Aaliyah Boston
Okay, how many career ejections do you have?
Draymond Green
I have.
Candace Parker
Okay, wait, wait, wait. A hint. Rasheed wallace has 29.
Draymond Green
I think I'm at, like, 24 with
Aaliyah Boston
the latest rejection answer is 25.
Candace Parker
Damn. You're right on it.
Draymond Green
Okay. Okay, so I got. I got three more to play with. I cannot pass. She. I got three more to play with. All right, I'll be my favorite.
Candace Parker
Some people would get this in a certain way. Draymond. Like, I got three more to play with.
Aaliyah Boston
That's actually so crazy.
Candace Parker
Like, that is my favorite light line from this. I got three more to play with. What's up, everyone? And welcome back to Post Moves. I'm Candice Parker, here with my co hosts, Aaliyah Boston.

Candace Parker
Yeah, we have a great combo with Dre, so y' all stay tuned. You know, we.
Aaliyah Boston
We.
Candace Parker
We talk a little NBA. We gotta. We believe in equality, so we gotta bring on some, you know, NBA guys. So how.
Aaliyah Boston
Candace, I have to say, though, I have to say, I'm. I have to say, like, your bun looks great. Yeah, I was kind of hoping that you'd come back with, like, your backwards hat swagger. Like, I want you to know the comments, like, loved it.
Candace Parker
Wait, what?
Aaliyah Boston
So, yes, they loved the backwards hat.
Candace Parker
Uhoh. I definitely thought it gave certain vibes, but I guess. I guess those vibes that they were giving were great vibes. I went blonde because I got back from Cabo and I was tan, but now Kia Copper likes to call me Sugar Cookie when I get really light bright. And so I'm starting to return to my light bright status. So I'm going to have to go in the sun again, especially with this
Aaliyah Boston
blonde and just the fix.
Candace Parker
But blondes do have more fun, just FYI. I just want to tell you, so if you ever need a little bit more fun in your life, just put a little streak in there. It'll. It'll definitely happen.
Aaliyah Boston
Do you think. Do you think I have a hair appointment before our season opener? Do you think I should, like, add a little color in my hair?
Candace Parker
I definitely think you should add color, especially if you ask.
Aaliyah Boston
I've been going back, and please add, like, should I, like, bring some color?
Candace Parker
I was thinking, but I was like,
Aaliyah Boston
is that Too much. Like, because, you know, I've been all black for a hot minute.
Candace Parker
Like it's. You need black on, please.
Aaliyah Boston
I feel like the Post UPS also need to decide if they think.
Candace Parker
Okay, let's do a poll. I love a good poll. Like we actually took a Post UPS poll last week about who is buying dinner, me or you, which. The Spider Ram team was amazing. So can we see the results of who should buy dinner, please? Baby, I feel like it's going to be you. Yes. Huh.
Aaliyah Boston
Wait, what happened?
Candace Parker
You got the bag. It's perfect.
Aaliyah Boston
Wait, how did we get here?
Candace Parker
Cuz you got the bag. So therefore, you know, they must have thought the name. You have to take me to dinner. Help me. I'm poor. Leila went on her junior prom.
Aaliyah Boston
Oh my gosh. Period baddy o'.
Candace Parker
Clock. She went with a date feel as she should. Yeah, I cried. Thug tears. I'm not gonna lie. When your baby, that is supposed to still be your baby goes to prom and you see her get all dressed up and she looks all grown up and she's.
Aaliyah Boston
Oh, that was like such a cute photo.
Candace Parker
Yeah, that's my baby. Like, it's just crazy. And then she got her makeup all done and her hair. She had to leg out the lit. Like she made alterations to the dress and our tailor came and did the whole thing. And so it was just her whole vision coming to life. And then of course, my entire village showed up and sent her off to prom. So her date. Her date knew that we rolling and that we have people.
Aaliyah Boston
I saw.
Candace Parker
Yeah, we got people we could call.
Aaliyah Boston
See. See? Why would you say that?
Candace Parker
I'm just saying I was trying to do like the Bad Boys. He was like when the Bad Boys the movie. When the guy came and Martin Lawrence and. Yeah, but yeah, that. That's what I. I don't care if I'm her mom. That's how I roll. That's what it is.
Aaliyah Boston
What I loved was as you swiped Goose was in the background.
Candace Parker
That kid.
Aaliyah Boston
No, he's actually.
Candace Parker
So when I tell you that we.
Aaliyah Boston
He's like. As if you are for like you won't let him out.
Candace Parker
Is one of the funniest kids. And I only put one tenth of the funny, like hilarious things. He was in the bushes before this picture. He was gritting. He was telling sister that she looked beautiful and then asking her to tell him, hey, I look beautiful. Yeah, it was. It was insane. It was insane.
Aaliyah Boston
Candace, we saw that you asked D. Wade to walk you into the hall of Fame. Like that was Pretty dope. That was like. That was really dope.
Candace Parker
You know what was really funny was I was talking to my family on FaceTime and my family was like, yeah, that's so awesome. You know, D, Wade's walking you into the hall of Fame. And my sister was like, I was mad and I was like, why? And she was like, cuz you have a dad and two brothers and you don't want them to act walk you into the hall of Fame. And then Anthony was like, you have to be in the hall of Fame to walk somebody into the hall. So then Tammy was like, oh. Because she really took offense to it. It was hilarious. Um, yeah, I mean, no brainer. D. Wade is one of my favorite people, one of my favorite teammates, a big supporter of me and my life, throughout my life. He's that big brother. So I just. It was really cool to have that moment to be able to hand him the card and him be that excited. And I don't know, I just love. I love. I love amazing teammates. So it was. It was special for me, so.
Aaliyah Boston
All right, well, it's time for our fresh take of the week, presented by Wendy's. Wendy's new spicy chicken sandwich is crispier, crunchier, and more flavor packed than ever. Wendy's. We're so back. Okay, so here's my first take, which I know people feel a certain way about this, but I think dogs should be allowed to sleep in the bed. It's like, I get it now. If you have a dirty dog, one that's on you, right? And then number two, like, you can wipe their paws down, clean them after they come back from a walk. But it's like, why would you not want to snuggle with your dog? Like, come here, Oswald. Come here. Like, are you telling me he shouldn't be on my.
Candace Parker
Oh, my God.
Aaliyah Boston
Oh, hi, Ozzy. And you know, I have. I do have a blanket on top of my bed. So Ozzy sleeps, like, on the blanket so his, like, air doesn't get everywhere. But look at my Oswald.
Candace Parker
Can I confess something? Can I confess something?
Aaliyah Boston
Yes.
Candace Parker
All three of my dogs sleep on my bed. All three of my dogs. This one right here. This one right here, be in the sheets. And I don't care because he is a Dawson. He loves snuggling. I love snuggling. He sleeps at my feet.
Aaliyah Boston
Yes.
Candace Parker
And if you don't. If you don't allow dogs in your bed, you're not allowed in my bed. Like, it's just. That's how I. That's How I roll. So I.
Aaliyah Boston
Because why would you not.
Candace Parker
Why would you not want to be happy? I don't understand. They just bring happiness. But I will say that because my dogs sleep in my bed. My. My bed is a 11 by 12 foot bed. So none of us touch if we don't want to touch. Kids. Dogs, everybody can. Well, my kids don't be in my bed, but my daughter did. But my son's. Nah. But, like, yeah, my dogs all be in the bed. So post ops, please hit us up, because to me, it's you. If you don't allow dogs in your bed, like, you're part of the problem.
Aaliyah Boston
Yes. No, I agree.
Candace Parker
This is the first time we are agreeing.
Aaliyah Boston
Yeah, look at us. All right, it's time for what we want to talk about. And, Candace, you know me. Like, I hope that you would consider me just like, someone that's just, like, so considerate, someone that's just super nice and always wants you to, like, know how important your thoughts were. So with that being said, I wasn't sure if you remember the thoughts you had on Big O. Baby, did you remember that? Do you remember those thoughts you had on Big O? Well, if you don't, we can watch the clip before I go into it. Let's play that clip, if we don't mind.
Candace Parker
I think Olivia was a huge plus when we signed her. I was there, actually, on her visit. Where is she gonna go?
Aaliyah Boston
Well, I have a. Ow. Suggestion.
Candace Parker
No, she's not going to South Carolina. She not going to South.
Aaliyah Boston
And you double down, even. Oh, sorry. I was dancing to the music. Candace. What was that, sweetheart? Where she go? Usc. Go Cox. Cocks up, baby. Hey, hey.
Candace Parker
Look at her.
Aaliyah Boston
She's so happy. Man, I'm so sorry you had to go through that Q Rod wave. Harping broke so many times, I don't know what to believe. But guess what? What mama said. Mama said is my. Well, it's actually not my fault. If anything, it's go Gamecocks. Like, so how are you feeling? Are you okay? I mean, good news is she's still in the sec, so you will see her dominate your Lady Volt. So, like, I know how hard that must be for you as you prep for this, but if you need anything, I'm here. I am the shoulder you can cry on.
Candace Parker
Congratulations to Big O. She's a part of the Adidas family. So I do want to say congrats, because I think everybody should be on their own journey. Thank you for making my life miserable because I have to hear AALIYAH and Tennessee has to play against you, so. No, but in all seriousness, like, I feel like everybody should go to the fit that they feel. I also feel like you have the right and reserve the right to change your mind when things go a different direction. I have done that a number of times where I've changed my mind. I've changed teams, both literally and figuratively. Did you get it?
Aaliyah Boston
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Candace Parker
But with that being said, South Carolina's looking pretty good. Next year. We'll see y' all get to the finals. Y' all get to the Final Four every year. See if y' all come. Listen, if you're not first, you last.
Aaliyah Boston
I was just.
Candace Parker
And the word.
Aaliyah Boston
Like, at least you could qualify. Like, at least we qualified. Me. You ain't even get. You ain't even. You barely qualified. You was just scraping on by.
Candace Parker
Not first, you last. In the words of Ricky Bobby. But South Carolina got height next year. Average player, six foot two. Everyone but one player is sick. Six foot or taller. So Don basically is like, I'm short, so everybody else that I hang around with, everybody I recruit gonna be tall. Wait, run that back. What is Tessa listed at? Is Tessa six foot?
Aaliyah Boston
What is he at?
Candace Parker
Yes. About to say, dang, Maddie, pull your weight.
Aaliyah Boston
I know Maddie. She gotta step it up. No, she has to step it up.
Candace Parker
The only player under six foot. But no, congrats. And honestly, again, as a post player, if you're looking at a program to go to, to be a good post player, I mean, two of those players that went to South Carolina just got bags in the wnba. So maybe a little. Maybe a little foreshadowing. Maybe a little foreshadowing. We're going to talk about your preseason game. Switching subjects. Gladly. Your preseason game against the New York Liberty. You did not play. You had your lower leg. As the reasoning behind not playing. Lexi hall, hamstring. Ty Harris, knee fever, 1109 91. Who impressed you the most?
Aaliyah Boston
Honestly, I want to say, like, the newbies, I think the rookies, they came out, they hooped, obviously. We know Kelsey, Sophie, like, they played great. Cee played great. You know, they usually do their thing, but I think for the Rooks just coming in and being able to just play, and they look so free, like they were fighting their shot in the offense on the defensive end, finding themselves with the pace of the game, like, I. You know, when you're in training camp, it's always like, okay, we're playing kind of fast. Then you get out there, and sometimes it's. It Feels even faster in front of a crowd. And so I was really proud. I was really proud of the Rooks. I thought they did great. Jt, just raised in Kayana did great. She's not a rookie, but, like, new to the team. Meg did great. So it was just, it was just so good. Tori killed it, though. Tori had a great game, big and won.
Candace Parker
So it's always interesting. It's always interesting for me in preseason because a lot of these players come out and they play really well and you're like, hey, guess what? When we get back, you're not going to have the ball like that.
Draymond Green
So.
Candace Parker
So how are you going to cut off of us and whatever. But it's really great to see in preseason like that feel good and that, like, oh, man, this player is really going to be able to do that. And then you're like, wait a second. But then the ball is going to be in Kaylin's hands, Aaliyah's hands, someone else's hands. Yes. So it's just, it's a feel good moment in, in preseason. But on the other side, six foot eleven, Han.
Aaliyah Boston
Oh, my gosh. Han. I mean, Han. Han was hooping. Okay. Han shot the three ball. I mean, her efficiency. I mean, she got a quick turnaround jumper.
Candace Parker
You got a turnaround jump shot at
Aaliyah Boston
6 foot 11, turnaround fade. It's like, who's even getting there?
Candace Parker
Yeah, nobody. Other notable games. Vegas beat the Japan national team in their preseason. Kennedy Carter looked really good. I thought that that was an underrated pickup. I said that initially when the signings happened, she had 18 points, five rebounds, two assists. Literally, she's going to be in the game just to get a bucket and then she's going to go sit down. Then she's going to come back in the game just to get a bucket. And it is going to be. Yeah, it's going to be crazy to watch. I saw Cheryl Miller was at the Fever practice. How was that?
Aaliyah Boston
Yeah, she was.
Candace Parker
It was great.
Aaliyah Boston
It was great to have her sitting down, chatted up a little bit, just talking to her. I mean, she's excited. She looked at our pace and she was like, oh, you guys are going to place fast. And I was like, yeah, we're gonna get over. Down that floor.
Candace Parker
So that was really amazing. Obviously, she's gonna be a studio analyst for NBC. So she's making her way through different teams, training camps. Saw her in Vegas, I saw her in Dallas. So Cheryl Miller, she making her way downtown, making.
Aaliyah Boston
I know.
Candace Parker
See what I did there. Saw you at media day.
Aaliyah Boston
Making away.
Candace Parker
Saw your media day.
Aaliyah Boston
Yeah. Is that kind of cute?
Candace Parker
Stunning. Oh, wow. We got the like, shoulder look kind of really pretty.
Aaliyah Boston
Like, is it, is it giving, like, bad?
Candace Parker
How you doing? Like this? Is that what you're supposed to do?
Aaliyah Boston
See?
Candace Parker
Okay, Slay.
Aaliyah Boston
See?
Candace Parker
Now you know, like, tell me I look cute.
Aaliyah Boston
Tell me I look cute.
Candace Parker
Candace slogan. You guys, you look beautiful.
Aaliyah Boston
Now you know.
Candace Parker
Now you know is the slogan.
Aaliyah Boston
Thank you so much.
Candace Parker
So how do you say it? Now you know, I don't like how you said that. I don't like how you said that at all. Now you know, I also saw Caitlyn post a pic of Stephanie White and
Aaliyah Boston
oh my gosh, that was so funny. In her full it like Steph.
Candace Parker
And she quoted. Why is she in the full practice fit? I'm scared.
Aaliyah Boston
No, because that was funny. Because like, Steph, come on.
Candace Parker
I mean, a coach can't be in a full fit.
Aaliyah Boston
No, because why are you in the full outfit?
Candace Parker
What's wrong with that? It's like kind of. It's kind of like the coaches, if they wore like the baseball full. We gotta.
Aaliyah Boston
For no reason, though, once again, we
Candace Parker
got a little taste of that.
Aaliyah Boston
Wow. I mean, did you enjoy media days?
Candace Parker
Well, back in my dinosaur days, media days were not what they are now. Media days were dinosaurs. We got ready in the basement in a closet of a high school gym and you know, we had a lot of media, but it was just not as fun as it seems to be now.
Aaliyah Boston
Media days are.
Candace Parker
Yeah, they are a little long.
Aaliyah Boston
They're like, dude, we were, we were there for. I worked a 10 to 5 that day, man. I worked at 10 to 5. And then, you know when you do take all your pictures sometimes like at the closest end of it, you're like, so now I don't know how they came out, to be honest. Like after, after one o'.
Candace Parker
Clock.
Aaliyah Boston
I genuinely don't know how the pictures came out. But. Hey, Oswald, not the time. I don't know how the pictures came out.
Candace Parker
Well, the worst part is when you have. When your coach like makes you practice and have media day, but then they even is where they consider that your off day. That's all like, no, that is because,
Aaliyah Boston
you know, right there, our media day. Because they come in for one hour.
Candace Parker
Do you want to know what my. Because this is my definition of an off day. Because they would try to do a travel day as an off day. So my definition of an off day is where I don't see you and you don't see Me. And if I see you, I choose to see you. That is an off day. And if that and media day, you did not choose to go to. So I'm on your side. I'm on your side. The Fever have all 44 of the regular season games on national TV this year, the most nationally televised games. So you have 44, Wings have 36, Liberty have 35, Aces have 33, and Sparks have 31. Slay.
Aaliyah Boston
Yeah, as we should.
Candace Parker
100%.
Aaliyah Boston
Well, listen, listen. Having all 44 games is pretty fire, but also, you know, we're going to be on prime. We're going to be on prime. Turn the club up, huh?
Candace Parker
Look at that. We're excited.
Aaliyah Boston
Look who's at the top, baby. Look who's at the top. Candace Parker, kid. Well, actually, I was going away from it, so you couldn't really probably hear Parker, but Candace Parker. Candace Parker. Are you going to talk like, good about me?
Candace Parker
This is my first opportunity to do WNBA games. I'm excited as a studio analyst and in game play by play or in game analysts with play by play. So basically it's myself, Swin Michael Grady, doing play by play and it's on air. Roster also includes Cynthia Cooper, Teresa Weatherspoon, Lindsey Harding, Carol Lawson, Lachina Robinson and Ty Young. Amazon's gonna have 31 national televised games. Eight of those are Fever games. So we are excited. Our studio is state of the art and I'm excited to get on the road. To be honest with you, I really like end games because you get the. You get the vibe. You get all that. So I'm.
Aaliyah Boston
Do you know what you should do? Like, when you do my games like that, you should just like text me at half and be like, hey, you should do this.
Candace Parker
That would be showing a bias, which when I'm calling the game, I don't show bias. Foreign.
Aaliyah Boston
It's not showing a bias. It's just like, it's just gonna be
Candace Parker
hard because there's so many comments that I make to certain players about tendencies because how many times do I hit you and be like, yo, you know what she like to do, right? Yeah, I'm gonna have to be chill. But yeah, no, I'm really, really excited. Yeah. So in other news, Asia Wilson kind of went viral over rocking white socks with black shirt in that combo.
Aaliyah Boston
That's something you do.
Candace Parker
I literally was just sitting at home minding my own business, right? And I catch. I catched shot out to Tennessee. I caught astray. Literally caught astray. All black and white socks.
Draymond Green
Get it?
Candace Parker
What Is going on fast flag fast.
Draymond Green
She saying I got bad swag.
Aaliyah Boston
Granted it is, but it all depends on who rocking and I feel like I can rock it. It's fire. She really don't know. She don't know who she talking about. She just mad that she can't rock up girl don't ever play with.
Candace Parker
But I was just minding my business at home and.
Aaliyah Boston
No, you did catch a stray though. I don't. You didn't even. It was, it was.
Candace Parker
How did I catch a stray? I was just. Again, I haven't played in three years.
Aaliyah Boston
Yeah, but I think you were actually, you probably were. The starter pack, this is actually probably defined as the Candace Parker starter pack.
Candace Parker
I don't like people coming at me and saying they rocking it better. That that made me want to take off my jacket and lace it back up and then zip my jacket back up and sit down on a baseline. All right, we have talked about quite a bit. I think it's time that we bring on our guest. He's a four time NBA champion, four time all star, two time all NBA team member, a nine time probably 10 time all defensive team member and a two time Olympic gold medalist. Please welcome Draymond Green. You know what's funny about summer? The celebration doesn't start when you show up. It starts way before that. It's the group chat, lighting up, the invites, rolling in and then that moment hits. What am I wearing to all of this? Because the outfit, that's part of the confidence. That's why I like what Macy's is doing right now. They're really focused on that before moment. They've got personal stylists you can book for free and they'll help you pull together full looks head to toe. So you're not guessing, you're walking in ready. And I'm still a fan of going in store, trying things on, actually building the outfit. They've got everything from that easy golden hour glow vibe to bold, fun summer looks. So whatever your energy is, you can find it. So I gotta ask, what are you most excited for this summer and what's the one event you need a look for? Because if you feel good before you even get there, you're already winning. Back in 1995, Wendy's invented the iconic spicy chicken sandwich. Built from scratch, they perfected the balance of heat and flavor in every bite. So yeah, Wendy's set the standard, but standards don't stand still.
Aaliyah Boston
So in 2026, they're going back back to the flavor, back to the quality and Back to the kitchen to make the sandwich that started it all better. Meet the new spicy chicken sandwich. Same iconic sandwich from Wendy's. Now even more iconic.
Candace Parker
We're talking a bold blend of nine peppers and spices. And the breading, even crispier than before, golden and glistening with that signature spice blend. Crispier, crunchier, and even more flavorful than ever. All cooled down with some pickles, tomato, mayo, because you deserve more from your chicken sandwich.
Aaliyah Boston
Being the first was one thing, but being the best, that's a Wendy's thing. So don't just take their word for it. Consider this your official invitation. Come see, come compare, come taste. Trust them. You're going to have to eat it to believe it. 2026 quality is our recipe, LLC. Boom.
Candace Parker
Chicken bop. These days, it's easy to sit back and just let life happen. You get comfortable, and suddenly you're just moving on autopilot.
Aaliyah Boston
But drivers aren't like everyone else. They see and do things differently.
Candace Parker
They live life by their own rules, and they certainly don't follow the crowd.
Aaliyah Boston
That's why this is a reminder for me from Volkswagen and from drivers everywhere to actually take control.
Candace Parker
Make the most of every day. Take your own path.
Aaliyah Boston
Grab the wheel. Get in the driver's seat of your own life.
Candace Parker
Because, honestly, what are you waiting for?
Aaliyah Boston
Head over to vw.com and see what's waiting for you.
Candace Parker
Aaliyah has issues with disciplining her dog.
Aaliyah Boston
I'm working on parenting.
Candace Parker
Every now and again, her dog is. He barks and messes up a bunch of stuff.
Aaliyah Boston
I'm working on parenting, but it's like, how do you yell at him? Are you kidding me? Look at that face. No, you can't.
Candace Parker
That's what that's called. It's called discipline.
Draymond Green
Yeah, yeah.
Candace Parker
All discipline.
Draymond Green
Well, Dre, cuter they are. You still gotta.
Candace Parker
That's the problem. That's the problem. Dre, thank you so much for joining us today. We got a post player on a post Move.
Aaliyah Boston
Yes.
Candace Parker
We banged it. We did.
Draymond Green
I appreciate y' all having me.
Candace Parker
Yeah, no problem. First, I want to get your take.
Draymond Green
Hall of Famer, hall of Famer.
Candace Parker
I appreciate it. I appreciate it.
Draymond Green
To the hall of Famer.
Aaliyah Boston
Yes.
Draymond Green
Candice getting the bag. Congratulations to you, y'. All.
Candace Parker
See?
Aaliyah Boston
How are you?
Candace Parker
This dude. This dude. Listen, you. You got more championships than both of us combined. So you cool. You sitting real pretty. But thoughts, thoughts so far, you let us right into it on your, you know, your biggest takeaways of the playoffs. The NBA playoffs. Cause, you know, you got to specify we got a WNBA audience. So the NBA playoffs. What's your biggest takeaway thus far?
Draymond Green
Man, I don't see anyone beating okc. They're just like a well oiled machine. You know, I see Phoenix complaining about the foul calls like, so while you sit and complain about foul calls, they just gonna get at you like, I don't see anybody beating them. And I'm, I've been thoroughly impressed and enjoying watching Bron just control the entire game. Like entire series, the whole pace of the game. I've just been thoroughly enjoying watching.
Candace Parker
Are you a little disappointed because. I must say I'm a little disappointed because I was looking forward to KD and LeBron show showdown. Obviously, KD has been ruled out for, you know, I believe the next game was ruled out for game four, in which, you know, Houston was able to push it to five. But are you a little disappointed? Because that's kind of like the foundation of that era of, of basketball, 1,000%.
Draymond Green
I, I'm. It's, it's disappointing because number one, like, I know how much he love it, you know, like, he played 78 games this year in year 18. Like, back to backs, all of that. Like, and so to see him get to this point, and I don't know what happened with the Knick thing, but I imagine he heard it in practice, right? And then, you know, then you off that and you had an ankle. Like, it's disappointing to see him go through this. I think as a basketball fan, it's disappointing because the reality is this may be the last time we see this. Bron could retire after this year. I would not be surprised if he retired.
Candace Parker
Dre, get out of here saying this for four years. Ain't no way Bron is retiring after this year.
Draymond Green
I don't think so. But what if he do, you know, like, we just don't know how long we have left or they meet. Do they meet in the playoffs again? Like, we just don't know how many of them we have left. And for me, that was a part of some of the best matchups of those two against each other. Right. Like, you would kind of like to see it at this stage, you know, both of them still playing at a very high level, but it's a little different now, you know, like, and so I would have, you know, when KD did play, he came out guarding Braun. Right. Like, I, like, I would have loved to see that. So it is a bit disappointing from that aspect.
Candace Parker
100%. Who's coming out of the east, who's Coming out of the east to get their ass kicked by okc.
Draymond Green
That's wild. That is wild.
Candace Parker
I mean, am I lying, though?
Draymond Green
Well, I think. I think ironically, I think Boston's coming out of the East.
Aaliyah Boston
Really?
Draymond Green
I don't like, who's going to beat
Candace Parker
them, like, in a seven game.
Draymond Green
Like, who's like. Because you have to remember this. You know, I love my Pistons. I always root for the Pistons, but Boston know how to do it. And there's always something like, this is like, the Pistons, they let it get away from them last year. They should have beat the Knicks. I feel like they won four games in that series, and somehow they only came out with two wins.
Candace Parker
Yeah, Game six, you know, like, game two.
Draymond Green
Yeah. Like, so that was their chance to, like, really gain ground. Right. Like, I think now they're in a dog fight with the Magic. I think they'll still win that series, but, hey, hold on.
Candace Parker
That's a family affair. Chill out, Chill out. Chill out with the Magic.
Draymond Green
I mean, you know, I definitely think they're going to win that series. Like, but right now, the back's against the wall. How do you fight when you're back against the wall? They have not been in this position where you supposed to win, but now you're back against the wall. They haven't been there. Right. So I just think when all of these teams meet Boston, like JT and jb, they just know how to do it. Peyton Pritchard and Derrick White know how to do it. And that matters when you're trying to win in the playoffs.
Candace Parker
It does. It does. Especially having Tatum back for the cushion amount of time where he came back to the end of the season, worked his way back in, and now is playing really well.
Draymond Green
He look like Jason Tatum?
Candace Parker
No, he does. He does. He does. And I was doubting whether it was healthy for him to come back, but obviously, man, he looks good.
Draymond Green
Yes, he does.
Candace Parker
I know Aaliyah and myself wanna. Wanna shift to the warriors, obviously. I came on the podcast Hype after the Clippers game. I called your Clippers game, and there was a moment during the game where I looked at you and you looked back at me and you like, we about to do this. And this is the 9 10. This is why the NBA has a plan scenario is because it is two of some of the best basketball. I mean, just. Yeah, insane going at it. Every possession matters. Game 7 scenario right off the bat.
Draymond Green
Yep.
Candace Parker
So to watch what you all did, where you all were down pretty much the entire game, but the Clippers could Not lay the knockout punch. Yeah, they couldn't lay it. And so I remember looking at you early in the fourth quarter, and you were like, yeah, we about to do that. And you came down, you got a big stop on Kawhi. Kawhi had two points. That was wild. So can you just take me through the discussions in the locker room? Because it is really unbelievable to sit courtside and watch what you all have done for a decade or more in this league. And obviously it was in the 910 scenario, but you guys have done that time and time again.
Draymond Green
Yeah, 1,000%, I think. That's what. I think that's what also made that game feel much bigger than a 910 game. Because, like, when you see us doing it, it's not like, oh, they just doing that because this, the 910 game, you know, like, it's us versus Kawhi. Like, you've seen that matchup in the NBA Finals. Like, and so when you're watching it, it's not giving you like, oh, man, these two teams that didn't have great years fighting to get in the playoffs, it's giving you like, yo, you're watching these dudes do this again. And that was the feeling I think we had in it. It's like, man, it just felt like such a big game. Like, it's us, you know, Steph, myself, Al Horford, who's been at the level, you know, Porzingis, who's been at the level, it's us. And then you got Kawhi, who we know has been at the level, but you got T. Lou and Steve, who done had this coaching battle in NBA Finals. You know, they've both won championships. Like, you know, all of this whole makeup of cast of characters has been at the level. So when you're watching it, it's giving you a sense of like, oh, they know what this means, right? Like, they know what it means to every possession you dialed in, trying to get something out of this possession. Like, it was a high level. Like you said, game seven, like, atmosphere of guys that know how to do game sevens. And so, you know, we're going through it, and the whole time, Steve's just telling us, like, yo, this. This team can't beat us. Like, you know, we. We're going to do this. He's. He's in the. Kawhi is a tough, tough guard, and he's. We're in practice the two days leading up to it, right? And he's just like, yeah, well, if some. I'm sorry, I'm Getting a hug.
Candace Parker
Don't apologize. My kids interrupt our podcast. And obviously, Aaliyah's dog interrupts. Oh, my goodness.
Draymond Green
You say hi.
Candace Parker
Hi, My mom.
Draymond Green
And she's off.
Candace Parker
Yep.
Draymond Green
All right. Thank you. Thank you for my love. And, you know, so we're going through the game plan, and Steve's just like, yeah, well, we want to guard this like this in all these situations, but when Draymond gonna just take him out, like. And if they set a screen, you want your coverage to be this, but Draymond gonna blow the screen up, so it ain't going to really be the coverage. You're going to have to end up guarding it like this. And everything he's saying is just like, yeah, we good, because we know what we need to do down here, and this is the things we're going to run offensively, but defensively, Draymond's going to take him out. Like, this is just how he's talking the two days leading up to it. So we're going in. And the, like, the responsibility that I felt in having to do this, he put the battery in my back. And it was honestly the conviction that he was speaking with. I've been in these situations with Steve time and time again. The conviction that he was speaking with about me defensively, I just hadn't. I had. I mean, he's always been like, draymond, you are a great defender. He would say that, but I had just never heard him speak with such conviction. And so I went into that game with, like, the utmost confidence, but also feeling the utmost responsibility to do and prove him right in everything that he's told the guys.
Aaliyah Boston
I want to ask. So Candace, she calls me a hack. Okay. Candace always says that all I do foul, which I don't think so. Like, she.
Candace Parker
Out of two games, she had two
Aaliyah Boston
games one time, and all of a
Candace Parker
sudden, you're foul every year.
Aaliyah Boston
Hold on, though. It's fine. You know what? We can ignore that part, because that's not really, like, the important factor in all that, because I am doing my thing. Okay. But I watch a lot of your clips, so I watch, like, your passing. And, like, I'll watch before games, after games, you're in practices and, like, even your defensive, like, where you are, like, how active you are, like, what's really your mindset? Like, that's where I'm trying to get to, where I don't foul and they don't call anything because I feel like my mindset now. I'm turning the podcast into stuff. Tips for me now, so I hope that's okay, Candace. But like, what. What's like, your mindset and like, when you're guarding, like, all these tough bigs, I mean, like, what do you. Like, how do you do it all the time?
Draymond Green
So I think number one is what I was taught at a very young age is low man wins, you know, so as I'm guarding these bigs, if I can get lower than you, I'm a. How I'm had leverage, you know, and so that's number one. I think number two as a defender is. And so important you must understand tendencies. Like, you're still very young in the league. The faster you can understand tendencies of the tough. Like, listen, I watch a bunch of basketball, right? All I sit here and do is watch playoff games. So I'm going to understand everybody's tendencies because. But like, you want to be a great defender, cp, hall of Famer, great defender, right? Like, you must understand, towards the end,
Candace Parker
I was like, can we get. Could you say that. Could you say that into the mic with your chest, say that
Draymond Green
you were a great RIM protector. And people get defensive player of the year for being RIM protectors. And you at an elite level, you were that at an elite level, right? I think so. But understanding tendencies is because you want to. Like, the offense is in control. So I need to be a step ahead of you. And the only way I can do that is to understand, you know, what you're doing.
Aaliyah Boston
Yeah.
Draymond Green
You know, and so I understand tendencies. And then the one thing you, as a, as a good defender, you have to be willing to do. And I think the type of defender that I am, Kawhi, is a great defender. He does a little differently. He don't file much. But for me, I think it's important to understand when you need to file, not to file. Like, you go look at games, and most games, I'm going to end with four or five fouls. I can go into the second half of a game with zero fouls, which I want to or one file.
Aaliyah Boston
That's my goal.
Draymond Green
I'm going to finish that game with four or five fouls. Because as a defender, it's important to understand when you need to use files. Like, there's a time to use files. You can use files to your advantage. And so I'm not of the belief that filing is a problem. You have to understand.
Aaliyah Boston
I like you, man.
Draymond Green
When to file. You can't just get yourself in trouble every night to where it's like, oh, you got two files in the first six Minutes of the game. That's bad filing, you know, but, like, you got a file going into the second quarter. Cool. As long as you use that file wisely, though, you can't. You can't be a great defender, but you, you know, you getting bad fouls. Like, you know, I, I, I. I love Jaren Jackson Jr that's my little brother. My gripe with Jaren every year is, jaren, you cannot get these bad fouls. You have to use your files. To be as good a defender as Jaren is, you have to use files, but you can't get the bad files. You know, and he's grown in that area. But that's one thing that I had to learn at a very young age in this league is use your files, but use those files wisely. Try to lengthen the amount of time you can go without, you know, be willing to give up a layup sometimes. Like, I'm gonna save that file right now.
Aaliyah Boston
You know what? That's actually. Sometimes. Sometimes I get there and, like, I'll still foul, and I'll be like, damn, I should just let that one go.
Candace Parker
Yeah, but it's like Aaliyah's. Aaliyah's fouls. We're gonna have analytics run when she gets her fouls, because Aaliyah. But you know what?
Aaliyah Boston
We shouldn't count. We shouldn't count moving screens, because sometimes they be moving before I get there, and then other times, you know what, Draymond? They be flopping sometimes. People, they see and they flop. They. And I'm like, bro, we don't even call the flopping rule. Why do we have it?
Draymond Green
Same.
Aaliyah Boston
Are you kidding me?
Draymond Green
Same. But. But here's the thing, though. I, I, I. I like to take pride in being a great screener. Like, Tom Izzo taught me how to screen. That has been a staple of my game. Yeah, listen, but as a screener, you have to understand screening the way you have to understand the way you understand. Have to understand defense. And so as a screener, if I see Steph take off too early, I'm bailing on him, like, now you got to go make the play yourself. I had a bell out the way, but because I can't use that file as a screener, though, that's good. Check this out. Aaliyah as a screener, though, you want to pressure the hell out of Steph. I need to use one of these illegal ones. So I'm about to take me one on this one, right? Like, I, I gotta. Because this guy gotta start looking over his shoulder. And if he start looking over his shoulder, you already got your stuff like you want to. Now you gotta.
Candace Parker
And I hate to say that this applies because Caitlyn, that's what they're gonna try.
Aaliyah Boston
Yeah, no, that's exactly what I'm trying
Candace Parker
to pressure her to try to do all that stuff. And sometimes you gotta. You got to take that. Take foul.
Aaliyah Boston
It's always just so tricky for me, though, because sometimes what they let, like, they'll call something, and then they won't let me get away with anything else on, like, come back down on the defensive end, but they let them get away. So I'm, like, playing that, like, tug of war game sometimes.
Candace Parker
Can I just. Can I intervene?
Aaliyah Boston
Yeah, please.
Candace Parker
No, no, no. This is honestly from the outside looking in, because I am no longer in between the lines. I'm looking at a dynasty that has occurred and a potential dynasty that could occur. And I'm telling you that it is playing through those things. You all are not, like, watching that game. And I know this is like, a culmination of all the games that the Golden State warriors have played, and they played in bigger games or whatever, but watching that game, they were holding the hell out of Steph. Yeah, they were calling fouls. And this is from me looking like they're holding, they're pulling, they're doing these things. Like, honestly, I feel like if you ref step straight up, that is one of the hardest players to ref because you have to do those things to keep him from getting 50. Like, it's just like, you have to. Right. Same thing with Shaq. Like, it's always going to be a foul in some way because you cannot just guard him with the rules. Those are hard players to.
Aaliyah Boston
To.
Candace Parker
To guard. So my thing is, you have to learn how to play through that. And you and Caitlyn have to figure out some sort of, like, way where you kind of take on her challenges. So, like, somebody's messing with her. Like, you come up and you. I'm not saying hurt anybody, but you're able to take a foul or you're able to kind of loosen things up. Draymond got a foul in that. I mean, Draymond got a technical in that Clippers game because it got ridiculous. Like, it got ridiculous. And so I think in ridiculous, however you want to interpret it, the game got out of hand. So with that being said, it's also taking timely technicals, not crash outs. Timely techn.
Aaliyah Boston
I don't crash out no more, though, so that don't even matter.
Candace Parker
I Can't wait till year four. Can't wait. Can't wait to watch you.
Aaliyah Boston
I'm me. That was the old me. I don't even argue with refs no more. You know what I'm saying?
Candace Parker
Okay, I'm gonna get us back to this because we could do this all day. Listen, I really want to talk about this because we are. We don't get a chance to really talk about dynasties in the way. And I think you all have been very open and honest about this being an ending. Part of a dynast that you all have been on. When you were on the ride and, you know, going through the championships and winning all those stuff, you all are very open and honest. Like, this is a fun ride. We are enjoying this because this does not happen every day, Right? There was a moment between you, Steph Curry, and Steve Kerr, and you all came out of the Phoenix game. You all lost, your season was over. Um, and Steve Kerr pulled you all aside. You know, obviously, you guys have seen the sound bite. You were there, Draymond. But what was your feeling? What are your thoughts? You know, they're saying that Steve's not coming back, but what are your kind of, like, final thoughts on the end of this era?
Draymond Green
You know, a part of this era ended when Clay left, right? Like, when Clay left. It's a little different, but it's still us three. And Q Dog, you know, our assistant coach that's been here the whole time, right? Like, it's still a lot of people. Our trainer, Drew Yoder, you know, like, it's a lot of people. Chris demarco just left to take the New York Liberty job of Chris and Marco. Like, it's a lot of people, People around that's been here the entire time still, right? So. So when you're walking in, Raymond Ritter, our PR guy, like, when you're walking in, Eric, how, like, that building still feels so, like, in it. Because everybody. So many people in there can still relate to all of the golden days, right? And so many people have been on the entire ride. And so when you walk in there every day, you know, Clay gone, but still, it's still rolling because all of us are still in here. And we can all go back to those moments. And, you know, you start talking about those moments, the young guys come in, they start asking about those moments. Young guy come in and ask about a moment. It ain't me telling them. It's Drew Yoder telling them. Like, man, when they was doing this, you know, they were like this in the training room. And then this happened and, you know, he going to remember pieces of the stories that we don't even remember, you know, and so you still very much feel that. However, I think
Aaliyah Boston
our.
Draymond Green
We have the best ownership group in the NBA and they have allowed us to ride the entire wave of it, you know, like. And so whether that was. We haven't won A championship since 2022. I grew up in the state of the state.
Candace Parker
I love how you're saying you haven't won since. There are some teams that have not won at all. So it's just, It's. It's comm. Happening to me when you're a part of a dynasty and people are like, yeah, well, we haven't won in four seasons. Like, yeah, but that's.
Draymond Green
But that normal for most, not normal for us. Right. And so, you know, so I like that. What happens is, though, if you look at the dynasties that we've all seen, right? Like the spurs, four years removed from their last championship, they were all gone.
Candace Parker
Yep.
Draymond Green
You know, like you talking four years removed for the Chicago Bulls. Those guys were gone four years after their last year.
Candace Parker
Yeah. Like that.
Draymond Green
They were done, Right. You look at any other dynasties, that's a good point. They, they, they four years later, removed from the last championship, they weren't still like, man, we. We still got chances to do it, right? Like, our ownership group has made sure that we've still had chances to do this. However, a part of this being such a great partnership amongst our ownership group in front office and Steve and Steph and myself, a part of it is also being real, you know, like, you can't be delusional and think that the partnership is great because there's gonna be someone else on the other side of that partnership. Like, are these fuckers delusional? Like, are they crazy? Like, do they not see what's going on? And then you start to clash. And so as long as all of us can stay real with where we are in this, then the partnership remains great. And the reality is, you know, why we speak the way we speak now, you know where you saw early in the year, Steve said, man, nobody. Like, this isn't a surprise to anyone. We're a fading dynasty. Like, the reason, you know, I can come out on my podcast and talk about Steve's comments and why he's right and all of these things is because we're all realistic with ourselves. But we have been the entire 12 years. Like, this just didn't happen. Of where it's like, hey, man, hey, y' all now it's time for us to keep it real. No, the reason this works for 12 years is because we've kept it real the entire. The entire way. And so now that we're in this space and that moment that you just. We just watch at the end of the Phoenix game is because we are real. And I have a player option after this year. You know, right now, going into the summer, I have a player option. I'm never going to stay somewhere where I'm not wanted, right? So, like, I'm not in a situation where it's like, yo, I got to opt in to get this money, or it's over for me. Like, you know, I can. I'll have some other options, I believe. Right? Like, but ultimately, I do know that they want me to still be here. That's great. And music to my ears and a pillow on my heart. Like, I'm forever grateful for that. We do know that Steve Kerr was on the last year of his deal, right? Steve, again, this is a great partnership. This is a family. Steve Kerr said to me, draymond, you know how you said the warriors is your alma mater? This is mine, too, Draymond. Like, we love this place. Like, this just isn't some. Yo, we played for this team. We was collecting a check. We all move on now. No. 20 years from now, Steve gonna be old as hell, and he's still gonna be sitting at these games and warriors games. I'm gonna be 55 years, 56 years old. Old as hell, sitting at these games. Steph gonna be 60. Old as hell sitting at these games. Like, this is. This is. This is. Like, this isn't just like, oh, we all go on now, and this is over. This is a family that's like, yo, as we know it today, this could be. It's the end of the family.
Candace Parker
But Dre could be it. But, Dre, how do you. Because Aaliyah is on a really good team, right? They. They were an overtime away from being in the finals last year without Caitlyn Clark. So this year, they have their. Their squad back. They got their core. They signed everybody. Kelsey Mitchell's coming back. Aaliyah obviously signed for her bag. She didn't leave money for anybody else. And then. Cait, you did not have to do me like that, though.
Draymond Green
Get your bag.
Candace Parker
Get your bag. Caitlyn is coming back healthy.
Draymond Green
Lexi. Sophie.
Aaliyah Boston
Sophie, right?
Candace Parker
Yeah, I knew.
Draymond Green
I'm tuned in C.P.
Candace Parker
i was talking about. I was talking about the core, but okay, we go with that. But the fading dynasty Advice to hopefully a rising dynasty. What would your advice be?
Draymond Green
My advice would be, number one is like, everybody gotta be themselves. There can be no pressure on Caitlin to be who Aaliyah is. There can be no pressure on Aaliyah to be who Kelsey is. Like, everyone must be themselves. Steph, Klay and myself are three completely different cast of characters. There was never a day where it was like, man, he don't act enough like me, or I don't act enough like him or Draymond. Too loud, man. We don't talk that loud. It was never a day where we all weren't allowed to just be ourselves. And so there was never any commotion amongst us because we just being us, man. Like, you be you. I'm going to be me. We gonna do this together. But there must be a care about the place that you're where you're at, right? Like, man, Steph, play myself, man. We fucking our whole love the warriors, and we have represented. We have always seeked to represent this organization that we love, the way that they love us and the way that like. Like it's our own. You got to make the thing your own. There can't be no oh, man. Like, I don't own the team, right? Like, I don't now. There can't be none at all. You got to take ownership and in your place, right? Because in doing that, then everyone who comes in, we spoke of Sophie, who's not on the longer term deal, or Alexi, right? Like, everyone who comes in feel like, I gotta do this in their place. Like, I'm in their place and they operate like this, okay? I have to do those same things. And so you have to take ownership in the place. Y' all gotta be. So about the Indiana fever that, like, you're. You're. You're synonymous with. With the ownership group because you're so about that place. Tim Duncan, Manu Gili, Tony park, they were so about that place, right? Like what you're seeing with Wimy and Stefan Castle. So about that place. Shay so okc like, you must be so about that place in order for it to become a dynasty. Because there's going to be so many days where it's like, man, it's the dog days. You mad. Everything don't feel good. Something going wrong. Steve Curtin got on my nerves today. I done irked the hell out of Steph today. There's going to be so many of those days that the only thing that keeps it together is but we all love this place and we gotta do that. And so that's what I would say. Obviously you gotta play the game. Obviously you gotta put the work in and always be improving and getting better. But you gotta love the place. Like, there must be an ownership amongst the group, that this is our fucking place. And I think that matters more than anything. You see teams get together and they get a championship, but there ain't much ownership in the place. It crumbles, right? Because after you win, it gets tougher.
Candace Parker
So true. Because everybody thinks they know more the next year and everybody thinks they have their way and they want more the next year. What do you think was so special? I'm not saying it was because it ain't past tense. But is so special about Steph.
Draymond Green
Oh, man.
Candace Parker
Like, what's the, the one thing that you think is the most special that makes him who he is?
Draymond Green
He. He. Everything's light hearted with him, except it's really not. Like, he has this demeanor of like, everything's cool and he has this like, yo, baby faced assassin, right? Like all of these. Like, that is who. That's his demeanor and that's who he is. And everything cool, except everything not. He will have any tough conversation. Steph is willing to have a tough conversation before I'm willing to have a tough conversation. Like, he thrives in tough conversations. And within the chaos, like, this guy thrives. Like when it get chaotic, he come alive and he's straight to the point. He direct. It's this, it's that done moving on. Like, he just has this ability of like, it's so welcoming. Like, yo, everybody, welcome over here. And everything's cool. And by the way, don't worry about me, I'm good. Don't like, do your thing. Kd, like, KD coming. You be Kevin Durant. I'm good over here. He's so secure in himself and like, just like welcoming and secure. But the one thing people has always done is they see that image they take and they take. They think it's kindness. They try to take it for weakness. There's no weakness there. Like that dude, he's like. You know how somebody say, like, yo, he a man's man? But it's like, ah. Like, that is Steph, but it ain't our. It's just like, oh, man. Like, he like, how you doing? Yeah, he just has this way about him of like, secureness and just like welcoming and all of that. But the dog, like, what lies underneath. And everybody in the organization feels that. So there is a sense of responsibility because you know, he ain't gonna just walk up to you and be like, yo, we ain't doing that. Like this. We doing that. He just gonna look, keep it moving. Everybody feels this sense of responsibility. And when he feel like, all right, all right, here we go. And I just think that the tone that is set, it's like, it's something that we all could follow. And it's like, I would say that's the one thing that's. Those are the things about him that's like, just makes him so special.
Candace Parker
Tough conversations is. Is a tough balance because you can't have them every day because those aren't tough. They don't become tough. It becomes you. Annoying, right? But there's a balance of people that don't want to have it. And when you're not straightforward, then there's all of this clouded things. And this isn't just in basketball. This is in any culture building. This can be in any family, any. Anything. Like, if you're not willing to have those tough conversations and be straightforward, then it leaves up a lot for interpretation and a lot for feelings and a lot for, well, excuses and all that stuff. So I do. Like, that is. That's amazing to hear just in terms of, like, what he brings, because I think people think, you know, he's a great leader. He's all these things. But to hear you say that is phenomenal. But before we put a bow on this, where would you rank the warriors dynasty amongst dynasties?
Draymond Green
Oh, man.
Candace Parker
Come on, give it to me straight. Let's go.
Draymond Green
Let me see. Oh, that is good. That's good. That's good. Well, I love the Chicago Bulls. Like, so special what MJ Them did. Like, mj, Pip,
Candace Parker
Rodman.
Draymond Green
Rodman. But Rodman was drafted by the Pistons.
Candace Parker
Yes, traded. You're right. You guys were all drafted by the Warriors.
Draymond Green
You know, like, it's just. And so when I look at dynasties, the only ones that I see with the makeup of what we did is the Spurs.
Candace Parker
Spurs.
Draymond Green
Like, you know, but. But, like, they never. And I take nothing from them, by the way. They are like, they. They are who we were looking at and being like, yo, we want to be them. You know what I'm saying? So understand, I. I would never take anything away from those guys, but they never went back to back, so I think that's going to put us above them. Like, they. They were never able to do it in consecutive years, and that's a very tough thing to do. Right? So, like, I think that that puts us above them. Now, you look at the Bulls, you Could say it's like, yo, we were never able to do it three times in a row, you know, like, we weren't able to three peat. You gotta look at the Lakers, right? Showtime. Like, that's a dynasty, you know. But, like, Kareem came from over here. And like, they weren't.
Candace Parker
Okay, now kd, KD came from okc. Let's talk about. But I just.
Draymond Green
KD definitely came from okc. And guess what? KD was so important to us, making it a dynasty because we were able to win more. However, we also had set a standard and a foundation, you know. So again, there's never any KD slander from me. I think KD's one of the greatest. And I'm forever grateful for KD because I don't know if we do become a dynasty if KD does not come here. So make no mistake about it, I'm not taking anything from kd. But we had laid a foundation. We knew how to win a championship already, you know, And. And that's. And that, to me is. Is. Is an important piece of it. And so then, with just all biasedness, I'm going to have a hard time saying that it's not us. Like, I think, you know, like, you know, when you look at the dynasty, not only did we win at a high level, high enough level to become a dynasty, but we actually changed the way the game of basketball is played. And so when I talk about the dynasties, like, yeah, like, they're all great, and I don't take anything from any dynasty, but when I look at any other dynasty, I don't think any dynasty had the influence on the game of basketball as a whole than we did, you know. And so that's why I say, I think it's one of the most, like, one of the more special ones, because the game of basketball as you watch it today, is built on the back of that dynasty. Like, you know, teams trying to shoot threes and trying to get mobile and switching defenses. And, like, that was not a thing. You had two big logs out there as big men, and they played traditional four or five high lows, and that's what they did. And then all of a sudden, the game changed. And right at the forefront of that change is the Golden State Warriors. The ball movement, right? Like teams. You had two guys handling the basketball and calling for screening rolls. And then all of a sudden you got this team that is moving the basketball. And when you watch them. And I say this because so many people said it to us throughout the years when you watch them play, it brought you joy. Like, that's a totally different thing. And I think that's all the things that this dynasty did. And then when KD came in that, it was like, oh, man, you got this great score. Still playing this brand of basketball, but when you need to get a bucket, hey, man, here you go. Now they just stopped all this movement. They just start switching it all, hey, go get a bucket, bro. Like, it was just like, I, I, I don't know. I think.
Candace Parker
And what's crazy and what's crazy is the common denominator in all three of those dynasties is Steve Kerr.
Draymond Green
Steve Kerr.
Candace Parker
Kerr was a part of all three of those dynasties at one point in time. And so to see him as a coach have a dynasty, then him as a player be able to do what he did amongst different greatness. Right. Tim Duncan was different than Jordan and all that stuff, it speaks to the mentality it takes to win rings. Now, my, my question is, in this ring culture, there are a lot of players that are discredited for never winning a championship. Okay? Aaliyah. Aaliyah is going to win a lot of championships, just so you know. So we're not gonna have to have that debate with her on this podcast. But there are a lot of great players that are discredited for not winning a champ. Carl Malone, Chris Paul, Elgin Baylor, Charles Barkley. You were open and honest about that. James Harden, Patrick Ewing, Russell Westbrook. Russ is still playing, but, like, wnba. Becky Hammond, Tina Charles, Alyssa Thomas. Like, what is your thought process on that? Because we all know that it takes an organization, it takes a coaching staff, it takes players all being in the same. And it took. Listen, I was in a league nine seasons before I won a championship, and a lot of it had to do with realizing that you need that to win. What would you say about that in terms of that time period of discrediting players that don't win rings?
Draymond Green
Well, I think the way I look at it is I will never discredit one of those, any of those guys you just named, because, number one, I respect the game. And I know how hard it is to become Chris Paul. I know how great Chris Paul was. Like, I played against James Harden. It was hard to get through James Harden to move on to the NBA Finals. Like, so I know the level of greatness, you know, like Charles Barkley. Joe Dumars used to talk to me about Charles Barkley and his battles with Charles Barkley when I was in high school. Right? Like, I know, and I watch. I Grew up. I've been a basketball head my whole life, right? So, like, I respect the game. You know what I'm saying? Dominique Wilkins, like, I respect. I respect the game. I would never discredit a guy for not having a championship and say, man, he ain't great because he didn't win a championship. I wouldn't do that. But I get it. I do get why people try to. I think ultimately it's a conversation piece. It's fool's gold. Like, you could try all you want to discredit Chris Paul. Chris Paul is Chris Paul, and Chris Paul never won a championship, but Chris Paul was a winner. You know what I'm saying? And so I understand to your point, I understand all the stars that need to align to win a championship. Now, in speaking of all of those guys and women that you name, what we've seen throughout all of their career, the common denominator with all of those names are that we still talk about all of them as greats, although they didn't win a championship. There are people now. And what we understand with those is some of them, you know, listen, Thomas, get to the finals, fall short. You know, Charles Barkley, get to the finals. Karl Malone, John Stockton, get to the finals, fall short. What the common denominator with all of those names that you said is they all won at high level. They just never ultimately won a championship. There are a lot of people, not a lot, but there are people with stats similar or better than some of those people. And we don't talk about them, right? We don't talk about them at all. They couldn't win. They would win 20 games a year in the NBA, 30 games a year. They would get their stats. But 20, 30 wins a season, we don't talk about those people, right? So, like, I think to these guys and women credit that you name, we still talk about those people because of how great they are. But they were winners. All of those people were winners and won at a high level. Ultimately. Just couldn't quite get over them.
Candace Parker
Get over them.
Draymond Green
They weren't just losing players, but that's
Candace Parker
my biggest takeaway from everything. Was like my first eight, nine years. It's like we would lose by one point. And I'm like, that one point is separating me from getting over the threshold of being considered one of the greatest of all time. And it's like that one play, Michael, don't come across the baseline and strip Karl Malone, or, you know, Kyrie Irving. I'm sorry, don't hit that. Step back side Three or like, whatever. Are we talking about legacies differently? And I think that's my whole thing is like, the totality of your career, your whole resume, everything put together. But also on the other side is somebody on a bad team got to score 20 points and somebody on a bad team got to get 10 rebounds. That's my whole thing. So when people throw their stats out, I'm like, but did it lead to winning? Because if it didn't lead to winning, then I don't want to talk about it.
Draymond Green
Exactly.
Candace Parker
You're a follower of the wnba. On your pod, you talk about it. You talk about, you know, the cba. You came on and congratulated AB for her. Her bag. What growth in the league. Because, I mean, you've been to games. I've seen you. We've talked about it. I was on your podcast. So what can you say about the growth of the women's game?
Draymond Green
I think, number one, I love it. I think the one thing I've always appreciated about the women's game is the skill level. The skill level is so high. But I think what has happened is I talk about this all the time. People don't know basketball.
Aaliyah Boston
Say it again. No, no, genuinely say it again.
Draymond Green
No, People don't know basketball. So it's made it tougher for people to appreciate y' all game because they don't see the dunks. And that's what people see. And they're like, oh, right. That's all they could see is like, oh, man, the crazy athletic highlight play. And so then they watch y', all, and they really can't make out what they're watching. Right. So they don't see the footwork. How elite your footwork has to be to be a scorer in the wnba. They don't see that because they don't understand it. And so I think for so long, people haven't been able to understand the game, and they just were like, oh, man. Like, they didn't know what to make out of it because they don't understand. Now, there's always a lot of flak on how much attention or how much recognition, if you will, or credit, if you will, that Caitlin Clark deserves for the viewership of the WNBA and how much isn't her. Right. I'm not here to debate that. I really don't care. What I am going to say is her shooting threes across half court was one thing that they could see and be like, oh, my God. That's like, Steph, uh. Oh, I. I can see that. Oh, my God, like, wow, did y' all see that?
Aaliyah Boston
Let.
Draymond Green
Let more of us look now. I think that played an impact. That had a big impact because it was something that they could see. And like, oh, my God, wow. Once they said, wow, you look and you like, oh, my God. The skill level of this league is in some ways higher than the NBA, but you get to see a highlight play in the NBA. So then it's like, oh, man, they attach themselves to the highlights, which is why people watch highlights of a game and think they know the whole story because they see highlights, right? And so I think now I'm so happy to see the league grow and get the credit, get its due, and to see this new CBA and y' all making more money than you ever have. And by the way, you should be. And if you ask me, I think it should still be more, but that's just me. We'll get there. Baby steps, right? Like, we'll get there. So all the growth process. We'll get there. But I'm so happy to see the league get its due because I've always. I've always watched and I've always followed. And when I watch, I can watch and I can learn, right? And that's what I've always appreciated about y' all game is like, yo, if you. It's becoming more of a fandom sport, which is huge. But if you are a basketball purist, you've always loved it. And I think. And the reality is there's just less basketball purists than there are, like, super fans of the game. And so y' all have started to pick up the super fans of the game, which is great for the growth. I'll warn you, it's worse for the collective conversation around the game. All of a sudden, you're going to start getting more opinions of people that don't know, and you're going to start like, so.
Aaliyah Boston
And they're so loud. And they're so loud.
Candace Parker
But they're so loud. Like, you're loud and wrong.
Draymond Green
Absolutely. So I warn you that with the growth of the game comes that, like, so prepare yourselves for that. But I think the. The way that the league has grown, I think the way all these owners are investing into. Into the organizations, I think is huge. I love that. I don't know that it's a rule or not, but it looks like an unwritten rule to me that NBA owners are becoming WNBA team owners because they just know how to do it. And I think that's important for the growth. I want to See the growth continue to explode as I. As I know it will. But I'm happy as hell that y' all are starting to get to do and to, you know, see. Aaliyah, I know you young, but I grew up watching CP At Tennessee.
Candace Parker
Okay, don't say grew up, because that sounds.
Aaliyah Boston
Wait, so did I, though.
Draymond Green
Diana Yukon, like, and so I've watched, like, the evolution of this entire thing. My aunt was in the first tryout for the Detroit Shock. I've literally watched the WNBA from its infancy, like, to where it is today, and I'm extremely happy to see it finally get the. Do that it deserves, to see it finally get the resources put to it that it deserves, because it's been this diamond that's just been sitting in the rough, waiting to get the influx of resources right, to get the practice facilities to play in the big arenas, to get the TV contracts, shout out to these vets for all that they've done and carrying this game. And now what y' all are doing, taking the torch and running with it. It's a beautiful sight to see. And as a fan, I couldn't be more happy.
Aaliyah Boston
So great. We got to get you rocking a Fever jersey, though.
Candace Parker
Oh, gosh. He's a Valkyrie.
Aaliyah Boston
You know, he's. But I know. But we can. We can work on that. That's not. That's not a big deal. We can. We can work on that. No one's worried.
Candace Parker
Oh, Lord.
Draymond Green
We'll talk about this fever.
Candace Parker
See, with the Fever jersey. But, Dre, before we switch, who's your favorite player or who are amongst your favorite players in WNBA to. To watch Current. We'll say current.
Draymond Green
Asia, to me, is like. I love watching Asia. The tenacity that she plays with. Like, the skill level's insane. You talking about just getting to a bucket. However, I need to get to the bucket. Incredible rebounder. Like, incredible defender. Like, I think, like, just the complete, total package. I think I absolutely. One of my favorite players to watch. I love watching Nafisa Collier, I think.
Candace Parker
Yeah. Skill set.
Draymond Green
Skill set. Like, Tim Duncan, I was just about to say, it's just quiet. Like, Timmy D, man. Like, it gives me. So Tim Duncan.
Candace Parker
Yep. You gonna guess wrong Every.
Draymond Green
Like, I absolutely love watching her play. The skill level is through the roof, Stewie. Watching her win at every level the way she does and just the growth, and it's so effortless. Like, everything she do is just, like, peace, and it's calm and it's effortless. Great rebounder. Also great defender in her own right. And So I would say those over the course of the last few years have been my top three. Aaliyah, I've enjoyed watching your growth. You came in as a number one pick. First year, good year. Right. But, like, needed to grow, and just watching you blossom into your own and, like, actually grow into the player that you've grown into, the falling is less than it was early on in your career. Right? Like, watching you grow into this player and then, like, watching and watching, like, you're part of a rebuild. So then to watch it, like, you be the kind of the first step into this rebuild and to actually, like, watch you see it through, then get what you deserve. Like, I've enjoyed watching that. And y'. All. Y' all team is very fun to watch. Y', all. Y' all Spice. I like the. I like the Spice and the Fierces, y'.
Aaliyah Boston
All.
Candace Parker
Of course.
Draymond Green
Of course he do.
Candace Parker
Of course he liked the spice. Of course he liked the spice. All right, Leah, gonna take it to the AT&T fan connection before we let you get out of here.
Aaliyah Boston
All right, Draymond, so before we wrap things up, let's get into our AT&T fan connection. When the connection matters, it has to be at and T. Okay, first question is from Vince Skull, 0092. Which NFL player do you think could actually make it in the NBA?
Draymond Green
NFL player that can actually make it in the NBA. Maybe none of them. No, honestly, though, it would be like a. It would be like a.
Candace Parker
Like a lobby.
Draymond Green
It would be like a Miles Garrett or somebody like that who just got athleticism in the bruiser and can, like, rebound and set screens. And, like, you get, like. You know, you get your job through that way, because I just don't think any of them would have the skill level of an NBA player to where the thing that you hang your hat on is skill. And so I think it would have to be somebody who's like a rebounder, screen set, or lob catch. And I. So I would say I. I would give it to. Man, Miles Garrett of freaking nation. Yeah. I was sitting there.
Candace Parker
Miles Garrett, I feel like, would mess with the ball. Like, he. He would like the ball. Like, he would. What is it? Puncture the ball? Because he's.
Draymond Green
Yeah, well, he would have to take a couple muscles off the top of the. A couple muscles to.
Candace Parker
That's what I'm saying. He looks like the Monstars. Like, if. If we were to create a. Yo, I know. Miles Garrett is ginormous.
Draymond Green
It's crazy how big man.
Candace Parker
Yeah, good luck with Guarding that. Oh, okay. Go ahead.
Draymond Green
It's like cuz he would be like a Reggie Evans. You know what I'm saying?
Candace Parker
So that's a good point.
Draymond Green
That's. That's why I would say it'll be somebody like that. Because they could play like the Reggie Evans. Typ. Role. Reggie Evans would have was a good pro for 12, 13 years in the NBA.
Candace Parker
That's a good point. Yeah, there's all these, like, skilled positional players that come out and try to, like, play, you know, pick up. Because we all know football players always
Aaliyah Boston
got a strong shot. Like football players that came to.
Candace Parker
To pick up. It was just. And it would always be like, strong.
Draymond Green
There ain't no finesse. No finesse today.
Candace Parker
Just like crazy. But they swear they basketball players is nuts. All right, this is our last question for you. This is for conradstickpop. Name your Golden State Warriors. Mount Rushmore.
Draymond Green
That's four people. That is Steph Curry. That is. Steve Kerr.
Candace Parker
Oh, wow.
Draymond Green
I mean, he. Yeah, you're coach, right?
Candace Parker
Yeah.
Aaliyah Boston
You can do it.
Draymond Green
I mean. Or no. Or I'll stay with players. That's fine.
Candace Parker
But you could do it. Steve Curry is a. I mean, that's a good one.
Draymond Green
Okay, I'll say Steph Curry. Steve Kerr. Klay Thompson. Klay Thompson. And Draymond Green.
Candace Parker
Hey, say it with your chest. Say it with your chest. Say it with your Miles Garrett chest.
Draymond Green
I don't think there's any other way to slice that. Like, you know, we talking Mount Rushmore. That would be importance, right? Like, that would be like. Yeah, like. Yeah, no question.
Candace Parker
I like that. Dre, it is always a pleasure to run into you, to talk to you, to watch you play, to call your games. All those things. Nothing but love. Thank you for coming on post moves. We appreciate you. And thank you. Yeah, we really appreciate it. I'll see you this summer, for sure.
Draymond Green
All right. I appreciate y'. All. And now that y' all brought me on post moves, I'm gonna go to the gym and get my post game back. Cause I used to have a hell of post moves. And then they took the post out the game. So I gotta get my post moves back.
Candace Parker
Yeah, yeah. There ain't many mid post catches.
Draymond Green
Yeah, no, they took it completely out of the game.
Candace Parker
You say they took it. Y' all looking at.
Aaliyah Boston
Y' all took it.
Candace Parker
Y' all the ones that. Y' all the ones that took it.
Draymond Green
You right. I gotta get my moves back.
Candace Parker
I appreciate you, Dre. I'm U.S. transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. We all get distracted when we drive, whether it's from our phones or kids in the backseat bickering. But how we handle these distractions can be a matter of life or death. Before you get on the road for your next road trip, please put your phones on silent and take a mental note to focus on driving. Aaliyah Boston
Candice Honestly, my favorite plays are the ones where a teammate just knows what you need. Like they're two steps ahead.
Candace Parker
Exactly. That's the AT&T guarantee. They don't wait for you to ask. In rare event of a network outage, they'll automatically create credit you for a full day of service.
Aaliyah Boston
So basically it's like your PG throwing you the perfect pass before you even post up. Like just lead me to the rim
Candace Parker
or when AV is already in position before anyone else sees it coming.
Aaliyah Boston
All I'm saying is staying connected matters, and with AT&T, they make sure that you're covered.
Candace Parker
That's connection with commitment. That's the AT&T guarantee.
Aaliyah Boston
AT&T connecting changes everything.
Candace Parker

Let me put you on to something I've been seeing more and more lately. It's called RK0 proof, and it's basically a way to enjoy the taste and feel of your favorite cocktails without any alcohol at all. I'm talking zero alcohol, zero sugar, zero carbs. But somehow it still gives you that same burning experience you'd expect from a real drink.
Candace Parker
They've got everything from whiskey and vodka to rum and tequila alternatives, so you can still have your go to drink just without the downsides. Whether you're cutting back, staying sharp, or just don't feel like drinking but still want the experience, this is definitely something worth checking out. Go to rk0proof.com and see what they've got.
Aaliyah Boston
All right, it's time for our driver's seat moment of the week, presented by Volkswagen, where we spotlight someone who stepped up, seized the moment, and delivered. I feel like this week it can really only go to Braun. Like, I feel like this just makes the most sense. I mean, game three of the Lakers Rock Rocket series. They're down late. Braun just takes over, steal, pull up. Game time three. Bang. Overtime. What?
Candace Parker
This was crazy right here.
Aaliyah Boston
He was nervous. I mean, he was nervous.
Candace Parker
The poke behind Reed shepherd was.
Aaliyah Boston
Give it back. Ooh. Could have shot it. Give it back.
Candace Parker
Kind of wild.
Aaliyah Boston
Ooh. Pump fake three.
Candace Parker
Bang. You just knew that one was going down.
Aaliyah Boston
Like, you just knew it. You just knew it. Like, no one was shocked. No one was shocked.
Candace Parker
The Lakers, they came through in overtime.
Aaliyah Boston
Yep. With that Dubski.
Candace Parker
Insane, actually, if you think about it, that he's doing this at 41 years old.
Aaliyah Boston
He's not even phased. Like, this is what Bron does. Like, this is literally what he does. So shout out to.
Candace Parker
And that's why I was so confused when Jeremon's like, yeah, Bron's gonna retire. I'm like, yeah, no, he's not. He's not. All right, that's a wrap on this week's episode of Post Moves. Thanks again to Draymond Green for stopping by. And new episodes drop every Wednesday.
