Foreigna I'm back with a new mini episode of Pod Force One. This feature is a little more topical and relevant to my job as a columnist for the New York Post. Today's topic is about the disturbing and continuing celebration of the slippery Dr. Anthony Fauci. What are the chances that he finally will be held accountable for his malign role in the COVID 19 pandemic and cover cover up? Will the DOJ find a way to get around the pre emptive auto pen pardon that Biden gave him as he was leaving office now that Fauci's right hand man David Morens has been indicted? Dr. Fauci deserves to be indicted. But he probably won't be because his role in the origin of the COVID 19 pandemic that he fought so hard to cover up opens a can of worms that nobody wants to confront. He has his great patron Joe Biden's blanket pre emptive pardon to keep him safe from federal charges. But the recent indictment of his former factotum David Morens on federal charges of conspiracy and record destruction for scheming to cover up Fauci's role in funding the risky gain of function research on bat viruses at the notorious Wuhan Lab in China where the COVID 19 outbreak almost certainly began, has raised hopes that Fauci is still in the crosshairs of the doj. President Trump has declared Biden's last minute auto pen pardon of Fauci invalid, which would make it possible that he could be prosecuted for perjury over his 2024 testimony to Congress. But even if that gambit doesn't work, Fauci's nemesis, Senator Rand Paul, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, has been busy busy building a case to subpoena the slippery scientist for another round of questioning under oath in which he will have to come clean about his role in funding the dangerous research in Wuhan lab via an Eco Health alliance cutout and his surreptitious efforts to discredit the lab leak theory that would have exposed his culpability. Any testimony after January 2025 is fair game for perjury charges. Fauci's boss Francis Collins didn't receive an auto pen pardon, so he also is fair game. Then there is the bombshell testimony last week from CIA whistleblower James Erdman, who alleged a multi agency cover up involving Fauci, who was then the director of the National Institute of Allergy and infectious diseases. Dr. Fauci's role in the COVID up was intentional, Erdman testified, alleging that Fauci inserted himself into CIA deliberations about the origins of the virus, once on February 3, 2020, and again on June 4, 2021, to try to influence the analysis away from the lab leak hypothesis most CIA analysts were leaning towards, and instead persuade them to accept the farcical natural origins narrative in which the virus bubbled up from an animal in a wet market fully adapted to infect humans. According to Eerdman, Fauci provided the intelligence community with a conflicted list of curated subject matter experts, public health officials and scientists, several of whom were involved in publishing the notorious and discredited Lancet paper the Proximal origin of SARS CoV2, which had dismissed the accidental lab leak theory. The idea of an accidental lab leak in Wuhan has always been regarded by honest virologists as the most scientifically plausible explanation. As Professor Nicolai Patrobsky from Flinters University in South Australia told me back in 2021, he was surprised, as were other scientists around the world, when it appeared that the very first strains of COVID 19 isolated in December 2019 showed that the virus was already perfectly adapted to infect and transmit between human hosts. Other scientists have pointed out that COVID 19 has a genetic footprint never observed in a Natur coronavirus, and that its immediate contagiousness to humans suggests it was man made. Erdman served in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence this year, helping lead the Trump ordered review into Covid origins. He testified that CIA analysts repeatedly concluded a lab leak was the most likely origin, but senior managers overrode them, much as John Brennan did in Russiagate with the Steele dossier. As former Trump official Peter Navarro says, Fauci never disclosed to Trump or anyone on the coronavirus task force back in 2020 that he knew the Wuhan lab was conducting gain of function research on bat coronaviruses. Nor did Fauci disclose, as we now know from his emails, that other scientists had told him as early as January 31, 2020 that the virus was likely engineered in a lab and not of natural origin. Attacks on me, quite frankly, are attacks on science. Fauci is fond of boasting when people start criticizing him. If he had any shame, he would keep his head down. But he still travels around promoting his self serving memoir and delivering keynote speeches and commencement addresses. He was just awarded the 2026 Distinguished Scientist Award by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. As if to rub in all the harm he did, Fauci, 85, was invited last month by Georgetown University in Washington as part of Climate Week to play a role in a dramatic reading of Sophocles Greek tragedy Oedipus the King, in which he played Teiresias, the blind prophet who delivers the uncomfortable truth that Oedipus refuses to accept. No prizes for guessing that Oedipus is meant to be Trump, no kings and all that. Back in 2020, Trump was widely mocked as a racist and xenophobe for peddling a conspiracy theory that the virus came from a lab in Wuhan, China. Scientific American blasted Trump's insidious false claim COVID 19 started in a lab. Anthony Fauci helped fan those lies. It was extraordinary that the COVID cover up was so successful. But as Hans Munke, the independent online sleuth who helped break open Russiagate, says, Trump Derangement Syndrome was the glue that held it all together. What every single player in this cover up, from Fauci to various scientists to the media to Biden's people and Democrats generally had in common was Trump hatred. They simply could not allow Trump to be right. And that's why Democrats and their surrogates invest so much effort in spreading TDS. It was the same with Russiagate, Hunter Biden's laptop, the rigged 2020 election, J6 and the climate Hoax Everyone is a naysayer. Every public expert elevated in the media doubts Trump, sneers at him and pretends what he's saying or doing is outlandish or insane. But look at each issue. Trump was right a thousand times over. But nobody will ever say, oh, sorry, we were wrong. They just smoothly move on or pretend nothing has changed. For instance, the IPCC just quietly admitted its apocalyptic climate projections of the last 15 years were just plain wrong or, in scientific lingo, implausible, just as their 2030 doomsday deadline was looming. Meanwhile, Al Gore has the hide to blithely flip from boiling oceans to dire warnings of a looming ice age. How does a generation of kids who were scared half to death by his stupid movie get back their childhoods? No wonder Greta Thunberg has forgotten her cataclysmic prediction that humanity will be wiped out by 2023 unless we stop using fossil fuels, she and her ilk have switched to lying about their latest bte noir du jour Israel. By the time the lies are debunked, the damage is done and the liars move on. Thanks for listening. Don't forget to come back on Wednesday for the next episode of podforce One with one of America's best journalists, Chris Ruffo. He's landed scoop after scoop on the absurd levels of welfare fraud in Gavin Newsom's California. How do the fraudsters get away with it? And how do Democrats profit? Hope you can tune in and have a great week.
Host: Miranda Devine (New York Post)
Date: May 18, 2026
In this sharply opinionated episode, Miranda Devine leverages her role as a New York Post columnist to dissect the ongoing legal and political controversies surrounding Dr. Anthony Fauci. Devine discusses recent developments—including the indictment of Fauci’s right-hand man David Morens—and raises questions about Fauci's potential accountability for his alleged involvement in the origins and subsequent “cover up” of the COVID-19 pandemic. She explores the obstacles to prosecution, legal maneuvers regarding presidential pardons, and new allegations of a multi-agency cover-up. Devine also comments on broader media and political dynamics, especially the roles of Trump and the Democratic establishment in shaping public perception.
Fauci’s Legal Shield:
Devine claims that Dr. Fauci currently enjoys a “blanket pre-emptive pardon” from President Biden, issued in the administration’s final days, which protects him from federal charges related to the pandemic.
Indictment of David Morens:
Fauci’s aide, David Morens, has been indicted on federal conspiracy and record destruction charges, specifically linked to actions allegedly taken to cover up Fauci’s involvement in gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab.
Invalid Pardon Claim:
Former President Trump has publicly declared the Biden pardon invalid, theorizing it could be challenged, opening Fauci to potential perjury charges for his 2024 Congressional testimony.
Senate Investigations:
Senator Rand Paul, now chairing the Senate Homeland Security Committee, is mounting efforts to subpoena Fauci again for questioning under oath regarding his role in funding risky research and attempts to suppress the lab leak theory.
Francis Collins Exposed:
Fauci’s boss, Francis Collins, did not receive immunity and could face legal jeopardy.
James Erdman’s “Bombshell”:
CIA whistleblower James Erdman testified to an “intentional Covid cover up” involving Dr. Fauci, alleging that Fauci directly intervened in intelligence analyses regarding COVID-19 origins.
“Erdman testified...Fauci inserted himself into CIA deliberations...to try to influence the analysis away from the lab leak hypothesis...” [01:35]
Erdman claims Fauci provided names of experts, several of whom co-authored the now-discredited “Proximal Origin” Lancet paper dismissing the lab leak theory.
Lab Leak Plausibility:
The lab leak theory remains the “most scientifically plausible explanation” per virologists cited by Devine, notably Professor Nicolai Patrobsky.
Alleged Intelligence Community Suppression:
According to Erdman, internal CIA assessments favored a lab leak, but “senior managers overrode them, much as John Brennan did in Russiagate with the Steele dossier.” [02:55]
Ongoing Public Honors:
Despite controversy, Fauci continues to receive accolades, such as the 2026 Distinguished Scientist Award and a prominent role in a Georgetown University “Climate Week” event.
Quote Highlight:
Media & Political Bias:
Devine criticizes mainstream media and Democratic “surrogates,” claiming a broad refusal to accept the lab leak theory and a pattern of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” as motivation for downplaying Trump’s claims.
Pattern of Narrative Control:
Devine draws parallels to coverage of Russiagate, Hunter Biden’s laptop, and climate change projections, arguing that media and expert consensus often serve to undermine Trump, regardless of subsequent evidence.
Climate Change & Media Credibility:
Devine critiques the “quiet changes” in scientific consensus on climate change, specifically recent IPCC walk-backs, using this to reinforce her argument about the persistence of uncorrected mainstream narratives.
On Fauci’s immunity:
“Dr. Fauci deserves to be indicted. But he probably won’t be because his role in the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic that he fought so hard to cover up opens a can of worms that nobody wants to confront.” [00:17]
On CIA testimony:
“Dr. Fauci’s role in the COVID cover up was intentional, Erdman testified, alleging that Fauci inserted himself into CIA deliberations...to try to influence the analysis away from the lab leak hypothesis...” [01:35]
On ‘attacks on science’:
“Attacks on me, quite frankly, are attacks on science.” —attributed to Dr. Fauci [03:18]
On Trump and the cover-up:
“What every single player in this cover up...had in common was Trump hatred. They simply could not allow Trump to be right.” [04:34]
On shifting climate narratives:
“The IPCC just quietly admitted its apocalyptic climate projections...were just plain wrong...Meanwhile Al Gore has the hide to blithely flip from boiling oceans to dire warnings of a looming ice age.” [05:31]
Miranda Devine’s Monday Mini episode is an incisive, critical dive into the obstacles and new developments concerning Dr. Fauci’s potential accountability in the COVID-19 controversy. She draws on recent legal proceedings, whistleblower testimony, and historical context, intertwining these with sharp critiques of the media and political establishment’s handling of pandemic and other national narratives. The episode’s tone is direct and polemical, presenting an unvarnished and controversial perspective aimed at listeners skeptical of mainstream interpretations.
