Once a name that meant something and was an event now means almost nothing. The films lack the depth of the past, character development, and sweeping moments with weight. The Mandalorian and Grogu is no different. It's such a swing and a miss that you may wonder what intentions Disney has while making these films. Mom's not angry at you, she's very disappointed. That is how this movie feels. Massive disappointment. 0:00:00 - Box Office 0::15:00 - Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu 0:29:45 - Movie Recommendation - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Dir. In The Grey seems to it right into that style of storytelling. With a great cast, why is nobody watching it? Feel free to leave a comment as to why you probably didn't watch it, though it deserved your patronage. 0:00:00 - Box Office 0:10:30 - In the Grey, Dir. ***Please note the new format. Going forward, we record smaller segments and post them as one, longer audio file. 081 - Mortal Kombat II, Dir. Simon McQuoid Mortal Kombat (2021) was an unexpected hit and good time. The fans wanted a few things changed but It's safe to say it was far and above what was expected after the 1997 disaster. Mortal Kombat II gave fans more of what they wanted but at the sacrifice of the little story that made the 2021 film so unexpectedly great. MKII has more Kano, some excellent Johnny Cage, and more fights between destined characters (and a few deaths!). What was your take on it? 080 - The Devil Wears Prada 2, Dir. David Frankel The Devil Wears Prada (2006) was a really witty, snappy and well written film with a young but very star studded cast. the humor and dialogue was very early to Mid 2000's. The Devil Wears Prada 2 (2026) is a witty, snappy and well written film that just misses the mark by just a small amount yet still manages to be very enjoyable. The humor is still reminiscent of the early 2000's and hasn't changed much. Hathaway, Blunt, Tucci, and Streep have not lost a step, though, in their roles and are worth the ticket. 0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:04:30- Box Office 0:07:30 - Movie Recommendation - The Devil Wears Prada, Dir David Frankel (2006) 0:13:00 - The Devil Wears Prada 2, Dir. 079 - Michael, Dir. Antoine Fuqua Michael Jackson is the iconic and undeniable King of Pop and Jafaar Jackson plays the title character beautifully. Like The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Michael is a wonderful fan service film, but lacking in almost every category that matters to story telling. Does this movie capture the superstar or the man? 0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:06:00 - Box Office 0:09:00 - Movie Recommendation - Whiplash, Dir, Damien Chazelle (2014) 0:13:00 - Michael, Dir. 078 - The Mummy, Dir. Lee Cronin There is no Brendan Fraser nor is there any classic Boris Karloff to appeal to you here, sadly. There is an abundance of gore and horror elements present though, if that is your thing, complete with an older woman being eaten by coyotes. If that is your thing, then this movie is for you! 0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:16:00 - Box Office 0:17:35 - Movie Recommendation - Evil Ded 2, Dir. 077 - The Drama, Dir. Kristoffer Borgli Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. Do you need more reasons to watch this? It's a dark comedy about a couple, a week before their wedding, hitting a wall, sending their wedding week off the rails. It's light on the comedy but heavy on the dark. But Pattinson and Zendaya are wonderful, as always. 0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:07:30 - Box Office 0:09:00 - Movie Recommendation - Can't Hardly Wait, Dir. 076 - The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Dir. A.Horvath / M.Jelenic / P.Leduc / F.Polack Mario may be one of the most famous and successful franchises in the world if not THE most famous and recognizable franchises in the world. 2023's The Super Mario Bros. Movie was a smash hit commercially but was pretty critically panned. 2026's The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is, somehow, MORE wanting in the area that matters most in a film- the story. BUT both film are absolutely excellent Mario and Nintendo fan service films for kids. They're bright, colorful, fast paced, and fun. Sometimes, that matters. 0:00:00 - Introductions and Banter 0:16:30 - Box Office 0:18:45 - Trailer - Supergirl, Dir. Craig Gillespie (2026) 0:25:15 - Movie Recommendation - The Wild Robot, Dir.
