There was always something that just made me say no. And yet I Knew I wanted to do it. I knew I wanted that type of challenge. I think the show is so beautifully done. My grandparents were huge fans. It's one of those projects that, like, people in your family will say, like, hey, why don't you do Dancing with the Stars, right?

Not to me.

People I get. I get, why aren't you doing that hot dog eating contest, stuff like that?

I mean, you're also going to be physically working the whole time, right? I mean, like, exercise, dance all day.

Ryder and I are already taking bets on the first snapping watching episode where it's just like, did Danielle stab you last night? Yeah, with a pen. I asked her a name. I can't believe you're pulling this off.

The good news of it is that I'm not actually going to be able to do much of anything else, so I'm not going to be able to direct. I'm not going to be able to. Yeah, I'm going to be so focused on this that in some ways, I kind of think it'll possibly feel like a break. I don't know. I doubt it. Are you kidding me?

It's going to be a whole new life adventure.

So all. You know. Because you're not the type of person that likes to sit around and relax anyway. No, and neither am I. Like, I go on vacation and I'm more stressed out than ever. When I'm, like, in life and I'm got a new project and I'm focused on something, I actually feel more relaxed than literally, I'm with you, actually.

Yeah. I have. I have a question, Danielle, and it's an honest question.

I don't. But you dance for fun.

I enjoy dancing. There's never been a wedding where I haven't been on the dance floor. I'm comfortable dancing, but I have never taken a dance class.

So you're not Elaine for the show, though? I don't.

No, I don't think so.

I've never seen the show. So does this mean that you might get eliminated if you're not, like, good enough? Are we gonna be a competition?

Yeah.

First of all, this is its 34th season, so it has in 34 seasons. It's had quite an evolution. Will's very good friend, Sabrina Bryan, other co host of Magical Rewind, is a professional dancer. And when she joined, you know, she's been dancing since she was a kid. She incredible. Had the highest rated score on her season. The highest rated score up to that point. Five seasons in, no one had been rated higher than her on, like, one of their early dances. And yet she was eliminated in week six. And I'm gonna talk to her. I get to interview her about her experience. And she's gonna be one of the guests on Danielle with the Stars. And I get to talk to her about, like, why we think that is. But, you know, even if I am great, it doesn't mean people are gonna like me enough to vote for me or.

[Ryder Strong]

Okay, so it's audience voting.

Audience voting. It's not like judges and judges. It's a. And then the math. Exactly. You don't really know exactly how that math works.

But it's not just a popularity contest. Like, they love you as Topanga, so they. You're just gonna keep getting through even if you're falling all over yourself.

If. Exactly. If. If for whatever reason people decided she's a terrible dancer but we really like her, they could keep me around or I could be, you know, a really good dancer, and they could be like, we think she's annoying. Get her the heck out of there. So. So it's really just for the good. The good thing is for me is that the pressure's off to figure it out. There's no. I'm not gonna be able to figure it out. The only thing I'm good at doing is being myself, and that's all I'm gonna be able to do. I'm gonna. I'm also gonna try to have more fun. You know, my new word that I keep trying to.

You're still stumbling over it as you try to say it.

I'm trying to have a little bit more.

So I'm gonna try to not beat myself up too much. You should. That's good.

Cause you're gonna be physically beating yourself up, so probably mentally beating yourself up too isn't a good thing because your body's probably gonna be pretty haggard, especially at the beginning.

You're gonna be training hours a day.

I don't think haggard is a good word.

It's gonna be. It's the exercise. The amount of exerc dancers do especially for this kind of training is going to be pretty staggering.

Being famous in front of the camera. Being judged for how you look and talk and interviewed and dance.

And then you gotta dance all my worst things.

But with that said, it's so great for you.

This time Season six. And you know what that means. That's right, incessant social media comments asking when we're starting season seven, but also the annual episode draft. Will, Ryder and I have recapped, we've analyzed and we've romped our way through the last 22 episodes. And now it's time to pick our favorites. We will each select titles following a randomized draft order, then snake through the three of us back and forth, forth and back, each picking an episode, then taking it off the board. Now, Will was winless, but has turned it around lately with I think two wins in a row in draft two, baby. But season six really is its own beast here. Listen, I'm take. I'm taking it. It's mine. It's off the board. Season six, episode 15, road trip. To get his mind off of his dad's death, Shawn brings Corey along on a soul searching road trip where they end up at a truck stop with the band Nobody's Angel.

I think it's truly the worst episode of the season and maybe one of the worst episodes of Boy Meets World. I mean, I would put it in the bottom five.

Agreed.

But also, I guess there are worse episodes for me personally or that I look at and I'm like, ugh, I just don't like that episode. But it's also. If this is. If memory serves. And I hope I picked the right one. I think the B story. This is Eric.

Yes. And dressing up like the poet and doing all that kind of stuff. That is a better one. That's a funny B story. And the A story has been trying. And Keone does the great professor and with the gibberish.

Yeah. Eager before he visits his guidance counselor to prepare his college schedule and enthusiastically picks the hardest classes. But he soon realizes it's too hard.

Yeah, I guess that was a pretty good episode. It's funny. I just really wrote off the early season when I was looking at the list, but you're right, that was a pretty good one.

I think that that was. You know, if we compare it to our picks from season four. No, but within the context of season six, it's a solid episode.

And I think it's you know that the tag is super funny with you guys doing war. It was not. Not like it was not the easiest week doing it, but I think the episode is solid and. And it also goes along with my alternative strategy. Should I go that way? And then I'm going to go right into number 13. We'll have a good time then. Which is like, at the time, I think I, you know, when we did our. Our recap, I talked about how dramatic it was and how that felt maybe like a misstep in some ways. But if I take it on its own terms, it's a really. It's a really solid episode. I love anytime that Blake is on the show and so out of the context, like, if I take this one out of context and not the rest of season six, it's a very pivotal Boy Meets World episode. Obviously it's pivotal for me and Sean. So I'm definitely. I think no matter what, if you're talking about like big episodes of Boy Meets World, this one's got to be on there as like a. A turning point. So just for that alone. And it's. It's solid within, you know, within that context, it's just a drama, you know, it's just kind of a soap opera. There's not a whole lot of laughs, but I'm gonna take that. So those are my two picks cutting the court and we'll have a good time then. Two in a row.

Actually, the B story is great with the. With the. In the restaurant with the waffles and all that kind of stuff.

If I'm really gonna stick with my plan, though, I have to go with Resurrection. I have to go with an episode that even if it means something to people like myself who had a child in the nicu, and there are. In no way am I trying to say that that episode does not speak to a certain experience, and it can be a meaningful episode. But I bet most people, even if they've had that experience, skip that episode in a rewatch, would probably go, you know what? I don't know that I need to relive the. The NICU baby episode, even if it brought them comfort at some point. So, sticking with my plan, I'm going to go with season six, episode 17, resurrection. Okay.

Now I've just gotta go with what I do think is are some of the best episodes or maybe the most memorable.

Yes. Better than the average Cory.

After Cory is introduced to art prodigy Alexander Nikita, he develops an inferiority complex and blames his lack of skills on his average father. Meanwhile, Alexandra, lonely, touring without anyone her own age, befriends Morgan and moves in.

With the Matthews family indefinitely.

Exactly.

So I think that it's a weird episode. I think both of these are weird episodes, but that when the second somebody tells you what happens in that episode, you remember it completely. You remember Corey singing Wind Beneath My Wings. You remember you, the bee and the brain and the jar. So I'm just going for the episodes that from season six, if you mention them to somebody, they'd be like, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, totally. That's an indelible episode of Boy Meets World. And so whether they're good or not. And then, of course, I have Shawn's dad dying completely on the other end of the spectrum. But again, you can't talk about Boy Meets World without talking about that episode. And then what was my fourth one?

Like, just like Everybody Loves Stewart is pretty damn memorable.

It's pretty damn memorable. So I'm gonna pick that one. So mine are, like, the five most memorable. Like, yeah, if you were gonna do write the history of Boy Meets World, my five would be the ones you need for season six. That's what I'm saying.

Okay, so to recap, writers, five picks. Start with season six, episode five, better than your average Corey. He's got season six, episode seven, everybody loves St Stewart. Then he has season six, episode 12, cutting the cord, season six, episode 13, we'll have a good time then, and season six, episode 19, be true. Now, to recap, Will. Will has season six, episode one, part one, which is his answer, part one, and season six, episode two, her answer, part two. He also has season six, episode three, he ain't college Great. The first three episodes of the show. Rounding out the back two, he's got season six, episode 11, Santa's little helpers, and season six, episode 14, getting hitched. To recap mine, I have season six, episode six, hogs and kisses, season six, episode eight, you're married, you're dead, season six, episode 10, and in case I don't see season six, episode 15, road trip, and finally, season six, episode 17, resurrection. Wow. Well, you know what I'll say about season six, A lot of very good memorable moments. Not as many great overall episodes, but lots of really, really good chunks. Beats, moments, scenes, memorable things. So, yeah, it was also a little.

Jarring coming off of season five, which could arguably be the best season of Boy Meets World. Like, we loved season five, so coming season four was.

[Ryder Strong]

Season four is great, too.

[Will Friedle]

I mean, but, I mean, you could argue that those two were the best seasons we've ever done at the show. I mean, one would, but it just. It was. It was a strange season. I mean, again, there's something to be said for the fact that we come back, we do these drafts all the time, and none of us could really remember the episodes. That's gotta mean something.

[Ryder Strong]

Well, I feel like this. This season was kind of treading water a little bit in terms of, like, the through lines. Because you think about Cory, Topanga, they come back having been engaged, like, that was the cliffhanger, and then kind of just. Just stay engaged for the whole season. So, like, that storyline really just is treading water. And then I feel like we introduce Rachel, and then we just kind of, like, keep it. And I don't know, like, this season, I feel like we didn't go strong enough, I guess. We killed Shonce and we did have a baby. We tried, but, like, if you think about where this Season ends, It's like, almost identical to where it starts. Right.

[Will Friedle]

But that's. They had to.

[Ryder Strong]

Topanga going to get married.

[Will Friedle]

They had to do that.

[Ryder Strong]

That's where we started.

[Will Friedle]

I will guarantee you, if they married Corey and Topanga off in season six, we never would have done a season seven.

[Danielle Fishel]

Yeah. But what. Here's what I think. Here's what I'm thinking for me ending season five on that cliffhanger. Oh, my gosh. Topanga proposed. Is he gonna say yes? What's gonna happen then opening up the season on that. By the time we get to her answer, part two, the second episode of the season, that's where they make the decision. We are not gonna rush into getting married. We're just gonna stay engaged. If they could have maintained it that through the entirety of season six, maybe until the very end, when. Maybe when right before we find out Topanga's parents are getting divorced, they just then decide they're going to start planning their wedding. I think we're ready. Let's do it. We could have had a million other storylines for Cory and Topanga that didn't involve wedding planning.

It's also your first year of college. I mean, there's all the college stuff you could have done. I mean, plenty of things that weren't just Cory and Topanga based, you know, and that's why some of the episodes that we like were Cory screwing up, you know, getting his classes, you know, regular kind of college stuff that wasn't Cory Topanga based the entire time.

[Danielle Fishel]

Yeah.

[Will Friedle]

I missed Feeny this season. I thought they brought him in a little bit, but not nearly as much as they should have. I missed the parents. It's just. It was a different dynamic the. The first three or four episodes. Even though I ended up picking most of those with Sean and Jack are with Jack and Eric and Rachel. Just after the third or fourth one, it was like, I don't want to see these people in this apartment yelling about how Jack touched her. And now Eric has to run. It was too much. So it was. Yeah, we were swinging for the fences in some of these episodes. But then you have some gems like club cleavage, which, you know, it's like that the season is, like, the best we've ever done, so.

Well. We also normally give ourselves team names to help our dear listeners vote for us. So what would you call your season six draft picks if you were creating a team name?
