Actually, let's talk about, you know, your favorite word or what I'm trying to use less on this podcast. Psychosis. I went into a little bit of a psychosis this past weekend. I basically realized I was like, guys, it's all true. It's all true. She's having the Rhode island wedding this weekend, and then she's having the Madison Square Garden huge party on July 3rd. Right. Like, it's all true. That's why we've gotten so many DMs. I know the couple. I know who it is. Like, they for sure. This is for sure happening. Yeah. Well, all y' all are getting bad intel. Very bad intel, because someone sent us the actual invitation. Suite is totally different people.

Yeah. That was literally, like, these people got married this past Saturday at that Rhode island venue.

[Chandler]

Mm. And Taylor also was, like, partying all week. She won a big award. Yeah. She was at a game. Like, she was having a big week. So our dear friend and listener and friend of the pod, Kelsey, said, you know, there's no way her wedding is this weekend. And she's, like, out all week as well.

She went out, like, every other night.

[Chandler]

Yeah. So anyway, I did stir myself into a frenzy, and I was like, guys, it's Tomorrow. Look at the weather. It's a perfect sunny day in Rhode Island. She's absolutely getting married. It came and went. She did not. So now we're just back to Madison Square Garden as the prediction.

It's true. We were absolutely back to Madison Square Garden. And I'm just kind of. I'm trying to be like water in this experience. Just kind of like stay loose, stay open. I don't know. It's just like. It's too much for me to go there fully to know that it's gonna happen there. So I'm just trying to stay Zen. It is what it is.

You know what I say about that? Chandler?

Okay, so they are, you know, seated at basically some sort of council meeting. And it's the executive budget for 2027 hearing. The fiscal year 2027. It's the executive budget hearing, and it's with the Committee on Finance, Public Safety, Fire and Emergency Management. And this is the police commissioner. And I think essentially she's just saying why they need a lot of money for something. Okay, okay. Where we need a lot of money for this time of the year.

I think specifically it was about, like, the police might have to work a lot of overtime to do these events. Okay, great.

So here we go. So I'm going to play it from a little bit earlier. The President's military parade, NBA Finals, World cup, potentially Taylor Swift's wedding.

So her name is Jessica Tisch. So I was watching a little bit of Maureen Callahan's the Nerve. Kind of wanting to get a little used to her style because we're going to be guests. And she was talking about this with a guest. And what he said was, he said, jessica Tisch is so professional. And he said that there's no way that she would have said that if it was true. He said that if it was true, she would have been totally locked down. And since she said. And she says it in kind of a joking way, she's like, impossibly. Taylor Swift's wedding. He says that if it was actually, if that was what was happening, then there's just, like, no possible way, like,

nobody in the government would be the one letting it slip.

[Chandler]

Yeah. Like, she's just a complete pro. She would never. Like, she would never disclose that on a public stage with a camera in front of her.

But is she just also, like, an excited Swiftie, too? Did he confirm or deny that?

[Chandler]

No, she's not an excited Swiftie. She is apparently a tried and true dyed in the wool professional. And so this is a. This is a vote and that it's not actually happening at Madison Square Garden.

So this is hope.

And I think a lot of people think that this is just a huge diversion.

Yeah. But then. Okay, so why do we need to think it's at MSG on June, on

July 3rd, so everyone gets their little tush and waddles over to Madison Square Garden. Okay. Instead of to wherever else it's going to be. I mean, it's. That is where that. So this is what's going to happen. Tree pain basically is going to have everyone at Penn Station.

Okay. That day, meanwhile, the wedding is going to be hours away, and no one's going to be.

Also, a dear friend of both of ours and a longtime listener friend, Sophie mentioned to me. She was just like, well, why wouldn't you do it? Like a more romantic building, like New York Public Library, like the Met? There are so many other, like, Buildings in New York that celebrities gather at.

But then we heard. Were you there for this conversation? I can't remember. I've talked about it with a lot of people, but people were saying that Madison Square Garden is the only place that makes, like, total sense, security wise, because it's one of the only places where you can, like, fully drive under and not be seen at all. Like, you can drive under and then enter. I don't know. I don't know. Everybody.

Yeah. One thing that I love about this wedding is that regardless, we're going to have confirmations on where Taylor Swift stands with a lot of different people after this wedding. We're going to know if she's still friends with Blake Lively. For sure. We're going to know where things are with Kelly Teller. Although I think we already. We did get that information. In the story we're about to talk about. There's a lot of. We're. We never have this opportunity where we're just gonna have so many. She's basically. Taylor's basically gonna do a lot of State of the Unions for us with her invite list.

100%. I mean, we're essentially gonna get, like, her burn book, you know, by all the people who aren't there.

Yes.

I mean, it's gonna mean a lot of closure for you. And I. I mean, I think that, yeah, we're gonna. We're gonna have to spend a lot of time on the. On the confirmed guest list.

snubs, if you will, grievances, which is so incredible because up until now, we have not known why Kelly Teller has gone radio silent about Taylor Swift. Kelly Teller used to post tons of Taylor Swift, Swift captions. Everything was to Taylor Swift songs that she posted. She was such a mega hype girl. She got her the opal ring.

How could we forget about the ring?

[Chandler]

How could we forget about the ring? I mean, they were super, super tight. And then there was a major friendship breakdown, and someone has spilled the beans to Page Six about why exactly this friendship is no more.

Yeah. So apparently it all started with the dragon's text.

So, yeah, apparently, you know, when Kelly saw these text messages between Blake and Taylor, she was, you know, was grossed out she didn't want to be a part of it, is what the source says. And she couldn't believe that they were talking to each other like that.

Yeah. So Kelly's on her high horse about that.

And I guess they were leaving Electric Lady's Studio in 2023, and Blake saw the pop photos and was really pissed. And I guess Kelly felt like Blake was kind of creating some drama.

Yeah, some drama. So then there's this other detail where there was an award show and Kelly was supposed to attend with Taylor, but then she dropped out due to personal reasons.

Yeah. So she drops out for personal reasons. And I guess Taylor is not empathetic.

Yes. So I guess, you know, in this moment, after Taylor was not empathetic, friends told Kelly to protect her mental health, that, you know, she needs to take space. But I guess her. Her and Taylor were still in contact here and there.

And it says the nail in the coffin in the friendship is when Taylor did not reach out after the Malibu fires, when Miles and Kelly Teller's house burned down. So I have a lot to say about this.

First, I just have to say really quick. Yeah. So Miles did go on Travis and Jason's podcast, and, you know, I think that things seemed fine. I don't think he would have gone on there if there was some huge feud between, you know, these two women. But then he was asked about attending the wedding separately separately in Parade magazine,

and he said, there's nothing that helps me more in the middle of the night when I cannot sleep than a half or full early bird. And basically the point of the article is to let it be known that Kelly will not be attending the wedding because she doesn't want anyone to think that she is a doormat. So it says. Per the Daily Mail, Kelly allegedly has hoped to reconcile with Taylor Swift and is, quote, heartbroken over how things stand right now. However, she refuses to attend Taylor's forthcoming nuptials to Travis Kelce to avoid, quote, looking like a doormat.

I'm not gonna be your doormat. I'm not gonna come to your wedding.

I'm sorry, can you refuse to attend a wedding you're not invited to? That's kind of ironic.

This is literally her getting in front of the narrative.

Yeah, this is.

She knows she's not invited. She knows she's not going. And this is her saying, I'm on the right side of history. I thought those dragon texts were bad also because Blake wrote the dragon text. I mean, I'm not trying to be a Taylor apologist, you know, to the, you know, 1,000th degree, but I just. I'm sorry. I just think Kelly Teller is kind of irrelevant, and so I. I don't know that this is going to have the impact that she thinks it's going to have.

Yeah, no one is thinking or wondering if Kelly Teller is. I mean, I guess some of us are. Some of us are wondering if she's going to the wedding, but that's the. Or where the friendship stands. But the only, I guess, reason anyone would be thinking about Kelly Teller is in her relation to Taylor Swift. So it's pretty wild to, like, really burn this bridge by feeding all this info to Page Six.

And I think the line about, you Know she's not gonna go. To avoid looking like a doormat is pretty, like, crazy.

Cause it. Yeah. It's trying to make it look like it was her decision to not attend.

Yeah. And that, like, I mean, it's just wild to be like, yeah. If you don't see me at that wedding, that's because I intentionally didn't want to go because I'm not going to let that person walk all over me.

Not only that, but here are my grievances with her. She didn't call me when my house burned down, which is crazy.

It's really hard for me to imagine that Kelly Teller pulled out of an awards show and it caused all this crazy drama.

Yeah. I mean, I, like. Andrea would go like, Taylor's always, like. She's always with, like, a different friend and all these things. Blake. Blake.

That part of the story doesn't make any sense. That doesn't make sense. That that was the big fissure.

And because of that, Taylor didn't text her after the fires. Clearly something else actually happened here that's way worse. Also, the dragon's text. You guys, this friendship, the last time they were seen together was the Super bowl in 2024. Okay. The Dragon's texts were not revealed between Taylor and Blake. That Taylor was talking in this way that made Kelly so upset for a year and a half since they were last seen with each other.

Yeah.

Okay. And the. The Malibu fires were a year before.

[Lauren]

We're like this earlier this November. They were in January 2025.

[Chandler]

Yes. Yeah. So a year before the dragons text came out, the friendship was done. Right. Because if Taylor's not reaching out after your house burns down, clearly the friendship has been burned down.

Something else happened and I just think that this was such a bad move on Kelly's part to just completely burn this friendship to the ground.

Okay, well, let's get into the Beckham family. Let's move away from the Taylor talk.

The drama continues.

The drama continues. I am so exhausted by these people. And so basically this story is all about this visit that Harper Beckham, the I believe 14 year old sister of Brooklyn Beckham and you know, Cruise and all the other kids. Basically she left a letter at Brooklyn's house and there's photos of her like doing this. There's photos of her. And Brooklyn says this was all extremely staged. And you know, the Beckhams are saying absolutely not. And yeah, so basically they have David Beckham got like a star on the walk of fame. And you know, they all like take family photos.

Brooklyn is obviously not there.

And then we see photos of Harper,

the daughter in that exact same outfit allegedly leaving this letter at Brooklyn's house. Well, actually I do think she left this letter there. But I fully believe Brooke Lynn when he says that this was completely staged. You know, Brooklyn says that photographers were there in place as the letter was hand delivered. And it was completely choreographed by the cameras.

And so I, when I saw these photos, I see her in this pink outfit, these crisp, perfect photos of her. Brooklyn Beckham. I'm sorry, but there are not paparazzi just camped out outside his house.

No, no. And like in a random Beverly Hills neighborhood.

[Chandler]

No, there simply are not. So these were staged. There's no doubt in my mind. And I was very much team Brooklyn when I these. But then did you see his doordash commercial?

What was his doordash commercial? So he has this like he's doing, has a partnership with doordash and he basically has like tickets to the World's Cup. The World Cup. And he, I was about to say series, the World cup and he says like, why am I not going this year? It's complicated. And then it's like, part. That's part one, part two is coming or whatever.

[Lauren]

Oh, I know that. Bothered by that.

[Chandler]

Well, okay. I actually. I think that if he's gonna capitalize on his family feud, like, it's okay. Whatever. His statement was insane, but it's done.

[Lauren]

Yeah.

[Chandler]

To now capitalize it in a brand deal. I just don't think you can be so mad at your parents for playing with the media.

[Lauren]

And also. But, yeah, that's true. I just feel like this is a different situation. I mean, it's literally like there's this. This should just be, like a happy family moment. Obviously, things are fractured with Brooklyn and they should just kind of, like, take this day and just have it be focused on, like, celebrating David Beckham. Yeah, whatever. I don't really care about people getting a star but they should just go to Bucaret Pepo or whatever as a family and enjoy this day. But instead they decided, like, oh, no, let's make a stop after this and have this, you know, this letter get dropped off and have the, you know, have the paparazzi take a photo.

[Chandler]

Oh, I guarantee you that's what happened after they left. They knew paparazzi would follow them and they, you know, she dropped off this letter.

So this. It just feels extremely calculated. And, yeah. The doordash commercial. Yeah. That doesn't bother me a ton. I don't know, I just. I feel like you're right. His family is just, like, playing the game. And he's playing the game, but somehow it's grosser coming from, like, two parents. You're right.

The onus is on the parents to take the high road.

[Lauren]

To take the high road and maybe just let this day not be about their, like, PR feuding with their son.

It was crazy because when we were in Capri, which I'm back to saying it the normal way.

Yeah. The incorrect way.

But the incorrect but less annoying way. There was a huge billboard of Nicola.

Do you remember that?

Yeah. She's a model. She's a model.

She's everywhere.

I mean, and also, so at the time, Brooklyn wasn't even there. They were in New York.

So it's like he wasn't even there. Maybe they didn't. I guess they. Maybe they didn't know he was home. It's just I have such, like, a strong ick for basically all of these people.

And every time I see these stories, I guess, like, do they get money somehow? Does, like, does some type of Ticker go up every time there's a story planted for both of them.

I think the idea, obviously, is that David and Victoria would like the notion that they are. That this family is trying to reach out to him and that they're extending all the branches. You know, the daughter is dropping off a handwritten note. They want that out in the media. So that's their goal, is to look good. And I guess them looking good is, on some level, the ticker going up.

[Lauren]

And you know what? If they actually cared about getting through to him, they would not go about it in this way.

[Chandler]

Yeah.

[Lauren]

They would not have it be public at all. It would be an extremely private, I don't know, moment or extremely private communication to him to plead with him, to soften his, you know, approach the situation.

They certainly have a way to get him a letter without driving there straight from the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony

[Lauren]

and delivering the letter.

[Chandler]

Yeah.

[Lauren]

Yeah. Anyway, so that's an embarrassing family.

[Chandler]

Well, in other drama. Okay, we have two people who are about to become a family. Alex Cooper and Matt Kaplan. And the Vanity Fair hit piece on Alex Cooper has finally been published. It is titled Daddy Issues, Trouble behind the Scenes at Alex Cooper's Unwell Media Empire. This was published Friday. This article has been hyped for a long time. The journalist interviewed 40 of 40 people.

40 sources.

[Chandler]

Sources. Former friends, People that were former employees.

[Lauren]

And current employees.

[Chandler]

Yes, and current employees. Anyone that they could get to or that she could get to. Connected to Alex Cooper. And finally this was published.

[Lauren]

So I found this article to be pretty juicy, pretty fascinating. I would disagree, though, that I don't think this is an Alex Cooper hit piece.

[Chandler]

Okay.

[Lauren]

There is nothing unbelievably damning about Alex Cooper in this piece, but there is a lot of damning things about Matt Kaplan. And Matt Kaplan is obviously married to her, and he runs unwell, basically.

There's definitely stuff in the hit piece that looks really bad for Matt Caplan and does not make him look good. I do think, though, that the intent was to write a hit piece on Alex Cooper because no one cares about Matt Kaplan, except he's married to Alex Cooper. So if they had actual dirt on Alex Cooper, that would have been exposed. But no, it's all about Matt Kaplan, which says a lot to me, I

guess a lot, too, about how Alex Cooper is faultless.

[Chandler]

I just think that there's this journalist. Couldn't find that much on her.

[Lauren]

Okay. But I just think if your partner is running your business, the business with your name on it, business that you are the face of.

[Chandler]

Yeah.

[Lauren]

And they're. And we'll get into what he's doing or what, you know, what's been alleged. I think it does reflect terribly on Alex Cooper.

It's not a good reflection on her, for sure.

I mean, it has changed my opinion of the two of them, because I don't think you would be. You can't be this blind to things.

Let's get into what was reported, and then we can. Then we'll share more.

Okay. So basically there were 40 sources, 30 of which were either former employees or, like, current employees. And they basically talk about Matt Kaplan's inappropriate at times, you know, extremely scary and extremely, like, hostile work environment and, you know, and style of leadership. Okay, so I'm going to read some excerpts from this article, this Vanity Fair piece. So staffers describe a company where Alex Cooper is indeed the talent, but where executive decisions are largely made by her husband, Matt Kaplan, whom several described as having a leadership style that felt like a volatile mix of unprofessional and caustic at turns, flirtatious or given to screaming. Some women characterized his behavior as just Matt being weird, while others said they were more significantly affected by it. So we get into just kind of the type of guy that he is.

[Chandler]

Yeah.

[Lauren]

Some employees view Matt Kaplan as the puppeteer behind Alex Cooper. He said at one point, you need to help me get Alex out of the house and into these meetings. I don't give a fuck if she is sitting on our couch eating hot Cheetos all the time while I'm over here running our company. Running her company.

[Chandler]

Weren't. Didn't make sense together to me because he's at one point saying, I don't care if she's on the couch eating Cheetos. And then he's also saying, get her in the meeting. So I'm so confused. Yeah.

[Lauren]

I don't know if that was, like,

[Chandler]

I don't really get what that was.

[Lauren]

I don't care that, like, she. I don't know. She shouldn't be doing that. Like, I don't know.

[Chandler]

While.

[Lauren]

While I'm over here running her company. Sounds like he's kind of annoyed that he's having to do all of this while she's eating hot Cheetos.

[Chandler]

It sounds like, though, that that's kind of the division of labor. Right. That she hosts call her daddy and he runs unwell.

[Lauren]

Yeah, But I think at the end of the day, it's not like unwell is very much so Alex Cooper you

[Chandler]

know, she's certainly the face of it.

[Lauren]

She's certainly the face of it. And I didn't. I did not know that Matt Kaplan had this big of a role in it. I thought he was still kind of doing his own business, but they actually, like, combine their businesses and are fully running and well together.

[Chandler]

Yeah.

[Lauren]

So, okay, so just getting into a few of these little nuggets and stories. So somebody said Matt creates the most toxic work environment that I've ever seen. Says someone who worked with Unwell on a freelance project, describing how they witnessed Matt Kaplan repeatedly making young female employees cry as he berated them for making minor mistakes, such as putting balloons in the wrong place at an event or underestimating how long it would take to upload video footage. So I'm gonna get into a few more of these, and these ones are kind of just like he is. He's a pretty stern, like, bad temper, bad temper. I think there are more damning things in this, so stay tuned. So another person says, matt will scream the worst things and say the nastiest things to you, and Alex will be there right next to him. Not defending anyone.

[Chandler]

I just. Okay, I don't mean to be the defense attorney here, but if he's screaming these horrible things, why does this journalist not have one quote about what those horrible things were? You know?

[Lauren]

Well, I mean, we do. She does. So at one point, he said, are you fucking with me? Are you intentionally trying to fuck with me? You're wasting my money. I can replace you at any point.

[Chandler]

That is bad. That is really bad.

[Lauren]

Another moment, you know, where he kind of had a tantrum. He burst out of the Video Village area during production and said, I really want to yell at somebody right now. I kind of got this energy from him in the documentary, for what it's worth. Okay, so this is just all about him being, like, not. Not fun to work with and having a temper.

[Chandler]

Yeah.

[Lauren]

Now we get into the stuff that I find to be very gross.

[Chandler]

Yeah.

[Lauren]

Okay. So multiple women recall Matt Kaplan asking them about their sex lives. I've heard him in the office be like to employees, who did you have sex with this weekend? One former employee also said, you know, he'd be like, what did you do this weekend? Who did you fuck? Several employees describe him commenting on their physical appearance, remarking on whom he found hot or overweight, and noting how their clothing looked and fit. Others describe instances where they felt Matt Kaplan stared at them too long or when a hand on a thigh or the back of the neck lingered. Okay. When is any employer putting a hand on your thigh? Even just in general, let alone that's so true. That is super weird to me. Okay, so it's not just Matt Kaplan that is kind of creating this environment. So the day to day operations at Unwell are largely run by the Chief Brand Officer, TJ Marchetti. He's in his late 50s and several former employees say they have had negative experiences with him. They describe feeling uncomfortable with how flirty he was with the young female fans at at Unwell events. Another recalls Marchetti telling her to take down photos from Unwell's Instagram account of young fans who she recalls him saying, quote, were not attractive enough, which is just gross.

So basically, I'll just kind of, like, give the tldr. When they found out that this article was being written, they tried to, like, embarrass this reporter. And they basically said that she. Because she had interviewed Alix Earl before, that she was like, an Alex Earle fan, this reporter who wrote this, you

And they said, quote, you know, maybe Mollett talking about this author. Maybe Mollett upped her journalism game over the past two years. But some on Team Cooper are skeptical, given that she's only been a reporter for five minutes. And so then the day after that Page Six story ran where they talked about this journalist, Vanity Fair received a letter from Brian Friedman. And it said, quote, the letter, sent on behalf of Cooper, Kaplan, and Noel, accused this magazine of assigning the story to a novice journalist, alleging that I have connections to Earl and a direct competitor of our clients in the podcasting and influencer spaces. And it also included a threat. It said, if the story so much as suggests any sexual impropriety on Mr. Kaplan's part, I will make it my life's mission to ensure Vanity Fair's days are numbered.

[Chandler]

I mean, that is wild.

[Lauren]

I think it's pretty bold that they made that threat and that this article still came out with these, you know, with these reports. Yeah. Makes me feel like there's a lot of credence to it.

[Chandler]

Well, okay, so I think that there's one moment in the article where basically the girl says that she feels like he is very much flirting with her in front of Alex.

She says that they were having a conversation, and then he switched it to being, like, pretty flirty. And she's like, don't do this. Like, Alex right here. Yeah.

The tough thing with this article is that a lot of this feels very subjective. A few things that are not subjective. Hand on the thigh or neck?

Not.

[Chandler]

Or especially thigh. Neck is also.

So, no, I don't arm. You touch my arm. No, don't just touch me.

Yeah, I think that that part is probably the only or one of the few objectively terrible things.

[Lauren]

I mean, I don't want to be asked by somebody who's above me in work. I don't really want, especially a guy, a straight guy, about who I had sex with over the weekend.

[Chandler]

No, I completely agree with that. But I also think. Do you think there could be a culture at Call Her Daddy that, like, Call Her Daddy Incorporated? That's very crass and that people talk about their sex lives?

[Lauren]

I agree. And I think that. I think this article does get into that. Like, you know, where do the lines actually get drawn when we are, you know, when this empire is literally built on crass girl talk, on Lock Girl, you know, locker room talk. But then we also have to have a professional work environment where people feel safe.

[Chandler]

Right.

[Lauren]

And, you know, well, this is one of the comments that somebody made, which is just that, you know, having a podcast, an entertaining podcast, and also running a business with employees are two fully separate skills. And also, I think having Brian Friedman send them that threatening letter, what are they so afraid of coming out? Right. And it's hugely disappointing, I'm sure, to Alex Cooper's fans, that she picked this guy who is clearly terrible.

Yeah. I mean, I. I just think that, you know, if this is the way you're, like, husband acts out on the job.

And somebody said, you know, isn't that kind of like mean girl? According to this article, allegedly, Matt Kaplan says we're all mean girls at this company. I'm the biggest mean girl of anyone.

It's absolutely gross. And, you know, it's so funny to me. Like, Alex Cooper has such a cult following. People obviously love her so much. And then it got completely switched up and Alex Cooper is now supposed to be like the Oprah of our generation, literally just interviewing celebrities and sharing nothing about their. About her life.

Which is why, if I may interject the idea that as her business has scaled, like, you know, operations have, you know, remained in a toxic way or they've, like, the lines have still been blurred. But yeah, like, from an, you know, public facing standpoint, she has gotten more professional or she's only, like, elevated her brand. But behind the scenes, it's like, just as gross.

Like, she's still trying to, like, drum up, like, excitement for it, him talking about it, period.

I would actually say that saying I was hoping that there would be a big distraction is gonna make people be more interested in it if he. I think that if he just said nothing and there was less people buzzing about it, that would actually be the thing that would cause less interest. Yeah.

I don't think he's as complete of a douche as I thought he was initially.

He is bugging me with his girlfriend. The way that he acted when she was moving in was bugging me. Like, it would be so annoying to move all your stuff across the country and then to have your boyfriend be, like, low key annoyed because you need, like, closet space. And he was making a lot of comments like, she started crying.

Yeah.

[Lauren]

And I think the fact that she started crying is kind of indicative of, like, maybe some larger themes at play here. And the way he makes her feel like this is not her. His and her life together.

It's like her just kind of, like, being a visitor in his life.

Yeah. I mean, I did. Okay. I agree with that. I think that as they were taking things out and he was kind of trolling her for some of the decor and, like, he already has a lot of, like, wood ornamentation in his home.

I think that the problem with this show is it just puts on full display the kind of male Peter Pan syndrome that so many of these guys are clearly dealing with. And I just. It makes it. It just makes them very unlikable because they're all, like, early 40s or late 30s, and they're just really struggling with

the idea of committing literally. I mean, getting into the conversation between Nick and Yvonne.

[Chandler]

Yeah. Well, I. I kind of want to stay with Kenny and Kenny and Whitney because, you know, he should just be able to say, this relationship is absolutely on the road to us getting engaged. Like, he should just be able to say that, you know, if she does move across the country, she's moving in with you. That should just be obvious. Right. And it would be very easy to just say, yeah, like, that's where this is all heading. I wouldn't ask women to move in with me if I didn't think that that's where this was ending up. And he does say that to her privately. He says, I want kids, I want a big family. When she's upset with him at, you know, at his birthday dinner. Yeah, it's just, it seems like when he's saying to Kyle, I'm worried there isn't that spark there. What he is saying is, is what I love is the very first beginning part of a relationship when there's like so much fire and excitement. And what I'm worried about is like that is not, is like, is the long term life, you know, life with someone long term where that kind of fizzles out.

Well, I mean he even, you know, when talking about his favorite things about her is she wakes up happy.

[Chandler]

Yeah. She's just.

Yeah.

[Chandler]

I don't know. I don't think that's a horrible thing to say that you love about someone.

I don't think it's a. No, it's a, it's a lovely thing.

But I think that like he didn't really have much else to say about her. Like I feel like that was like the best part. That was the only like good thing about her or that was like that was the number one thing.

Yeah. The other interaction I found really annoying was between Nick and Yvonne. So Yvonne is 39 years old, they are married and, and he is reticent to have children. And he says to her, I'm just not sure it's the right time.

[Lauren]

Well, and I think some context here is that apparently. So she says that they were on the same page about having kids before they got married, but then once they got married, which is pretty recently.

[Chandler]

Yeah.

[Lauren]

He is now kind of like, I

[Chandler]

don't know, he's hemming and hawing and I just think to do that to a 39 year old woman where it's going to be hard no matter what. Starting at 39, trying like it, it's just kind of unforgivable also I guess

[Lauren]

like she got laid off and so it kind of. I feel like she's painting this picture of like maybe this is the perfect time to like to be switching gears a little bit.

[Chandler]

Yeah.

[Lauren]

And yeah, he has like a furniture remaking business. Yeah. I mean this show really like it doesn't necessarily make a great case for a lot of straight men. No.

[Chandler]

I think that what the Valley does and in the City does is it makes a really terrible case for being a heterosexual woman, especially one who is in their like late 30s and trying to date or be married, because you're either trying to date guys that are. And living in New York, you know, this, like, you do not have that much storage space, so you have to be, like, getting rid of stuff quite often, I think, in order to just like, maintain, like, no organization and harmony,

in order to maintain normalcy and space, you have to constantly be donating. Just if. Because if you want to receive anything, you got to get rid of stuff. Yes. There's just not enough space. And I actually find it to be. I don't know, I actually really like that part of New York because I just find it to be, like. Like a constant kind of cleansing of

your belongings, which is nice.

Like, you're constantly doing an accounting of the things in your closet and the things that you have in your home, and it's like, let's just get rid of it.
