A
Was it more of a defensive practice? I feel like. I feel like day one of training camp.
B
Oswald, I'm sorry. Don't you dare. There's nothing happening here. No, you're going to get put in punishment. Yeah, yeah. Be quiet. Candace was talking. Go ahead.
A
Not Oswald. Not the government name.
B
That's what happens when you just start doing stuff.
A
You just hit the mic. That's funny. What's up, everyone? Welcome back to Post Moves. I'm Candace Barker here with my co host, Aaliyah Boston.
B
That's me. A, a, a, a, it's me.

A
Or my hat that I have on backwards.
B
Well, I was gonna.
A
Can I confess something?
B
I was gonna wait. Yeah.
A
No, because it's, like, awkward. I never wear backwards hats. It's weird. I don't know.
B
Tell us what's going on.
A
Yeah, I want to tell you. Well, what I was going to get on here and tell you was that the draft is happening this week, April 23rd. The Bears, they have the 25th pick. We. An opportunity to get better, build on what we did last year. Yeah. But I'm not. I'm not going to lie because I was telling my son today, yeah, I was telling my son today in school when at circle time, they asked him what he did this weekend and he said he got on a airplane and went to Chicago. And I was like, no, you didn't. That's a lie. Don't. You did not do that. Because.
B
Why did he need to say that, though?
A
Exactly. I was like, goose, you did not do that. Like, I'm sitting there, so I have to be what I want my kids to be. And so I actually started getting my braids done. I'm going blonde.
B
Yeah, they look good.
A
Thank you. And we didn't finish, so I will be careful with my movements because the whole first half of my head is unbraided. So that's the truth. Post ops. I don't want to lie to you. Don't want to lie to you. But birthday was great. Thank you. Birthday was great. I appreciate everyone that made me feel extremely special. I love my people. It's so funny because I got like. Everybody knows I love food and drinks, right? And sweets. Those are like my three things. So I got food, drinks, and sweets. The entire, like, my daughter got Me, two tomahawk steaks.
B
That's what that was her gift to me.
A
And I was like, yes.
B
Wait, she's clutch for that, though.
A
Yeah. So everybody kind of just like brought me food and drinks. I got, you know, nice tequila. I got just a little bit of this, a little bit of that. My wife did a really amazing dinner last night where they came in and cooked just their high end on food, like, fast food. Like, we had chicken and waffles, but it was a caviar. And we had like fish sandwich with a caviar and cheese and all that stuff. Of course, sushi. So it was great. So I appreciate it. I feel 40. I'm not old. I'm going to start saying I'm established. So we're not using not old anymore. It's established.
B
Yeah.
A
So I heard you were honored for your leadership alongside Kelsey Mitchell in the community.
B
Oh, yes.
A
Thank you. At the Steward Speakers Annual fundraising gala and award ceremony. Okay, okay, okay. Thank you.
B
Thank you.
A
You see the dress?
B
I know. Period, right? Yeah.
A
Nicely.
B
My arms kind of look toned in that too, though. Like, do you see it?
A
Do you see a little take the kinda out, say it with your chest, your own arms. Look. Tone, period.
B
Slay queen. Thank you. I mean, I just can't say it myself. For real.
A
Yeah, you can.
B
I can't. No, no.
A
So during their onstage interview, Kelsey announced that she's getting a PhD in educational leadership.
B
I know, I know.
A
So are you going to do anything you're going to.
B
I'm going to be there to support, like, moral support. I. She was like, yeah. You guys gonna help me study? I was like, when?
A
Girl, what was your. What was your major?
B
Mass communications.
A
Okay.
B
I actually, they wanted me to so I could have graduated early and started my masters, but the thought of that really just didn't sit right with me, so I didn't.
A
So you were just like, I'm gonna just.
B
Yeah, I'm just gonna. Yeah. Like, please. I'm not doing that. Like, my mom wanted me to so bad. And, like, the coach was like, yes, you should do it. I was like, I don't think so. I like my piece. You know what I'm saying?
A
Yeah. I. My senior year, I think I had like an internship in like six hours. My entire senior year. I was chilling. It was great. But, yeah, do you use your major? Like, girl, what's. What's the difference between communications and mass communications?
B
Okay, so basically, in South Carolina, mass communications. Oh, well, it was like broadcasting was like, separate, which is what I started in but then at South Carolina, you have to, like, after you graduate, you have to go back and do something else. And the whole going back and proving that my major works was not for me. So I just did mass communications, where, like, once you graduate, you just graduate and, like, you get your degree. So that's exactly what I did. Because there's no reason for you. For me to prove that, like, my. My degree is working. Like, there's simply no reason for that.
A
So you don't want a case in point.
B
So I felt like I did. Like, I didn't need to. You know what I'm saying?
A
All right. I guess. No, I'm for it. I just always ask people if they use their majors, because I feel like a lot of people don't use their majors. You don't see me, and we're talking about. No, you're communicating. But I don't know about mass communication right now. I mean, I guess a podcast reaches masses of people, but.
B
Yeah. And when I buy this one has games. Like, that's not communication.
A
I mean, it is, but do you think your major helped you with that? I ask myself that all the time.
B
I'm getting like, yes. Like, why not? Gave me the confidence, you know, to go out there and just talk and just yap for fun.
A
So I have to say this, that a couple episodes ago, there were. We were talking about falling, right? Like, don't look at me when somebody falls. And so we have amazing producers shout out to Chelsea. She's great. She brings in segments. Some sponsored, some just stuff we want to just do. Right? So I just decided not to ask and just to do something that would make me happy every single episode. So I want to have some sort of fall video or some sort of blooper video that we include just to bring joy to us and our viewers. This week's fall video is a viral baptism video. And it made me think because Az Fudd said that she got baptized after the NCAA tournament, but before the draft.
B
Yeah.
A
Amazing. Have you been baptized?
B
I have.
A
Okay. Did it go like this? Chelsea, run the video.
B
I be down in Jesus name. No, because genuinely, why that. Why did he fall?
A
Okay.
B
He had no. He probably needed to give. He probably needed the baptism as well. Cause he.
A
So the individual that was being baptized went back into the water, and he took someone else on the ride with him.
B
Oh, my gosh, How?
A
Straight face. And then the part where the cameraman's like, help him up, help him up, help him up. And then he gets up and he has this look on her face. See, in that instance, no way I could have kept it together. Zero way.
B
No, I'm sorry, that was silly. That was like. That was od. That was od. Like, I honestly, like, I don't know what you do in that situation. Like, what are you supposed to do? What are you supposed to do?
A
No, genuinely now, if the woman would have went down with them, it would have made the video that much better. But she kept her footing. I think this is a good time to transition to our fresh take of the week presented by Wendy's. Wendy's new spicy chicken sandwich is crispier, crunchier and more flavor packed than ever. Wendy's, we're so back. Speaking of my birthday, speaking of this week, it's been a birthday week celebration. Honestly, I'm super grateful for my family and friends. Does anyone actually enjoy having Happy birthday sang to them? Because I know that it's like supposed to be to make you feel special, but people that called and then they sang Happy Birthday and it's like past the first, you know, happy birthday to you. And you're like kind of just like. And then it's like happy, like we gotta run it back. Happy birthday to you. And you're like, okay, I got it. And then they're like, happy birthday. But you know you're talking about me because it's my birthday. So it's just like awkward. And then you stand there and you just kind of look at everybody and it's always made me super have anxiety as a kid. I didn't, I wasn't able to put a name to it. But just at your birthday everybody just sings to you and you're just like,
B
what do you do? No, that's valid. So like in my family everyone calls and sings. I'm, I'm talking about everyone. Like my mom, my grandma, and like my grandma, she's going to hit like the rounds of Happy Birthday. Like it's not, it's not just one, it's not just two. Like she's going to go through the whole song and that's just how it is. And sometimes I, I'm on the phone and I'm like, wow. You know, it's like, it's like, wow, I appreciate everyone. Like for me, when I call, if, if I'm saying Happy Birthday, like I'm gonna hit a remix, something no one's ever heard.
A
Let's, let's do something different. Let's get away from that. Like hit me with some Stevie Wonder. Happy birthday. Happy birthday.
B
That's me. I'M like that type of girl.
A
Let's do that. But the same song. Like, yesterday, I was super grateful. Everybody called. And I love, like, the calls. Like, that means a lot, the calls. Aaliyah only texted me. She didn't call me. But I love the. The calls. It's great. But it's just like, you know, do you. I just sit there and I. I smile because it's on FaceTime and you don't know if the person's really trying to sing or if they're just.
B
If they're just doing it for fun. And then you also don't know, like, it gets. I get stuck when, like, I don't know if they're going to want to, like, continue to talk after because then it's like, it's. We're already on the phone so long.
A
But then it's also like, do you say good job? Do you rate it? Is it like an idol?
B
You just have to say thank you and just, you know, move on. I don't.
A
Yeah. Anyhow, You know what's funny about summer? The celebration doesn't start when you show up. It starts way before that. It's the group chat, lighting up, the invites rolling in, and then that moment hits. What am I wearing to all of this? Because the outfit, that's part of the confidence. That's why I like what Macy's is doing right now. They're really focused on that before moment. They've got personal stylists you can book for free, and they'll help you pull together full looks head to toe. So you're not guessing. You're walking in ready. And I'm still a fan of going in store, trying things on, actually building the outfit. They've got everything from that easy golden hour glow vibe to bold, fun summer looks. So whatever your energy is, you can find it. So I gotta ask, what are you most excited for this summer? And what's the one event you need a look for? Because if you feel good before you even get there, you're already winning. Back in 1995, Wendy's invented the iconic spicy chicken sandwich. Built from scratch, they perfected the balance of heat and flavor in every bite. So, yeah, Wendy's set the standard, but standards don't stand still.
B
So in 2026, they're going back. Back to the flavor, back to the quality, and back to the kitchen to make the sandwich that started it all better. Meet the new spicy chicken sandwich. Same iconic sandwich from Wendy's, now even more iconic.
A
But we're talking a bold blend of nine peppers and spices. And the breading, even crispier than before, golden and glistening with that signature spice blend. Crispier, crunchier, and even more flavorful than ever. All cooled down with some pickles, tomato, mayo, because you deserve more from your chicken sandwich.
B
Being the first was one thing, but being the best, that's a Wendy's thing. So don't just take their word for it. Consider this your official invitation. Come see, come compare, come taste. Trust them. You're going to have to eat it to believe it. 2026 quality is our recipe LLC. Boom.
A
Chicken bop. These days, it's easy to sit back and just let life happen. You get comfortable, and suddenly you're just moving on autopilot.
B
But drivers aren't like everyone else. They see and do things differently.
A
They live life by their own rules, and they certainly don't follow the crowd.
B
That's why this is a reminder for me from Volkswagen and from drivers everywhere to actually take control.
A
Make the most of every day. Take your own path.
B
Grab the wheel. Get in the driver's seat of your own life.
A
Because honestly. What are you waiting for?
B
Head over to vw.com and see what's waiting for you.
A
All right, it's time for what we want to talk about. You know what I want to talk about?
B
Wait, How.
A
Remember when I said I would actually pay for dinner?
B
Yes. I can't wait. I'm not a steak.
A
I'm not anymore. Because guess what?
B
What do you mean?
A
Huge news came out on Friday that you resigned a four year, 6.3 million dollar contract with the Fever, giving her the richest total salary in league history to date. Dang. Big baller. AB Is the first.
B
Take me to dinner.
A
No, because.
B
Wait, why?
A
Like, because you have money in your pockets and.
B
Yeah, but, but, but technically, you know, technically, like, it might be there, but I really gotta call my mom and ask her because, you know, she. She manages all that. Like, she runs the whole shabazz. So it's like.
A
So you have to call your mom to take me to dinner.
B
Do I really have to call? You know what? Saying, like, I got to ask, like, if. If the funds.
A
All right, well, I'm done with this. You're. You're buying. We're going to a really nice place. AB Is the first WNBA player to sign an extension under the new epic clause was eligible due to her all WNBA second team selection in 2025. AB will make a million dollars in 2026 and the supermax salary, which is 20% of the team's cap through 2029. And AB will make over 10 times her 20, 25 salary of $83,000. That's crazy. That is crazy. So congratulations.
B
Honestly, it's a blessing, though. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. It's a blessing. I'm excited.
A
And it's also, like, a good feeling to be locked up in a place you want to be for an extended period of time.
B
Yeah.
A
So congratulations, man. Like, seriously. I mean it. Yeah. You're gonna buy dinner, though. What was crazy was AB had to, like, come onto the scene and pull up to the scene and let everybody know. But before ab, Asia Wilson set the new standard. And then, obviously, you came in. Asia signed a three year, $5 million supermax deal to return to the Las Vegas Aces. The deal at the time was the largest, so two of the highest paid players in the WNBA are gamecocks.
B
Say with me. Cocks up, baby.
A
Cocks up if you take me to dinner. Cocks up if you take me to dinner.
B
All right, fine. We can go to dinner. We can go to dinner.
A
And Dawn Staley, of course, had to chime in because she understood. Understands that she got two the best in the game that are being paid like they should be. Cha Ching. The girlies and their bags. She quoted after. Obviously, the South Carolina women's basketball team had to tweet the fact that y' all are rich on rich on rich on rich. So there's gonna be no more, like, you guys going back and just eating team meals. You guys know you're gonna have to take the team out, and you're gonna have to, like, you know that, right?
B
What happened? I could just hear the thing.
A
That's crazy. More money, more problems, I'm telling you.
B
Not for me, though. Not for me.
A
Okay. You still going not buy gifts at Christmas? That's crazy. Here's my thing.
B
If you don't send, like, your Christmas list ahead of time, I. Unfortunately, I'm not. What do you want me to do?
A
Okay, well, I'm just saying, you have the money now. You should. Yeah, you should definitely, definitely take care of the people around you. 100%. But did. Don't hit you?
B
She did. She did.
A
Of course.
B
She texted me. She hit me with a congratulations, like, you deserve it. Like, money in the bang. Money in a bang. And then she said, I know your mom, and I know you're saving every dime of it.
A
I'm just cracking up because I picture her sending that emoji with the little tongue. That's the dollar sign.
B
Yes, yes.
A
Yeah.
B
And then she Sent like a. One of those emojis. I don't know if you've ever seen this one. They're actually missing their two front teeth. You ever seen that?
A
I like that. Like, you about to get paid. I like that you lost your teeth and you about to get that. That tooth fairy money. Training camp started on Sunday. How was it? How'd it go?
B
It was good. It was good. It was exciting to get back in the gym. It was intense. But everyone. Everyone honestly did great. Like, it was nice hearing from the rookies. Like, they. They did great. They asked a lot of questions, which I actually love, because instead of just sitting there and, like, trying to be confused or pretend, you know, it all, like, they were very eager and, like, they went in all them drills. They wasn't hiding. So that was good. That was. How was.
A
How was your. Who's next to you in the locker room? Like, what's the. Who are your two locker roommates?
B
Okay, so I have Meg McConnell on one side, and then KK is on my other side.
A
Okay.
B
Okay. Okay.
A
Because that's, like, fun, you know? Like, you get to the locker room and you're joking around and all that stuff. You have some new faces on your team. Monique Billings, Ty Harris, Maisha Hines, Allen Chator, Walker Kimbrough, Megan McConnell, Kayana Traylor. How were the rookies? Raven Johnson, obviously, fellow.
B
No, they were good.
A
They were really good.
B
They were. Everyone was great. It was, like, super intense. Like, that was. That was a really great first day of training camp. You know, like, you never know how it's going to be. Like, you go through a bunch of drills and the coaches put a bunch of drills that they're not hard, but they're taxing, and you're getting up and down them lungs opening up. But it was great. It was great. It was great.
A
Was it more of a defensive practice? I feel like. I feel like day one of training camp usually is always defensive.
B
Oswald, I'm sorry. Don't you dare. There's nothing happening here. No, you're gonna get put in punishment. Yeah, be quiet. Candace was talking. Go ahead.
A
Not Oswald. Not the government name.
B
That's what happens when you just start
A
doing stuff and he just hit the mic. That's funny. I feel like training camp is usually like a defensive practice.
B
No, it is, it is.
A
It's like, okay, we. The whole point of basketball is to score, right? Like, we want to keep them from scoring, but we do have to, like, be able to score a little bit.
B
And we did that, though. We, like, we do obviously the defensive drills and then you go and transition, transition offense, down back, stuff like that. But, but they'll do it. Like you have to get two stops in a row before you can go on offense. And then they, if they score or whatever they get offensive on, then you start back over and you don't get to go and transition. Yeah.
A
Oh yeah. I woke up on Sunday, I missed so much. I feel like I, I would, I wouldn't miss, I would miss training camp now. But when I started as a Rookie, we had 21 straight days of 2A days.
B
Ashley.
A
So Leslie Michael Cooper was crazy. 21 straight days and 2A days. So I think I'm gonna be at, in LA at the beach chilling and. Nah, bro. Like we were in the gym. I was miserable my rookie year. 21 straight days of 2A days. When I tell you my knees were the size of my head.
B
No, that doesn't make sense.
A
My body was hurting and it was on like this floor, this high school church floor. That was awful. So I don't think I would miss nowadays training camps. Yeah, but back then, are you kidding me? Hell no. I woke up happy. Chilling. But it's really cool to see just like some of the videos that are coming out and obviously there's a lot of social media and things like that. But Caitlin looked healthy. Yeah, right. We saw, we saw the one handed catch and pass which was really nice. I mean shoot, you know, direct, get
B
it right there as a post. That's your favorite thing.
A
It's my favorite thing when you have a guard that can pass, you know, harder. But you know that look Heinz Allen turned back around and was like oh, okay, that was a dime.
B
Yeah, that's the real deal. This is the real deal. 100%.
A
That was a dime. Well listen, you guys begin the preseason this Saturday, April 25th against the Liberty playing in New York. We talked about SATU last week. Since then, Sabrina, Stewie and Jon Jones, big surprise. Not a surprise at all. All signed multi year deals to return to the team. They locked in their big three on three year max contracts. I'm cracking up because some of the releases of like the announcements that they were coming back. I know. Chelsea Gray's son announced that she's staying in Vegas. Stewie's kids were so cute. Announcing that they they were staying in New York. Potential starting lineup for the New York Liberty that you're gonna face off in preseason.
B
Huge, isn't it?
A
Sabrina Agnescu, Phoebus, Sabley Stewart and Jones. Yeah, that's a big Lineup.
B
That's a big lineup, isn't it?
A
It's a very big lineup. So I'm looking forward to this coming Saturday, seeing you all in your preseason game. I mean, that's. That's pretty cool, man.
B
No, 100%.
A
That's pretty dope.
B
I'm excited. It's just crazy, though, because the season's literally here.
A
Yeah, we blinked, and the season's here. Speaking of signings, but you don't want training camp for that long. Like, you want to get going, you know, like, a lot, especially the teams that have a core, that have played together. You don't want all that.
B
You just want. No, exactly.
A
Like, let's just get to the games. Speaking of signings, I. I do want to say that I think this is going to be one of the best signings. And the Aces got way better because after one year away from wnba, Kennedy Carter has signed a training camp deal with the Aces. Obviously, training camp deal means she has to make the team. However, Kennedy Carter coming off the bench for the Aces.
B
It's crazy. No, it's actually silly.
A
It's actually kind of nice. Like, Becky Hammond, what she's gonna be able to do with that, and then also, like, the culture around with the Aces, and, like, she's been hooping over in China. She even played, I think, in, like, South America or Mexico or Puerto Rico or somewhere.
B
Yeah.
A
But she said when they asked her, I feel like I've grown matured, and I took time to myself to find out what really matters to me and where I need to be. So far, it was the best decision I ever made in my life. And this is to start the season, so this is amazing. I think she's gonna be a big addition.
B
100%. I agree.
A
Notable unsigned free agents are Natasha Cloud and Tina Charles. Do you have any thoughts on Tasha not being on a team?
B
I love Tosh. I really love Tosh.
A
And you guys played together, and we
B
played together in unrivaled, and so this really made me sad. I won't even lie, because I think Tasha's just. She's just so. She's just such a great teammate, and she wasn't unrivaled. And it's just, like, I want to see her on a team. And also, like, Tina Charles. I'm shocked. Tina was cooking last year. Like, Tina was literally cooking last year. I don't know. This. This is the part about it that really does suck. This. This part. It's hard.
A
Yeah. You know, obviously, I've played against Tina my entire Career. And so, you know, obviously she's still playing basketball. I think she was playing overseas this year in China or was she in Europe? I think she was in China this year. Tosh. I hope she gets picked up. Obviously. I think she especially raises her level of play. You always need a vet like that. A lot of people are asking whether it's her social, you know, advocacy and activism that is keeping her off a team. I hope not. I think the WNBA is about, you know, activism, and I know that they probably are confused as to why they're not signed yet. So we'll see. Like I said, never give up. Keep the grind going, and when you get the call, hopefully you're ready to do it. That's all advice. I know Tina signed with,
B
what, the
A
Connecticut sun last year? I think so she played for the Connecticut Sun. My theory is usually when you hit your third team, then that's when your career starts kind of going. And so far, that theory is pretty accurate. And it's really hard to find reasons why to hang it up, you know, especially in today's game and you want to go out on your own. But I just, you know, it.
B
It.
A
It's tough when you're balancing, like, whether to stop playing or whether to continue to play the game you love. So.
B
Yeah, well, Candace, hear me out. All this, like, free agency talk. Like, I just want to know you coming back, because I saw you was hooping and you posted that, like, I. Are you coming back?
A
I mean, that tween, like, girl, that
B
handle was something serious.
A
Yeah, that handle that was outside of my house. My sons aren't gonna remember that I played basketball, so I have to show them. I have to get them to talk crazy to me. But honestly, if I'm being real, I commentated the. The Clippers warriors game where Steph Curry went bananas in that fourth quarter and hit that step back and fell into the crowd. And I have never wanted to play basketball more than at that moment. Like, these playoffs, it's such a great experience. Like, D. Wade and I were calling a lot of games together. Kevin Harlan, shout out to Ali Clifton. I think we're the best. Honestly, it's the best crew that I could ever work with. I really, genuinely enjoy them. But the atmosphere when you go called the Denver T. Wolves game, it's like the atmosphere just makes you miss it. Like, I feel like I love basketball more than anything. I always lived in the moment and always loved playoffs. But, like, it makes me wish I loved it more. I can't explain it so after that Steph Curry crazy game, you were like,
B
this is my time to shine.
A
The next day. Yeah, I was supposed to get on the peloton and I was like, why? It's, it's a drag to me right now. I want to do cardio. So I just did a basketball workout in the backyard by myself and it was the most fulfilling moment. So I have a challenge for all the post ups to do something childlike because I think sometimes we forget to do that. Like in all seriousness. Or go run on the beach or do something fun.
B
Ride your bike, wear a small helmet.
A
Canis is proof you can wear a small helmet in my honor.
B
That you can.
A
Yes. No, but in all seriousness, like, it was cool. Yeah. A lot of people wanted to make comments.
B
Oh, Marina wants you to come back. You want to play for the tempo.
A
She is a guard that I wish I had played more with. She could shoot that thing. Chelsea Gray talking about a ten day D Wade. Tom, I'm locking that up. That's a lie because you know, I'll, I'll get him in the mid post and it will be over. Uh, but it was, it was really cool to, to, to have the, you know, have that moment and to be on the court. There's nothing like playing basketball. So don't take it for granted, Aaliyah. Cause otherwise I'm gonna come and knock you out.
B
No, no, please don't. Please don't. I will, I promise.
A
Okay. So over the course of training camp, slash, I think right when AZ got signed, a reporter asked Daisy Fudd about her relationship with Paige Beckers. But the Wings media team stepped in and said that they would not be commenting on their players personal lives. Lots of different responses on social media. A reporter got backlash saying it was inappropriate and others thought it was a fair question. You know, I think as we're going through this season, we're going to see that when you have, you know, more exposure and more cameras and lights, there are going to be questions like that. And it's going to be interesting how everyone navigates. I think you're going to have more things that are caught, you know, on social media. Whereas it was the Jackie and Dijonay Carrington where everybody was kind of piecing things together. Yeah. So I think it's going to be interesting and again, you can handle it the way you want to. Some people are open with their personal lives and some people aren't. Yeah, I think it is what it is. But in all seriousness, in the WNBA there are people that have, you know, Dated and been a part of it. It's the same, you know, Dejuana Bonner, Alyssa Thomas. Bam gets asked about Asia. You know, they asked. They asked Kayson Wallace about supporting his girlfriend Kiki Rice. So I don't think it's, like, a gay thing. So I don't know. Have you been asked personal questions?
B
No, I haven't.
A
No. On the stand, like, what? How would you handle it if I was like, hey, Aaliyah, who's the lucky person in your life? Like, how would you handle it?
B
Hey, Candace, I'm a single Pringle. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Works better that way when you don't have anyone.
A
To me, you're so annoying. You're so annoying.
B
I mean, it all depends on the question, but, I mean, I'd probably keep it very broad. Like, if that's the type of person I am, I'm just very broad if I don't want to answer it.
A
I do think it is, like, a little bit of, you know, figuring out how you want to handle it and just sticking with that. Like, nobody can make you talk about what you.
B
100%.
A
Your personal life.
B
Yeah.
A
And so there's a way to, like, handle that. I don't think it was wrong for the reporter to ask, but I respect the way AZ and the Wings handled it because they have the right to handle it the way they want to. I don't have to answer none of y' all questions. I'm here so I don't get fined. That's what I. That's what I wish you would have said.
B
That's my favorite line, actually.
A
Well, listen, there are a lot of relationships that all of us look to for motivation that are representation, are all of these things. And I think it's Olivia Dean that just basically talks about how, like, there's no lost love. Like, love is for a reason. Right. And I'm setting this up to say that Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe announced that they're breaking up.
B
Yeah.
A
And the Internet was in shambles. I think public couples like that, that represents so much. I think so many people feel like they're in their relationship. And they announced on A Touch More of the podcast that they do together that they're no longer going to be hosting together. Sue said her own post podcast, Bird's Eye View, will continue. And Megan announced she's doing a World cup series for A Touch More and will then be launching her own podcast this summer. They said that the decision wasn't easy, but was made with so much love, respect and care for each other. And I really value like how respectful they did it. They didn't hide it, they didn't try to like pretend and whatever they were, you know what I mean? And so, but the Internet, when I talk about they said LGBTQ plus flags are going to be flown at half staff. Like it's just the Internet was crazy. But you realize like how many, how much people look to relationships for love and motivation. So, so crazy. But I'm sad. But I also believe in like choosing happiness and what you know, you only get one life to live, so you got to do what makes you happy and what's best for both of you all. So I wish them nothing but the best. I love them so much. And the Internet needs to calm down. The transfer portal closes tonight and one of the biggest signings that we saw, or commits, I should say, is Audi Crooks to Oklahoma State. Did you see that one coming?
B
Yeah, no, I did not see that coming at all actually. At all. Actually.
A
Oklahoma State is making some noise though because they also signed Florida transfer Liv McGill, who's a guard that can, can pass a little bit. Audi Crooks was what, second leading scorer last season in the nation with 25.8 points per game. Obviously Florida has a new coaching staff and you know, is bringing in new players and in, In Florida, Liv McGill left and yeah, I mean she's a Hooper though.
B
She is cold. Like she can get anytime. She wants to get a bucket too.
A
No, she can pass too. And so it's going to be. I mean, obviously Audi Cricks wants to go somewhere with a good guard because as opposed player, you need good guards with you. So I will be, I will say I was a little surprised because I was thinking she was going to go to Notre Dame.
B
Yeah, I felt like there were a lot of eyes pointing to Notre Dame for sure, but.
A
Well, what about Jordan Lee, who is coming off of a Texas semifinal final four run? She's transferring to South Carolina. She's a 6 foot sophomore, averaging 13.2 points per game, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
B
And yeah, South Carolina, hey, we're, we're always on the up. Hey, but Tennessee's on the up. They got some signees. This is.
A
We have seven players. We have seven players on the roster now.
B
So we're making it. I mean, y' all making it. Cause I, I honestly, I can't really associate with that like orange and whatever y' all got going on over there, but whatever.
A
Roll the ball out man, hungriest team wins.
B
Roll the ball out. They still don't even have enough for a sub. And y' all know y' all be subbing. No, y' all know y' all be subbing fives. You don't even got enough. We could talk when y' all get three more. At least y' all can have a rotation.
A
That was pretty good. We can't even play five on five. That was pretty good. Pretty good.
B
Thank you. All right, y' all know we love a good game on post moves. And this week we're gonna try to guess the WNBA player based on their silhouette jump shot. We should be able to ace this. Come on.
A
But you know, the problem is sometimes the silhouette is backwards, so it looks like they're shooting left handed and they're actually right handed. So I just want to give you a little heads up on that. So let's guess it. Let's do it. Let's do it.
B
Let's do it. Start. Paige.
A
Yeah, that's definitely Paige. Beggars, especially with the arms back. Definitely Paige.
B
Yeah. 100.
A
Look at the arms back.
B
Bop. Okay, next one. Let's see.
A
Challenge us. Jackie Young.
B
That's good. That's. That's right. You look at that leg kick out.
A
That's Jackie Young. 100. Jackie Young right there.
B
That was really good.
A
She, like, puts it on her forehead. She always puts it on her forehead. She shoots. Sabrina.
B
Yep. Okay.
A
Gotta be Sabrina.
B
Yeah. Hey, Sabrina. Girl, we know that's you.
A
Yeah, that's definitely Serena. See the fall back a little bit. Oh, that's Caitlyn.
B
There's no way. There's no way. That is. Wait, that does not look like Caitlin. No, we need another one of Caitlyn. I'm sorry, are you going go back to the silhouette?
A
Oh, I think it's the ponytail that's throwing us off. Yeah, that's why it looks like Sabrina.
B
It does look like Sabrina's, like, ponytail, because I feel like that's actually so weird. That looked like Sabrina.
A
Yeah, it did look like Sabrina.
B
Sorry, wrong white girl.
A
Okay,
B
next.
A
Oh, that's Alyssa Thomas.
B
Y' all played next one.
A
Yeah, y' all really playing us. That's definitely Alyssa.
B
Damn, I can't believe we got Caitlyn wrong. That is heart been broke so many times, I don't know what to believe.
A
Okay, Lefty.
B
How many lefties we got? K. Mitch Skyler, Ariel Atkins, Kelsey Plum.
A
That's not Kelsey.
B
No, it's not.
A
It looks like a big. I don't know who's a Lefty, Big.
B
Connie Brown.
A
Satu.
B
Oh, okay. Is it Satu?
A
Is it Satu?
B
Asia. Oh my God. How did we.
A
We said there's so many. Who. Who's the lefty in the league and we forgot the mvp. This is crazy.
B
Wait, but you know when you said big and we said left that should have.
A
Yeah. And she shoots like that. Yeah, that was. That was really bad. And I didn't really feel sa. Like I just said it.
B
You just. She was.
A
Oh my God.
B
So four out of six. I mean, that was so bad. Stewie.
A
Yeah, that's definitely Stewie.
B
You see that bun?
A
Yeah. That bun move when she shoot?
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah, that's definitely stupid. Yeah, 100% definitely.
B
Dang. I can't believe we got Asia and Caitlyn wrong. That's.
A
Yeah, we have. I'm mad at myself for Asia, but Sabrina was not a bad pick. Like I probably would have picked that.
B
No, you're right. You're right.
A
It's time for our driver's seat moment of the week presented by Volkswagen, where we spotlight someone who stepped up, seized the moment and delivered this week is Brianna Stewart in the driver's seat. If you remember, back in February, Stewie signed a short term deal to return to the Turkish club Fenerbahce for the EuroLeague Women's Final Six in April. Yo, get that bag. Go play two games. Get back to the States. We'll will say it's safe to say it paid off. Fenerbache capped off the 2526 year league season with an 6855 win over Galateseri in an all Turkish final. In just her second game back with the club, Stewie added nine points to help secure their third title in four seasons. It's familiar territory for Stewie. She also helped Fenerbahce win its first year league title during the 2223 season. And she adds another accolade to an already stacked year. Coming off an unrivaled championship with the Mist, Stewie is now a three time year league champion in 20, 21, 23 and 26. Yeah.
B
I mean, what doesn't still, we do
A
get that bag now. That roster for Fenerbahce was actually crazy. If you look at it, it's like Emma Miesiman. It was Gabby Williams. Like there's everybody.
B
That's actually odd.
A
Yeah, it was actually insane. But congrats.
B
Dewey.
A
Stay in that driver's seat. Just not in preseason because you play.
B
No, genuinely though, Saturday or regular season if you don't mind.
A
Really? Or playoffs. Right?
B
Yeah. Yeah.
A
So you want her to just be in the driver's seat for now, because you can.
B
Yeah, that's cool.
A
You know what we were talking about earlier? Just like first impressions and reading people. It's funny because you can always tell when someone actually wants to be there. Like at practice, a workout, whatever it is, there's always that one person who's locked in, asking questions, bringing energy, and you're like, yeah, all right, I want that person around.
B
Right? You don't even have to guess.
A
It just shows exactly. That kind of energy stands out. If you're hiring, you want a candidate who's passionate about your role. Okay, first question is from the Harmon fam. Who is your dream guest for your podcast?
B
So everyone, I feel like everyone knows this answer. It's Kerry Washington.
A
Oh, I like that.
B
And I like, I literally dream for Ms. Carrie to be here. Like what I talked to her all day about, about Scandal, like a girl. Tell me more.
A
Scandal is such a great show. I might actually re watch it.
B
No, you should.
A
Yeah. Dream guest for the podcast would be, I mean, Jay Z. I'm just gonna throw that out there. Jay Z would be a dream guest for sure.
B
Okay, that's really solid. I mean, not really better than Kerry Washington, but I'll let you have it for. I'll let you have it. All right, next question is from Clarissa6561. What's one skill you wish players coming into league actually prioritize more coming out of college?
A
I think one skill set is like just student of the game because I think a lot of it has to do with like reads. And so if you don't watch basketball and you don't no good offense. That to me is like, you gotta know when you know a person is going over on a screen, you gotta hold it a little longer because you'll have more time to set up, you know, the defense to keep em on your back. You have to know like just little stuff like that that I think is just knowledge that will help you get an extra step ahead. But if you don't watch basketball, then
B
that's actually a very great answer. So I'm gonna double down on that because. No, seriously, like, I love watching film and like before I came to the W, like I watched a whole bunch of the W. But sometimes you talk to some college players and they don't really watch the W, they just want to go to the W. So it's always. And then you get there and then like some of the concepts are kind of foreign. But then also to add, I wish that some of the college coaches would use some of like the terminology that like you. Because I mean, you talk to W coaches like you're around people like, you know how they talk, what they like, start implementing that into how you coach. Like it's this, it's like just different words, you know what I'm saying? Which I think would be great. It'll help your transition a lot better.
A
But I agree, I agree. Next question is from icolemadison9916. What are you guys thoughts on undrafted players and their chances of eventually landing on a team?
B
Yeah, I mean, I feel like when you go undrafted, one, it's about stay like, keep working. Because you never know who will call your phone and pick you up on every. On any given day. So I feel like that's the biggest thing. It's just, you just gotta keep working if you get a chance. Like if you play overseas, get that film, allow coaches to see you and hopefully you get picked up.
A
The hardest thing is to continue to work when you have no stopping point or like end game. But that's what you have to do. You have to continue to work and put the time in and you be ready when your name is called. And so with that being said, I think that we look and look so much on like, oh, they were drafted number whatever or they were drafted whatever. This is the long game. So you know, who knows somebody that's undrafted, like an Erica Wheeler that ends up continuing to stick with it and then now like what she's doing with her career. So I think just all the undrafted players out there continue to keep hope alive and, you know, work on your craft. That is a wrap on this week's episode of Post Moves. Thanks for tuning in.
