Foreign. Welcome to Planet Tyrus and this podcast is part of our series of people who work with Tyrus outside of the Fox bubble. So today, my tour manager, slash opening act on the Tyrus Live events which are sold out all over the country. And we're going into year three of what was supposed to be just a couple cities just to say I did it. My wife Ingrid turned it into its own business and now we travel the world, the United States, pretty regularly. We tour as much as we can. And so joining me today to talk about what it's like being on the road with me and some of adventures and some of the things that we've experienced on the Tyrus Live tour that will be. He's a talented, very talented singer and his name is Kevin Francis and he'll be joining us today. So without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for the one and only Kevin Francis. You don't know him now, but you'll know him afterwards. What up, Kevin? Thanks for coming on my podcast, Planet Tyrus. And man, you still rocking that, that jacket, man. You love that jacket. You rocking that trench coat jacket, man. We, for those of you who are just jumping on, Kevin Francis is the opening act of my very successful standup tour. We travel all over the country. We're sold out everywhere. And this last weekend we were in Palm beach and we had two sold out shows. And I'm doing this thing like I want people to be able to see what it's like for people who have to work with me and be around me. And you have been working and have been around me for how long have me doing this? Almost two years.
Kevin Francis
Almost two years.
Tyrus
Almost two years we've been doing this. The tour really hasn't stopped. We just kind of, we take a little break and we just kind of keep going. You know, we've kind of found lightning in a bottle with our, with our routes and we tend to stick to outside the big cities, which seems to be very advantageous. But before we get into our fun antics, actually we're kind of boring on the road, to be honest. We're kind of boring with the exception of the karaoke night, which I will get into. So a little bit about who is the Kevin Francis.
Kevin Francis
A little bit about me? Well, you know, just your everyday guy, you know, singer, you know, sometimes a little bit of a minister when the time comes. Just moved to Chicago, so trying to get familiar with this weather and hence the trench, the trench coat. You know, I feel like an old timer, you know, with this Thing on, but I'm loving it, but. Born and raised in Palm Springs, California. You know, went school out there, was doing a lot of music. That's when I met you guys, through my parents. They're part of the Coachella Valley Women's Republican Club. And I'll never forget seeing you, your wife, and Georgie coming in. And I'm not going to lie for a minute, I had no idea who you were until my dad was like, kevin, you don't remember him from wrestling? And I was like, oh, I don't know if I can cuss on here, but I was like, oh. And, you know, it was. It was. It was after that, we were just chilling, having a good time, always hitting up Waffle House, and here we are.
Tyrus
So I was at a Republican luncheon where I was the featured speaker. And you. You opened and you sang. Was it God bless America, God bless the usa. God bless the USA is what you sang. And while you were singing, I was like, wow, this brother's good. And my wife leaned over to me and said. And at that time, we were. My wife was mainly doing the opening. She would do the intro and bring me out. And with our daughter's athletic career kind of taking off and her wanting to be at home more, we. We needed to fill a void. And it was just. We were thinking comedian, comedian, you know, And I was like, you know what Richard Pryor used to talk about back in the day? There was variety shows, there was the person that sang, and there was the emcee who told some jokes, and they, like. They had, like, a triple. They had a singer, an emcee, and then a comic. Oh, and a magician. So it was like the magician. The emcee told jokes, and then you had the singer. So I thought about, well, let's do something different. And I remember my favorite again, Richard Pryor, stand up. Patti LaBelle opened for him, but you never see Patti LaBelle, but he talks about her in the. When he's at the Hollywood bowl, so. Or Playboy Bunny Mansion, I think it was. So it was like, oh, man, this guy, his voice is crazy powerful. And I don't think you give yourself enough credit for that. And I just looked at my wife, and she looked at me, and I was like, hey, man, I'll ask him. And I just walked up to you. I was like, hey, man, you can sing your ass off, bro. Any chance you interested in opening? And you were like, yeah, but, like, you're not. You're. You. You're singing. Didn't. You weren't you in a competition.
Kevin Francis
So probably I was like 13 going on 14. I was on Star Search. Now that's not Ed McMahon, but with Elsenio Hall.
Tyrus
Okay.
Kevin Francis
And don't you know Elsenio Hall. But. But yeah, that was third place on that. My little, little claim of fame. I kicked David Archuleta off and then made it through the winner circle and took third place.
Tyrus
That's pretty good. And. And how dare you, brother. Of course I know who sexual chocolate is. Come on. Arsenio was the man for a while. You know what he would. The brother gave a lot of wrestlers opportunities on his late night show. He had everybody on there. So yeah, yeah, it was a good show. But yeah, you and you can carry a tune to the next level. So what we started doing is we. You would sing three songs and then you were like, you know, I kind of like to tell some jokes. And I was like, that's what this foot. That's what it's for. To try new things. And so now we're down to two songs and a couple jokes. What when you first. When I started going on tour, me. Were you surprised with how our shows were with. Literally, we don't do a lot of advertising. You know, it's not a lot of. There's no big machine behind it. Were you surprised that we were able to. The momentum we've been able to build as fast as we've been able to go?
Kevin Francis
Absolutely. I mean, you know, it was just. I remember the first time I did the first show, it was just me, you, Ingrid and Georgie. And I was like, this is it. And you were like, yeah, this is all we got. And I'm telling you, like, seeing the lines just around the building, it was crazy. You were like, give them your music. I was like, do you need a sound check or anything? You're like, nope, just hand me the mic and we're good. So I feel like that's what makes the tour so successful. There's not a lot that you need. You know what I mean? You're just a simple guy. You just go in, you get it done. And I feel like it's just been so increasingly growing rapidly because it's just simple. It is what it is. You know what I mean?
Tyrus
It's literally down to you and me.
Kevin Francis
Yeah. Yeah.
Tyrus
It's a two man show.
Kevin Francis
Two man show.
Tyrus
And in this day and age with. And I keep waiting because success, people, you know, change and we, we put up numbers that could rival any comedian in this country, period. And it's just that we don't have, you know, mainstream media behind us, and we don't have a publicist, and we don't. We don't really do all those things because we really don't need them because we have the people. So.
Kevin Francis
And that's thing. I feel like that's one thing that I love about your fans and especially like having the opportunity to be out, you know, when they're lining up and. And checking on the merch and stuff like that is, you know, you have some heart dying like fans, like, they love you. They're showing up, you know what I mean? Two, three hours early just to get in line. So it's all about the fans, truthfully.
Tyrus
You know, and obviously, you know, my wife, Ingrid, her hustle was strong to get. She's still laying down the cities, you know, and the routes and that stuff. But it's been great for our family that she's been able to be home because obviously, you know, with Georgie, with her blowing up in the horse world, it's like a little Tiger woods or whatnot. But. And then we just continue to grow and grow. And now the problem is, is that we have to do two and three.
Kevin Francis
Shows, and sometimes two shows a night.
Tyrus
A night and two shows a day.
Kevin Francis
Yeah.
Tyrus
Which is again, the Tyrus Live tour is about. And no show is ever the same. I mean, like, some people make jokes and they say that, but we can honestly say. And was your idea of couple weeks ago where I was in a bad mood. I was like, man, I don't even. And. And very rarely do I not want to perform. And I just didn't feel like being funny. And you were like, just do 20 questions. Just, you know, And I was like. I went out there and I was like, I don't feel like doing a set. So look, we're going to play a game. You ask me a question, and if I can make a joke out of it, we'll keep going. And then once I get in a better mood, we'll start the show. We never started first time.
Kevin Francis
We never started the show. And it was in North Carolina, I believe is when we started doing that.
Tyrus
And then. But the cool thing was I was like, hey, man, I think I got like six new jokes out of tonight, you know, so it was just like. And we did it a whole tour. We got back to basics a little bit in Palm beach just because of the acoustics of the arena. That. That would have been a little difficult for you running around all those stairs and stuff, because it was very. So I thought of you. And I just, like, let's just do the work.
Kevin Francis
I appreciate that.
Tyrus
Yeah. Because I thought about it, you know? Cause I have a sense of humor. And you had a lot of interactions with silver foxes.
Kevin Francis
A lot.
Tyrus
And we hear some weird, wild shit. What, do you.
Kevin Francis
Really want to go down that road? Right.
Tyrus
Yeah, I think we have to. Because people don't believe the stuff. Because I think probably the funniest one is when we got. Well, one of the ones this weekend is we got chewed out because, like, you. You keep giving what she say? You keep giving attention. All these silver foxes. How dare you not recognize us cougars. We love you, too. And I was like, what am I. What am I running a zoo? You know, like, so, you know, all cougars and stuff. But you get it, too, you know.
Kevin Francis
Ladies, you know, for some reason, like, it's the. It is the silver foxes, you know, they'll come up to me like, oh, my God, you're so beautiful. And the way you move and all this other stuff. And I'm like, okay, now be careful because.
Tyrus
Because they have no.
Kevin Francis
They have no filter.
Tyrus
None.
Kevin Francis
But you know what. But you. But you also have to understand is the same energy that you give on stage.
Tyrus
Yeah.
Kevin Francis
They're going to give it back.
Tyrus
Right.
Kevin Francis
You know what I mean? So when they're standing in line, you know what I mean? They're anxious, they're excited. And then while I'm sitting up there talking with them, they're like, okay, he's a pretty handsome chocolate man.
Tyrus
Yeah. You know, there's a whole lot of jungle fever on our tour.
Kevin Francis
A lot of jungle fever. And the crazy thing is, still, to this day, a lot of people don't know what Jungle fever is. I think you need to explain that.
Tyrus
Yeah. No, because it was. I made that joke from that. Because a lady at a meet and greet asked for a hug, and when I hugged her, she did like a shimmy. She was like, tyrus, I believe you gave me Jungle Fever. And I was just. My mouth just hit the floor. And you just walked off. And I just was like. And I said, I don't think.
Kevin Francis
I didn't know.
Tyrus
Yeah. Because I said, I don't think anyone knows what that is anymore, ma'. Am. But jungle fever is when a white woman who has never interacted with a black man finds him attractive or loves him dearly. Yeah. You know, and it's. It's. It's an innocent thing, you know, because, you know, it's always very loving. It's not like, you know, dirty. I mean, There's. There's. You know, there's a difference. It's not. You know, they're not. You know, it's a. Sometimes it gets a little weird. But, you know, What? If you're 85, 90 years old, and you had your family bring you to an event, I. You can say whatever the hell you want. I got big enough shoulders, and. And I think I can handle it, you know, and it gets a little. It gets a little weird sometimes. You know, they say some things, and you don't. You don't expect, you know, a grandma, you know, to still be thinking that way, you know, and say some of those things. But probably the wildest one, I don't know, was the. The one with the panties. You know, throwing the panties is pretty wild, but you. That's a classic one.
Kevin Francis
I feel like my. The best one was when she was probably, like, in her early 60s, mid-60s, is when she was like, oh, I want to get a picture with you. But she, like, literally laid in front of you like this.
Tyrus
Yeah. You know, and then we were just like, what are we doing? Yeah.
Kevin Francis
And her husband's just sitting up there, just.
Tyrus
The poor husbands, they just got to take it.
Kevin Francis
It's sad, man. But, you know, at the end of the day, I feel like her husband was just so excited that she was happy.
Tyrus
Yeah.
Kevin Francis
To just experience in that encounter with you. So he was like, go ahead. You're making my year, you know?
Tyrus
Yeah. I need to be better like that. Because like when. When Ingrid's at a Coldplay concert with Georgie, and they're smiling and dancing and yelling, and I'm just watching, going, don't do that around me at all, you know, But. But it's like they're happy, you know, so, you know, good for them. But you're still kind of like. But the. The. The husbands handle it well. And some. You know what? Sometimes they say dumb, too, though, like, trying to be cool.
Kevin Francis
Trying to be cool. Hey, brother.
Tyrus
Yeah.
Kevin Francis
And they're just not knowing what to say or do.
Tyrus
Especially, like, they come up like, you know, as a white man, I was like, really had no idea. He's like, I just want you to know that. Well, I mean, I didn't. I guess I didn't need to say I was white. It's pretty obvious. But I don't have a problem with your being black. I just. No, I just. I was like, bro, you want to just walk off and come back and we'll just try this again? You know, let's start over. Hi. I'm Tyrus, thanks for coming. He's like, oh, I'm happy to be here. I'm white. She. Hold on. Give me a second.
Kevin Francis
Oh, man.
Tyrus
And it's like. But it's. It's cool that they're coming out of the shell because it has been tough. Like our. Our fans. It's funny because the younger fans tend to not buy the meet and greets because they get bought up quick.
Kevin Francis
Yeah.
Tyrus
And so it's. We have a crazy mix. And for a long time, you know, one of the, The. The shots that was thrown at us and we get that a lot is like, well, you don't have any black fans. And. And that's complete bullshit. We just. That's not true. Yeah. Just like, there's no such thing as a black Republican. And I remember how the. The show has morphed. When we first started, one of the biggest jokes you would have is you'd be like, hey, I'm a black Republican. They'd be like, oh. And they clap and they cheer. Now it's, I'm a Republican. You know, like, it doesn't. Well, first of all, I don't think you had to tell anybody you were black. But. But I'm just saying, you got two brothers coming on stage and foreign. It's no longer necessary to make reference because our work is more important to them than who. Where it's coming from. And I think when you get to that point, when you're. When you're base, when your fan base doesn't look. Always look like you, or there's so many different angles to it, I think that's what you want. You don't want to be in a box, you know, and unfortunately, in this crazy time, I think the tug of war has been over black identity on the political spec. You don't. Like. You're not. You speak well. You're educated. You took singing lessons. Your family's prominent Republicans. They're successful. So for some reason, all those wonderful things that anyone would strive to be at. To put in that work, for some reason, you're not allowed to have it because your pigment's dark, you know, and that, like Charles Payne experienced that. I experienced it in a different. In a different way. And you experienced that because you don't talk from the hood, because you didn't grow up in the hood. And. Yeah, but the hood is not a color. White people sound like that, too. Hispanic people. If you grow up in that scenario in that dialect or around that, you're going to talk that way. Sure. And as you educate yourself, you will grow sounding, speaking English clearly and not using catchphrases from specific areas and cultural gaps or whatever, should it never have anything to do with the color of your skin. And I know this. It's frustrating. It's so frustrating sometimes.
Kevin Francis
It really is. And at the end of the day, a lot of people see me traveling and doing all these other things, and I get a lot of backlash for it.
Tyrus
But.
Kevin Francis
But it's. It's. It's not about race, man. This is. This is. This is. It's clearly of just who I am. I'm an American at the end of.
Tyrus
The day, okay, An American can sing his ass off. Because once you start singing, there's not a. I'm telling you right now, if. If anyone has come to my show, I have never seen one person after you do your set, go, ah, I don't know. You know, it's like, oh, my God. Oh, my God. I didn't expect that. Oh, I did not expect that. You know, the only thing that pisses me off is when they come on my meet and greet and ask for pictures with Kevin. You know, I'm like, hey, hey, hey. That's a whole different fee, bro. But. But it's like the. The art. The art and the message kills all the bullshit.
Kevin Francis
It does. It really does. And it just. It unifies us in just that moment that at the end of the day, we're just Americans, man. Spite of color, race, any of that. We're just Americans. Americans. And I feel like that's what's so cool about us always doing a patriotic number. It just. Just for a hot moment, it just reminds us that, you know what, at the end of the day, spite all the. The bullshit, we are an American. So we're all Americans. And you know what? We're all out here just trying to make it, man. Just trying to survive, live, you know? And I feel like that's. If there's one thing that I can do for being Kevin Francis is just be me.
Tyrus
Yeah.
Kevin Francis
Just be an American. Not about me being black. It's not about me being a Republican. It's not any of that bullshit. You know, we're so sensitive today about so much shit that it's like, get the over it, man. Like, we broke if you're just complacent, you know?
Tyrus
And it's. What's. What cracks me up is another thing is, like, our shows is. Is not political now. I tell this. I make the jokes about meeting the president, but most of the show is making Fun of myself and life and anybody who decides to try to heckle. But, you know, but it's not. It's a com. And that's the. I think that's the biggest compliment we get after our shows is people are always like, I didn't expect this. Yeah. And.
Kevin Francis
Yeah.
Tyrus
And I am like, I will be back. And I think that's probably the coolest thing where I laugh, you know, I laugh so hard. Or when we get some of the praises and some of the things. And it's, It's. I never expected it to. I was doing it. If I could do a couple spots to say I did it, you know, I always wanted to do stand up stuff and it was always had doors like, ah, you're too big and everyone's gonna be afraid of you on stage. Like, I would hear all kinds of shit. And, you know, and then for us to go out there and not just do it, but we built a foundation on it. And there's been some backlash. Like, was there and you could just be real. Was there a point? Because there had to be some backlash with, you know, the whole stigmatism. You're black. And we, I. We work, you know, I work for Fox News. You're associated with Fox News. You even did the Gutfeld show. You sang on the Gutfeld show, which, when I hosted, which was awesome. But was there ever a moment where you're like, I don't know if I want this much heat? Because there is no because at the.
Kevin Francis
End of the day. At the end of the day, y'. All. Not in my life, you know?
Tyrus
Yeah. Yeah, okay.
Kevin Francis
You can say all the shit you want, but at the end of the day, you're not paying my bills. You know what I mean? You don't know me, so pretty much what you're. What you're doing is assuming, you know, and my mom always told me it is none of your business about what people think about you, you know, And I really try to live by that. But I would say a few family members were a little concerned. But see, my thing is the people that support you are never really your family members. It's, it's, it's the, it's the people in those small towns that are just like, oh, my God, no idea who you were. Like, do you have music? Like, do you have an Instagram? So with me being raised in the entertainment industry and this is something that you and I talked about, you know, driving to the next shows and things like that is you need to have tough, tough skin in this Shit in this game, you know what I mean? You can't let people tell you, you know, what's what and all that other stuff. So at the end of the day, I just had to realize, like, you know what? Hey, I appreciate your, you know, your thoughts and things like that, but hey, I'm going to keep doing me right, because I'm not going to continue to hold myself back because you, you know, your political views or who that person is and who I work for or what show so I've been on, you know, look at my success and look at yours. That's all I'll say.
Tyrus
Yeah, because very rarely do people on top punch down people who are winning. It's somebody who's not, who's always got something negative to say now. And you're an entrepreneur and listen, you're an entrepreneur, brother, if there ever was one. Now you don't just sing. And for a while, like, one of the things used to crack me up because you'd be doing business deals on, on the phone when we were driving across country, when we had, when we had the driver, we had the driver for a couple weeks and you were on there and you do the Airbnbs, right? And you were like, we need a king size mattress and what, you know, And I'm like, you're like, hold on. Click. What's the matter? The heater's out. And I was in the front, like, what is this? Are you. What are you. Are you selling shit? Like, what's going on? And you're like, I have several Airbnbs that I manage. And I was like, oh, well, look at you, you know, and then I was like, oh, man, I'm thinking Charles Payne taught me about the stock market. Like, oh, I have a portfolio myself. I was like, all right, mother. This dude's got. Seems to got one step in the. Like, you is, you know, And I'll say something like, man, I don't. Well, what you need to do is you need to open a 401 this and you need to open a non profit for that. And if you. And if you. I'm sitting there going, all right, Bill Nye the money guy, like, where'd this come from? So where did all that, like business? Was that just. Is that a family thing? Is just that, like, you're a young guy, you're not, you know, you're not an old man. And you usually, like, I didn't have my shit together like you did at your age. So, you know, where did that come, where did that hustle. Come from.
Kevin Francis
So my stepdad raised me. He was born and raised in San Diego, you know, and when he married my mom, he, you know, he took us along, you know, raising five of his, you know, five kids that didn't belong to him.
Tyrus
Your mom must be real pretty.
Kevin Francis
She's a beautiful black woman.
Tyrus
Yeah. Yeah, I understand. Picking up one, maybe even two. You scrolling up five. He had to love her with all that he was.
Kevin Francis
Yeah.
Tyrus
Because there's not room for new members. You got five.
Kevin Francis
There was five of us, and then he had two kids of his own, so there was a total of six of us. So we've always been a diverse family. But one thing that, you know, my dad did was when I was younger and I was singing and doing all of these shows, and he would take all my money, you know, he'd be like, hey, you know what? Give me your money. We're gonna put it in a savings account. So when you wanna buy something or when you wanna travel. And it was my dad that taught me how to have a high yield savings account. You know what I mean? How to buy stocks, how to pay off my property. Back at home in Palm Springs, it was him just kind of being the hard ass. I'm sorry, but he was. I love him for it, but thank God he did do that.
Tyrus
Yeah. Cause being stern and raising a boy to be a man is not. Is not jello. It's not one of your feelings. Because life ain't give. Life gives.00 about your feelings. Especially as a man.
Kevin Francis
Yeah, especially as a man. And, you know, I really wasn't huge into sports and things like that. Mine was music. And all of my brothers, they were all into sports. But one thing that my dad was always doing and really supporting me was always being there and teaching me how to be the man that I am today. So, you know, with the real estate thing and the property management, it was like, hey, Kev, what are you gonna do? You know, you're 20 something years old. Yes. You got a little money here and there, but we need to continue.
Tyrus
Right. And you're chasing the singing dream, which is not promised or guaranteed entertainment. I'm one bad joke away from all this shit going away.
Kevin Francis
Yeah.
Tyrus
You know, and you have to have something to fall back on.
Kevin Francis
Yeah. You know, and my dad always taught you, and everybody knows this, you need to have at least a year worth of savings, you know, if, God forbid, something happens. Just like, you know, the. You know, with COVID and everything that shut down, if it wasn't for my dad teaching me like, hey, you got that? You know that whole year's worth of money saved up? Yes, sir, I do. Okay, cool. Here's what you're going to do. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. So, you know, I have to give credit where credit is due. It was my father and my mom that really just had to teach us the basic principles of how to become an adult in my teens, you know.
Tyrus
Yeah.
Kevin Francis
And I'm really grateful for that.
Tyrus
Yeah. Because you didn't. You don't get caught up in any of this stuff. And I was caught up in it. You know, I had to have a giant chain to let everybody know I was successful. You know, you had to push the black man thing. And until you realize that, like, it's a design hustle for you to spend money where you shouldn't. You know what I'm saying? Like, you're not defined by your necklace, bruh. You're defined by your families, you know, the people that you're supposed to take care of and how you live your life. Your gold chain with your initial on it with all the diamonds, that's phenomenal. But that doesn't say shit about you as a person. And I used to wear my chain all the time, and I can't. Problem is, it's a trademark on our shows. But half the time I was like, oh, man, I forgot the shit. Because I realized that, like, pushing that thing, I'm so much more than a chain, you know what I'm saying? And. And. But it's also. And if I wear the chain because I just want to wear the chain, I don't wear it anymore because I'm like, trying to prove something, you know, And I feel like for especially brothers that are coming up, especially when you don't have guidance, you end up living your life being based off what you see on a commercial and music video. You know, like, you think that's. Yeah. And what you see out in the street and. And then you. If you're able to grow and not get stuck in on that in that muck, because it's like crabs in a bucket. You get in there and when you try to get out, the reason why all the crabs can climb out. If the crabs work together, they'd be out in a second. Or if they left each other alone, they could climb out. But every time a crab gets to the top, one of them pulls him back in and that's.
Kevin Francis
Yeah.
Tyrus
And I feel like in our. In our community, that's rampant where. And it doesn't even matter who who it is. Whenever a brother reaches a certain point, the hate usually comes from our own people, our own groups. And that's. And that's something that is frustrating. And then you realize that. But like, it's not. It's the. It's the group that needs attention, that's hating. It's not black people. It's this small. It's like the social media is not represent any group. It represents a very small group of selfish people because you're spending all day running your mouth about people because you're not doing anything about yourself, you know, so it. But it's something that I think has changed. I think especially in this. And again, I don't want to get too much into politics, but this last election, when brothers had just had enough, you know, they just had enough.
Kevin Francis
And they. Yeah, they had.
Tyrus
They just had enough of this shit, you know, and white men too, like men across the board just had enough of this shit, you know, because it's more. I would rather be remembered as a. As a good dude to work with, a good father, a solid friend, good husband than I would be the coolest brother, you know? Yeah. And I think once you get that mentality out of your head and you start realizing that, that, you know, life is more than. Than if you don't make it to the NBA or become a rapper, you know, I'm saying, like, there's more. There's more to life. And we don't. We need to start celebrating our scientists, our teachers, our. Our lawyers, our doctors. You know, we don't promote that stuff. Our singers, our guys who. But not just that, but the other things. The Airbnb, the. In business for yourself. Entrepreneurs, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, you know, investing, if you wear a Nike hat, own the stock. I want to stop. I mean, it's just a very simple. A simple thing like take chances, don't accept. No.
Kevin Francis
And, you know, one thing that I. I think that is really important is that we have gotten. We've created this. This idea around that there are not. There are still black men that don't support their children.
Tyrus
Yeah.
Kevin Francis
You know, and one thing that I. Being able to travel with you, you know what I mean? I feel like that's one thing that I admire and especially with me now, like wanting to have kids and stuff like that is. I see how invested you are with your children. You know what I mean? There. There are times where you'll be on stage and, you know, it happened.
Tyrus
It happened Saturday night.
Kevin Francis
You pick it up.
Tyrus
Yeah. My son got back from his baseball trial. Yeah.
Kevin Francis
And, you know, I feel like a lot of. I just want to put this out there, that there are still black men that are raising their children right. You know what I mean?
Tyrus
Yeah.
Kevin Francis
And I feel like that's one thing that I really respect about you, is spite that you being on the road or being in New York and stuff like that. Like, we were just in Florida and you had two shows that day and you're like, hey, you know what? Let's run over here and see Georgie jump. You know what I mean? Like, you retire. I know how you work and stuff like that. But one thing that I admire is that you really are there for your children. You're there for your wife. You know what I mean? Despite you being tired and all that, it really just shows a sense of there are still black men out there doing the work.
Tyrus
There are more brothers fighting for their kids than there are brothers hiding from their kids. And I refuse to believe. It's just that the only ones that get on social media, you know, is the deadbeat dads. No one ever. But again, I always talk about. No one ever talks about deadbeat moms, you know?
Kevin Francis
Yeah, that's true.
Tyrus
And we see a lot, you know, or people that go out of their way to. Again, relationships break down. And I'm not gonna sit there. And a relationship doesn't work out, whether it's your fault, whether it's the man's fault or the woman's fault. And you have a child, you gotta put your shit aside.
Kevin Francis
Yeah.
Tyrus
And it took. Listen, it took me a long, long time to not be so angry all the time because I'm like, I wanna see my kid and I have to deal with this and I have to deal with them. I have to deal with them. But once I started to just say if it's betterment for the kid, me fighting with the mom, even, like, why do I need to win the argument?
Kevin Francis
Sure.
Tyrus
Why do I need to. Why do I need to push back? Because it's not going to change anything.
Kevin Francis
Yeah.
Tyrus
You know, it just feeds into the. The attention scene. So getting into an argument with somebody who just wants to fight with you because they're angry with you because your shit didn't work out, or, you know, whatever the. The situation is. As a man, once your fo. Your focus is to provide. And I think Shaquille o', Neal, I think he probably has the best mindset. And I. He was like, I. I just take care of everybody, you know, I don't. I'm not going to argue with you, you, you're, you know, whether you, you know, you're the mother of my child, so I'm going to take care of my child and, you know, whatever you guys need. And I think that mentality when you're just like. Because if there's no if you're not there to fight with, eventually they're going to run out of the heat every time they're upset. I'm sorry I upset you. Even on the inside, you don't want to say that. You want to say is wrong with you. Like, this is why I don't, you know, like, you can't. You can't, you know, because now you're deep. Now you're. Now you're an hour in an argument that your kid is seeing and he doesn't get a lot of time with you anyways. It's quantity. It's quality over quantity. And you just spent 45 minutes arguing with his mom or her mom, and then now it's. And then the kid has to pick a side, you know, and you hate that because, you know, I don't. You know, they bring, you know, it's a weapon. Kids will be used as a weapon. So the non argument thing, don't be late with support. Be early. Yeah. You know, like, little things to set up. Because if your mindset is, I want my kids to be happy and comfortable more than myself, which means if you have to, like, put up with the. The side remark, you know, or, you know, like, oh, hey, I. Well, I guess, you know, because you were the white woman, you know, and you'd be like, yep, that's. That's how it is. It's how it rolled. Didn't start that way, but ended up there. That's where I'm at. But, you know, and. Because before you get offended and you fight back. But that was like the. But when you don't have triggers, you know, I hate that word. Anyways. But when they try, when they throw the jab, you got to remind yourself, I'm grown ass man. I could take a punch. Yeah. And after a while of you consistently not being that way, it does stop.
Kevin Francis
Yeah, it does.
Tyrus
You know, as long as you don't engage or worse, try to smooth it over, because then you end up in a whole other thing. Like once, you just, you just have to, like, let it happen and tell yourself the whole time, like, this is why I'm the father. This is why I'm the man. I'm supposed to be able to handle this when it gets negative and they Call you names and all that stuff because I used to do it. I used to feed on it. And I'd be fighting, arguing. And then guess what? I don't get to see my kid. But my, my kid doesn't reason why dad doesn't get to pick him up this weekend or the kid's not going to be like, well, they had a fight and my mom, you know, called them names. And so the kid just remembers. My dad didn't come. Yeah, yeah, you know, dad didn't come. It doesn't matter the circumstances, she's still there. Yeah. Good, bad or indifferent, she wins because you didn't come because you fought with her. And that's a hard lesson because also on other side of men, you know, maybe she left you and you're not over it. You know, and so every time you see her, it's not love anymore, it's a pan. It's like a panic. You got to try to say something to her to keep her engaged. And fighting is still engagement. So you gotta keep like, who's this? And that? That's why you this and that and argue and argue. But really what that is, is, is you trying to hang on to that person. And you need to realize that that is a disservice to your child. The only person and yourself and yourself. You're looking like a punk ass. You're looking back and you're not. But you're showing the ultimate weakness. Like if mourn that, go get a bottle and go sit in a corner. Have a friend watch you drink, cry. Get it out your system. You know what I'm saying? Get it out.
Kevin Francis
Therapy.
Tyrus
Get it out. Yeah, therapy. You know, I would like just to push back. I'm not saying that Jack Daniels is a therapist, but I'm saying it might have been, you know, under the right supervision, you know, just get it out. Sometimes you need to take a shot and be like, oh, and your boys are like, just let it out, man. Just let it out. And then, you know, you got to have the right friend who isn't gonna like six months now. Hey, man, remember when you was crying about like a, about that woman? You know? Like, I'm glad, I'm glad you turned it around, dog. I'm glad you turned around because we was talking about your ass, you boohooing in the back of the car and shit, you know? But hey, but we glad you good now, bro. And the same dude that's talking, as soon as he leaves the room, he like, hello, I don't know why you do me like that? Why? It's the same thing. Like you gotta learn and that comes with wisdom. And it also, you, you have to grow as a father. You, you, you got to grow and you have to look in yourself in the mirror harder than anyone else.
Kevin Francis
I think the most important thing is you have to grow from the, your father's trauma that happened.
Tyrus
Yes, okay, good point.
Kevin Francis
I feel like that is so important because a lot of, a lot of men today are only mirroring what they have seen or what they have been taught by their, you know, their father or not having a dad in their lives is like, okay, why am I treating her this way? You know why? Because at the end of the day you have to understand there's always two sides to a story.
Tyrus
Exactly.
Kevin Francis
You know, even though I'm gonna say this, God, but sometimes women do play the victim role a lot. I'm just, I'm just gonna throw that out there. But men have to take accountability for their actions too and be like, you know, was there something that, you know, came down that, that father line?
Tyrus
You know, just because you're over the mistakes that you made doesn't mean that she is, you know. Yeah, you know, and usually, let's be real, it's usually the guy who makes the mistake. It's usually the guy who up, you know, there's work, there's women, worse women, but who do shit too. But I'm just saying, it's usually the guy. And when it all comes undone, the guilt of the failure or the guilt of the discretion or whatever, you then now want to use that to hate her because she doesn't, you know, she doesn't feel about you the same anymore because you wronged her. And even though time passed and everyone's trying to get past it, you got you, of course, you the one who up, of course, wants to get past it as soon as possible. And then, you know, then the result is. And then you realize that in some cases they're never going to get past it. And then you need to make a decision whether you are going to weather the storm and be loyal and stand and you know, if it's, it's worth. Most relationships are typically worth trying to save. Or you have to do the stand up thing, which is hard for guys to say, obviously I've wronged you and it's not working out. So, you know, we need to, we need to, you know, that's not an easy thing to say either. Or when you get the truth, like you want to be in the relationship, but she doesn't feel the same anymore. And the mother's like, I'm done. You can still see your kids, but I'm done. You have to accept that.
Kevin Francis
Yeah.
Tyrus
You can't challenge. You have to accept it whether you, you cannot challenge it because it's. If, if you, if you didn't have a kid involved. Sure. Like challenge it because in worst case scenario, you will never speak again, you know, because you have no connection. But if that's what she's saying to you as a father, your feelings as a husband or a friend are irrelevant. It's your is completely irrelevant. And you as, that's why you, you're stronger. You got the bigger muscles. You got the broader thing, like you gotta weather the storm and you gotta accept it and you gotta eat it. And it sucks. And it's not. There's no dessert in sight. It's straight liver. You're eating nothing but liver and it ain't cooked right. That's the best way I can describe it. But when you swallow that shit and you get it down, you're gonna be a better person for it and you're gonna have a better relationship with your kids, moms. But being a father was a work in progress for me. I had absolutely no role models at all to go off of other than football coaches. And I, like I said, at first I ran from it, didn't, was afraid of it, didn't understand it, and then I embraced it and then basically dedicated my life to trying to make sure. And it's one of those things where I, all my kids live in different states and I go through phases where I don't get to see my kids are. Go through issues or whatever. But the one thing that nobody can say is that my children are not taken care of. I always make sure they have everything they need. And then when I don't get along with the mom or they know their first power is, oh, she's not coming to see you. I don't fight it. I'm like, okay, because eventually. But the check's on time, birthdays are on time, the texts are on time, like, hey, checking on you. How's my sweetheart? You know, whatever. And eventually they're going to run out of excuses. But if I engage and I fight or I make threats, it only prolongs it, you know, and that's. And that. But it's not, but that's not easy. I'm sitting here now, but I'm telling you 10 years of not doing that, of fighting and arguing or Five or six of just driving myself insane. It's probably why I lost my hair. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, like, I had a full head of hair before I had kids, and now it's gone. You know, like, that's just real. I had a beautiful mohawk. Yeah. All my kids were born with the same Mohawks, you know, so there was, like. I didn't even need DNA tests. Georgie had it the most. Georgie had the perfect mohawk ever. Like, I was like, there was no question, like, to the point where my baby girl came out with the exact mohawk that I had. And I was like, I can't even. You know what I'm saying? Like, wow. You know, and it lasted. Her mohawk lasted forever until her mother was like, it's uneven. I'm cutting it, you know, because it just grew. Like, she had legit, like a rooster's comb mohawk at, like a month. Like, it was just the most perfect. And it was black. It was exactly like me. Like, the same hair. As soon as it came over, all grew blonde, you know? But, like, before she cut it, I was like, this is my little monster. You know, I show you the videos where she's growling and attacking everybody with her little Mohawk. So. And. And there are certain moments of a father when you look back and you're. You think about the. The hardships, and then you. I got to. I got to enjoy those things, you know, in a time when her mother could have been like, hell, no, you know, because I don't pretend that I was. I did not have my issues, especially with relationships and trust. Yeah. And you got to kind of figure it out. And hopefully when you finally do figure out, you don't have a lot of roads of destruction, you know, from people you've hurt or who have tried to love you and you made them pay for it. I've tried to go back to anyone I've wronged and righted it, you know, good, bad, or indifferent. It doesn't mean they're going to forgive you, and you can't look for their forgiveness. You have to forgive yourself, and you have to own what you've done, and you have to respect how they feel about it, but you don't need to add on to it. She's never gonna forgive me. So her. You know, like, yeah, you know, it's like, she's not gonna forgive me. And I understand and respect that. And once you get to that point, I think life's a lot easier in terms of, like, there's no. You can't have animosity even though it's not fair. Life's not fair and it's not gonna be fair. But yeah, nobody said father fatherhood came with a reward or hearts and whistles and candies and bells. No one said that. You, you gotta show up and it sucks. And you need to lose, you need to miss some stuff. You, I have to have some missed meal cramps to make sure your baby mamas or your, or your, or your estranged wife or your wife or whatever your situation is that they're taking care of first and foremost. And you said so if you have a big ass necklace around your neck and make sure they got, they, they better have, they better have a bigger one or at least their cars better run. The lights better be on. You know, lights better be on. They're not calling you going, hey, I'm at the supermarket. And your, your car declined. Like none of that. Then get your chain. Then get your chain. I, I wanted Rolex for so long, bruh. I'm still rocking my military one, you know, Like, I wanted a Rolex, but a Rolex ain't in the car. Cause my daughter jumps. My son plays baseball. My wife has her stuff. My other kids have their dreams. So I'm just like, maybe next year. Maybe, maybe next year. And by the time I get a Rolex, I won't be able to see anymore. To tell time. I'll be like, I got it, but can't see shit. You got a digital one. And I don't think they do. I don't think they have digital Rolexes. Not yet.
Kevin Francis
Not yet.
Tyrus
Soon. Or like a super. I'll need a big ass face, the biggest face. Look, just so I can tell time. But event I'll get there. But you take care of home first and. Absolutely. But I appreciate that, man. I appreciate you bringing up the fatherhood thing because you do sue and you do. You did say to me in the car. And I don't still know how to. Whether it was a compliment or a back ended compliment. We're driving and I think we had a four hour drive at night. We're driving and I just got off the phone. I talked to Georgie, then I talked to Seosi, then I talked to Re, and I think I sent Nala a text. And then I talked to Rhett, my. About the animal stuff and, and we're driving and you're like, hey, you know, you're a good dad. And I was like, thanks. He's like, no, seriously, I like, I mean, you're a really good dad. And like, I'm. You're always checking on your kids and stuff. And you're like, that's really cool. Like. And I was like, whatever. Do you mean, like, what did you think of me before? You know, you're just like. You were just like, No, I mean, I just didn't expect it to be this level of dadness, you know? And I was just like, cool.
Ryan
Yeah.
Tyrus
Like, it was like a backhanded. Like, I thought you were going to be a dick, you know, like. Or like as soon as I got in the car, like, strip club straight ahead. We only have one destination. It's a hotel, which we won't say because we're not sponsored by it yet. Yeah. And if there's a Waffle House on the road so I can get my eggs, that's. That's, that's the code that we live by. Or a Topgolf. If there's a topgolf in the vicinity where. Those are my. Those are my things. That's it. You know. And occasionally a karaoke bar, which that is still. Now, My son Rock used to. Yeah, my son Rock used to do tours with us and he did the Merch. And one night we. I think it was. Was it Texas? Anyway, great finds. We came out and then we were. It was the last night and there was. We were hungry and there was a little karaoke sports bar or whatever. And we went in there and all these people were singing like they're. And the karaoke places, like these people act like they're professionals, right? Yeah. And I looked at you and I was like, are you. And I, before I even say to you, you made a beeline and to sign up. And I was like, hey, sign Rock up. He's new on the tour. He needs to sing too. And I, he. But when you started singing, the person before you was tone deaf, right? And couldn't say. Everyone who was singing couldn't sing. They just, you know, they had a few beers and they wanted to, you know, whatever. And then you got up there and you started singing and you were like hitting the. You were singing like it was a performance. And I remember there was this old white man who looked like he looked like a skinny Santa Claus, right? And he was at the bar, he had a two piece suit on. He's getting his. He's getting a drink at the bar and he's. And he just turns around while he's drinking and looks at you, drinks his drink, turns around and then walks to the center of the stage where you're Singing and just looks at you like, you're this beautiful angel that has been bestowed this voice. Where is this voice? And he just starts. And then he just starts going like this. Going like, putting his hands, and he's just. And I'm watching this dude, and I'm just like. And I remember grabbing my phone slowly, like, oh, I gotta get this. And your eyes were closed because you were in it. You were before. Like, the whole bar stopped. And the whole bar stopped, and everyone's coming to the stage while you're singing. And the guy was just. And I just said to him, he's pretty good, right? And the guy was like, he's beautiful. He's so beautiful. And then he looked at me, he's like. I mean, his voice. His voice is beautiful. Like, I'm not talking, you know. Yeah, yeah. He's like, yeah, no, no. Like, you know, I just really like that song. I was like, no, no, it's cool, bro. It's cool. I was just. You're really into it. And he's like. And then he just. As soon as he. I left, he just kind of gave me a look and was like. And went right back to his deal. So, I mean, it was cool. And then my stepson went up there and he sang, and he didn't get the same reaction, but.
Kevin Francis
But you got to give rock some credit. He can rock.
Tyrus
And he could sing a little bit. He could sing a little bit. He just had to follow you. That was the problem. We should have stuck a few. Couple other ham and eggers in there.
Ryan
Yeah.
Tyrus
And then let him. Let him kill us. Little killer show. But he did the whole thing. Yeah, he knocked it out and. But that was a big moment for him. He. And I say, hey, man, you just sang with professional, you know, and. But that's kind of like. It's been a fun thing. We got. We're getting ready to ramp up our tour. We got some dates coming up two weeks out.
Kevin Francis
We're the 29th. Or no, the 30th and the 31st. We'll be in Melbourne, Florida. Then we got Venice, Florida coming up. That's at the end of this month. And then we have no next month, which I believe is like the 24th. All the way down through, like the 27th, I believe.
Tyrus
Yeah, we got. We got a big little, big little.
Kevin Francis
And then we have our big one in Northern California coming up as well.
Tyrus
That's in February, right?
Kevin Francis
That's in, I believe, April.
Tyrus
April. Okay. We got stuff in February. Like I said, I just checked I got so much stuff going on. I got. My graphic novel just came out. Georgie's book is out, my book's out. Like, you know, it's all at once. And then we got the tour. And of course, you got to keep a high level at Gutfeld and, like, you keep doing all the things. Now listen, before I let you go, I have this new segment debuting today where Ryan and Harry. These are my. These are my. I guess my pupils, right? They're on my team. They want to do a thing where they each ask you five questions, like, what's it like working with Tyrus? And compare it to them, but without me being present. So I won't see. I will not see whatever you guys discuss until it airs. Okay? So.
Kevin Francis
Okay.
Tyrus
But I will see you after it airs. I just want to put that out there. We will be on the road together, alone in small places. So I'm not. I'm not saying don't. I mean, be real. Keep it real. But just saying, you know, there's repercussions to consequences in life. I'm just saying. Not that I have anything to worry about. God will find me.
Kevin Francis
I'm just saying. Yeah.
Tyrus
If something happened to him, the old man in the bar did it. The one armed man in the bar did it. Yeah, the one armed man did it.
Kevin Francis
Right by Texas.
Tyrus
Yes. So without further ado, let me bring Ryan and Harry in here real quick, and I'm gonna. I'm gonna step out. I'm not. I will not hear whatever's happening. You can tell them. Tell them the truth.
Kevin Francis
Okay.
Tyrus
All right. Oh.
Kevin Francis
Oh, now I'm nervous.
Tyrus
What's his name again?
Ryan
Harry?
Harry
Kevin. Kevin. Kevin, can you hear me, Kevin?
Kevin Francis
Yeah, I can hear you.
Harry
Oh, nice. Okay, you just heard Ryan. Then Ryan just said. What's this guy's name again?
Ryan
I just got here.
Kevin Francis
Like, did you not just.
Ryan
I just got here. I just got here.
Harry
Kevin, to be fair, he did just walk in.
Ryan
I did just walk in.
Harry
It's unacceptable.
Kevin Francis
I'll give you grace on that. Okay.
Ryan
I mean, you know how it is working for Tyrus. You know, it's always now. It's just us always all over the place. So, you know, I just got here.
Harry
So. Kevin, I'm Harry. I'm the guy who's been texting you. I'm texting you.
Ryan
Hey, man, I'm Ryan. I'm the guy that wishes he could be texting you.
Tyrus
So.
Kevin Francis
Hey, Brian.
Ryan
Ryan. Not Brian. Ryan.
Harry
You could call him.
Ryan
No, you can call me. No, no, no, Listen, Brian, Ryan, call Him, Brian. Tyrus calls me Caviar. But I mean, Caviar.
Kevin Francis
That's a good name, though.
Ryan
Yeah, I know. I mean, whatever. So, yeah, welcome, I guess.
Tyrus
Thank you.
Ryan
What is it like working for Tyrus from your perspective? Because we know what it's like and it's. Let's just let you answer. He's not here right now, so, like, let it out. He's not gonna ever see this.
Kevin Francis
You know what? It's. It's interesting days. You know what I mean? Like, you, You. You have to understand, like, he's a celebrity, so sometimes he's in his mood, sometimes he's not. I think the cool thing would probably.
Ryan
Mean by mood, not to cut you off, but what do you mean by mood?
Kevin Francis
Well, maybe he didn't sleep very well, so he's a little cranky. And, you know, he has this, like, look on his face that you're like. It actually looks literally like that photo in the back.
Harry
Like, you. Oh, behind Ryan.
Ryan
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that look.
Harry
Sorry, behind Brian.
Ryan
Brian, yeah, yeah, Brian, if.
Kevin Francis
If you see that look, don't talk to him. Like you just grab. Grab the bag, put it in the car and just drive. And you better pray to God that you do not miss a turn or you.
Ryan
Yeah, we know that.
Kevin Francis
I would say that look scares me a little bit, which. It's very rare that you see that look, but I feel like that would be the most scariest thing. But then the cool thing is that we can go to Waffle. I love Waffle House. Like, I'm a die hard Waffle House.
Ryan
Have you ever been, Harry? Yeah, I've never been to a Waffle House.
Tyrus
Waffle House.
Ryan
I'm from Long Island. We don't really have. We don't have Waffle Houses. We have diners.
Kevin Francis
Where are you originally from?
Ryan
Long Island. I'm Long island born and raised. New York. Yeah. No Waffle Houses.
Harry
The fun part about Waffle House is they encourage fights. Like, there's fights all over the Internet of. Have you seen there's literally fights in a Waffle House.
Ryan
Like, oh, yeah, there's always some story. 3:00am yeah.
Harry
There's not like one other organization that is like, you want to get in a fight, encourages it. Come here.
Ryan
Yeah, that's 4am I'm trying to think of any other place that encourages fighting. I mean, maybe, maybe like, I don't know, the terminal at Spirit Airlines or something like that.
Harry
Yeah, that could be rough.
Ryan
Well, that's good to know that working for Tyrus is as scary as it is for us.
Harry
Wait, I have a question.
Tyrus
What?
Harry
Oh, Kevin's buffering. Oh, no. Oh, there we go.
Tyrus
That's what.
Ryan
That's what Harry does to people.
Harry
Yeah, there's. There's. So when you get in the car, is it like, someone's gonna play music or is he weird about the air conditioning? Like, what is the.
Kevin Francis
Okay, so when I pick him up from the airport, here's what you have to have ready.
Ryan
You got the bed of your truck.
Kevin Francis
R B. R B has to be playing. Okay. And the AC has to be cranked up.
Ryan
Okay.
Kevin Francis
Like, that's that. Like, it has to be, like, ready to go. And, like, one thing that Tyrus hates. And this is. This is. This is. I don't think a lot of people know this, but he hates. When you open the door for him.
Ryan
I'm gonna open. We're gonna open the door for him for the rest of our.
Kevin Francis
If you wanna annoy him for, like, just for the rest of the week, just everywhere you guys go around the studio, just open up the door for him and he'll freak out.
Ryan
What else? What else really annoys him or pisses him off? You writing this down here?
Harry
It's just us. You can tell us.
Ryan
Yeah, yeah. Tyrus is never gonna see this. You think he's gonna take the time to sit and watch this? No, he's gonna be playing with horses or, you know, whatever he does.
Kevin Francis
Okay. If, like, at a meet and greet, there's someone that like, comes up and then like, goes like this to him.
Ryan
Oh, like. Like a buddy.
Kevin Francis
Yeah. Like, come here, pal. Like, you know, you get a lot of older men that are trying.
Ryan
Yeah, yeah. Trying to be, bro.
Kevin Francis
Yeah. Being like, hey, brother, you know, so good, great show. You could see it on his face. He's like, why are. Why are you touching me?
Ryan
Yeah, I got it.
Kevin Francis
Like when it's like the silver Foxes. When it's the silver foxes, they want.
Ryan
To go on him a different way. Let's just put that out there. They want to jump right on his lap, you know, make out. We know it. Greg, the host of Gutfeld, he. He loves making that joke about Tyrus. I mean, yeah, he's a good looking guy. You know, for a guy that's in his early, what, early 60s?
Kevin Francis
Like, good looking guy, I think. I think because he's so damn tall and big and buff. I feel like a lot of women are attracted to that because it's just. You don't see it a lot, so. Especially at his age. But I think, like, the Biggest thing is, like, when you, like, do that, he's a wrestler, so immediately I feel like it's. It's his response to, like, go back and he has to catch himself sometimes.
Ryan
So you think it would be.
Kevin Francis
So that's why I'm always.
Ryan
You think it'd be good advice, you know, for young guys. Right. Next time we see him open the door for him, be like, come here, Tyrus. Get over here. You know? That's good. Good advice, right?
Tyrus
Sure. Yeah.
Ryan
All right.
Kevin Francis
Harry, you got that?
Harry
Yeah, I got it.
Tyrus
Sure.
Kevin Francis
How tall are you?
Ryan
I am six, four.
Harry
You look pretty short, bro.
Kevin Francis
You are not. You're probably like, 5, 8, 5.
Ryan
I'm 5, 10. All right. My driver's license says 5, 10.
Kevin Francis
Okay. And then I would say here, you're probably, what, like, six one?
Harry
Oh, that's very kind. I'm six feet.
Ryan
Yeah. You got like an inch of me.
Harry
My driver's license says six feet.
Ryan
Okay.
Harry
But also, that's not a good. Because you actually put your own height in at the dmv and you look like. That's, you know, Kevin, driver's license. Isn't the end all be all. Someone's legitimate height.
Ryan
I'm also not the weight that I said I am on the driver's license. I mean, come on.
Harry
How much.
Ryan
How much are you walking around at right now? Bulking season. When I. And I. When I mean bulking season, you know, I mean, like, you know, dirty bulk.
Harry
Yeah, I'm.
Ryan
I'm a 190 guy right now.
Tyrus
Okay.
Kevin Francis
A little. Little hefty for 190.
Ryan
Yeah, but I don't look it, but it's all, like, muscle stuff. I know. I'm announcing to the world that I'm a fat piece of shit right now, but it's okay because, like, you know, like, I'm just putting on the muscle. I mean, whatever.
Kevin Francis
That's why.
Ryan
But that's why I'm like, I love Tyrus because he's, like, always like, oh, you know, work out with me. He's always asking us to work out. Always. Right?
Harry
Yeah.
Ryan
Yeah.
Kevin Francis
Have you guys not worked out with Tyrus before?
Ryan
No.
Tyrus
No.
Ryan
Does he hate that?
Harry
I feel like.
Kevin Francis
Yeah.
Harry
Does he have. Is he, like, a training partner? Is he, like, get out of here?
Tyrus
I.
Kevin Francis
It. It really depends if we're, like, on the road and it's like a. You know, we're just, like, trying to get in, get out. Absolutely. No. Like, I'm like, when we go to the gym, like, I'm doing my own thing. Tyrus Is doing his own thing. But I try to stay close just so, like, you know, fans come up, like, you know, I can.
Ryan
You're like his bodyguard. I got you.
Kevin Francis
I mean.
Ryan
I mean, how tall are you? You look like 5:3 from, like, our perspective.
Kevin Francis
Oh, you're so funny.
Ryan
Yeah, you're not funny, is he.
Harry
You're not funny, Ryan.
Ryan
That's why we have Harry here. He's the funny guy. How tall are you, Kevin? I'm six foot, so he'd kick my ass.
Harry
And it says it on your driver's license.
Tyrus
He.
Ryan
He'd be kick my ass. All right.
Kevin Francis
But I'm at. One of. My goal is to be at 215 to 20.
Tyrus
Okay.
Ryan
That's pretty good.
Tyrus
Yeah. All right.
Ryan
Good for you. I mean, yeah, he could definitely kick my ass.
Harry
Like, linebacker status.
Ryan
All right, so back to, I guess, back. Let's get back on track. Back to Tyrus. So, like, is this, like, community service, or did you, like, is this, like, a punishment like, that you had to do that? You have to help him. Because, I mean, like, you know, I don't know if you need, like, a mental evaluation to want to not even just open and represent him, but to, like, I don't know, like, he's. He's kind of like an intimidating guy. Like, who put you up to this? Are you all right?
Tyrus
I'm fine.
Harry
You could blink. Blink twice.
Tyrus
Yeah.
Ryan
Blink twice.
Kevin Francis
Yeah, blink twice. No, truthfully, I just kind of was just like, okay, do I want to do this? And I started doing a couple of other shows, and then I was like, you know what? He's pretty cool. And then there was one conversation. I'm not gonna go into it, but there was one conversation that him and I had. We were sitting at a. I think like a Cheesecake factory or something, watching the game, and that one conversation hooked me. I was like, you know what? I'm all in, bro. Like, you. You couldn't ask me to, like, stop what I'm doing. Do I have other clients? Yes. But, like, Tyrus is my number one. Like, he is the real deal. Like, so, no, I'm not. I'm doing this, you know? Like, I'm doing it because I love it.
Ryan
That's awesome.
Kevin Francis
Just being on the road and really just having the freedom to travel. It's great. Like, I love it.
Tyrus
Yeah.
Ryan
I mean, I'll speak for Harry and I, like, we all joking aside, like, we love hanging out. Tyrus, like, Tyrus is fun. You know, he's. He's fun. He's been Through a lot of stuff. He's been doing a lot of different paths in his career. So it's like, what better person to learn from than someone that's live life. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. That's why people love him on Gutfeld, too, because it's like he's not the political guy that's, you know, been the lawyer for 30 years. He's not the, you know, the. The person that's been in D.C. he's not the. The sports agent that, you know, has conquered every single league. He's just like a real guy that's lived life and kind of met different people, and that's why people love him on the show. Um, yeah.
Tyrus
So, yeah, pretty good.
Ryan
Pretty good answer. Pretty good answer. Harry, you got another question for Kevin?
Harry
I mean, that. That just about wraps it up. Kevin, thank you for being a part.
Tyrus
Of this inaugural segment.
Ryan
Of course.
Tyrus
Yeah, of course.
Ryan
Actually, you know what? I got one last question. One last question. I will keep it short. You said Cheesecake Factory is where you met Tyrus or had that big conversation. How much cheesecake did Tyrus eat? Did he have, like. You know how they have it all slivered and they have, like, the pieces of paper? Did he have a whole one? A sliver? Did you guys share one?
Kevin Francis
Inger is going to kill me if she watches this. Okay, so Tyrus usually has about two. Holy shit.
Tyrus
Yeah.
Ryan
And those things. Those things are like a brick.
Kevin Francis
And those are like huge ass cheesecakes.
Ryan
Yeah, I've seen the calories. And they have the little sticker on there. It says the calories on the bottom.
Kevin Francis
Yeah, yeah. And I'm like, dude, like, I'm just like, I'm in trouble. But, yeah, usually about two. But there was. There was one time. There was one time he ordered a lemon meringue pie. Okay. And I'm not gonna say where it was at, but it was somewhere. It was somewhere. And they bring this. It was a cheesecake. It wasn't lemon ring. It literally just had, like, this little sauce on it. Tyrus looked at me, looked at the server and said, what the is this? Like, it was. He was so pissed because I think he wanted. He wanted a lemon meringue, like, you know, like, with the cream and all of that. Like, he literally took that thing and threw it away.
Ryan
All right, America. So I guess if you ever meet Tyrus, open the door for him, put him in a headlock, and serve him really shitty cheesecake.
Kevin Francis
Lemon meringue.
Ryan
Lemon meringue. All right, cool. Thank you, Kevin. Nice to meet you, Harry.
Harry
Nice to meet you.
Ryan
Nice job, man. Hopefully Tyrus doesn't kill us.

“It’s literally down to you and me… It’s a two-man show… We don’t really do all those things because we really don’t need them because we have the people.”
—Tyrus (07:31–07:38)
“We have some hard dying like fans, like, they love you. They’re showing up… two, three hours early just to get in line.”
—Kevin (08:01)
“It’s no longer necessary to make reference because our work is more important to them than where it’s coming from… When your fanbase doesn’t always look like you… I think that’s what you want.”
—Tyrus (14:46)
“It is what it is. You’re just a simple guy. You go in, get it done. …It’s just been so increasingly growing rapidly because it’s just simple.”
—Kevin (06:37)
“A lot of people see me traveling and doing all these other things, and I get a lot of backlash for it. But it’s not about race… I’m an American at the end of the day.”
—Kevin (17:00)
“My kid just remembers: ‘My dad didn’t come.’ …It doesn’t matter the circumstances. She’s still there. Good, bad or indifferent, she wins because you didn’t come.”
—Tyrus (33:45)
“If there’s one thing that I can do for being Kevin Francis is just be me. …We’re so sensitive today about so much shit—get over it, man.”
—Kevin (18:29)
“You have to grow from your father’s trauma that happened. …A lot of men today are only mirroring what they have seen or what they have been taught by their father or not having a dad in their lives.”
—Kevin (36:23)
“Probably the wildest one… the one with the panties… throwing the panties is pretty wild. But you… that’s a classic one.”
—Tyrus (12:49)
“My best one was when she was, like her early 60s… she literally laid in front of you…”
—Kevin (13:04)
Segment starts at 50:42
