You know, there's something we've never talked about. I don't think. Have you ever done any animation?

I have. I've gotten a chance to do one show and I absolutely love it. I was. I had so much fun doing it. I was Pamela Hanster and Fish Hooks. It's a Disney channel.

[Will Friedle]

I think I was on Fish Hooks cartoon.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

And it was the main one was Kyle Massey, friend of the podcast.

Yeah.

And yeah, I got to go in and be Pamela Hamster, which was like, a love interest for him.

[Will Friedle]

So you did one episode.

I did, like. I feel like I did like a like two. Two or two.

Okay. So you had a little.

Wasn't enough for me, but I was. That's one of my. All my spirit C's are just like all the questions I have. So we'll get there. There's so many, but yeah. So one time. Loved the lady I worked with. I cannot remember her name, but she was awesome. And she was like, you would do really well in this industry. But it was like, right when I was doing of stuff with the Cheetah Girls and, like, just like jumping into that just didn't seem like it made sense. And I feel like I lost opportunity. We had so much fun, though.

Okay, so first, welcome back to Magical Rewind, the show that makes you want to grab your friends, your PJs and your popcorn, and go back to a time when all the houses are smart. That's right. Everybody says it wrong. Anyway, I'm just going to keep it that way. So my friend Sabrina here gets three Cheetah Girls movies to review, and now I'm just doing my best to keep up. So we've watched My Date with the President's Daughter H double Hockey sticks, and now we're gonna complete the Will Friedle trifecta. By the way, apologies for constantly speaking about myself in the third person in this episode.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah, that's hard.

[Will Friedle]

What's gonna happen? But we're gonna complete the master amazing Will Friedle. I added those two words trifecta with 2005's animated DCOM, the Kim Possible movie. So the drama Sabrina, no judgment. Did you watch Kim Possible at all growing up?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I did.

[Will Friedle]

Did you really?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I did, yes. Like, you know, I watched pretty much everything on the channel.

[Will Friedle]

You're a big fan of the channel.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

You know, I mean, I remember meeting Christy Carlson Romano very early on in my Disney Channel days and was completely starstruck. Not just because of even Stevens. Big reason was Kim Possible. I loved it.

[Yo Castro]

Awesome.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yes. When I got the call for this podcast that you were interest in getting together and doing a podcast together and co hosting, I could not believe it. And again, not just because I loved Boy Meets World, but because of Kim Possible. I love cartoons.

[Will Friedle]

That was before you met me, though. That was before you met. We're 270 episodes in now. You wish you didn't do it.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Right.

[Will Friedle]

But we'll be okay. I got her. I got her. Excellent.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

No, it was very cool. And just again, like I said, I loved the idea. I mean, I would love to get into voice acting. It just seems like it's so much fun. And when I got a chance to do it, it. Not that it's like the easiest work, because it's not. You are so exhausted, but it is so cool. The fact that you don't have to do hair and makeup is just. I mean, just the best.

[Will Friedle]

It's the best for me. For somebody like me who always struggles with my weight too. It's like fat, thin, fat, thin, didn't matter. Voice always the same. It was really wonderful. The show Kim Possible ran on the Disney Channel for four seasons. And we'll get into why that was special. From 2002 to 2007, we did 87 episodes in total, plus a crossover with Lilo in Stitch the series, which is funny because I'll still get residual checks where I'm like, lilo and stitch for 12 cents. Is this me? And I was like, oh, that's right.

[Wilmer Valderrama]

We did a.

[Will Friedle]

We did a Kim Possible one and we had a ton of merchandising coming out. Toys, videos, school supplies list goes on and on. We didn't get.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Did you guys have any video game type stuff?

[Will Friedle]

Yes, we did. Well, we did the really cool one at Epcot center where you get a communicator for kids when you walk in, and then we guide you around the park to find certain treasures that was there for a while. That, yeah, that was fun because it was like, okay, here you are, you're. You're in Epcot center now. You got to go over here like it was. And then you go around, you do a whole bunch of stuff. So that was a lot of fun. And then I want to say we did another something video game wise, it blends. But yeah, with all the toys and videos and everything, we didn't get anything for that. But it didn't matter because we were having so much fun. This was actually the second original in house animated series on the channel. The first was Proud Family. Kim Possible was created by Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle, two Disney veteran writers who worked on the spinoff shows like Aladdin, Her Hercules and Buzz Lightyear Star Command. This movie, however, was advertised as the first animated Disney Channel original movie, the first animated dcom. And you might be asking yourself, well, how is that Kim Possible? I'm gonna be doing that a lot too. Apologies, since this is actually the second movie made for this very show. Well, yes, our first film, A Stitch in Time, wasn't really counted as a dcom, despite the fact that it aired exactly the same way. I know it's a true technicality, but at least we're only beating ourselves, which is true. So we're either 1 and 2 or 1 and 1. A lot had to do with Kim Possible. Most listeners know that I was the voice of Ron Stoppable, the sidekick of Kim Possible. But maybe you don't know that this was set to be the series finale. It was. So the drama was gonna wrap everything up. We were told we were done. And then something extraordinarily happened which had not happened in the history of the Disney Channel. And this, keep in mind, people, in 2005 was pre social media. There was such a big write in campaign, actual handwritten letters written in, that Disney gave us a fourth season. First time that had ever happened.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

That is amazing.

[Will Friedle]

Isn't that incredible? And again, all pre this Wasn't press a button on your phone. This was sit down and write a letter or make a phone call.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Find where to mail it.

[Will Friedle]

Right. Exactly. Which for kids is the thing you stick on the top of a letter, which for kids is a thing you write with your hand, which for kids is the thing that used to be a pen. There was also a live action Kim Possible movie made much later in 2019, but we don't talk about that, because it was.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Did it. Come on. Did it try to sneak onto your screen right after this movie? Because it did.

[Will Friedle]

It always tries to sneak on.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

It always tries to sneak on after this movie. Rewatching it as soon. I mean, the credits rolled. They didn't even roll all the way. And boom. It's like the intro to Kim Possible. I was like, nope.

[Will Friedle]

And for the only watching anybody out there who's a big fan of the Kim Possible film, you're wrong. No, I'm kidding. I've never seen it. I've literally never seen it. So it could be the greatest thing in the world, but I don't think it is. And the Sean Giambroni. I forget the name of the girl who played Kim Possible. Sean Giambroni, who played Ron. I hear he was great. We got to pass. Well, I insisted we pass the torch. I wrote something that we shot for Disney at Disney with Garry Marsh, where it's. They're auditioning for the new Kim and Ron live action. And Christy and I dress like Kim and Ron, come in, and clearly are too old, but are pretending to be Kim and Ron in our, like, our 40s. It was very funny, and we got to pass the torch a bit, but I've never seen that movie. And if magical Rewind makes us watch it, there's gonna be hell to pay.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I was, like, wondering. I was wondering, is that coming?

[Will Friedle]

Oh, of course it is. Eventually, we're gonna have to. So that's gonna be 90 minutes of me batching.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

So was that. That was a dcom, though. That wasn't a feature film.

[Will Friedle]

That was a full dcom. That was a straight up dcom that they. Christy was in. They asked me to do a small part in, and I politely declined the original plan for this movie. So the drama was to be released theatrically, which, again, would have been really cool, but we have a movie called Teacher's Pet to blame for that not happening. When Teacher's Pet bombed at the box office, Disney pivoted and put this straight to TV. The movie debuted on April 8, 2005, but we had a strong premiere ranking in 3.5 million viewers, which was also a reason why we got renewed for the next season. This is a post y2k dcom. So, you know, it had a soundtrack. The main song is Could It Be? Which is a love song performed by, of course, my friend Christy Carlson Romano, the star of the film, who we will talk more about soon. The song plays at the end of the movie, during the credits, and during a pivotal life changing scene between Kim and Ron. Get yout Shine on by Jesse McCartney, also played at the beginning of the prom. And so more trivia here. The original title was set to be Day of the Diablos, which was a nod to some of the bad guys in the film. But in the end they went with. So the drama, which, which, which one do you like better?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I feel like. So the drama just goes with the show. Like, it makes sense. The Day of the Diablos, I'd be like, what, Where. Where are we going? What's happening? Like, stitching time.

[Will Friedle]

All that stitching time. Like, all that stuff works.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah, it does. It's. It just plays on, like, kind of. That is your. Like, we had, you know, the, the cheetah lingo. Like the cheetah chatta. Right. That's part of the Kim Possible's like, vocabulary. So I thought it was Totally is a way better title.

[Will Friedle]

I agree 100%.

Since you're close personal friends with Mr. Ron Stoppel himself, you knew all about the show, obviously. But did you know Kim possible technically had 2.5 dcoms at the time?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I didn't. I didn't. No.

Well, it's awesome. It's pretty. Booyah. Well, you can watch Kim Possible. So the drama right now on Disney, it's part of their standard streaming packages, but I've heard there's a deluxe Disney plan too, where if you pay $300 a month, a man dressed as Goofy comes to your house and just tells you what's airing on Hulu that week. He breaks down the Mormon Wives show. He tells you if there's a new episode of the Bear, no one has any idea who's under the mask. And they can't promise. He doesn't have a criminal record, but it still interests me.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I signed up for it. It's pretty cool.

I love it. Anyway, there's also going to be a number of euphemisms in this episode. Here's the first one. Grab your naked mole rat and turn on your beeper. Here is the synopsis. High school superhero Kim Possible faces the threat of world domination by her nemesis, Dr. Drakken, while juggling junior prom, a new boyfriend named Eric, and that her longtime best friend Ron harbors hidden romantic feelings for her. Sabrina, hold no punches, please. I am but a paid voice actor in the game of Hollywood. What are your early thoughts on Kim Possible? So the drama.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

So I had never seen this movie before. I watched the show as I was younger growing up. If it ever came on the channel when I was older, I would watch it. I liked the show, and of course, I have high expectations for the movie. And in all reality, I've gotta be honest, this one does not disappoint in any sense. It is so good. It is everything you want. Except for we do need to talk about the ending when we get there.

[Will Friedle]

Okay, fair enough.

Ooh, I can't wait. I love this movie. This is the best movie ever made in the history of the world.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Did you like doing this movie? Was this an exciting, exciting thing? First of all, take me there, because I didn't know the information about this being like, in a sense, when you guys went to work on this, this was like, this is it. We're done with Kim Possible. So, like, what was that like? Like feeling like you were, you know, paying homage and like, you know, putting a big character kind of to. To rest.

[Will Friedle]

Yeah, it was. I mean, it's. It's always bittersweet with stuff like this. The thing with most animated series, unlike primetime animation, Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, unlike shows like that, you know, when you're doing a regular daytime animated series, that it's a very finite experience. Normally you're doing two seasons, three seasons at most. If you get four, you're in, like, the upper echelon. But for the most part, you know, when you start, there's a. There's a very definitive end date. Right.

So.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

And is it shorter? Like.

[Will Friedle]

Oh, yeah. Well, Disney.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

What's the.

[Will Friedle]

Disney has a 65 and out rule, so. Well, I mean, like Batman, when I did Batman beyond, we did 65 episodes and a movie.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Okay.

[Will Friedle]

And so that's usually the way it comes, you know, justice league, Batman, the Animated series. Two, three seasons, and you bounce, then you get.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

And there's your time in between, like the end of a season and the start of another one, like they do with other shows. I don't think I've ever paid attention to that.

[Will Friedle]

Yeah. I mean, again, you have to keep in mind that especially back in the day, it's gotten a little, little shorter. But not for the really, really intricate animated shows. Will record an episode takes about four hours, four to five hours, depending on how many people in the cast are there. You record the episode and then it's sent away from anywhere from 8 to 12 months and you don't see it. It takes almost a full year to animate an episode. Then it comes back like a year later. And then you look at it and you do something called an ADR session, which is a cleanup process, where now we're actually watching what we did. So we sent our voices away. They animate around our voices. And keep in mind, this is. It's. It's super interesting. A lot of the countries that they're sending these things to animate to are Korea or Japan. Now they're getting into some of the other. But those at the time were the big places. And some of the people that are animating don't speak English.

[Wilmer Valderrama]

Right.

[Will Friedle]

So they literally have a breakdown. I've seen the breakdown of the. The shape your mouth takes when it makes a certain vowel. A, E, I, O, U. And then the word what it would be. And so they're just animating to the sound because they don't necessarily understand the words. That's not obviously to say nobody there speaks English, but no, no saying. There's a lot of people that work on these things and some of them are just animating by sound. So it comes back a year later and you find out that, hey, you and I recorded a scene together that was very intimate. And we're. We're talking to each other from a foot away. And then when it was sent away, they decided to use a different background. And now we're across a canyon. So now we have to re record it and fit it into the mouth flaps. We're actually yelling at each other.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Got it.

[Will Friedle]

It's also all of the fight stuff, you know. Okay, you're gonna get. We call it Oof and Ugg Day, where. Okay, you're good. Today's your. I remember, for instance, the opening scene of Batman Beyond Return of the Joker, which was the movie that we did. Just the opening fight scene took us two days of oofs and uggs because there was so many. And it's little kick, big kick. Okay, now you gotta jump. I mean, you'll do that for five hours a day. So those are. Those are fun.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

And then you had mentioned that. So as soon as this movie starts, that's the first thing I'm thinking about is just like the listening to all the hoots and the huffs and the

[Will Friedle]

kicks and ugg Day. Yep. So, yeah, we. It took a. You know, it takes a long time, and then they send it away and then it comes back. So it's kind of a. When you start the series, by the time you're done recording the whole first season, you might only have to wait a month or two for then, because it takes like six months to record a season. So, you know, in a month or two later, you come back in for the adr. And then if you get picked up for a second season now you're kind of on a rotating loop because first season episodes are coming in, you're doing ADR sessions while you're also recording for the second season, and everything kind of start. The machine kind of starts working.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Okay. It's just like a slow start, and then it just starts picking up.

[Will Friedle]

And the other thing you have to understand about a voiceover actor is it's. It's one of the most wonderful jobs in Hollywood in that everyone's equal all the time. So I've been offered a part here or there, but for the most part, everybody auditions. And you audition in bulk. So you will get. You know, your agent will be like, hey, you've got two auditions for this animated series, you know, two different roles on that. And then you've got a bunch of commercial auditions, and you've got this stuff, and you just. You record them, then you send them out into the ether and they'll come back sometimes four months later and be like, hey, do you remember that show? And you'll be like, no. And like, okay, well, you got the part. It was a chipmunk monk. And you're like, oh, okay. And then you'll go and record it. One day, you're the only one there. You've got four or five lines. You go and record it, and then you forget you did it. And eight months later, they call and they go, we need to ADR your chipmunk. And you're like, chipmunk? What are you talking about? It's like, oh, that's right. And then you've got to go back in and. And that's why they have references.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

The craziest problems. Mr. Will, I didn't say it was a problem.

[Will Friedle]

I said it's what happened.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I'm just saying it's just like, that is so wild. That's fun.

[Will Friedle]

And so they always give you your reference. You walk in and they'll be like, here's the character you did. And it's like, oh, okay, right. And you have to.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah. Because you have to remember like the. Like kind of. Yeah, well, perfect.

[Will Friedle]

We'll get into the actors on this show. But John DiMaggio is a perfect example on. On Kim possible, who plays Dr. Drakken. Because at the time he was, you know, he was doing Bender on Futurama. He's on Adventurable. So he would have trigger words, which a lot of people use, where it was like, every time he said the name Shego, he knew he'd say shego in such a way which would re. Trigger his voice for Dr. Drakken. So he'd sit down and go like, God, what did this sound?

[Diego]

That's right.

[Honey German]

Shego.

[Will Friedle]

And then he's right back into it. It's like, there it is. And so you find actors that do that all the time. It's like, oh, if I say this one word as the character, then I'm right back into where I was when I would. For Ron, when I'd say booyah. And Ron changed. The character changed from the beginning of the show to the end. And I kept tweaking the voice higher and higher. And this was like the pinnacle of how high it got.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

And.

[Will Friedle]

And I wish I had kept it the original way. I was listening to this the whole time going like, damn, I messed up this character. People loved it, really. But the original Ron, go watch the first episode. And then. So the drama, it's two completely different characters.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Wow. And I prefer the original that you prefer. But was that. Did it make it harder? Like, you're talking about, like, for me now I'm thinking voicing, right? Like, I'm thinking singing. You start going up into, like, a higher register to get that higher.

[Will Friedle]

No, see, I did that and I shouldn't have. They didn't tell me to do that. That was me like.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

But I'm saying, was that harder for you? Like, as you're going through.

[Will Friedle]

It was more fun. It was more fun. But I would like to have kept it the way that it was. When I watched some of the original episodes, I was like, oh, God. See, that was the voice of Ron. So, yeah, it was very.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

But anyway, cool.

[Will Friedle]

It's cool. Anyway, so the drama was directed by Steve Loder. Loder knew the property well. He had directed several episodes of Kim Possible is a great guy, with the first being season two's the Ron Factor. During seasons three and four, he would also produce the show alongside the series creators. He also directed American Dragon, Jake long, brandy and Mr. Whiskers, and buzz Lightyear Star Command, as well as the Tinkerbell film series. He currently serves as executive producer for two Disney Channel animated shows, the Ghost and Molly McGee and Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Christy Carlson Romano is the voice of Kimberly and Possible. Christy was the type of young talent Disney was always looking for, an actress singer hybrid. She's best known for starring as Wren Stevens and even Stevens, which does have a dcom we've recapped already. I can still traumatized by the kiss. And who could ever forget her as Cadet Kelly. Off screen, she was the youngest actress ever to play Belle in Broadway's Beauty and the Beast. And soon she will appear in the first ever Hallmark Channel and Disney team up. My dream, yes, seriously, ever after a Disney World wish come true. I've talked to her about it where she's like shooting at Disney World and it's like, damn you.

I know when I saw her at Disneyland, when she came in for our interview, I was like, you just booked one of the coolest things. Yeah, two of the coolest brands to be a part of together. And filming at Walt Disney World, that is the dream.

[Will Friedle]

Yeah, exactly. Exactly. I am, of course the voice of Even though Jensen likes to write Ron Possible, I am the voice of Ron Stoppable. Earlier today I ran by Costco Ice my knees that are shot from years of running and I have way too many podcasts and that's my background. Voiceover legend Nancy Cartwright is Rufus Cartwright might just be the richest voice actor of all time as she is the voice of Bart Simpson and many other characters in the Simpsons. She's also heard in Rugrats, Disney's the Replacements and Goof Troop. Fun Disney Channel trivia here. She is also Sabrina Carpenter's aunt.

Yeah. Another familiar Disney name, Taj Mowry is Wade. Taj was best known as child prodigy TJ Henderson on Smart Guy, but in real life he is the younger brother of twins Tia and Tamara and he also starred in two other DCOMs, Hounded and Poofpoint. And as we were talking about more Voiceover Royalty, John DiMaggio is Dr. Drakken. The unmistakable voice is best known as Bender on Futurama, but is also Jake the Dog in Adventure Time and Marcus Fenix in Gears of War. He is hilarious and still a good friend. Another funny human and another great friend. Just saw her at the Survivor finale. Nicole Sullivan is Shego. Nicole first burst onto the scene on MADtv but is most famous for her role on King of Queens as a lovable dog walker Hollywood. She's also the voice on Family Guy and most recently appeared on the show Sex Lives of College Girls. Gary Cole is Dr. James Timothy Possible. Cole is a cult legend since he played the boss in Office Space and Mike Brady in the Brady Bunch movies. He also starred in Cadet Kelly with Christy Carlson Romano as General Joe Sir Maxwell. More recently, you know him from being hilarious on Veep. He is hysterical. And one of the biggest actresses on HBO these days, Jean Smart is Dr. Anne possible. The Emmy winning actress has had success in all genres over her 40 year career. But recently she's been dominating comedy as the lead on Hacks, a show that just wrapped up this past month and will win many, many Emmys. By the way, I'd also like to point out Kim Possible had the greatest cast I think I've ever worked with in my life. And I met almost none of these people.

Really.

No. That when I was doing Batman beyond, we would. Andrea Romano, our incredible director, talk about multi Emmy awards. She has more Emmys than I have friends. She would always have all of us in the room, whereas Disney likes us to kind of record separately. So I met Gary Cole, but Gene Smart, Ricardo Montalban, all these incredible people. Never met him. I never once recorded with Raven.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

On the other one. You would record like together. Yeah.

[Will Friedle]

There'd be 20 of us in a room and you just. And you'd literally just read it like a straight radio.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Like a script.

[Will Friedle]

Yeah, all the way down. The best way to do it by far.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Like a script. Yeah, like a script read. Like you would do. Like a script read. You know, like a table read.

[Will Friedle]

You do it once or twice, then you, you do some pickups. But you, you get to play off of each other. It's great. And then I went to Disney and it wasn't. I was like, oh, I'm like by myself. And I actually complained and that's why I started recording with Nicole and John and we would do our sessions together because I just, I couldn't stand being by myself.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah.

[Will Friedle]

But yeah, didn't meet 90% of these people.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

That's wild.

[Will Friedle]

What's his name? Elliot Gould played Ron Stoppable's dad. Never met him. Raven Simone is Monique a Disney Channel Mount Rushmore candidate. We've talked about this actress, slash musician quite a bit on Magical Rewind, whether it's for Cheetah Girls. Xenon. That's so Raven or Raven's home. She is synonymous with the channel again.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Remember, I was much younger when I watched Kim Possible. Right, right. Haven't. Haven't watched it in a while. This movie like Taj comes on, I'm like, oh, what Taj is in this. Oh, obviously I knew you and Christy, but that was kind of it. Like, oh, yeah. I was like, oh, Raven.

[Honey German]

Oh.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

And like every character that comes on, their voices are so unique and so understandable. Like, I literally was just like, wow. This cast is like, it's pretty epic. I mean, they are such recognizable voices. It was very cool as the movie.

[Will Friedle]

Perfect Disney synergy too. Perfect Disney synergy too.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Perfect Disney. Because I'm like, 2005. That was right in the Mecca of Raven's show and the Cheetah Girls. It was just like, wow. Very cool.

Very cool. They love to use their stars.

And finally, another one of cable's biggest stars these days. And another standout from Office Space. Steven Root is the cowboy gambler. He was the weirdo with the red stapler in Office Space, but a whole new generation has fallen in love with him, thanks to Barry. And now the hottest show on tv, Widow's Bay. But to me, he will always be Jimmy James from NewsRadio. The most underrated sitcom of the 90s. Okay, so just because I'm in this one, it doesn't make him possible. The movie. So the drama above the law. And the law is everyone knows it has to be 90 minutes. 90 minutes. That's it. Anything else is just gross. So this movie is 65 minutes. Wow. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.

I know.

[Will Friedle]

We have the new shortest dcom ever. Guys, I don't even know what to say. I can't say I'm happy about the movie being 25 minutes off target, even if it's short, but, man, I did not see that coming. I will tell you this. It was easy to watch. Did it feel short to you? It's basically two episodes of the show.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah. It didn't feel short. And it made me question again. One of my many questions that I have is, is that a normal. Do you think that makes sense for it being a cartoon? Like, is that. Do you think that that makes sense? Like, obviously that was a very specific decision.

[Yo Castro]

Yeah.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Timing, tempo, you know what I mean? Like, the pace of it.

[Will Friedle]

My guess is. Well, I say. I mean, again, it depends on how you want to do it. My guess is Disney does them this length because then it basically perfectly splits up into three 22 minute episodes that then they could put on a DVD and like, you can.

Or.

Or they can release it as single episodes if they want to. I think that's because that's kind of sitchin time was, I think, aired as like four. You could buy it as Four distinct episodes that then became the movie.

Okay.

So I think it's something along those lines. But no, 65 minutes is very. That's short.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

It seems. It seems short.

[Will Friedle]

Yeah. But it's a. You keep in mind it's a lot of animation, especially in 2005. It's a lot of. It's hand drawn.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

So that's what I was saying. I'm like. You know what I mean? Like, I think that when I think of the older and now this isn't age. I'm not trying to age Kim Possible that much. But like when you think of, like when I watch now with Monroe, Cinderella, Snow White, all of those movies are so much shorter compared to like a Moana.

[Niall Horn]

Yeah.

[Will Friedle]

Because it's just so much Moana. You also have, you know, 50, $80 million, however much you're gonna need to make these movies.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

But they were impossible.

[Will Friedle]

So the drama did not have that. Yeah, yeah. And they are. Yeah, it is. It's just. It's a lot of pencil mileage. It's a lot of work.

Work, yeah.

To get an animated shot. So you're. You're not going to find a two and a half hour animated epic.

[Chiquis]

Even.

[Will Friedle]

Even so I was in Howl's Moving Castle. Even movies like that that are closer to 90 minutes, those are like the big Mirazaki, kind of extraordinary films. So. Yeah. But yes, I think for the most part you're going to find most animated movies are shorter.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

And with this being that. Are we on the same kind of time frame as what you did with the episodes? It's about that same turnaround.

[Will Friedle]

Comes back about a year, eight months to a year. Yeah. This should also come as no shock that the writers were the show creators, Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle. Again, cannot say enough amazing things about these guys. They're awesome. The story of how they created the show is legendary. Where they were going to a pitch meeting at Disney, they didn't really know what they were going to pitch. And literally in the elevator on the way up, one of them turned to the other and said, Kim Possible, she can do anything. And the other turned back and said, and her best friends were unstoppable. He can't do anything. And they pitched the show just like that. They literally just made it up in the elevator. And we have Kim Possible.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

You can't do anything.

[Will Friedle]

Brilliant. If anyone is going to bring the characters into the new medium, it would be the guys at the top. They had a very long and prolific animated and family entertainment career. And worth mentioning, they also Wrote the cult favorite kids live action movie. Great movie. Sky high.

So let's finally address the tension and date our best friend. It's time to recap Kim Possible. So the drama. We open on a toy parade. A ninja is banging on a drum as ticker tape falls to the ground all around him. We're at the Nakasumi toy parade, and the city streets are packed with fans and huge balloons. And that's when man of the hour, Mr. Nakasumi starts waving from afloat. But then we see, Ooh, a green plane piloted by Sh Go. She flies overhead. She honestly looks like Kim Possible's evil twin, which is the way we want to. She also has become a huge character in the LGBT community.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Oh, really?

[Will Friedle]

Shego has been huge in that community. It's great. This entire show has.

[Agusto Papa]

So cool.

[Will Friedle]

This entire show has become very big in the queer community.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I love that.

[Will Friedle]

Super proud of that. Shego attacks the parade with smoke and screen missiles and then dispatches a group of ninjas to capture the man himself, Mr. Nakasumi. But then we see her.

[Yo Castro]

Boom.

[Will Friedle]

Kim Possible bursting out of a float and starts kicking everybody to the ground. Now, have to ask, is this arguably one of the most iconic outfits in the history of Disney Channel? Yes, it is, right?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I'm trying to sprangle my Kim Possible vest. Looking tough girl. She is. I mean, I will say thinking about it and now, because you know me, I think of standards practices constantly on my having to wear leggings under any dress or any skirt. All this. And I'm like, and Kim Possible gets a mid dress.

[Will Friedle]

But I think that was a fight. I think they had to. I think even standards and practices had to do this.

[Agusto Papa]

Really?

[Will Friedle]

It was still about. Yeah, it was still even an animal character.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Makes me feel better because, damn it, we had to fight for anything that wasn't like grandma looking on us, I swear. But anyway, so cool. I was so stoked when Christy Carlson Romano herself shows up to Disneyland. I didn't think she was gonna do it. She wasn't really? When I said cosplay and I was like, I'm gonna wear my orange velour outfit. And she was like, I don't know if I'm gonna do that. I'm like, it's cool you do you. I'm still wearing my outfit. And she shows up in her Kim Possible look, looking hot as hell. I was just like, yes, her outfit was iconic. Is iconic. It is such a cool outfit. She looks tough, she looks hot, she looks unstoppable. I just love it.

[Will Friedle]

She's awesome. So yeah, Kim is successfully fighting them off, when of course, we see Ron, who can't get out of his balloon. Finally he does emerge and he's facing down a massive sumo ninja. That's when an incredible fight scene breaks out. This is where we get to see all of the moves that Kim has, even prompting her to say that move won the cheer Regionals. Then of course, Ron likes to do his thing, comes behind the guy and gives him a wedgie. Shego, though, returns in her jet and deploys a claw that grabs Mr. Nakasumi. It grabs him into the air. Kim claps her shoes together and once again has the rocket skates come out, which also became very, very popular around the time. And flies toward Shego's plane. Rod tries to set off his rocket skates, but he realizes he forgot to put them on this morning. So he put on his blaster briefs or rocket underwear, of course, like you have. And he starts flying right past Kim, who's still holding on to Mr. Nakasumi's leg. And that's when Wade pops in. This is when the first time we see the 10 year old genius and we hear our first catchphrase, what's the sitch? Of course, which became iconic as well. It turns out to be her best friend, Monique. And even though she's busy trying to save the world, she realizes she needs some of the tea. So Monique starts to tell her who's going to the prom and who's not. But that's when Kim realizes she's about to crash into a building, so she has to hang on. Ron finally lands from his underwear launch right on the jet. But to shake off the sidekick, Sho turns the plane upside down. Ron free falls right into Kim. Now they are holding on for dear life, but they use Kim's famous grappling hook to catch the side of a Building and Mr. Nakasumi in the process. Sho tries to keep up, but instead crashes into balloons. And then she flies off. And this is where we end with another iconic Catchphrase, the rotten stoppable. Booyah.

Then we get the credits, which are

And then the credits start. And it is very cool the way they do it with a straight up James Bond style theme song and graphics. This is when we cut back to Mr. Nakasumi's private jet and we get another on running gag from the series, which was, keep in mind, as the show is going on, Kim saving the world, but still couldn't drive anywhere, so everyone she saved would then give her a ride home. So it always started with her going like, thanks so much for the ride, whoever. So we see that again. Wade is chatting with Kim, but she's attempting to do homework. They're trying to figure out now who the main villain behind everything is. With Shego, it has to be Dr. Drakken. But they want to know why he's trying to take Mr. Nakasumi. Kim also realizes as she's doing her homework and looks up and sees an entire group of people surrounding Ron doing his homework, that it does not seem fair that he's a cheater, cheater, compulsive eater. Well, I think like Bueno Nacho, I think he's smart in his own way. By the way, he's completely the animated Eric Matthews. I mean, that's exactly what he is. He's animated Eric Matthews. This is where we finally not only start talking to Mr. Nakasumi, but his translator and assistant, Ms. Kyoko. They thank him very much through the translator for saving the world. And that's when we see Ron and Rufus playing with a remote control car. And Kim Possible wants him to stop, of course, but Ms. Kiyoko says that Ron is the perfect customer for Mr. Nakasumi because he's filled with childlike wonder. That's when Nakasumi magically starts to speak English. Perfect English with no accent. He says, do not tell the shareholders it is so easy, they might take my jet away. Kim and Ron are shocked. He says he's fluent, but just enjoys whispering to Ms. Kyoko, which I think is also very funny. Yeah. As the plane passes over Middleton, they say they're about to land, but Kim and Ron say no worries and skydive out of the plane. When Rufus pulls Ron's parachute, his homework goes flying everywhere. Kim says serves him right because he cheated. Anyway, we are now in Kim Possible's house. It is morning and Kim's parents, Dr. Possible and Dr. Ann Possible, are In the kitchen, drinking coffee, getting ready for their day. This is where we learn what Dr. Possible is working on. Something called the Hephaestus project that he almost deletes by accident. And then their sons, Jim and Tim. So I love it's Kim. Jim and Tim are working on some top secret invention, but they haven't seen Kim just yet. And that's when Kim lands in their backyard. She enters, says hello to the rents, but her mom wants to know exactly where she was last night. In response, Kim turns on the TV and you hear the Tokyo toy magnet was rescued by world famous teen hero Kim Possible. Her dad is proud, but Kim says it was no big. And just then, missiles fly into the kitchen, which Kim instinctually knocks down. They are from her brothers Jim and Tim. Why can't they just play video games like normal kids? Dr. Anne says no missiles in the house. But Kim points out, and I love this. This is what happens when a rocket scientist and a brain surgeon reproduce. We're now at Drakken's secret lair. And we know this because there's a sign on the side of the mountain that says secret lair. She goes. Green flame lands and she's made aware that the Brain tap machine is ready for the prisoner. But unfortunately, she goes says, sorry, Dr. D, but there is no prisoner. That's when the ground opens up and she falls through the trapdoor. After the fall, she finds herself surrounded by red and black ninja synthodrones. And Drakken announces, you have failed. I'm not even gonna try to do it, Dr. Drakken. You failed me for the last time. Shego. But Shego being the ultimate bad that she is, she destroys them all. And Dr. Drakken is upset. Why must she break all my beautiful toys? He's having an existential crisis. Their evil operation should be much more successful. And he needs to be reassured that he's evil. Sheiko tells Drakken to get a grip. Nobody does superweapons like him. And that's when they walk to a young girl's room. His latest research project, Teenage Wasteland. This is gonna help him get inside high schooler Kim Possible's head and learn what her fatal flaw is. But when he's reminded he hasn't gotten Kim yet, he gets angry and starts ripping up his black trench coat. And in the melee, a piece of paper falls out. It's one of Mr. Nakasumi's drawings. Drakken picks it up in excitement, but Shigo grabs it from him and starts to use the dating the dated Hip hop slang we know and love so much from dcoms. It's very cool. We're now where Kim possible another place she loves to be. Her cheer practice. Their team is in mid pyramid when Bonnie's phone rings. She runs to answer it, and everybody falls to the ground. Kim is, of course, furious. She thinks Bonnie did it on purpose. It was her boyfriend calling, though, which is something Kim is too busy saving the world. Even have. Ooh, fighting words. That's when she starts to list off all the even remotely acceptable guys taken that are already going to the prom and matched up. And if Kim isn't very careful, she might end up with the captain of the chess team or worse. And that's exactly when Ron runs in yelling Kim's name, asking when they're leaving to go to Bueno Nacho. Then we are at the famous Bueno Nacho Mexican restaurant. Kim sitting in a booth with Monique, worried that Bonnie might have a point. Is she weirding guys out by being a famous superhero? No, I think it's awesome. But Monique says no. You're a strong, independent woman, and anybody worth your time has to know that. Kim asks if there's anything sadder than going to the prom with just a friend, quote unquote. And that's when Monique suggests maybe it's worse to go with his naked mole rat.

So they're talking about poor Ron. That's when we pan over. We see Ron and Rufus arguing with the cashier over a canceled promotion. He offers Ron the 800 number for all his concerns, and Ron says, yeah, yeah, I've got some concerns. Meanwhile, Kim says a date date for the prom would be nice, especially to make Bonnie eat her words. Ron asked Kim for three more bucks since he has to pay for all the Nakos himself. That's when the phone beeps. It's Wade. They found Dr. Dracken. He's been spotted at the Bermuda Triangle.

we're now at the BER Triangle, which is actually an exclusive, highly regarded island resort and nightclub. We got women singing on the piano. Shego and Dren arrive to talk to a criminal named Big Daddy. Bothersome. We had the greatest names on the show. That's when Kim greatest.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Haven't even gotten to my favorite yet.

[Will Friedle]

Oh no, there are some awesome ones. That's when Kim and Ron come out of the water James Bond style. They pull off their scuba gear to see that they're actually in like nightclub attire. Which is cool. Now we're back inside the club. Drakkon's asked for the password to see Big Daddy. He doesn't have it. And Big Daddy's bodyguard throws him back out of the room. That's when she go says, oh yeah, I should give you the password. Neener neener. So weird. Now Ron and Kim are crawling through the vents of the Bermuda Triangle. This is when they find themselves above the Ladies room. Kim uses her magic lipstick with a laser to cut through. Ron wants to follow her, but she reminds him it's the ladies room. So he continues to crawl and then of course hits the button on the lipstick which cuts him out of the vent at the wrong time. And he drops into a room with a bunch of tough guys playing cards. They ask if he is the kid and he says yes, he is. We're now back with Big Daddy Bothersome for their big business deal. Drakken says he has the cash and asks for the information. Then they fight over who's going to hand over what first. Drakken says he doesn't like to play silly games and is once again thrown back out of the room. Which is when Shego says oh yeah, he likes to play silly games. Which is again a very funny runner that they put in here. We're back in the card game. Ron is given 5 million chips for poker and has no idea what he's doing, but goes along with it anyway. They start playing. He's just throwing in chips. And then finally he goes all in, having no idea what's going on. That's when they flip over their cars and he's getting creamed. He tries to leave the room but is reminded he needs to back up his chips with actual cash. And things are looking bad. But that's when Kim and Shego fall through the ceiling right on the poker table. And they start another fight while Ron makes a run for it. That's when the real kid arrives who is a lounge hanger looking guy with a very high pitched voice. And now we're back with Big Daddy Bothersome. Great name. The money and information have finally been traded. Drakkon celebrates with the paper, finally ready to have the top secret code he needs. And it reads. Bread, milk, eggs. Big Daddy bothers him. Laughs. It's his grocery list. Drakkon's fed up. He wants to know where he can find the cybertronic technology he needs. Which is when the name is dropped. Big Daddy tells him only one person's been able to do that. Dr. James Timothy possible. Dun dun dun. I just did the dun dun dun. It's not necessarily what happened, but I, I added the dun dun dun. We're back in the hallways. Ron's running for his life while the girls are still fighting. Kim has the upper hand. That's when Drakken appears on the stairs. It's time to fly. Shego breaks free of Kim's hold and the bad guys fly off on a rope. That's When Kim just says, ah, this is so annoying. We're back at school, Kim's at her locker, when we see Bonnie all up on Brick. Now, do you know who does the voice of Brick? Flag.

That's so. Yeah. So Bonnie's all up on Brick telling how good he's gonna look in his tux. That's when Ron walks up, excited. He's been gathering signatures to get a promotional discount back at Bueno, but unfortunately, the only signature he has so far is his own. Kim's obviously not excited and decides to send home the. The whole thing. You can tell it's really bothering her about the prom. Ron says he knows why she's bummed, though, because he let Dren and she go get away. She says no, she's used to that. And again, she signs the petition, but she walks away. And it's obvious prom's bugging her, but Ron doesn't get it yet. We're now at Kim's house. She asked their dad if they could talk about boys and dating, and he nervously stumbles and calls his wife. He quickly hands his daughter his flip phone, and Kim walks away, breaking down the situation to her mom. Okay, I know.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

First of all, that's where we get our. One of our. Not very many, by the way, that happened in this movie was the dated situation.

[Will Friedle]

Oh, yeah, That's a good one.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

The. Obviously, the beeper is. But, like, the flip phone was one of the first ones. Rather than that, I feel like this movie really holds up.

[Will Friedle]

I don't disagree. Did you talk to your mom about everything in high school? Was she, like, one of your besties?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yes.

[Will Friedle]

So this is totally normal. Like, I'm gonna sit down and talk to you about everything that makes sense to me.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

It was like, again, think about it, too. How often my mom and I were, like, in the car. Cause we were going to auditions and things like that. Or she was taking me to dance. That was one of the hardest parts about me getting my driver's license from my mom was that that was like our time to chat. When she'd really get, like a clue in was when she was either driving me or driving my friends. Like, that's what she told me. I was like, oh, I can't wait to be carpal. She's like, oh, you gotta be carpal. Carpal moms know all the stuff because the girls forget that you're in the car and they're just chatting away and you know everything. I'm like, oh, hell yeah. Okay, carpal mom check. We're doing.

[Will Friedle]

You're gonna get all the tea.

[Agusto Papa]

Yeah.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

But yeah, I told my mom everything. Like, really? We were so, so close when I was young. That's one of the things I'm so excited about with Monroe.

[Will Friedle]

That's really cool.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah. My dad, though. Hell no. Unless I was like talking about my feelings and I needed someone to like, like, coddle me, like give me a hug and stuff. I was not actually talking to my dad about specific psyche of a boy. Like, no, no, no, no. Like, my. My dad wanted nothing to do with that. No, don't talk to me about that. I want to pretend like you don't even call me. Call your mom.

[Will Friedle]

I'm going to call your mom. I'm going to call your mom. That's the better way to do it. Oh, God, that's so funny. Kim is obviously still bummed about the prom. She says every cool guy has taken and she's going to end up with Ron. But her mom doesn't see the problem with that. Ron is a nice guy. Kim explains, he's not a guy. He's Ron. He's her best friend and the person you go with makes a statement. That's when one of her mom's coworker says his son Kevin doesn't have a prom date. And that's when Kim realizes she's on speakerphone again. And a whole bunch of doctors are performing surgery and say hello. And that's when Dr. Guberman tells Kim how Kevin is a super kid and everyone else on the chess team looks up to him.

I loved Guberman. That was my favorite one. I put that down. That was the Sabrina sees I had to get. I also though I was so close

to love then that the patient flatlines. Patient flatlines. And mom's like, oh, I better get off.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

And so a life here.

[Will Friedle]

I know. I'll talk to you later, by the way, it's.

She's a brain surgeon, right? So the guy might. May or might. May not be fine.

[Will Friedle]

He'll be fine.

Kim is now walking to school with Monique, and she comes to terms that Ron's going to be her date. She's totally fine with it. But then they pass childlike wonder Ron chugging away on his beaten up moped as he explains. When it's just me and my machine scorching across the blacktop, I kind of lose myself. Kim says she'll see him at school, and he responds, keep it real, ladies. And I'm sorry, I'm gonna say it. You gotta love Ron stopped.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

You do. Oh, my gosh. He's so adorable. He's the best.

[Will Friedle]

Okay, we're now at school. Ron attempts to pull into the parking lot, but is beaten to the punch by a bad motorcycle. Ron's angry until the guy turns around and apologizes and. And repeats almost exactly what Ron said about losing himself on the blacktop. He introduces himself as Eric. Rufus is hitting this new biker's foot. Eric recognizes him as a naked mole rat, and Ron can't believe that because nobody recognizes him as a naked mole rat. And Eric says he always wanted one. So the two new pals walk into school together, and Ron promises to show him the ropes. Eric asks where he can get his class assignments, and Ron says he's more of a big picture guy, but takes him straight to the cafeteria to get a hot meal. But oh, yeah, Eric ain't interested in the food. He's interested in that girl he sees across the room, Kim Possible.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Oh, yeah.

[Will Friedle]

Ron can't believe Eric's never heard of her. He, you know, frequently helps her save the world. Eric asks if they've ever hooked up, and Ron says, ew, no. We've been best friends since, like, forever. Ron walks up to Kim and Monique, and Eric sits down. I can't not do it in the voice.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I'm sorry. I know. I love it. This is like what I was so excited about.

[Will Friedle]

I can't not do it.

[Chiquis]

It.

[Will Friedle]

So they sit down. Eric asks how she's doing, and Monique is obviously very excited for her. And I'm just gonna say this. Animated or not. Cute boy.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah, Total, right? Yeah.

[Will Friedle]

Like boy band, cute boy. We see where this is going.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah.

[Will Friedle]

Unbelievable. This is when we then get a montage with a beautiful sappy love song. Kim and Eric hanging out with a very sad Ron, third wheeling with them at the park at Bueno Nacho, in the school hallway and even riding Bikes together. We're back at Kim's house. Her brothers are on a megaphone announcing that they detect cooties in the area. Repeat cooties in the area. Kim's got a boyfriend. And then we see that Eric is over for dinner. Ron's nearby, clearly upset. So is Rufus. Kim's mom offers him pizza, and the new lovebirds both say pepperoni at the same time, creating one of those jinx, you owe me a Coke kind of moments. Ron says, get in line. She's owed me a soda from, like, way before I ever met you. We're now in Dr. Possible's lab. Kim's dad is working on the computer when Ann calls him. It's pizza night. He says he'll try not to be late. Then looks back through his microscope and sees some cybertronic replication. He announces the project is a go, then turns around to see the sumo ninja and Drakken ready to steal the goods. We're back at the kitchen table. Ron is still angrily staring at Kim and Eric, now pulling pepperoni off each other's pizzas, finishing each other's sentences. Ron gets up in a panic to leave and Dr. Possible says he should stay. Kim and Eric say goodbye to Ron at the same time, playfully jinxing each other again. Ron grabs a megaphone and yells, cootie alert. And leaves. So we are now over in Dr. Possible's lab again. He's still in the lab chair now with Drakken trying to intimidate him. Dr. Possible says, My daughter isn't afraid of you, so why should I be? Then he calls him Drew, which is apparently his first name. It is his first name. We showed it in another episode. The Sumo ninja cracks his knuckles and doctor Possible returns to his computer and presses a few buttons and then deletes the Hephaestus file that we saw at the beginning. Drakkon is fear is no. And then he says that's okay because he's got a brain tap machine that he's been dying to use.

[Will Friedle]

We're now back at Bueno Nacho. Oh, poor. Ron is alone, sitting in a booth, arms folded. Rufus brings him his beeper, but Ron doesn't want to have anything to do with it. His friend Ned, Ned, who works there, walks over and collapses in the booth. And I think Ned is Eddie Deason, who's a famous 80s actor. He's the guy who always talk like this. I'm Eddie Deezen. And so he played Ned.

[Yo Castro]

He was great.

[Will Friedle]

And he says he no longer is the assistant manager. Lars is in charge and changes.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yep.

[Will Friedle]

Ron's beeper goes off. It's Kim with a 91 1. You remember getting 911 beeps?

[Agusto Papa]

Yes.

[Will Friedle]

And it was like, what's going on? Yeah.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Oh, man. Oh, man. Yes.

[Will Friedle]

Isn't that crazy?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

And then you had to find a phone?

[Freddie Prinze Jr.]

Yeah.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I was at a party I wasn't supposed to be at. And it came in a 911 from my mom. And I was like,

everybody call from here.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I gave. I, like, with, like, all these older people. And I'm like, hey, everyone, just mind. Can we just.

[Will Friedle]

You shushed an entire party to talk to your mom?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Oh, yeah. It was a room. It was like, oh, oh, I shouldn't have been there.

[Will Friedle]

What was the 911? Can I ask? Was she just trying to find you?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Where the f are you? I know exactly where you're at. Or you're not.

[Yo Castro]

Not.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I know exactly where you are. I know you're not where you told me you were.

Oh, wow.

And I had to tell her, I'm at a hotel party. She said. And I said, I'm off the freeway at a red roof. And she was like, are you.

Oh, my God. Did you get in trouble? Did you get in trouble?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

And my friends that we went through, all of us got picked up my mom's minivan. We were with my older boyfriend and his friends. It was so embarrassing.

[Will Friedle]

Oh, man. What the hell were you doing in a red room?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Not.

[Will Friedle]

I mean, not what you would think we were doing. I mean, but it was not good. It was not good with a bunch of crackheads rocking.

Now alone, Kim avoids the death rays again and again she's fighting the synthodrones and she's doing pretty darn well. She's using the laser against them so every time she flips over one it gets blown into pieces and leaks out all its synthro drone juice or whatever. I don't ever want to say syntho drone juice again, but I know I'm gonna because it's gonna keep happening. That's when Ron is grabbed by one of the giant octopus tentacles and is slammed to the ground repeatedly. Ow ow ow. And then. Which was fun to do, but then Rufus comes over and bites the octopus's arm which releases Ron. But then Kim's dad get pulled gets pulled underwater by the octopus. Kim fights off the last ninja man then dives into the tank and beats up the octopus. In the end she saves her dad by pulling him out and he says he doesn't remember anything that happened except that he wants bacon on his pizza. We're now at the store that Christy Carlson helped name which is a combination of of Banana Republic and Club Monaco called Club Banana. While trying on clothes, Monique can't believe Kim saved her dad's life. Now Kim can never be grounded. But Kim doesn't know why Drakken kidnapped her dad. That's when Eric appears and about to ask Kim to the prom but Bonnie interrupts. Monique tells Bonnie that Brick is flirting with the girl, runs off to find him setting off a security alarm. A concerned Ron then jumps out of the dressing room pantless asking what's the sitch? He's always losing his pants. We are back now in the secret lair. Shego is searching through Drakken's computer trying to find out what he's up to. He has a toy design, top secret Cybertron synthodrone upgrades and teen zine junk. Is he planning on throwing the world's weirdest pajama party? Then Drakken sneaks up behind her. He can't believe she hasn't figured out his plan yet. And he won't tell her because if she can't figure it out, neither can Kim.

And that means Drakken might win. He leaves her a board of directors meeting at a company he just acquired in a hostile takeover. That's when we cut to Tokyo. We once again see Mr. Nakasumi is walking in the streets and is shocked to see a toy design advertisement is available on a large electronic billboard. He is furious because that is his character. How is this happening? Now we get a quick montage of kids at going into different Bueno Nachos from around the world, from Africa to Alaska. They're running in and grabbing the new mini Diablo toy, which is part of Bueno Nacho's new Kids meal, a sign of the franchise's sweeping changes. We're back at our local Bueno Nacho in Middleton and a bunch of whiny kids are screaming for the toy. And Ron watches a news reporter explain it's the newest worldwide craze. Ron then grabs the microphone and starts to freak out because he's losing everything he ever cared about. We're back in Kim's house. Her brothers Jim and Tin ask if they can go to Bueno Nacho. And Kim is watching Ron breakdown on tv. She knows she should talk to him and Wade tells her he's in the old treehouse. So we cut to the old treehouse. Ron slumped over the couch, very sad. He hears someone coming, so he warns, I have a lethal weapon. It's Kim. They reminisce about old times and she notices a new no Girls Allowed sign with fresh paint. But Ron pretends like it's been there forever. Forever. Kim sees an old picture of them together and reminds them how much fun they had as kids. She even stumbles on an old hat from when he was at Camp Wanna Weep, which was a big storyline. Which Camp Wanna Week was His. His enemy at Camp Wanna Week was a kid named Gill who was then sucked into the pond, the radioactive pond, and becomes like a Gill Gilly monster kind of thing. Oh, he was.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I don't remember that at all.

[Will Friedle]

Yeah, it was in cabin 13 at Camp Wano.

[Chiquis]

The worst.

The worst summer of my life.

She knows that something is definitely bothering Ron and brings up Eric. But he quickly combats it by saying he doesn't have a problem with him. I mean, who would have a problem with Eric? And he starts hyperventilating and Kim says that Eric can't change what they're all about. They'll always be Tight. But it's time to grow up. Ron says maybe he doesn't want to grow up. Just as Eric calls out for Kim for Down below came to the treehouse.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Not cool.

[Will Friedle]

Ron says he can't come up. It's so funny. He can't come up.

[Yo Castro]

Oh, Ron.

[Will Friedle]

No, I mean, he can't come up. There's a weight limit, which I thought was very, very funny. He's like, we're exceeding it by me just holding this slim shot. This slingshot.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

The slingshot, yeah.

[Will Friedle]

So Kim leaves with Eric, now alone. Ron tells Rufus he's not jealous, while he clearly is. It's so sad.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Poor Ron. What a jerk.

[Will Friedle]

Poor Ron. Out in the neighborhood. Yeah. While walking, Eric asks Kim if she thinks Ron is okay with them, and she thinks he is. Eric then asks about her missions. He thinks they're pretty cool. And he has only one mission. To take her to the prom. Kim shyly accepts the invitation.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

No promposal.

[Will Friedle]

No question. I don't think it was a thing back then.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yes, it was.

[Will Friedle]

Oh, yeah, there's a. In 2005, the promposal was a thing.

[Yo Castro]

Yes.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I had prom. A promposal.

[Will Friedle]

God, again, I didn't go to prom, so I wouldn't know. I'm throwing my fish in a couple months.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

It was Hershey kisses going up into my room that had, like, a teddy bear in there. And then they went into my. My bathroom, and it said, I kiss the ground you walk on and shower you with roses. Will you please go to prom with me?

[Will Friedle]

What? Was the guy in your room?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

No, no, but it went up and like, my.

[Will Friedle]

Oh, that's very sick.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

All that stuff. Yeah. He goes downstairs.

[Will Friedle]

By the way, are you going to make Jordan give you a promosal to see if. To come to my prom?

[Agusto Papa]

Ooh.

[Will Friedle]

I mean, has he asked you?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I have just. I haven't told him the theme yet. Actually, I don't think I told him the theme.

[Will Friedle]

He better hurry up, because somebody else could ask you.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I'm just saying you can need some kind of a prom.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I asked Susan sue to your prom.

[Will Friedle]

Of course I did. Of course I did.

How did you do it? You did it, probably. Promposal.

[Will Friedle]

No, I said, hey, hey, sue, you want to go to the prom with me? And she said, yes. We're from a different time.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

We didn't have promposals.

[Will Friedle]

But no, now they just do, like, a poster and just like, here's a coffee. Oh, I get so mad at Them.

[Will Friedle]

No, this is. But I should hope Jordan's gonna ask you.

[Wilmer Valderrama]

I mean.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah, you're right. I gotta make sure he did really over the top because his sister helped him. His sister was much older and she helped him do. Oh, my God. He had one that was like a yellow brick road. And it was a whole wizard of Oz thing.

[Diego]

Like.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah, he did like a. He was really.

[Will Friedle]

See, now I'm glad I was too much of a loser to go to my prom. I couldn't handle all that stuff.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I couldn't handle it.

[Will Friedle]

I couldn't. I couldn't handle all that stuff.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

We had one time a guy did like some kind of like one of the sky riding, skywriting ones. And then another guy had a cop who. It was like his friend's dad

[Diego]

[Sabrina Carpenter]

and it was on her ticket. And I was like, I would die. I instantly start crying when I get pulled over by cops. I just get so scared. I would be so upset. Like, you pulled me over. Yeah.

[Will Friedle]

Yeah. He plants a kilo of cocaine on you, but the kilo says, will you go to prom with me? It's very sweet. Love that. Very sweet.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Oh, gosh. That just took a bad turn. It did.

[Will Friedle]

We are now in Ron's bedroom. Ron's getting dressed for the prom and complaining to Rufus about how something is different with Kim now. Now he knows there's something between them. It's been there a long time. He wonders if she sees it.

[Niall Horn]

So sweet.

[Will Friedle]

He announces that he's got to do something no man should ever do. Talk about his feelings. What if she really likes this Eric guy? He'd crash out and what would it do to their friendship? Even Rufus is nervous. At Kim's, Eric has arrived to pick her up and her dad has some guidelines. But Eric beats him to the punch. He'll have her home by 10. And now James is fully impressed. That's when Kim appears at the top of the stairs, looking banging. And as dramatic music plays, she walks down to meet Eric. Then her brothers ruin the moment by flying down on missiles and soaring right through the front door. But despite the disruption, we see that Eric has effortlessly, which is not effortless to say, flipped over and avoided the two rockets. They take a couple of pictures together. Kim's mom looks longingly at a picture of Ron because the mom always knows. Yeah, Eric says his dad would be there to take pictures too, but he's working on a big project. Project. We're now at the prom. Monique, Kim and Eric are all cut in a rug, surrounded by a crowd. Some Great dancing going on. Brick and Bonnie are sitting in a nearby table, and Brick admits the new guy has the funk. That's Ryder. New guy's got the funk. Bonnie then tells him to shut up. Meanwhile, poor Ron. He's a bueno nacho by himself with Rufus ordering food. Ned's trying to tell him something is wrong, but Ron is just too depressed to pay any attention. Rufus wants to eat the food there, so when he's eating the nachos, he notices that Ned wants wrote evil on the tray of Diablo sauce. That's when Ron realizes something and grabs a straw and his eyes starts to twitch and he goes over. This is the last straw. So it's not about the evil. It's literally that they took away the bendy straws. And he is furious. Ron runs outside to the payphone and calls Wade, asking to patch him through to the bueno nachos CEO. He's got a bone to pick with that guy. And when the CEO answers, it's Dr. Dracken. The new manager runs outside and hangs up the phone. He says Dr. Dracken is a busy man. Then just then, Ned and Rufus run out of the restaurant screaming. The tiny devil toys are alive. And chasing after them, the store manager yells Diablo's attack. That sounded exactly like who it was. Do you know who that was?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

No.

[Will Friedle]

That was Dietrich Bader. It's a phenomenal good friend. One of the. I mean, you'd know him from, but did you ever see Napoleon Dynamite?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yes.

[Will Friedle]

Did you Carey show Napoleon Dynamite? He's the guy who teaches karate with the.

[Freddie Prinze Jr.]

With the.

[Will Friedle]

With the red, white and blue pants. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dietrich's been in everything. He. He's hysterical and one of the nicest human beings you'll ever meet in your life. So the store manager yells Diablo's attack. And Ron is just able to escape on his moped. We're at the prom. Kim hears her phone ringing. Monique suggests that maybe Kim should let it go to voicemail, but Kim worries it's important. Eric says he thinks Wade will understand, so Kim agrees. She ignores it and goes back to dancing. By the way, 90% of the time her phone rings.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

The world is in danger ending situation.

[Will Friedle]

So the fact that you are.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

You are Kim Possible, you are not allowed to screen your phone calls. Girl, give me a break.

[Will Friedle]

That's just. I know you're at your prom, but come on.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Well, listen, even. Even the world saver herself, Kim Possible, gets distracted by a stupid boy.

[Will Friedle]

Stupid boy.

[Jason]

See?

Ah,

[Will Friedle]

Ron. Finally, his broken moped chugs along still tailed by hundreds of toys. But he gets to the prom, runs inside and screams. The Diablo toys are evil. And the record scratches. Everyone turns to look at him and he turns to point the evil toys out. But they're all hiding, which makes them look crazy. Rom knows that people think that he's making it up. But it doesn't matter what they think because his best friend Kim will believe him. He tells her that Drakken is behind the whole thing. And though she's skeptical at first, Kim knows she has to jump into action. Eric tries to stop her, but Ron tells the pretty boy to back up. Kim calls Wade and he confirms everything about Drakken's evil toys. Kim tells Eric she'll be back. It's a save the world thing. We're back at the Possible house. Kim's dad can't believe what Kim is telling him. It's the cybertronic technology from his Hephaestus project. Drakken used his invention to build these things. At Drakken's office, Drakken is impatient, asks Shego for a status report. She says they're going to strike at midnight, but there's a snag. And that's when Dragon goes, ah, it's Kim Possible. And he says he'll take care of it. But he tells Sho to run out and get something for him. And we see it's a picture of Eric Rick, Kim Possible's date. We're back at Kim's house. Kim's dad tells his wife all about Drakken and the stolen technology. While Jim and Tim play with the little Diablos. Every kid on the planet wants one and it's made of living metal. Kim's dad explains that the cybertronic circuitry can repair itself and even grow bigger over time. But he says not to worry because the robots can't do anything without a command signal. And just then, they hear a command signal radiate throughout the city. Kim and her dad pull her brothers away from the toys just as they grow so big they burst through the and roof.

Roof.

[Will Friedle]

Kim distracts the Diablos and her family runs away. They all head for the garage as one of the robots burns off the bottom of Kim's prom dress. She dodges the attacks and saves Ron as her house is destroyed. In the garage, though, Kim's mom knows they need to help. And they ask their sons for their rockets to attach to Ron's moped. And they fill it with rocket fuel. Kim and Ron hide behind a bush and call Wade, who's also being Attacked by robots. Wade suggests taking out the command signal since that'll shut down the robots. But Wade can't trace where it's coming from. Ron thinks it's coming from the source of all evil, Bueno Nacho. Then the robot burns through the bush they've been hiding behind. But luckily her family pops from the garage and tells them to think fast. Her dad throws them their helmets and they jump on Ron's now Fast and Furious Ready Moped scooter. And thanks to the rockets, they speed off faster than ever. But they're followed closely by a giant Diablo robot. Rufus kicks them into mach speed and they land on the roof of Bueno Nacho. The robot itself can't slow down, so it knocks over the command signal and the toy shrinks down to its little tiny size. Wade calls and says all the Diablos are back to being tiny. Drakken cuts into Kim's phone, congratulating her on discovering his scheme in record time. But he promises this time she will surrender. As if Drakken reveals that shego stopped by her school dance and met the nicest boy. And that's when we see that they're holding Eric hostage. If Kim cares about his safety, surrender is her only option. And that's when we're at Kim's house, which I didn't get because didn't we see most of it be destroyed?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah.

[Will Friedle]

So anyway, we're gonna pretend that didn't happen because it's still perfect. She goes to the back of her closet and opens a secret compartment. And that's when we find Kim Possible's battle suit, which we've never seen before. And I know this is a big deal. Changing clothes on a live action. Keep in mind, change your clothes on something. Live action, simple. You go and you change your clothes. Changing clothes. There's a reason animated characters always wear the same outfits and everything. Because they can't keep animating them constantly wearing different clothes.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah.

[Will Friedle]

So yeah, you reuse stuff as much as you can. That's why it's never like kicks and

[Sabrina Carpenter]

the punches and the solo stuff. Yeah.

[Will Friedle]

They were literally. I remember they talking about, with, with Mark and Bob, they would say things like, oh, if we wanted to change her shirt, it would be a four month process of, of, of getting Disney to allow us to change a shirt. Like it was. It was. So you have to go through committees. You had to talk to the animators. It was such a big deal to have to change. You know, when I started writing animation, I assumed if I could write it, they could do it. Because that's just the way it is. You can. It's animation. I'm gonna write this. You're gonna make it.

[Chiquis]

Yeah.

[Will Friedle]

And the first executive producer I worked with for thundercats sat me down. He's like, we reuse backgrounds. It's like, there's a reason we want to tell you. Put three scenes in this thing. Make sure they're in the thunder tank here. He's like, because we can then use animation that we already have or a back have. It gets real expensive if you want us to reanimate everything all the time. So I was like, oh, interesting.

[Niall Horn]

It just.

[Will Friedle]

I was like, what. What's animation? If I can imagine it, you draw it. It's like, yeah. Not how it works.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

I mean, I think that made me think. That's one of the things that I thought of with when you guys go to the prom and she's in a dress and she's never not in her like impossible outfit.

[Will Friedle]

Right.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Or even when she is doing like the cheerleading stuff, you know, and like how the cheerleaders would. Those characters would always be in there, but she wasn't wearing like they were all wear. Like I'm like, how come the cheer. That was one of my experiences. How come the cheerleaders are wearing their cheer outfit at school but she's not when she's on the team? Like, that was.

[Will Friedle]

They're reusing it and there's, you know, she had two or three different outfits for the entire series.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Yeah.

[Will Friedle]

She had the. The famous black and green and then she had her cheerleader outfit and then they throw in one or two other things. But that was it for like 80 something episodes. She was in three things. So that's why you get a movie with a bigger budget. Okay. Now she's in a prom dress. Now she's in. But all the little things. Hey, they want to change somebody's shoes in an animated series. It costs money and time. It's just such a different world.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Do you remember if this outfit ever came back since you guys went out to do season four?

[Will Friedle]

I don't. I don't. I am. I'm. I'm guessing it did, but I have no idea. The one thing I do know about season four is it's when Ron gets his special, special powers. Ron. Ron ends up with. Oh, he becomes a. An un. Unmatched master of monkey kung fu and actually becomes like one of the strongest fighters. Yeah. Ever. So Ron gets his flowers too, which is.

[Yo Castro]

Ah.

[Will Friedle]

So yes. She's putting on her battle suit Wade tells her it's still experimental, but with that she doesn't care. She's off to Bueno Nacho on the rocket moped with Ron. That's when Drakken and Chigo see that Kim is on her way and they get ready for her arrival. They eventually get there and climb to the top of the building. Wade tells her to check her backpack. And that's when they found knockout gas which is in a lip balm container and an electromagnetic scrambler that's going to shut down Drakken's entire system. Kim tells Ron keep his head in the game. Well before High School Musical was a thing and I thought the same thing. I'm like, oh, get your head in the game. Well, no, if this is 2005, it

[Sabrina Carpenter]

might have been right around the same time.

[Will Friedle]

Yeah, yeah, right around the same time. And then the giant sumo ninja arrives again and then screams at them in the most comical high pitched voice. Kim and Ron laugh at the tiny little voice. So the ninja slams Ron against the wall. Kim throws a knockout lip onto Rufus who puts it under the nose of the giant ninja, forcing him to pass out. In the aftermath though, Shego arrives and attacks Kim. And we have another big fight scene. Kim uses her experimental battle suit to battle Shego and it's impressive. All right, let me give. All right, we're doing this right now. Give me your. Okay, so this is how we do it. All right, Sabrina, this is where you get a medium punch to the stomach. Okay. No punch to the stomach. You want the air to leave.

[Niall Horn]

Ugh.

You know, you're falling out of a plane. It's a long fall. So I'll be doing stuff like, how long is this fall? Like, you can talk as you're doing stuff like that. You know, one of. One of my cues as Deadpool was just grunt of effort. And instead I went, grunt of effort. And they kept it in. So it's like, that kind of stuff is just as I'm throwing grenades. Grunt of effort, effort. And so it was, you know, stuff like. That was super fun.

Another big fight. But this is where we see how cool Kim's experimental battle suit is. It's greens and blues flashing back at each other. Ron cheers around for the sidelines. That's when the sumo ninja reappears. And while celebrating, Ron accidentally punches the ninja in the stomach in the face, knocking him to the ground. Ron is obviously very impressed and notes the Ron dog came to play. And at the same time, Kim and Shego are still going at it. Shego tells Kim that Eric is cute and maybe she'll end up dating him when. When Kim's gone. This, of course, makes Kim angrier. She punches Shego, launching her to the other side of the room. Even Kim's surprised by her power, but gets another surprise when Eric arrives. He says he didn't know she cared that much. Happy to see he was okay. She runs to hug him, but he says he has something he wants to tell her. Here he's actually known as Synthodrone901. And with that, he electrocutes Kim and she passes out. Ron tries to save her, but Shego slams him to the ground. We come up, and now Kim and Ron are tied up together. Ron asks if this is heaven.

Is this heaven?

And Kim can't believe she didn't realize Eric was a fake cake. Ron can't believe she kissed a synthro drone, but she admits she never kissed him. But she wanted to. Kim doesn't have a plan. Drakk and May have finally won. Ron tells her that she sounds like a quitter, but it's payback time. He lets her know that there are guys out there that are better for her. Guys that are real, you know, guys like maybe that are in here. He says, you know, it's when Kim goes, oh, oh. And that's when Kim sees the naked mole rat. God, it's a weird transition. Ron's naked mole rat is very excited to help them.

[Agusto Papa]

It's true.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Ron's naked rollback is very excited.

[Will Friedle]

Okay, he is. He's very excited to help them. So he goes and grabs the lipstick laser from the bag and cuts them free from the ropes. But now it's time to find Dr. Drakken. We are once again outside of Bueno Nacho headquarters. A huge satellite tower rises from the ground and releases a command. We see the Devil Toys giant again, flying around the world, planning an attack. Inside the command center, watching the preparation, Drakkon announces he discovered Kim Possible's weakness.

[Honey German]

Boys.

[Will Friedle]

Boys, boys. Then Kim arrives. Just in time. She admits he's right. Boys and dating are hard, but this is easy. And with that, she punches Drakken, knocking him to the ground. He commands Shego to attack Kim. And we get yet another Kim and Shego fight. Meanwhile, Ron threatens Syntho.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

Eric, it's about to be a girl fight.

[Will Friedle]

Yes, and they're great. Have you ever been in a fist fight?

[Sabrina Carpenter]

No. Okay.

[Honey German]

No.

[Sabrina Carpenter]

No.

[Will Friedle]

Kim runs to the roof of the head. I'm not going to ask. And sees hundreds of Nakasumi's giant devil tours flying through the storm. She reaches for the electromagnetic scrambler, but Shego knocks it out of her hand and it goes flying. Ron tries to catch it, but Eric beats him to it. Gloating Cyntho. Eric says a naked mole rat isn't cool, it's gross. Them are fighting words. Ron tells him not to diss Rufus, then flips Eric to the ground, sending the electromagnetic scrambler back into the air. Rufus saves it just before it flies over the edge. So now, with Ron pinned to the ground by Eric, Rufus slides in the scrambler and throws it to Kim. She goes, now hanging on for dear life, about to fall off the roof, when Kim catches the scrambler and shoots it at the command tower. But just before it strikes, Eric stops it. Drakkon is relieved. His robot saved the day. But Rufus holds a grudge. And the mole rat bites Eric's leg once again, causing the Syntho goo to leave leak fluid everywhere. And the electromagnetic. If I have to say electromagnetic one more time.

It's so hard.

[Will Friedle]

And the electromagnetic scrambler lands back on the tower. It blows up and stops the giant toys from causing mass destruction. All the tiny devils fall from the sky. And Drakkon admits that maybe Kim is all that. Drakken tries to escape, but Ron trips him, ready to make him pay for ruining Bueno Nacho. Ron tells him to say his name, and after some thought, Drakkon says it's Ron Stoppable. And as a result, Ron says, booyah. We're now nearby on the roof. Kim catches Shego also trying to sneaks off and kicks her. She goes flying into the satellite tower and is electrocuted. The tower collapses on top of her and I was like, oh man, she's dead. But she's not because we're quickly in the van. The police van. Drack and Shingo and the synthodromes have all been arrested. Ron slams the door, shuts it, and the car drives away. Now alone, Kim tells Ron they better hurt.

[Agusto Papa]

Hurry.

[Will Friedle]

He doesn't get where they're going. Hurry for what? Kim grabs his hand. You'll see. They arrive at prom. Everyone's at the dance. They're huddled around a mini tv. The reporter announces. And so, thanks to Gene hero, Kim Possible, the worldwide Diablo destruction is disabled. Meanwhile, Brick ignores Bonnie to hang out with Monique, which is a cool new crush. And then Ron and Kim walk in holding hands. Bonnie yells, oh my God. Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable are dating. And she starts laughing out loud. But nobody joins in. Instead, they all start cheering for the new couple. Music starts to play again, and Rufus pushes them closer together for the slow dance. And then, under the disco ball, Kim and Ron embrace and finally kiss. And that's our movie.

And so I was thinking like, oh, this is really fun watching Kim Possible, a show that I loved growing up, and then now as like a. A grown up thinking, when that hair dryer and the guy goes, we gotta get that hair dryer away from her. I was like, it's the same thing. I thought, like, she uses it all the time. How is someone not stolen that from her?

As soon as Monique Hat said one word, I said, oh, that's Raven. I recognized it. Same thing with Wade. I was like, that's Taj. I already went over that. It was really cool to see such noticeable, like, easy to target voices in this movie. You guys had an incredible cast.

Then we fast forward to when we're. You guys were in the, like, scuba gear and then you, like, change in front of each other. Like. Well, I guess it was. They had. It was. Am I supposed to believe that those outfits were under the scuba gear? Is that what you are?

But you. Then they cut to it in such a way where it looks like they're

changing, like they're getting naked. Her, like the. The cut of her, like her legs that are bare. Right. And then you see her outfit. Did you.

Did you ever, ever have a best male friend? Like an inseparable male friend?

Yeah, I had a couple of them, like, while I was like, growing up, dancing and stuff. But I would have never changed in front of them.

Yeah. No, it's still like you go to the bathroom, you guys go away from each other. You're not taking baths together or doing things like that. Like. No. Still weird. But that was interesting. I have to say it again because it was so good. Dr. Guberman in the surgery room was awesome. And you are right. This show had some great names throughout your seasons, for sure.

Oh, God. Some of the villains, by the way, some of the villains were Senor Senior Senior and Senor Senior Junior. So good. Duff Killigan is one of the Scottish Golfers, Duff, Keligan. So, like, all the villains had the just the best names. They were so great. The names they came up with one after another were just awesome.

So good. As soon as we get the our poor Ron being sad montage.

But this is the, the like era of Jesse McCartney. 2005. This is his era. Especially on the channel we got. It was either him. For me, it was either him or our friend of the pod. It was like, which one of these. Which one is that? So that's why I wasn't sure. I double checked. Mikayla did confirm it was just Jesse McCartney that was in that montage.

It's hard to ask you if we were just watching this and you weren't in the movie. As soon as Eric mentions his dad is the first time, I went, oh, the villain is his dad. I went, oh, that was the first time. And it's like way at the end of the movie, I'm like, oh, my gosh, they hit it. Well, they did. I thought they did. It wasn't an obvious to me that this character was going to be a character that turns on her. They figured if anything, he was going to like dump her before the prom or something like that. Not become part of the evil team, which was good. It was pretty funny. There was one little scene at the very end when those big giant alien toy things, the robots, bots, it was like about to kill this mom and little kid. And then it shrinks down and the kid runs and grabs it like it's like the best toy ever.

It is the best toy ever. It gets so big. I could take over the world with that.

Well, that took a big change real fast. And then I have another question. Did you like this? The ending? Like as you being.

I personally did. Some people didn't.

Okay. I was wondering. Because that's a very different thing. Way to go about it.

I always love the idea that there's no leagues. Everyone's always like, she's out of my league, he's out of my league. And I like the idea that it's got nothing to do with that. It's just got to do if you're right for each other. So the idea that Ron gets the most popular, most amazing girl in school after being this loser for so long, I love, love that.

I wasn't. I don't feel like this movie. If you just saw this movie separate from the series, I don't feel like the movie really amped that aspect of her life up.

Do it. This was actually a very good movie. It really was. It was. It was fast, it was colorful, the music was great. I love the characters. It was. This was a good movie. It really was. I think I can be honest by saying I thought. I thought it could have. You could have added a little bit to it. It was a little bit short and truncated. That being said, I think I can live with myself by saying I would give myself this movie a solid 8.5. Yeah, I think that's fair. I think 8.5 booyahs is fair for this movie. I could even go a software 9 booyahs for this movie. But again, I keep the tens. When you've got. When you're looking at things like Color of Friendship and Miracle in lane two,

those are two different. I know, I know, but it's genre. You almost can't compare these to that.

[Will Friedle]

I think 8.5 to 9 is. Is booyahs is a fair assessment for this movie.

All right, I gotta disagree with you. To me, this was such an iconic show. And when you think about now, I'm putting myself in the as a viewer knowing, like at the time this was gonna be the end of the Kim Possible world. Right where our story finishes out. I think they gave what I would assume the audience everything they wanted like they did with High School Musical. So I'm giving this a 10. I'm giving it a 10 booyah. Because I think if you were a fan of this show, that's true. Again, for me as an adult, I liked them as friends. But I know for a fact when I was younger watching this movie, the two of them getting together would have been my whole world. I would have loved it. And then to come back and see them as a couple fighting the world together for season four. Give me a break. You're knocking it out of the park. So 10 booyahs. Impossible. So the drama, that's awesome.
