Hello, it's Miranda. I'm back with a new mini episode of podforce one. This feature is a little more topical and relevant to my job as a columnist for the New York Post Today. The topic is Dr. Anthony Fauci's Humiliating Public Defenestration in the Senate on Wednesday. What a cowardly and shameful final chapter for Dr. Anthony Fauci, who pleaded the fifth 111 times in the Senate Wednesday even though he has a presidential pardon that gives him immunity from prosecution. In the history of Congress, only a couple of mob bosses have invoked the privilege. More on the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based upon my rights under the fifth Amendment of the Constitution, the Machiavellian career bureaucrat said over and over in the nearly three hour hearing before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. But Fauci's silence rendered him a villain more powerfully than his usual sly deceptions. Shameful too were the Democrats and their media handmaidens who continued to run cover for Fauci, singing his praises and denying their flock the truth about a man who filled his pandemic diary with self praise and celebrity worship while remaining callously aloof from the human suffering he had caused. Fauci on Wednesday was comforted by the praise of Dem senators who hailed him a hero, thanked him for his service to this nation and sympathised with him as a quote, scapegoat of right wing conspiracy theorists. New Jersey Senator Andy Kim even quoted Roosevelt's man in the arena speech to valorise Fauci, the former top US Infectious disease expert who led the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for decades. Like the Black Knight in Monty Python, still pugnacious after being reduced to a bloody stump, the Fauci puffers refuse to see they have no leg left to stand on the damage their censorship did during COVID and their dishonest glossing of Fauci's reputation damns them. Yet instead of self reflection in the face of overwhelming evidence of Fauci's complicity in one of the deadliest man made health crises in history, they double down. History will not be kind to them either. Admit it was a mistake to fund dangerous research in China, said Republican Senator Rand Paul, the Fauci nemesis who leads the committee and is also a medical doctor who has closely studied the virus and the way it was engineered to hurt humans. Quote Admit that the risk of this dangerous research exceeded any possible benefits. Ask forgiveness and pledge to help our government devise safeguards so a man made epidemic Never happens again. End quote. There is no defending Fauci. His sins are too monstrous. The children locked out of school, the grandparents who died alone, the families torn apart, remain on his conscience. We would wish him jail. Yet he is unlikely to receive the punishment he has earned for directing tax dollars towards the dangerous gain of function research on bat coronaviruses in a Chinese lab that unleashed a pandemic that killed millions. And for the COVID up and associated lockdown he helped orchestrate. All he had to do was tell the truth, said Paul after the hearing, vowing to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress, the same charge that sent Trump advisers Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro to jail. At 85, Fauci may escape earthly justice, but his legacy is forever fouled. And the name Fauci will become a horror, a proverb and a byword among all the peoples to to quote the Bible. Still, the hearing convened by Paul and his Republican colleague Ron Johnson proved oddly satisfying. It was a long overdue public defenestration. To watch Fauci, sociopath that he must be, sit there rigidly, enduring a cold recitation of his sins from Paul and Senate colleagues, was cathartic. Ron Johnson detailed the human cost of Fauci's lies. Rick Scott summed up his legacy, quote, not as the man who saved America from COVID but as a man who destroy the public trust in America's public health institutions in exchange for five minutes of fame to fuel your own ego and be the centre of attention. End quote. Josh Hawley delivered the mocking coup de grace. Nothing says honesty like taking the Fifth dock and forced Fauci into the humiliation of pleading the Fifth rather than answering what colour his tie is, what deities, what colour is the carpet in front of him. The public gallery applauded when Paul threw out Fauci's arrogant criminal lawyer, David Shurtler, who seemed to think he could rebut the senators by proxy. Paul made a point of saying Fauci had a half a dozen lawyers still there to represent him. Who is paying? As we watch Fauci's downfall in real time, we recognize the echo of all the epic comeuppances of mythology and literature. His diary reminds us of the villainess of the French novel Dangerous Liaisons, the Marquise de Metu, an aristocratic widow whose evil manipulations and true character are exposed when her private letters are released for all society to see. It's confirmation that there is a moral accounting for us all. We owe a debt of gratitude to the Great Barrington Declaration heroes, Doctors Jai Bhattacharya Martin Kuldorf and Sunetra Gupta, who spoke up when it was dangerous and who Fauci tried to destroy. Elon Musk deserves mention for turning X into an open portal that bypassed the dishonest media narrative. We owe particular thanks to HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Whose doggedness unearthed Fauci's diary. Quote it took us about eight months to dig these out of 11 separate servers where they had been sequestered and secreted, he told Laura Ingram on Fox News. His 2021 bestseller, The Real Anthony Fauci, the first expose on Fauci, has stood the test of in his diaries, Fauci cursorily recorded death tolls alongside lavish details of the praise he received from celebrities and from political operatives posing as journalists who sent him private messages throughout 2020 egging him on to undermine Trump, feeding his narcissism. Their names are there for all to see their eternal shame. 41 mentions of supportive check ins and quote, friendship building dinners with Jake Tapper of cnn. Dana Bash, also of cnn, texted Fauci that he was a better man than Republican Rep. Jim Jordan. George Stephanopoulos, ABC texted thank you Tony. So impressive after Fauci clapped back at Trump's criticism of him as a fraud. Dr. Scott Attalus is another unsung hero and victim of Fauci's vindictiveness. Brought in late by Donald Trump in his first administration to challenge the COVID 19 task force group think under Mike Pence, Atlas was surprised to that he was the only one citing actual scientific data. He argued against the lockdowns and for focused protection of the elderly, but they treated him as a crank. I've never worked with such low level people, he said last week of Fauci, Dr. Deborah Birx and then CDC Director Robert Redfield.
