards and undercut the young man… by coming out and saying things that everyone that’s ever been around him as a player knows isn’t true?" [04:40]
Greta on Cleveland's woes:
"Everybody that leaves Cleveland flourishes... there's just something there that doesn't allow you to flourish." [05:26]
On Ravens' pass rusher analogy:
Greta: “Taylor Swift is a better show woman; Mariah has the vocals.”
RG3: “That’s our Mariah Carey… we’re not gonna get our Taylor Swift this time.” [12:41-13:14]
On women's basketball drama:
Greta: "People don't want to see Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese get along... people want to watch the drama." [23:01]
On Bam breaking the scoring record:
Greta: “Records are literally there to be broken.” [42:44]
RG3 on sports journalism:
“If you’re not providing the truth, it actually hurts your credibility, and that becomes a problem.” [17:48]
The episode maintains a conversational, energetic style, blending personal stories, sharp cultural commentary, and playful banter (‘Mariah Carey vs Taylor Swift’). Both hosts lean heavily into player perspectives, defense against unfair narratives, and celebration of athletic achievement at all ages and levels.
This episode is a showcase of RG3 and Greta's chemistry, bold takes, and dedication to giving athletes—and the game—their due. Topics move briskly but are examined with depth, and the pair doesn’t shy away from controversial organizational or media behaviors. If you want insight into NFL decision-making, the state of women's hoops, and the culture wars around sports coverage (with a dose of humor and motivation), this episode brings it all.
