Yeah, it's like in my calendar, it's how, you know, how like, you know chicks, when they live together, they sync up on their periods. When me and Hank watch Houston basketball together in February, we both start to believe.

Yeah. Well, Illinois was just the tougher team tonight. Illinois out rebounded Houston by nine rebounds tonight. They were better offensively. Duh. Because Houston couldn't hit a shot. But, but Illinois, I mean, they're. They're just a really good team and it's one of those teams that like maybe at points, because the Big Ten, I mean, I think we're finding out the Big Ten was really, really good because three out of four teams in the elite Eight so far are Big Ten teams. But Illinois, they're the most efficient offense and when they play tough like this and they're able to out rebound a Houston Cougars team that's known for rebounding. Watch out in a road game in Houston.

Yeah, I mean it was, it was their bigs, it was Snack and. And USAN that had tough games tonight. Very tough games shooting the ball. So I, and, but that's always kind of the story with Houston is like their offense is liable to show up in a snake bit fashion. That's what they did tonight. So you listen, I'm, I'm not. I'm still going to believe in the Cougars next year. I regret nothing. Great job, Illinois. Illinois is a better team tonight.

I mean, like I said, the toughness because they've had games where they've looked a little bit. I mean, Brad Underwood has said it like we're soft. And they answered the bell tonight and they were the tougher team. The better team. We also had. And we'll get to the two great games early. We also had Arizona just showing that they are probably the best team in the country because they absolutely whooped Arkansas to the tune of right now. There's two minutes left in the game. They have 106 points. How many threes do you think they've attempted, Hank? 106 points. They attended seven threes. They went five for seven from three. They are absolute monsters down low. All five of their guys, starters scored 14 plus and a walker off the bench had 14 as well. So it's six guys, 14 or more. They shot 65 from the field. They just absolutely killed them. They absolutely killed them. And I mean, this is. We kind of figured this was going to happen with Arkansas because they have Acuff, but they're not. I mean, bigs have hurt them this year and Arizona just, That's what they do. They're just efficient. Efficient to the absolute max. They don't even. They can make threes. They just don't have to make threes.

Yeah, they five for seven from three. The only way that Arkansas was going to be competitive is if they made like 45 of the threes. If they had a great night shooting the ball. They did not have a great night shooting the ball. They didn't have a single player that had more than one three pointer on the night. Acuff got his. He was always going to get his, but they needed the threes to fall.

Yeah, I, I think Arizona, it's going to be very tough. This is what we were talking about, you know, the idea that Cinderella's are dead because of nil and transfer Portal and yes, that's part of it, but the other part, when we were talking about it on Monday, of the best teams in the country are building with just monster human beings who just scored an efficient level at the rim. And. And guess what? Those. Those shots, there's no variance in those shots. If you have guys that are all 6, 10, and above and they can just dunk the ball and lobs and just score at the rim like that. It's not like, oh, we might be cold shooting one night.

Right. It's not. It's. It's. It's not like they're not using analytics. They are. They're just using analytics to be like, the best shots are the ones as close to the rim as possible.

My obsession with Ben McCollum is growing even more. He's. He's the absolute man. Iowa takes down Nebraska. We had. It was a wild game because first of all, it came out. They shot the absolute lights out in the first half at both teams. Nebraska jumped on Iowa. Iowa's. So they're just a team that's like, so well coached. They're never kind of. They never wavered. And then at the end of the game, they. Two things happened. One, Matt Rule was shown on the screen. So Matt Rule was shown on the broadcast with six minutes left in the game. Yeah, I will win on a 156 run to end the game. And then including in that run was Fred Hoiberg installing a defense where he only had four guys on the court.

That was the very last take all the way down the court that. That Iowa had.

But that was very important.

There was a guy that was running off the bench to the scorers table at half court as the ball is in the air, going down the court. And that guy is like, oh, I should have been in. That's like the ultimate bad dream that you have when you're like 30 years old and you're like, oh, I haven't been to class all semester. This guy was like, I was supposed to be standing right out there for this play. They got all toasted by it. And, yeah, that. That game was over at that point.

And they're Iowa. Iowa is a Cinderella. Iowa is a bunch of guys who started in lower level college basketball and they are the Cinderella that everyone's looking for. The. Not a nine seed in the Elite Eight. Like the this game, too. This is what we. This was the payoff for whenever it was like, oh, where the. All the upsets. These first two games that we watched on. On Thursday night for the sweet 16 were so, so good. And Iowa. Bennett Sturts is awesome. Like, he just controls the game so perfectly. And Ben McCollum do you. So they asked Bennett Sturts after the game because they were down 10 early and they asked him what Coach McCollum said to the team. And usually you would expect an athlete to be like, oh, you know, he said, hey, guys, we, you know, we've done. We practice this all year. Like, let's not waiver. Ben McCollum told the Iowa Hawkeyes he slammed his whiteboard and broke his marker on the floor. Ink everywhere. And he was just telling us that we sucked and we were soft.

No, I, I actually, I don't want to do reputation bet. But think about it. He's from Iowa City, he coached for 15 years in Division 2, had pretty much every opportunity. Maybe not every opportunity, but you'd assume after 15 years winning multiple national titles and he won four in a row in Division 2, he would have gotten some calls. He gets a call to Drake. He's at Drake for one year, then gets his dream job at Iowa. I Don't think he's going anywhere.

And Iowa, you know their history of coaches. It's like, if you want, you can. Based on this run. What if he gets a bag? You can probably retire there.

He might get a bag from Iowa.

Walked in there, so. Oh, man. We're just gonna crush them then. Like, glad they got that hope. And then right when I finished, I was like, well, at least they know exactly where they're fucking going. They would had to direct us. But, yeah, that was a Tiger came back. It was cool as fuck. And we played 10 of 15 holes, so that was a tough, tough, tough look for the boys.

What's it like? Are you. Are you boys of Tiger now?

[Max Homa]

Yeah, Tiger. I got lucky a handful of years ago, played with them at the Open Championship, and Then started to get a bit closer with him. I won his tournament, which helped, but he's been super cool to me. We played practice rounds at majors and then playing on his team the last two years. It's pretty awesome. But I try to tell everybody, man, like, Tiger's just like a guy.

Yeah.

[Max Homa]

And I honestly do feel bad for him a lot of the times when we do these interviews because he hasn't played golf in a while. And I mean, he'll. He has some days where he looks great and some days you could tell he's really limping. And every question is just like, so, are you gonna like, golf for us next year or next week at the Masters? And it's like, can you just.

[Big Cat]

Yeah, let him.

He's just a person, man. He's won a ton of golf tournaments. He's. Everybody in golf's like, you know, at some point, favorite golfer, near, near to it. So that's been hard because I just think he. He wants to play, obviously.

And he looked really good. He's. Is pretty incredible when he sets his mind to something. But at the end of the day, I just like for him to, like, enjoy playing golf. And, you know, his son's super good at golfing.

Okay. We now welcome on a very, very, very, very special guest, one of our favorite recurring guests. It is John Harbaugh from the New York Giants. Head coach of the New York Giants. Coach, always great to catch up with you. Let's start there. Is that, is that a weird, has it gotten, have you gotten used to the fact that people are now introducing you as the head coach of the New York football Giants and not the Baltimore Ravens?

[John Harbaugh]

Yeah, yeah, I'm pretty good with it right now. I feel great about it. I'M happy about it. It's been. It's been fun. It's been. It's been crazy hard to. I've been to dinner twice. That's it, you know, and it's been kind of. It's been kind of a madhouse both times.

[Big Cat]

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Living in New York is definitely a different beast. It's crowded here.

[John Harbaugh]

Did you notice? Have you noticed when you're out here, there's a lot of people that live in this area? I'd heard that.

[PFT Commenter]

Yeah.

Much, much different. Yeah.

So congratulations. Big off season for you. We were. We're speculating because when. When the Ravens let you go, we were like, john Harbaugh can probably take whatever job that he wants. Right now. You're probably gonna be the number one name in contention out there. Did it ever occur to you, like, maybe. Maybe I just don't want to coach football for a year. Maybe we'll see what that's like and maybe do media, whatever that might be, or was it always like, you need to get back into football?

[John Harbaugh]

Yeah, I mean, I thought about it for, like, a bit, like, maybe about 20 seconds, and then I was like, nah, nah, it's. Well, how would I explain it to my brother? You know, I mean, he. You know, I'd be. Yeah, he wouldn't. He'd have nobody to hang out with at the owner's meetings. No one wants to talk to him usually, anyway, so he's got me, so I can't leave him alone like that now. I never really thought about it too much. I was really surprised by. I mean, there's a lot of. You have a lot of thoughts, a lot of emotions that you kind of deal with in moments like that. And. And I don't know. It's really hard to explain it all, but one of the thoughts I did not have was not coaching. That was really not a thought. And. And if I had, my wife pretty much was telling me, like, oh, you're still coaching. You know, you're not hanging around the house here at any point in time for the next year, so just plan on finding another job that helped make my decision.

[Big Cat]

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I would imagine having the fear of having to call your brother and dad and saying, hey, I'm thinking about taking a year off, that you can't. You can't have that. And I. They. Pro. Jim probably feels the same way.

[Max Homa]

If he.

[Big Cat]

If he ever got fired, it's like, hey, I'm not. I'm not taking a year off. I can't. You Guys, you guys were built to coach football.

[PFT Commenter]

Yeah. You're off from what?

[John Harbaugh]

Yeah, you know, my dad. My dad's theory on that. Jim asked him the advice one time about, like, you know, how long do you coach dad? You know, when do you know it's done? And my dad always felt like he probably. He probably got out of it a little bit too early. You know, he stayed with Tom at Marquette there for a few years and helped him out. But I think he always. But he had us. So he still coaches. You know, he basically coaches us every day, sends us texts, he watches our practices. Sometimes not so nice, but. But he said. He said, dad, you know, when do you know that it's over? He goes, you know, when. You know, when it's over, Jim, is when you. You get up in the morning and you really don't want to even get up and get in your car. You get in your car, you drive in, you hate every minute of the drive in. You drive in the parking lot, you see the building, you don't like the building anymore. You don't like the cars in the parking lot because they're the people you don't want to see. When you get in the parking lot, everything about it is just something that is distasteful to you. You hate it. When you get to that point, you coach for two more years, then you'll be done.

[Big Cat]

Perfect.

[PFT Commenter]

That's great.

[Big Cat]

Two more years.

[PFT Commenter]

That's really good advice. Yeah. So. So congratulations. We knew that you were going to be back. We. We never thought that you would take a year off either. It's not in your DNA.

[Big Cat]

It's not.

[PFT Commenter]

That's not the Harbaugh way to. To step away from football for a year. Was there. Was there a moment like, did you know that it was going to happen before the end of the year? Did you have an idea that, hey, if. If things don't go our way, if we don't make the playoffs, whatever the case might be, that it might be time for that. That parting aways.

[John Harbaugh]

Well, I think you always, as, you know, coach, player, probably, but, you know, I don't never take the next day for granted. You know, even. Even when things are going well, I always feel like we're one day away from disaster, you know, one day away from the apocalypse, pretty much. You live your life that way in coaching. So I always felt like, hey, you know, if the job's not getting done, it's not good enough. You know, that they'll make a change. You don't. You don't you don't. You don't have a job. It's not your job. You don't own it. I guess you rent it, maybe, is what. Is what people say. You just try to do the job, not keep the job. So I really wasn't worried about it ever keeping the job. And I felt like, you know, at some point in time, if they. If they felt like I wasn't the best guy for the job, to do the job, then. Then they're going to put me out of the job, you know, and that's what they should do when they feel that way. So it didn't. It didn't bother me in that sense. I took a lot of pride in what we did. I took a lot of pride in this season. I thought, honestly, as a coaching staff, it might have been our best job this year coaching this team. Thought we did a great job, but it wasn't good enough in terms of getting us where we needed to get for whatever reason. So sometimes God's in control, too. Sometimes there's another plan. I read my Bible. I think there's some Amos maybe, or Isaiah or one of those prophets. You know, God said, go. And he said, where? He said, just go. And he went. So that's what the Raven said to me. They said, go. You know, I said, where? He said, we don't care.

[Big Cat]

Right.

[John Harbaugh]

Go wherever you want. And. But then, you know, my agent called in about 20 minutes. There was. There was a. There was a bunch of calls, and that was. I did not expect that either. I don't. I don't think you really know what to expect. But Giants called right away as well, and that was something that worked out, and I'm really, really thrilled to be here. I think it's a great organization, great people, a great city. Obviously, players have been phenomenal. All of it has been just beyond my wildest dream. So, really excited about. Can't wait till the players get in here in April, man. They're going to be here in a couple weeks.

[Big Cat]

Can't wait.

[PFT Commenter]

Yeah. As a Commander's fan, I. I wish that you'd gone to a different team. So I'll be rooting for you every weekend except for two this year. So just take it a little bit easy on the commanders when you. When you have that chance. But what was it about the Giants that made you think, okay, this is the team that I want to go to?

[John Harbaugh]

Well, you know, first of all, it's just the Giants. I mean, that's a big part of it, and I'd Always admired the ownership here. You know, I'd admired the family ownership and really got to. Had known the Maris to a degree, starting with John, who was always representing the organization at the owners meetings and all the committee meetings. I mean, I just thought he was a giant, literally, in the league, an icon in the National Football League. So had great respect for him and for, you know, what they stand for here as an organization. And then, you know, you grow up, it's New York Giants. I mean, when I was in Philly, we played against them. You'd come into the parking lot. We. We. We lost to him. One year when I was in Philly, and we had seven buses, and the. The wife's bus going back to Philly got. Got left behind. I mean, like, literally, you know, like that. That series of books. Left behind. Yeah, us got left behind in the parking lot in New York, and they started egging the bus and rocking the bus back and forth. And my wife is calling me, you know, on the phone. You know, it's like, you know, help, help. We're stuck here. You know, you forgot us. And they had to send security back to get him. I don't know if the bus, like, broke down or just got surrounded or what, but it's crazy. Well, Philly had their share of issues, too. My wife's first game, when we got there as assistant coaches was against the Giants. And she was walking in all excited for the game from her parking spot to go to her seats and see her husband coach in the National Football League. And she saw these two Giants fans with their Giants jerseys, and they're two guys, two buddies. You know, they're walking to the game, they're talking, they're laughing, and they had to go through this. This row of cars where they were grilling their Eagles fans were grilling. And they. She sees them, and all of a sudden, they get surrounded by Eagles fans and they get kind of jumped and they don't hit them or anything, but they grab them and they grab their jerseys and they pull their jerseys over their heads like hockey style and just pull them both off, walk over and throw them on the Hibachis, and they light them on fire. They gave their T shirts. It's like, wow, that's the National Football League.

[Big Cat]

So, yeah, that's the NFC East.

[John Harbaugh]

That's the NFC East.

[Big Cat]

The NFC Ease. I have one last question. I have more questions about the Giants.

[John Harbaugh]

One last question about, you know, leaving Baltimore and everything that happened this year. Did you have a conversation with Mike Tomlin afterwards? Because it was kind of sweet. Obviously no one wants to get fired, but it was like, you know, a 95 year old couple, you know, the, the husband dies and the wife dies like two days later. That's kind of what happened with you guys. Cause you had so many years together, it's like, yeah, we're just gonna go out at the same time.

[John Harbaugh]

I guess that's the way it went. Yeah, we haven't, we haven't spoken since. You know, we haven't spoken since. I guess we're dead to each other now.

[PFT Commenter]

I don't know.

[John Harbaugh]

I did text him, but I haven't, I haven't gotten the text back. I don't know, maybe he lost my number at that point. Point. But it was, it was, it was unbelievable. Amazing. And I, like I said afterwards, so much respect, I mean, for Mike and I mean, you play the Steelers, you were playing a Mike Tomlin coach team. It was always the same, it was always the same thing, same problem, you know, well coached team that knew how to win. So. Yeah, I'm sure we'll get a chance to have a beer, talk it out one of these days. It's, it's history now.

[Big Cat]

Yeah.

[John Harbaugh]

On to the next thing.

[PFT Commenter]

It was a great era in both your lives.

[Big Cat]

It really was. It really was. All right, so, so now for the Gian like you, you're in one place for 18 years now you're, you're in a new place. Is there any part of you that's, I assume you're not going to change how you do this, but are there updates you're making to your coaching style? I know it's a new staff, but is there like a little self assessment, like, hey, I got another shot here. I get a kind of a blank page, a new locker room, guys that have never been around me. Is there any kind of new approach you're taking?

[John Harbaugh]

Yeah, I mean, I don't know if it's new, but I hope it's better. You know, it's like, it's a, it's along the same lines probably, but better. You do have a chance to kind of sit back and say, okay, I can start fresh. I'm not dealing with things that maybe I was dealing with before. Everything's going to be a clean slate for everybody, you know, so it's a clean slate for players. We've talked about a couple of guys that are coming back to the team that are excited about having a new opportunity with new staff. It's a clean slate for me, you know, it's a Clean slate, to just kind of work the way that you approach the team with the belief system that we have or the motivation stuff, or the way we build the offense. We're building out a whole new offense. We're building an offense out that has never been seen in the history of the National Football League. I mean, like, literally, because we're building the New York Giants offense, you know, with our terms and our schemes and for our players. And that's really fun to do. Same thing on defense and special teams. So how can we do all that stuff better? But there are things that you look back and you say, you know, that got a little away from me, that got a little out of hand. I don't really like the way that evolved and went. How could I do a better job of making sure it doesn't go in that direction in the future with the new op. New team, and just start with a fresh slate? So you're right, Big Cat. I mean, that's. That's a big part of it.

[Big Cat]

Yeah. And then. And then, like, bringing in a couple guys. Cause I know you guys got Isaiah, likely you got Ricard. Is that also where. Where you have a couple eyes and ears in the locker room where those guys can help along the new guys being like, hey, this is what coaches is asking for from us. The standard is the standard. Like, you know, just helping them understand you. Where it's almost a go between not. Not saying you have, like, moles in the. Or, you know, snitches in the. In the locker room. But it's not. It's smart to get those guys.

[John Harbaugh]

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I'll be hanging out in the locker room, too. So, you know, we don't really need some holes and stitches, but. Hey, guys, how you doing? Now we. It's part of that. Yeah, it's part of that. Because I do think there's an element of the guys that just kind of understand, like, who, who, who. What it's about. The guy's crazy. Like, I'll talk to the players. A lot of players come up. I'm talking to guys all the time, and they're always. They say basically the same thing. They're like. Like, yeah, I talked to so and so I talked. I've Talked to about 10 of your former players or these three guys, and they all say the same. I say. I say, well, what do they say? What they say, right? They say, oh, you better be ready to work. Make sure you're in shape. I'm like, well, that's good. I'm glad they said that is actually true. And then they're smart enough to follow that up with is. Yeah, that's. I was really glad to hear that. I was excited to hear that because I like the work. Good. Because we're gonna work. But I think it's partly that, you know, they can kind of say, hey, you know, is he. Is he crazy? No, it's not crazy. This is what he's saying. This is kind of how it's gonna go. Does he mean that? Yeah, he means that. That's what he means. That's what he's talking about. Or he means this or whatever. Is this for real? Is this genuine? Yeah, he's pretty much going to be like this every day. I hope that's what they'll say to the guys, you know, but also, really, mainly though, Big Cat, it's the fact that these guys are good players and they fit the, you know, the. They fit what we're trying to do offensively, defensively. They fit in real well and they're gonna, like, play a big role for us. So not just those guys. And we brought 16. We signed 16 guys.

[Big Cat]

Yeah.

[John Harbaugh]

Free agency. And we did it with just mid level spending in the National Football League for free agency. We were right in the middle and we signed 16 guys with that, you know, So I think the Ravens had about the same. And they signed eight guys. So I'm really excited about the fact that we got a big. And if any other player had said that, I would think it's a metaphor. With Scatterboo, there's a. There's a decent chance that he actually has rented a baby hippo that he's training with in his backyard.

Yeah. Have you followed up with him on that quote?

Well, I don't know if you guys know this or not, but baby hippos are surprisingly fast with amazing change of direction skills. So, yeah, I'm kind of happy to hear that he's that far along. I mean, you know, and that's probably a pretty good training method. His guys. Dude, this dude, man, is, like, one of a kind. I was just weird when I was getting interviewed, just, they're showing me the facility which they're tearing down here, like, in four months, this part of the facility. But he was back in there working out on the. The treadmill that lifts you up and doesn't make it quite as heavy. And he didn't see me coming around the corner. And he's like. It was the ownership. It was everybody. He's like, oh, dudes, how you guys doing? He starts screaming, hey, Scatter Boo. Doing a scatter Boo thing. All of a sudden. I came around the corner. He's like, oh, oh, oh. So he's on the phone. He's on a phone FaceTime, like, three days ago, because he got a new. New puppy poo. A new puppy. Wiener dog. Wiener dog. He's a wiener dog guy. Yeah. And he's got a little. He's got a three or four. Two or three wiener dogs, so it was kind of cute.

Yeah, he is. He's a perfect. Like, the Harbaugh family sees a guy like that. That guy just wants. You know, your brother always told his human body craves contact. That is Cam Scatter Boo, right? Yeah.

That's our kind of guy, man. I mean, he fits the. He fits the personality of the team, the offense, the family. Yeah, the whole. All the guys do the quarterback does, the left tackle does. That's what they tell me, and they're ready to go.

I mean, I think these playoffs actually showed us exactly how important it can be.

Yeah. You just have big play after big play happen. I mean, the Seahawks, you're one of. One of your former guys, Mike McDonald, who we had on the show, who actually told us a very funny story that once he went from you to your brother, he said that he kept on getting asked, what's by, like, media and people. What's the difference between the two Harbaugh brothers? So he went to Jim and he said, hey, I keep getting this question. What am I supposed to say? And Jim just said, just tell him I'm taller. So that was a good answer.

They. You know, the Seahawks spend a lot of money on special teams, and it's very important, and you could see it in. In their playoff run, in their super bowl run. How important? Special teams. It always feels like one of those swing plays in the playoffs comes down to special teams.

Well, they have a great special teams coordinator. Yep. It's. It's a. Runs in the family as well, by the name of Jay Harbaugh. And, you know, he's kind of grown up with it. He was in college. He was a special teams, you know, student assistant and was in Baltimore. Then he was with Jim. So he's been trained the right way, you know, right out of the cradle.

I mean, to me, they had by far the best special teams in the league last year. And Jay did a great job. Great job. Great job coaching those guys. Great players who played hard. But I think they were a reflection of Jay. I mean, you can argue they were the difference. Yeah, a lot of ways in that team last year. So, yeah, we got to do that. I mean, if you look at the Seahawks, all credit to Mike McDonald. I just. They did a great job. The whole organization obviously did a great job, but Mike brought in a, you know, a mentality, a mindset way of doing things. He's really smart, really bright, really thoughtful guy, honest guy. They built the kind of team that we would like to build here. I mean, if you watch the way they played, that's the kind of team that we would like to build in New York. And, you know, we're gonna have to be competing against them in this conference, so. Yeah, just much respect for what they did. I hope we could do the same.

I've got a really, really dumb question for you, Coach, but I have to ask, as coach, the Giants, we heard a rumor, like, what was this five years ago that Ben McAdoo, when he was the coach, there had a tiny door that led to his office. I did. I did one for Stevenson University, which is in owings mills about 12 years ago.

So I can't dust that speech off. It's gotta be unique. I was talking to some of my college buddies. They've sent me some suggestions for stories to tell. Maybe some that will not be told on the commencement stage, but, man, I'm fired up about it. Like, a lot of. A lot of great memories. Love that university kind of makes you. You know how it is, the people you meet and the things you go through in college and all those types of things that kind of make you who you are in a lot of ways. So I was just like David Saylor and appreciated the president and the organ, you know, the administration asking me to do it. But I can't wait to get back on campus and celebrate that. That NCAA tournament victory, the one they're going to get going to get it. Maybe. Maybe a couple more here. We'll see what happens.

I would assume you don't get nervous whatsoever doing public speaking, right?

Nah, you get a little nervous still. Really? I mean, you know, do you ever get nervous?

No. I. I would assume for you especially, like, you're in front of a bunch of, you know, big, strong guys having to command a room of alpha males. Like, getting up in public speaking is second nature to you. Because I. We. We do it a lot, and I don't really get nervous anymore. I kind of wish I did. I just kind of. I feel like, hey, I can do this. I've done it before, I can do it again. I. I know I can kind of fall back on what I've been able to do.

For me, it's about a room that's like 10 to 20 people. Yeah. That's when you get the most nervous.

When it's like a small group and when it's massive, you can just like, kind of tune it out and say, okay, I'm gonna go up here. I'm gonna do my thing that I've rehearsed. But, yeah, that small group, when everybody's looking at you and you're making eye contact with every person, that. That's when you start to overthink things.

[John Harbaugh]

For me, I'm just going to try to, like, try to have a decent message, you know, try to have a couple funny stories maybe, and, and, but that relate maybe to the message. But you want to try to, like, in a commencement speech, you want to. First of all, you want to. You want to follow the five B's of, of. Of public speaking. I mean, you want to start with that. Jim Caldwell taught me that. The five B's of public speaking. Be brief, brother. Be brief. That's good. Stick really good. But, yeah, maybe have a word or two and then maybe take everybody out to CJ's, which is our football bar out there, and, you know, buy them a Rolling Rock or something.

Yeah. Yeah, you're right, though. The commencement speech. Like, you can't. You want to. You want to nail it. But if you, if you go too long, you're gonna. Because it's a bunch of kids are 22 years old, probably hungover or, or drunk, having, you know, their last weekend on campus. You got to hit them with some good stuff and then get out, get out, get out.

Make a blast. Say something poignant.

It's. Yeah, it's everything. It's like, it's like, it's wall to wall draft prep, watching tape. Then with that, it's. It's finished up on free agency. We've got the 30 visits coming in. We still have some free agent guys coming in. That's. That's kind of a big part of it, too. And then it's. For us, it's players coming in, and we're still building our systems out. So, like, we're still meeting, like, Heavily on football, offense, defense, and special teams. Like, you know, what are we going to call motion? When the tight end goes across the ball, then comes back the other way and kicks out the defensive end? What are we calling that? You know, you got to pick a word that kind of makes sense to everybody. So, you know, how are we going to build all this stuff out and do it? So, like, everybody's. Everybody's been avalanched in work, but they're doing a great job. And we just want to make sure that when the guys come back, they see. They see that we're ready, you know, that we're ready, we're fired up, we're organized, and we got a plan. Even, like signs in the buildings and paint, you know, painting things up and throwing TV screens up that are going to have messaging. All the things that you want to do to. To try to create the environment that the guys feel like, all right, we're going to do this the right way. So that's what we're doing.

It is a little bit like, if you're taking over a brand new job for you, it's a little bit like interior decorator as well as it is like football coach, you know, like, I think Bill Parcell said, if you. If you want to change the culture, like, start with changing the carpet out. Everything about the place. Have there been any, like, major, like, changes that are major to you that might seem like a small deal to everyone else?

[John Harbaugh]

Well, yeah, I mean, like, we, We. We do. We do a lot of stuff with TV screens, so we're putting that up for, like, different reasons and all those. So these big, huge, like, I didn't know they made like, 98 inch screens. Those are, like, really massive. So I want to get one for my house if we ever move into one here. Just signs on the walls, you know, one of the signs we had, I was thinking about, like, okay, do I want, you know, relentless. Relentless is a big word, right? So I want relentless on there. Because being relentless is like, it's a relentless thing to do. We got to do that. I wanted persistence, like, persistent. That's big, too. Relentless and persistent. They seem like they're the same thing, but they're a little bit different. I couldn't decide, so I just put them both up. I put up relentless. Persistence could have been persistent. Relentlessness. Yeah, yeah. That was a little too long for the wall. So I went relentless persistence. And I felt like that kind of captured the mindset. And then the other one was finish everything all the time. So, like, everything is going to be a big deal, too. Like everything. Confront everything, you know, work hard at everything. Everything. All the time. All the time. Everything. That's what we're doing. Everything necessary. All the time.

And I was like, oh, okay. And I kept waiting for the lesson to be done, for Hank to come back. We get started. Turns out Hank was getting a lesson. Not from one guy, but Hank had two different teachers that were teaching him how to, how to golf. And then I, I was late and I was, I was lessonless.
